161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: OnlyFans owner collects $45 million as dividends because of ETH investment on: October 07, 2023, 08:56:07 AM
That’s a good result of investing in crypto but of course we cannot force every company to do the same since not all are risk taker and most of them still prefer to invest on a traditional market. I’m not familiar with OnlyFans though but I think this app is very popular to other countries, they are making a lot of money from this as well and that’s why they can afford to invest with crypto and that’s a good thing.

Different companies are at different stages. Like those startups which are in first few years of business will need lot of funds and they can invest in risky options like crypto.

Is there a way to know how many spendable merits are going to expire soon ?  If not, it should be included in profile if possible.
163  Other / Meta / Is there a thread where one can submit his profile for review to get merits ? on: September 13, 2023, 06:50:53 AM
Not asking to submit my profile there but to spend some spendable merits I have. I am less active here and I think my spendable merits will expire soon.

Smart move, indeed! Crypto investments can be a golden goose. It's a smart way to make your money work for you. 💰

When you have this kind of mindset, it's like thinking that it's a get-rich-quick scheme, which can simply lead you to lose everything because you are in pursuit of that profit that will turn you into a millionaire.

Why do we celebrate others successes as their investments turn out to be profitable? It's also important to always check how it all started, what the steps were, how long they waited, and all of that, as most times their losses are not usually that public, and the amount invested is also sometimes hidden from the eyes of the public.

Crypto currency investment is good and profitable, but we also have to be careful with the choices of coins that we make, as it can lead us to our downfall if we make just one wrong decision.

The same thing done for long term can be both more safer or riskier. Like , there can be two approaches. One  is being more involved with the investment and tracking it from time to time. This needs you to dedicate time and you can increase the overall returns by withdrawing at right time and reinvesting it. But a better approach, if you do not have much time and have a business like such a big company to mange is to spend good time only in research of a good investment opportunity and then remain invested for long time.
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Tornado Cash founder released on bail on: August 28, 2023, 03:24:44 AM
Tornado Cash founder , Roman Storm, has been released on bail. He was charged on a money laundering case of $1 billion by US department of Justice. At least, him being charged is a good sign that it is not easy to get away with crypto scams now.
166  Economy / Speculation / What if there is no crypto bull run for next 10 years ? on: August 28, 2023, 03:21:53 AM
What if there is no crypto bull run for next 10 years ? Will you give up all your investments and get out of crypto because of this ? Or do you you have even more broader horizon and can wait longer to see the next bull run ?

Personally, I am very much positive with bitcoin future but we should also be prepared for all situations. Nothing can be guarantee in present times and we must also be prepared for worst situations.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: OnlyFans owner collects $45 million as dividends because of ETH investment on: August 28, 2023, 03:17:32 AM
The content of the article did not mention the investment they made, the investment period, and when they bought or sold, but the source says he has collected some $485 million in dividends since the start of last year, and the amount that was mentioned is $45 million, so I assume they invested about 10% of the money which they collected in Ethereum.

Quote
In its accounts the company said it had invested some of its capital into the cryptocurrency Ethereum.

Why Ethereum, I mean Bitcoin is better.

If all companies did this and invested 10%, then Bitcoin could easily reach the capacity of the gold market, reaching 10 trillion.

Yes, the article I linked focuses more on the revenue of the company and not the money they invested to earn dividends.
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Here is a tight slap to bitcoin haters on: August 27, 2023, 03:35:32 AM
I recently found this cool website

https://buybitcoinworldwide.com/bitcoin-is-dead/

It has listed 20 occasions when bitcoin was declared dead by leading publications in the past and every time bitcoin came back stronger. So , next time if some popular news website tells you that bitcoin is dead, do not trust it blindly. Bitcoin still has lot of scope for growth and adoption.
20 occasions, are you sure about this?

It has more than 20 times for "Bitcoin is dead". I believe you did not notice on red dots on the chart as each dot represents one time for "Bitcoin is dead". Additionally, under the chart, it is a table and the first page is for 20 "Bitcoin is dead", again if you notice, there are 365 more - click on "Show 365 more" to see them.

Another website for Bitcoin obituaries is 99bitcoins.com/bitcoin-obituaries that shows Bitcoin has died 474 times.

I missed that. The real number will be more than even those listed on these websites.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / OnlyFans owner collects $45 million as dividends because of ETH investment on: August 27, 2023, 03:25:02 AM
OnlyFans invested some of its profits in Ethereum. As a result, they have collected over $45 million as dividends so far. Very cool strategy I think and more companies should follow this to increase they revenue and  profits. What is your opinion about this ?

172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some smart guy converted $1000 to 1 million in one day with $BALD coin on: August 26, 2023, 02:18:38 PM

Here the problem is not in the amount of losses but in psychology. When a person has earned a lot of money, he is more naive about investments and makes rash investments. Unfortunately, this has been my own experience.

That is why certain category of people become poor again very fast. Like if someone wins a lot of money in lottery, he will loose it all in few months because he is not aware where to invest that money to get consistent income. On the other hand, those who get increment in income gradually, are more proper with the investments. That is why there are so many millionaires who started from zero. However, I think that someone who did what I stated in OP must be a smart guy, he is aware of many similar opportunities in crypto.
173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I found my Bitcoin books from 2016 on: August 20, 2023, 12:53:44 PM
How did you know about Bitcoin in 2016, 2017 and know about those faucets but did not join the forum earlier?

You only joined Bitcointalk in 2022, about less one year and one month ago. It is good to know that you are Bitcoin adopter since 2016, 2017 and you are survivor since the past bear market and a current one because you are still here, around Bitcoin, this market and are a member of this forum.

Would you mind sharing what happened with you since 2016 till 2022, please.

Today you can claim Bitcoin at this faucet: https://freebitco.in/site/bitcoin-faucet/

I am not sure about other faucets.

A first Bitcoin faucet is Get 5 free bitcoins from freebitcoins.appspot.com in June 2010.

There are many people involved with crypto from start who have not joined this forum yet. Different people have different priorities and thus this forum might not be priority for those people. Another possibility is that he belongs to some country where this forum is not very popular. Later when more people from his location started becoming active here, they might have shared it with him and thus he joined.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you gained anything after the end of bull run? on: August 20, 2023, 05:45:50 AM
Last bull run was 2021 and after that, altcoins price dumped a lot. In 2022, we noticed a little pump and in this year 2023, altcoins pumped a lot, if compare altcoins price chart after end of bull run.           So have you able to gained anything after the end of last bull run? Or last bull run makes you dumped and you are still trying to regain what you have lost?

The bull run of 2023 has not started yet. If you invest at current prices, and bitcoin goes back to peak prices, you will double your money. I think this is very much possible in next six months. If you want better returns than this, search for good alt coins which are still corrected by good price.

Regarding the new launched coins, I will suggest to avoid them in next bull run because there will be so many of them. To filter out coins from them, you will be spending a lot of time and energy. I do not recommend this unless you are doing this full time.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to tell if a new coin is worth investing in! on: August 20, 2023, 05:43:07 AM
If a coin introduces a completely new technology that enables a different function and is sustainable in the long term, does it have the potential to be a worthwhile investment?

If it is having a differentiating factor, it can be a good bet. Like, there are some privacy coins which are suited for different type oof audience. Same way , if there is some other coin which is targeting some other problem being faced by crypto users, it can be success. Other factors matter as well though. Like the team behind the coin. You should do a thorough research about the team behind the coin. Most of the scam coins have imaginary people in their team as their end goal is to run away with the money invested by investors in the coin.
176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it possible to invest in bitcoin to build a country whose economy is down? on: August 19, 2023, 03:01:19 PM
Of course, we certainly know that not all countries in the world are progressing, especially in the economic field.

I want to ask everyone, can adopting bitcoin help a country's economy? especially countries that are experiencing bankruptcy, for example, as experienced by our brothers in the country of Sri Lanka.

but if my think can! a country by adopting bitcoin will help its economy, as long as it is adopted on a large scale.
for example as follows:

: all people who can afford it are obliged to invest in bitcoin, but of course investing in bitcoin is only made as a side job. but of course investing in bitcoin must be in accordance with the capabilities of the community, because society of course consists of rich people and poor people, but in my opinion investment in bitcoin can be achieved by all people, because investing in bitcoin can start with small capital or large capital .

So in that way I think the people's economy will be helped, so in this way a country's economy can also be helped because the community invests in bitcoin.
and finally the government must provide lessons about bitcoin to its people, or add it as a new subject for students, and also provide special lessons for those who are not in school, namely so that people know the risks of investing in bitcoin,
etc.

what is my understanding like that, I ask for your opinion from all of you?

It can help the economy but only bitcoin cannot save the economy. It can be part of the overall structure. In many fields, adding bitcoin to payments can bring overall transparency. It is going to very profitable for corrupt countries as it can check the practice of corruption.
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin Instead of Gold? on: August 19, 2023, 02:59:49 PM
Bitcoin instead because of gold because

1) Rate of growth is faster in case of bitcoin

2) Easier to carry bitcoin

3) Bitcoin can be easily exchanged for online services being purchased all over the world. Impossible with gold.

179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What tips you will give to a new investor to identify scam projects early ? on: August 18, 2023, 02:04:48 PM
refrain from investing in a project that falls under category of shitcoin and meme coin, usually these project have no use case, rarely good products its just plain token that they offered and thats it.
you already do yourself a favor saving yourself from investing into shitcoin which definitely have the potential of scamming you.

I do not invest in new coins at all. I created this thread to help other new investors who get tempted from huge returns being offered by new coins. One must avoid these coins or his whole trust on bitcoin and ecosystem will collapse.
