Hello developers and administrators,  is this campaign going to keep going for a new week starting December 4th, 2017?
163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: will satoshi nakamoto's emancipation affect bitcoin? on: December 04, 2017, 12:36:33 AM
insinuating 1M+ BTC onto the market at any time and unexpectedly will put BTC in a different direction

First of of no one knows who satoshi is, heck for all i know you can be satoshi. Now assuming this person is still alive what makes you think they hold 1 million bitcoins. I mean I'm sure when they created bitcoin they did not anticipate for it to either grow this fast or even be around. So they could have dumped it at like $10 or $100. I dont honestly think any free sane alive person would hold on to 1 million bitcoins worth $12,000.00 each well almost lol.
164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Give me please at least 10 reasons to invest in bitcoin on: December 03, 2017, 09:41:26 PM
You should really not need a reason from some strangers on the internet telling you why to buy bitcoin.  If that is the case you might as well sit in a yahoo " how to make money " in penny stocks chat room. The reality everyone is different for example if you in Venezuela bitcoin is a good way to fight hyper inflation. In North Korea it can be used as a way for people to store value from a oppressive dictatorship. In the USA  can be used as a way to dream of financial independence or as a way to send money for lower costs.
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: only 0.000149 btc on: December 03, 2017, 06:58:05 PM
Can't help you with that. That's just like, around 45 cents. You really can't do much with that. I suggest you cash in more into your wallet first so that it'll be worthwhile to send it some place. Maybe start with $1000 for trading. If you don't live in the US just like me, even $100 should be enough to see some profits with a good coin.

Well if the op still has this amount of bitcoin that he mentioned then i am sure glad to hear it has gone up in value. His $0.45 cents will now be worth about $2.00 at today's bitcoin price. This only comes to show it really does pay to hodl them bitcoins for the future as the value tends to go up.
166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin less evil than PayPal? on: December 03, 2017, 06:50:01 PM
If we consider Paypal evil (I do), should we consider Bitcoin less evil?

Paypal allows chargeback fraud and is a feast for scammers
Then again
Bitcoin doesnt allow chargebacks and is a feast for scammers because of that

I think Bitcoin, however, cant be regarded as evil cuz its decentralized or semi-decentralized(china)

what do u think fellow people of Bitcointalk?

~CfA~

I am not sure i would consider paypal " evil " just because some people decide to use it at times for bad things. People would be saying the same for bitcoin if that was the case. They would never things like silkroad out of their minds. Now paypal does have some bad fees but here recently bitcoin fees have been bad. So who is the evil of them both?
167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: APMEX now accepts Bitcoin! on: December 03, 2017, 05:57:04 PM
This is something that is incredible in my opinion but i see it with mixed feelings. Dont get me wrong i have been a customer of apmex bullion for a few years and i really like them. The only issue is i dont know how i feel about using one store of value of bitcoin to buy another store of value like gold or platinum. Obviously bitcoin has appreciated at a much faster rate than other precious metals as well as stock markets.
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN AS PAYMENT FOR ONLINE GAMES on: December 03, 2017, 05:29:52 PM
Ok so here is the issue with using bitcoin to pay for online gaming. My wife has been doing so called experiment of sorts if you want to say. She has been using a bitcoin card to pay for her $16.00 monthly subscription. Six months later what should have been $96.00 in cash has costed her like $2000.00 LOL so i would say only do it if you really must.
169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where did my Bitcoins go? on: December 03, 2017, 05:15:44 PM
I really do not understand how the whole dat file thing does a difference. I once had a issue  sending bitcoin to kracken exchange where my bitcoin just disappeared. I tried to mess with the dat file junk but ended up getting mad at the whole process.  In the end  i recovered nothing but it was only .1 bitcoin back then i did not care as bitcoin was like 200.00
170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would Bitcoin Futures Contact affect prices? on: December 03, 2017, 08:50:29 AM
I personally think that having bitcoin futures being traded on the Chicago mercantile exchange cme and the on nasdaq stock market is a good thing. I think it will help possibly anker prices while still allowing for good growth.  Now i also think it would give bitcoin more credibility with older people who dont trust companies unless they have a listing on market exchange.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin dies does altcoin die? on: December 03, 2017, 06:33:25 AM
Bitcoin is a very popular crypto coin today, we know that Bitcoin will be very expensive in the future but I imagine if Bitcoin die, whether there will be hope for the future of altcoin? because most altcoin exchanges are to bitcoins
your opinion is highly appreciated. Smiley

I personally think that it would become hard for bitcoin to die completely. Lets say that all the big mining farms went offline at the same time. That would still leave all tje people who mine at home running the network like in the early days. Now if something did kill off bitcoin completely i would imagine that it will be some new coin. If that is the case then i am sure that alt coins will be backed up by this new coin so they should be safe i think.
172  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will fall down on december on: December 02, 2017, 10:45:48 AM
I understand that many people have that same idea about bitcoin rising in value at a fast pace is worrisome. I personally dont see it that way because it is not like bitcoin is new and just increasing for no reason. There areany factors giving way for more growth. For example one bitcoin is traded on nasdaq stock exchange you can bet the price will rise even more. All we can do is watch that value go up in time.
173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you taxed on Bitcoin? on: December 01, 2017, 06:38:32 PM
Are you taxed on Bitcoin?

Right now I'm not being taxed. I hold most of the bitcoins I have, and only withdraw when necessary. Every time I exchange some coins and withdraw them to my bank I usually keep the transactions low so no alerts are raised at banks (of course I could not raise alerts even If I wanted to xD). I'm not trying to evade taxes, and I actually asked if I had to declare anything. The answered that bitcoin are still not regulated in my country so no one really cares right now, and I don't have to do anything.

I will keep this line of action though, because it would be unfair if they decided that I would have to pay something from my last transactions. So I will try to keep then untraceable right now, and if the law changes, and I have to pay taxes, I will start doing it, but I don't intend to pay taxes from my last transactions, since they were the ones saying I didn't have to.

Man i really hope you don't live in the USA or any USA territories bevause that just happened. On Wednesday the internal revenue service IRS won their year long fight with coinbase. Coinbase is now required to release records of anyone who had $20,000.00 in bitcoin between 2012 through January 1st 2016. That way they can pay taxes and penalties of course lol.
174  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can Bitcoin be converted to Cash? on: December 01, 2017, 04:44:20 PM
Can Bitcoin be converted to Cash? If yes
How?

Yes there are many options available to you depending on where you live. For example i use coinbase and convert bitcoin to cash and withdrawal it when i need to by ach transfer. Another option with coinbase is using shift card for purchases.  Xapo also has a a debit card that can be used.
175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another Fork in December on: November 30, 2017, 09:22:00 PM
I am not sure if this so called fork is a joke or something else as i have not seen anywhere about it. The last fork i had heard of was for Sedgwick fork back a few weeks ago but that was dead in the water pretty much from what i read. Also alot of the time you have people mention like a wishlist of what they would like improved as well as what it should be called.
176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Getting into bitcoin with only $25 on: November 30, 2017, 08:34:05 PM
I scraped together the little money I have and dove into bitcoin. My ambition is to make money trading altcoins and keep a bitcoin reserve. Can I even make it anywhere starting with such a small amount of money?

First of all when it comes to bitcoins you don't need to buy a whole bitcoin to benefit. Sometimes just buying and holding is good as it may go up in value. I will tell you a true story. I had bought 40$ worth of bitcoin back in 2015 from cex . Well i forgot about that account till about 7 months ago when i got curious if they would do cloud mining.  Needless to say when i logged in and seen my $40 had grown into almost $1,000.00 i was happy.
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin to eliminate unemployment. on: November 30, 2017, 06:58:34 PM
Almost every country has unemployment problems. There are many young boys who are working unemployed. But the days of settling their turn are over. Now, if you wish, you can earn a lot of money sitting in the house. Bitcoin can earn their unemployment by earning. It can be possible to improve the country by improving their lives by earning bitcoin. That is why Bitcoin among all Habetahale to spread the knowledge of the second day will increase the demand for Bitcoin.

First of let me say I'm sorry if i misunderstood the post when i answer it. I do not see bitcoin being able to end unemployment anywhere period. Now if you are trying to say that bitcoin can be used to eliminate poverty by giving free money to people by not working then that is not ending unemployment. That is just government assistance and the people are still unemployed but they now have some money due to welfare hand outs.
178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin holder's dilemma on: November 30, 2017, 06:21:22 PM
Hey guys, I've decided to ask you - what whould you do in this problemmatic situation?

Suppose you have some bitcoins (let's say 22) and you bought them / got them a few years ago very cheap, and now you see it's price and.... what to do?!! Will you take the profit and go away, or sit and hold further? Suppose you're not going to buy more. But when to sell?

Well first of all if you are burdened by 22 bitcoins feel free to send me some to relieve your stress lol. On a serious note you can do 3 things. First one, sell 1 bitcoin as this will civer the cost of those 22 and give you a profit. Second option,  sell half and walk away with some massive profits. Third option is simply do nothing and assume bitcoin price will keep going higher leading to even more profits.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin or Ethereum on: November 30, 2017, 11:55:56 AM
I would suggest you to go for both. Bitcoin and ETH are two different crypto currencies created for different reasons. While bitcoin is a pioneer in the crypto world, ETH proved itself as a worthy contender of bitcoin. According to coinmarketcap website, the market cap of bitcoin is the largest at $175 billion and the second largest tag belongs to ETH at $43 billion. No other coin comes in between. Even though Dash and Litecoin was created long ago that ETH, no one could actually took over ETH in market cap.

For both Bitcoin and ETH, the future looks extremely promising. So I would suggest you to go for both. Even if you don't add other coins in your crypto portfolio, Bitcoin and ETH must be there for a healthy return in long term.

I agree with you on this statement and i actually do the same. I buy both ethereum and bitcoin as i also see higher  prices for both of this coins. Like you said they both have large market caps and different technical aspects that should both be respected and admired i would say in my humble opinion.
180  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase rates differ to GDAX rates... on: November 30, 2017, 11:44:36 AM
Hi guys,

Can someone please clear up this up as im confused as hell:

Coinbase are currently selling 1 bitcoin for 8260 euro but on gdax the lowest sell order is 8580 euro. I would expect the sell book on gdax to be close to what coinbases rates, but that doesnt seem to be the case?..

Thanks!

I myself have often asked my self this question since i use both coinbase and gdax often. I will use coinbase for things like instant buys for any coins like bitcoin and ethereum. Now the only time i use gdax is when i deposit cash and then initiate purchase of bitcoin since then you don't have to pay the fees that you normally have to pay coinbase.
