^Then, Republican Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy also has something to say about that.

“This decision is strong and clears a path to keep Bitcoin and blockchain innovation in the U.S. instead of overseas,”
Everything is going on our side lately when it comes to the judiciary. But SEC seems to be rock solid at being the checkpoint of everything. It's cool that they want the people to have a safe investment but it's getting out of hand that even those with good purposes are being cornered.
I think this will be the start of a spark in the crypto industry and might as well be the start of another bullish run.

Even if this is just a strategy for Vivek's candidacy it's still good news and I think many will approve of him.
162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 01, 2023, 05:46:00 AM
The whole Giannis thing started when he said he is expecting some winning moves made by the team. Plus we are seeing stars leaving their teams all the time now, way more than back in the day, which means that its going to get only more common. There is really no reason for someone to have a career like Dame anymore, its not getting enough respect. That dude has spent all his life in Portland and for one reason or another they did not build a team around him at all. Dame with some great drivers would have been a beast team, Giannis is a great example, imagine Dame with him. The fact that some stars may not want to end up like him makes sense.

Yeah, many players have realized this and are now willing to make moves even if they get bashed. Personally, it's better to follow what you want to avoid regrets in the future and stay unaffected by negative remarks. Dame is a very good example of the current superstars that stay loyal to their city and because of that he's probably more loved with minimal bashers than the other superstars. To be fair, Portland tried to make moves in the past but they were not enough and it's also not consistent probably due to limited resources, unlike the other rich teams in the NBA.

Dame is now 33 and he wants to play his remaining years while he is still significant in a team that has a real chance of winning the title. Portland should at least try to ship him to Miami as per his request for his many years of loyalty. Hopefully, a 3 or even more team trades will do this before the start of this season.
Probably. But they had their opportunities, and they didn't take it. I think that is why Damian Lillard is so eager to get out of the team. They don't seem to take any risk at all even if they will pay too much or hit the luxury tax. Team managements do this because it will be worth it in the long run. Golden State Warriors is a good example.
Joe Lacob and Peter Guber may have been paying a lot for their luxury tax but the risk they took made it possible for the Warriors to be one of the teams that is almost sold out of tickets every game. And their jerseys and memorabilia are selling at a rate that would make profits for them.
People even say it's a Warriors game even if it will be their opponents homecourt. That's the effect of the risk they took, and they are now reaping the rewards.

We've seen this before and we all know where it is going afterwards.
I get it, it's a bear market and most of us are looking for a way to make money the easy way. Sure friend.tech could be the answer for that, but it will also be the one reason of their fall.

164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 24, 2023, 12:22:43 AM
^ I have my doubts that Zion will ever be able to play a full 82 game season. He’s just too big to be a professional basketball player. The speed and strength of this guy almost ensures an injury. Healthy, he’s the most dominant player the NBA has seen since Shaq, and more athletic than a young LeBron. If they did figure out how to keep him healthy for the rest of his career, he would no doubt be one of the best to ever do it.
It may be his upper body that is heavier than his lower body and that's why his injuries are mostly from the legs downward. I saw his photo and he is making muscles out of the fats but if this workout will make him heavier than before then it might be the wrong path for him. It's true that he will become one of the dominant players in the league if he can achieve the health that will make him play more but just like you said I also doubt that he can play for that long without hurting himself again. They may try load management just like what the Clippers is doing with Kawhi, but again there's no escaping injuries once it hit you.
New Orleans fans are getting restless, he needs to be better this season.
165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Typical scenario when you are losing on: August 21, 2023, 01:18:22 AM
I’ve been gambling for a long time which make sme experience tons of losses and gains at the same time. On this topic, I listed below the typical scenario whenever I experience loss. I notice this before but I’m ignoring it because I don’t want to believe that it’s really the cause.

Scenario when I lose in gambling
  • Waking up early morning to play gambling without eating any breakfast
  • When someone badgering me behind while I’m playing
  • When I already on adrenaline mode after losing more than 50% of my bankroll and start chasing losses using huge bets.
  • Gambling late night while I feel already sleepy
  • Playing gambling after a recent huge win
  • When I already huge amount while I can’t withdraw my balance due to my pending deposit
  • Chasing small bets lose while I’m already up by huge profit just to close my balance to nearest whole number

I’m still tracking all my human error that keeps me giving a regular losses when I’m on this condition. Do you have something like this?
Dude, it's like you read my mind and detailed all my bad habits. Cheesy That last part especially, it's like a sickness that cannot be cured. Chasing the small bet loss even if the profits had been in the number that any gambler would love to have.

"Playing after a huge win." I think this cannot be erased. We are born greedy. We want more. And the thought of just using a little bit of that profits just to check if our luck is still there will cause a bad domino effect. Suddenly, that little bit of profits that will be risked will be start of the chasing the losses path and it's going to be continuous.
166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My dream is coming close. on: August 19, 2023, 07:00:55 AM
That's the spirit! I like it. Focus on the goal. Don't be bothered by those who make market analysis because you are not a trader. That is only for those who want to buy and sell whenever they like. But, for those who want to store Bitcoin for a long time or accumulate it because they find it better to keep it than sell it, then just avoid those analysis.
1 Bitcoin will always be 1 Bitcoin. Keep that kind of perspective.
167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gary Gensler's SEC sues Crypto Influncers and posts on his Twitter as propaganda on: August 17, 2023, 11:24:50 AM
SEC goes after another crypto influencer but this one had created their own blockchain to rival ethereum for the go to for smart contracts called HEX:
https://nationworldnews.com/sec-sues-influencer-who-promised-to-outperform-bitcoin-and-ethereum
https://ihodl.com/topnews/2023-08-01/sec-sues-hex-founder
https://www.ccn.com/news/sec-sues-hex-founder-unregistered-securities

Funny thing is, Gary Gensler and the SEC chose to have this court case filed on the same day as a film about the HEX founder came out:
The Highest of Stakes: The new crypto king or billion dollar conman trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtfjEg_ou6c
It's been a long time since I heard the ICO (Initial Coin Offering) and it comes out again. I heard the PulseX project before, but I never had the chance to check it out.

It looks like SEC or should I say Gary Gensler won't stop at this point and there may be more projects that will come out being filtered out by them. He may be busy with checking out the AI technology injected in cryptocurrencies, but he won't stop suing more.

I found some recent news about SEC and Gensler.
https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2023/08/15/republican-lawmakers-demand-gensler-tell-them-how-prometheum-got-sec-approval/
Republican Lawmakers Demand Gensler Tell Them How Prometheum Got SEC Approval
Quote
“The timing of the approval raises concerns that it was aimed at demonstrating that legislation is not needed because there is a workable regulatory framework for the custody of digital asset securities,” the letter said. The lawmakers also sent a letter to the head of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) – an industry-funded group that sets and enforces securities standards under the SEC’s watch.

Quote
The letters raise “serious questions” about whether the SEC championed Prometheum as a poster firm to represent Gensler’s position that no new laws are needed to regulate and police crypto in the U.S.
Ooh. That is quite a serious question indeed.
168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 16, 2023, 02:12:10 PM
I saw a social media post saying a basketball team from Saudi is offering Harden a $900M deal. This is most likely a joke as I cannot verify or can't find the main source from my google searches. All I can see are funny memes and some even calling him "Osama Bin Harden" hehe. It would be absolutely crazy if they get offers like this. Imagine those jokes made by NBA players before regarding the offer on Mbappe and then someone actually gets signed.
Totally crazy and a crazy amount too. I don't think Saudi will be paying that much just to see him play. It's not like he is Jordan. Cheesy
Maybe it's all because of all the trend that is happening on social media on where James Harden will be traded. The 76ers seems to have no interest on what is being offered to them and they would like to just keep Harden instead. But instead of an easy way it actually backfired to them like the Simmons dilemma.

Hmm. So, they used the airdrop strategy to get more attention, but I wish this will not backfire to them. Most airdrop seekers are there to just take, sell, and run and that leaves the coin to be valued like a dust. The question is, where will the money come from when airdrop receivers try to sell what they got.
Old school but I doubt it will work in this era. We will see.
Quote
So many users tried to sign up for the airdrop on August 10 that the app crashed entirely. As of August 11, it had intermittent issues with loading, and new users were searching for any referral code they could find. Referral codes posted on Twitter exhausted within seconds.

Over 21,000 wallets have now transacted over 270,000 times on Friend.tech.

John Reed Stark. He has a long tweet just recently.

https://twitter.com/JohnReedStark/status/1690707913789112320?s=20

And Cointelegraph made an article about it.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/this-scenario-could-see-sec-gary-gensler-resign
Quote
John Reed Stark believes SEC chair Gary Gensler could throw in the towel, depending on a possible scenario to play out in 2024.

Quote
In an Aug. 13 tweet, the former SEC Office of Internet Enforcement chief predicted that a Republican President could drastically shift the crypto-regulatory tide, including the potential appointment of crypto-friendly Commissioner Hester Peirce to replace Gary Gensler as the agency's chairman.

Let's see how this will turn out.
Quote
Republican candidate Ron de Santis said he plans to “protect” Bitcoin and vowed to ban central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) if elected President.
I like this but I do wish this ain't just words from them to get more votes. With the cryptocurrency industry booming they might use it as their weapon to market themselves.

Quote
Despite a number of industry heavyweights from the world of traditional finance, such as BlackRock and Fidelity lodging applications for a spot Bitcoin ETF product, Stark believes the SEC will eventually reject all of the outstanding filings.

This connects to the recent news about The Jacobi Bitcoin ETF.

Quote
As previously reported by Cointelegraph, the offering was touted as the first spot or physical-backed Bitcoin fund which would allow investors to gain exposure to a financial product that is physically backed by BTC.

171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase on the defensive about these bitcoin ordinal centralized meme coins on: August 09, 2023, 01:52:42 AM
Coinbase has a blockchain that developers have been producing these memecoins instead of using the bitcoin blockchain for these ordinals.
The latest one was called bald I think due to the owner of Coinbase being this so they created a meme out of it and named the token. But since it was released last Friday the project had rug pulled their members and from what I heard the devs stole $22mln in only two/three days.
https://decrypt.co/150780/bald-token-liquidity-rug-pull-linked-to-sam-bankman-fried

The thing that is baffling is the blockchain was in testnet mode and not to released until later in the year according to this article:
"All of this drama occurred with one humorous caveat: the Base blockchain isn't even officially open to the public yet, with a proper launch expected later this year.
Base, built by crypto exchange Coinbase on OP Stack, launched its testnet in January and opened to builders in mid-July basis the submission of applications to Base. Traction has been scant, so far, except for Sunday when the likes of BALD led to a sudden rush in capital - and users - to the blockchain."
source: https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2023/08/01/bald-token-rugpull-may-have-links-to-sam-bankman-frieds-alameda-data-shows
You mean this one?
https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2023/07/31/bald-token-plunges-90-as-developer-pulls-liquidity/
Quote
Newly-launched bald (BALD) tokens on the Base blockchain fell as much as 90% after peaking on Monday as the token's deployer removed millions of dollars worth of liquidity, data shows.
I don't see the inception date, but I think this was created just recently and they really hyped it up at a high level but then it dropped to become a trash token.
Investors sentiment is also bearish, even in the lowest price, no one is buying it. This should be the time where we see the type of investors who likes to take advantage of the bear market of one token and yet nothing is going on.
They are busted obviously, and I don't think recovery will be soon, worst case scenario it will not happen. I am really sad for those who put their money here.

Gary Gensler takes some rest with cryptocurrencies, but that doesn't mean he forgets about the SEC cases especially with Coinbase.
Where his eyes at? AI technology.

Gary Gensler, the chairman of the S.E.C., has been studying the potential consequences of artificial intelligence for years. The recent proliferation of generative A.I. tools like ChatGPT has demonstrated that the technology is set to transform business and society.

But Coinbase is not stopping despite that.

172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon musk is for crypto or just for attention to boost Tesla, SpaceX? on: August 08, 2023, 12:48:30 AM
In my opinion, Elon is taking advantage of his popularity since a lot of people watching him. Whatever he do and suggests, people will follow because they believe Elon. Elon is a smart person, and he knows what he is doing. Just like what happened in doge last 2021, the price has exploded because of him. He invested before the price of doge exploded and I'm sure he profited a lot. Because of that, it benefit both of his project and in the community of crypto. In other words, "two birds in one stone".
True. He can actually manipulate the market on however he prefer. Either with his money or with his reputation. It's a cool thing but could be dangerous when abused. IMO, he took advantage of his position and now making more profits because of it. He has so many followers that they would also invest on where he will go.

News came out about the X company in San Francisco.
https://www.cnbc.com/2023/07/31/elon-musks-x-corp-seen-removing-giant-glowing-sign-in-san-francisco-.html?qsearchterm=elon%20musk

Talking about reputation. Despite that, there are still people who will be up against him especially if it's wrong.
Quote
Twenty-four complaints have been initiated with San Francisco’s Department of Building Inspections, a spokesman said. Those filing the complaints said the sign was put up without a permit, is unsafe, and is a nuisance. One said that its flashing lights made it hard for residents to sleep.
Let them sleep Elon. Cheesy

Here is Musk's response.
Quote
“San Francisco, beautiful San Francisco, though others forsake you, we will always be your friend,” Musk posted on X.

I am still waiting if Musk will try to inject cryptocurrencies in his new X company (formerly Twitter). It could boost the market of the industry if done right. They say the number of users went down because of the subscription payment but I do believe it's still a good platform for advertising business.
173  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why don't land-based casinos have an online version? on: August 07, 2023, 12:22:44 AM
Others have. Like BetMGM which is MGM as land-based casino and hotel. While others use a different name which I don't know what the reason behind is.

Why don't they maximize their service in online platforms? I think that is the big question here.
That's because they also want to maximize their profits in hotel and resort which is a big part of the business. The casino is most likely just for entertainment and leisure. Businesses who only focuses on casinos are most likely to not recreate their business thru online because it will require more documents and I believe another additional tax.
174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Avoid Procrastination, Buy Bitcoin And Prepare For The Next Halving. on: August 01, 2023, 01:00:39 AM
That's a good advice. I actually loved it. With this, it will lessen the number of people that will FOMO and then those who will cry before or after the halving that the price of Bitcoin cannot be bought anymore due to the expensive price. It always happen, and yet they don't really learn. What I don't understand is why they still doubt until now when we all know there is only one way Bitcoin will go. Up.
It's just the question of "When?" But for those patiently waiting this is not an issue anymore. They just keep on accumulating more and more Bitcoin and then wait for the harvest.

Maybe he doesn't really know what he is doing anymore because of too much alcohol running in his brain. It could happen, there are actually worst case than this.
Some drunk are going black out and would not remember what they did the night before their mistakes. Those who cannot control their alcohol must not even drink at all especially if there's already a case like this that would happen. I bet he is felling so ashamed right now and won't even go near an alcoholic beverage anymore or he will just lock his door in his room until he finds the strength to come out again.

Some of the EPL teams that went on pre-season tours to America I didn't watch much, it's less interesting even if it's just called their warm-up matches.

I just wonder how Liverpool will comeback again? I want to see Darwin Nunez as a sharp striker in Liverpool and create a great trio again.

Now just keep watching the transfer window to the Arab League. LOL

I saw @rdbase talking about EPL Summer Series in his thread. Sharing it here.
EPL has a USA tour which started and running until the end of July.
Two matches were played already and Newcastle ending in a draw 3-3 to Aston Villa last night.
Here are the remaining games left on the tour:

Great way to see new signings only down side there are only 6 EPL teams in this summer league.
There is a points systems to fight for a cup at the end.

178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Abuse ... on: July 24, 2023, 10:42:26 PM
what do you think about this?
Do you agree that gambling outside what gambling is meant for is abuse on gambling?
If you agree, what do you think should be done to gambling abusers if there was a way to catch them?
Should they be arrested and prosecuted same way drug abusers are arrested and prosecuted if caught?
The effects are what makes them a criminal and I do think our governments have the numbers of criminal activities which are related to gambling abuse. Now, if authorities don't find it as worst as how it does with drug abuse, then no arrest will happen.
There's actually a big difference between the two, a gambler who abuses gambling doesn't really end up robbing a bank because his mind is intact, he is just stressed out. A drug addict has a different type of effect with drug abuse because it literally affects his brains. IMO.
Should gambling abusers be punished? I don't think so, but they do need help.

It’s a sign that the players are being paid too much money in my opinion. This is why we keep seeing super teams popping up. Players taking less money to team up used to be honorable, but now they are all making so much money that people are praising star players for only taking 35-40 million dollars per year to help their team. Not to mention endorsements make up a big part of their income and they get more endorsements with championships under their belt.
They already know there's a lot of money coming in, so they take advantage of it. I don't think we will see another team who are paid less but can win a championship. Owners today don't even care about luxury tax anymore. They must be making more even if they need to pay that amount. It's business as usual but I am kind of curious how they can still make profits despite building a super team. Maybe a year or more we will see a player making $100 per year and it won't even be surprising anymore.
