821  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ANX: Your Ultimate Crypto Trading Platform on: February 04, 2015, 05:22:38 PM
I'm about to receive my ANX Plus Debit card soon (I received and e-mail from ANX support telling me it has been sent), and having just read here that it's a UnionPay card was a bit of a disappointment and a worry.

I did a bit of googling and found that China UnionPay has a page at the link below where you can select your country and find some information that might be of use, including a support hotline. The "Merchant Search" functionality was useless for me (partially translated, no results), but there's a decent summary in the "Tips" section

http://en.unionpay.com/englobalization/list_englobalization.html

As far as I'm concerned, being in Switzerland, it appears the only merchants where I'd be able to use a UnionPay card would be located in tourist destinations (Luzern, Interlaken, Geneva,...) where chinese clients like to buy their watches and other luxury items; litlle hope for buying groceries or fuel, as I was planning to.

One piece of information I would need from our friendly ANX guys in the forum is with regard to the ANX Plus monthly fee: https://anxbtc.com/pages/#/card-compare states "Free for first 12 months" under the heading "Monthly fee", but I'm unable to see how much will this monthly fee be after 12 months.

Hi calagan,
First off, sorry about this union pay problem! Sad

To answer your question, agtrt the first 12 months with an active ANX plus card, the fee will be 5 HKD pet month, which is a bit below $1 USD.  Hope this helped!

Cheers
Monbux

mmm thanks for that information, will i have any fees after some time? I got ANX Premium Mastercard, if so what will the fees be
822  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: February 04, 2015, 05:12:15 PM

It's instant in our case

Not so instant right now. I did another btc -> card withdraw, and its been pending for a while.
Okay, to be fair, only a few minutes now, but hardly instant like the previous times. Thought Id try a withdraw outside of banking hours.

If it helps its transaction #3775

edit: Im guessing a problem with mychoice. I tried logging in there, but couldnt. I might have forgotten the password, so I tried resetting it, but Im not getting any email (fro mychoice). Tried logging in via card number, but its asking last 4 digits of my SSN, which I never gave (and we dont even have).

ewww does not sound like you in a good place right now puppet, hope that issue gets resolved and everything works out ok and you can continue ussing the card

Any plans on enabling logging in via email+password+2FA? Smiley

also make sure you include text 2fa as some people like me do not have cell phones that use google or apple, i just have a also fasion normal cell phone to get text and make calls

That's what they already have in place while logging in, there's a code sent to your phone.

lol i should have worded that better ment to say a working text 2fa haha, i always have to click the call me option as i will never get any of the codes sent to me in text form

Crosspost for clarification reasons:

I got my Xapo debit card without being fully registered. Yes, I had to fill in my basic details, but they never requested an ID. I have used the Xapo debit card and it works great, just like their app. Their website? Not so much. It's very confusing (for example the buying Bitcoins part) and sometimes so slow that I have to login again before I can do something, which is quite annoying.

All my support questions have always been answered within 24 hours so I'm a happy customer at Xapo.

awesome glad to hear that, i actually responded to one of your posts a little bit lost on the issue on something i am sure you will see it and respond  Wink

Let's cross post in here as well!

I have used my debit card and it works like it should. Sadly not a lot of shops accept it in The Netherlands. Oh well, still an amazing thing to have for when I need cash and only have Bitcoins. Grin

i am glad the card is working for you but i am little bit lost why would the card not be working in your area? I thought the card was a Visa or Mastercard and i thought it had the customers name printed on it? Is this information not correct?
827  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is Xapo a scam?? on: February 04, 2015, 04:40:42 PM
It's not scam but I wouldn't use it. Remember inputs.io and never trust online wallets.
Yes you are correct. With xapo, its not actually owned by you, you can't take the private key of your wallet, and they could cut you at any time. The funds are not yours, its just a random number in a system which isn't transparent.
Always be careful when dealing with online wallets, other than blockchain.info
I think the mentality that we can't trust anyone, including well-funded companies with experienced teams who have established a reputation like Coinbase, BitPay, Xapo, and Bitstamp (who despite the hack, didn't cost a single user a penny), hinders the progress of bitcoin. I totally understand bitcoin users who do not want to use online 3rd party wallet providers, they have their reasons, many of which are completely legitimate, but to say keeping your bitcoins with Xapo is like a disaster waiting to happen, is not fair when you consider the alternative. A lot of people trust Xapo more than they trust their ability to not lose a paper wallet, for example. There is no fail-safe solution, but at least Xapo has invested a lot more money into a security architecture than the people who write-off third party wallet providers.

it is true and that is why you always have to continue to provide you on top of things and taking care of customers funds and have high security. None of this " oopppps we had 1 bad employee who broke all our security and took off with thousands of bitcoins " Also letting the address of physical offices where customers can go visit might be good
828  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is Xapo a scam?? on: February 04, 2015, 04:31:59 PM
cant use xapo unless your fully verified and they only accept passport or government issued id cards as verification (whats wrong with driving licence. I live in uk we don't use id cards, apart from to prove your old enough to buy a pint) all they ask for is a number no photos of the id.
so fuck them if they cant do a proper verification process I wont use them
I SMELL SCAM be aware of immigrants with your name
oh and their website runs like a bag of shit
when they declined my verification they said:-
We were not able to verify the information you provided and are unable to enable full functionality for your account. For more information, please see our identity verification frequently asked questions.

they should provide a reason so I can correct it not point me to some useless faq that only says you cant use if you don't verify. it provides no other usefull information as to how to get verified

oh and "unable to enable full functionality for your account" don't they mean any funcionallity?(not full functionality)  not even an online wallet that can be used outside of the fiat world?

A current driver's license IS considered a valid Government Issued ID. Common reasons why Xapo is unable to verify a user's identity include the following: discrepancies in repository information, incomplete information, recent changes in your address, or other data points used in our screening process. Additionally, please see our frequently asked questions regarding trust and privacy: http://support.xapo.com/trust-and-privacy.

ok thanks for the response

what i don't get is promising to buy back coins for more than they sold for.  then i see this shit rocketing to the moon.

do people not realize that u have to have more inflow than outgo or it doesn't work?

it's so hard for me to feel empathy towards people who bought into something that just made some random promise to pay them more.  cuz ... well he promised?

And I have empathy for a lot of shit people get ripped off for but this one was just ... just beyond stupid.  guess we are still in a massive bubble for this type of shit to raise as much money as it did.

yeah see i did not get that concept how it just took off like you said but seems like people kept pumping in to keep it going but as we all know that came to a end and is not all going down hill

Dear Users,

First of all, we would like to extend our appreciation for your feedback about our service. We take your considerations seriously and strive to be as responsive as possible to all your comments. We are confident that this approach will help us improve BIT-X.

We have recently been made aware of an issue which affected our mining system and have conducted tests of the mining earnings algorithm for our hash owners. The test revealed an error – users received fewer bitcoins for mining than they were due, as a result of an invalid rounding of values.

At this point in time, our team is developing a script which will calculate the insufficient payment and transfer the shortfall amounts to each affected user. This will be finalised in the earliest possible timeframe. We apologise profoundly for our fault and assure you that all losses will be remunerated.

Please note that our mining system is currently under going the beta phase. A stable version has been set for the end of February. We have chosen by no means the simplest way; we have decided to put in place the most exact algorithm for bitcoin accrual for mining. This algorithm will factor in a transaction of hashes on the exchange accurately to within one second and will distribute a reward in accordance to these transactions. This approach will ensure customers will not lose their reward on the day of selling or purchasing. Instead users will receive a portion of their reward on the day when hashes were bought or sold.

Kindly inform us of any notes about our mining system or exchange operations. We promise to pay attention to all your feedback!

Best regards,
BIT-X Team

thank you for the information please do keep us updated in any changes as i am sure we all want to hear about them, especially the Visa debit card with our names on them  Grin

I vaguely remember something about identity verification where we need to upload a picture of our ID on the site? But I can't find anything about now for some reason, how do we remove the 2.5k/year limit again?

lol yeah i could see how the 2,500$$ limit a year would be a problem, i probable spend more than that in a year just for cigarates and beer combined haha  Cool

You want proof? Since i have no time to look through all the edited and deleted posts by you, lets take your first reply as an example:

A little more details like limits and fees would be great, before one signs up for something.

The limits would be the amount of currency that you have loaded onto the card, and the only fee is 2.5% of the amount you load onto the card. The card will only cost $10 USD.

The limits would be the amount of currency that you have loaded onto the card
Lie!

and the only fee is 2.5% of the amount you load onto the card.

The card will only cost $10 USD.

Oh, and bahamapascal, the one you quoted praising you, is this the same one bumping this topic?

And the fact that you still fail to understand what you did wrong and werent fired shows with what kind of people customers of ANX have to deal with:

LOL dam where do you find all this posts haha, it is like crazy insane how you find them all so good, i personally always get tired searching for posts as get timeout errors  Grin

I knew about https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=857670.19960 but i stopped reading it (to much useless posts ) Anyway thanks for the other link. I read a few posts and it seems everybody now realize Garza is a fraud .

Back to the real thing : strange btc is going down ,diff is going up but UMISSO price is going up . Did I miss something ?

You didn't miss a thing.  With btc/usd around 220's and an incoming difficulty increase that looks to be well over 5% maybe closer to 10% by the time it adjusts it is not really even a gamble to buy umisoo at this price it is insane to.

You also need to think in terms of how long umisoo will most likely stay valid and if you can mine that amount or more in that time.  The answer for me is a clear no.

However, if btc climbs to over 250 to about 270 and looks like it has some legs even with the 10% increase it could prolong the life of umisoo enough to possibly make enough on the mining and then the resale.

Here is the biggest problem we are at 220 with a looming 5-10+ % difficulty increase...  If btc/usd drops even a little ( which is clearly not beyond the realm of possibility ) you lose everything.  Now, if umisoo was trading at closer to .0001 then the risk/reward ratio become more acceptable imo.   The risk to what reward with the current price of umisoo is just not there.

Crap, I just looked at nextdifficulty. I hadn't realized that it was up to a 10% diff increase now. Ouch.
Shit tons of mining hardware must have come online in the past week.

it looks like all the people with old school miners are turning them on to stay warm during this cold winter nights we are haveing, guess they figured better to generate heat and some bitcoin. Instead of just heat and pay gas
840  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: February 02, 2015, 11:49:54 PM
Ok Now we are in the same situation of Cex.io, in the last two months, money go down instead of going up.... very very bad bad bad....

Lost 0,00014826 in the last 36 hours, with my 100Ghs with them, nothing because i'm a small fish but bad situation.....

I would probably be a good idea to sell for .0001   Grin

Come on guys the last three days payouts were well above average. We are paying for this now. People are selling cheap again because of one bad day. Good buying opportunity.

I currently have a negative .44 BTC balance so I feel your pain.

lol wow how the hell do you have a negative balance of 0.44 bitcoin on hashnesy that is just beyong crazy, you think they would say hey you hit -0.1 bitcoin we shutting you down

It will come back to positive shortly.

73 TH - calculate the earnings and fees for the bad day yesterday and you will see.

Huge dump in price on Umisoo. I am going to add another 25 TH if possible. Counting on BTC price rebounding nicely. (And truth be told if it tanks we are all screwed anyway) Too much upside potential to not take the risk.

WOW 73th that is crazy i do not even get 5% of that i am so envious of all of you with all this great th amounts of hashing power on hashnest makes me so sad  Cry
