Really quite sick of seeing people from NXT throwing shit in NEM related threads. The hypocrisy of it is annoying and it is otherwise just simply pathetic.

saying NXT "probably" consisted largely of sockpuppets is a massive understatement. The number of sockpuppets the NEM devs managed to remove was a big eye opener to how greedy and self centered most people are on BTT (which is of no surprise really as BTT is a small community).

Money talks, bullshit walks. One thing you can guarantee is most people did their utmost to own the biggest nxt share possible. Probably just a few Bitcoin whales looking for a toy to play with.

Would be a fair assumption that most of those 70 holders was actually significantly less in terms of unique people.

The biggest problem with nxt is not the distribution. It is what followed.

Like their "marketing"
(1) How "nxt" will help poor people.
(2) Anti-US clips (snowden and crap)
(3) Promoting features that are not implemented yet and might never and probably will not ever get implemented
(4) Stealing copyrighted videos and stamping nxt logo on them

And has anybody kept track of how many scams and thefts occurred on that platform? It is a very large number I am sure.

NEM does #1 and #3 also.

There are members in the NEM community that are just as bad as some members in the NXT community.

Like some average joe who wants to make it sound like he is from Nevada, hiding behind the trees of British Columbia, socking all over with new names and having verbal diarrhoea, hopping from one project to another project?

Yes, the entire crypto community should rid of these low lying scum bags and shit up characters. In any case, these are the people who are preventing the growth of the crypto economy. Don't know why they need to be here. They should be in some mental institutions instead. My analysis is they are all failures in life. Not probably, they are.
I don't live in British Columbia.

Don't want to know and don't care.
By the way, nice personal attack MR.Altnemo. Please show a post of mine where I have personal attacked anyone from the NEM community.

I think it's good and even necessary that they have such a large fund for development and marketing if it will indeed be used for such purposes and not personal gain.

Also btw what happened to the silver coin for stakeholders? No talk of that anymore.
I have seen this asked before but never answered.

Jabo30 I have to hand it to you, you sure know how to put a spin on things, however, you like to talk about might happen in the future but I like to talk about what has happened in the present. You know, the facts.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread -100% Original Codebase - Over 70 Active Team Members on: April 23, 2015, 12:56:55 PM
I shan't say more. You have equal purview to the same things I have. But whatever you said is a lie, if not,

You need to show why it's a lie. Originally the "fair distribution" slogan was based on the fact that 75% would be distributed. 10% were for developers and marketers. And 15% for future development.  Some people though that even 25% was pretty high as UP had also collected plenty of BTC and Nxt during the IPO.  That 25% number ended up becoming 71% at launch date as shown here.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1022311.0

That's your "fair distribution". Never mind that the worlds population is 7 billion  and 9.99995% of humans actually have zero nem. The whole idea of "fair distribution" is a joke to start with..

I am sorry but I have to agrre here for a moment. 71% coins held by the DEVs is not doing us much good with the people coming from the outside, but hey decision has been made and we have to live with it!!

The 71% number is complete and udder FUD. http://blockexplore.in/search/richlist/

74% of NEM is held by only 100 accounts, which looks worse until you release that almost 2/3 of that 74%, (e.i., almost exactly half of all XEM) is money being held not by individuals but by funds held in multisig accounts set aside for massive development and ecosystem projects. http://blockexplore.in/search/richlist/

Of those funds they are being held in multi-sig, devs are a minority signers.

And when you exclude those special funds to fuel projects, what is left is one of the most amazing distributions of any crypto.  http://blockexplore.in/graphs/bubble-chart-no-dev/

NXT FUDsters are coming in here with complete lies.  When in reality NXT was started by 70 people at most, but instead probably had lots of sock puppets.  On top of that even today 74% of NXT is all held by 0.13% of NXT account (143).  https://nxtblocks.info/#section/blockexplorer_distribution

Please notice how FUDsters provide no links or proof of evidence of their lying numbers, yet repeat it over and over again.

NXT is a good platform, but some of them are very shameful.

Jabo

With all respect to XEM team, please don't use PROBABLY, when you try to compare facts. Nobody knows and nobody will know, how it was in reality with NXT distribution and sockpuppets, so let's forget about this and move on. I'm sure there will be left some sockpuppets also in XEM distribution, but I'm not saying it as a fact, it could be PROBABLY. If you try to discuss with facts, so please discuss with real facts, not with PROBABLY.

P.S. 74% of XEM is held in funds, PROBABLY multisig key holders are the same sockpuppet person. Is it fact or what? Smiley

P.P.S. I hold both, NXT and XEM.

EDITED: some typing erros.

74% being held in funds is complete and udder FUD and a total lie. Please stop saying this!

How many times do I have to post the links to block explorers? http://blockexplore.in/search/richlist/

almost exactly 50% of funds are held in multisig accounts to fund future projects. http://blockexplore.in/graphs/bubble-chart/

The other half has been distributed.  http://blockexplore.in/graphs/bubble-chart-no-dev/

Furthermore, I don't have any proof so I deleted my comment that you took offense too.

50% distributed is a far cry from the 75% that NEM was talking about before the release.

Sorry if its covered here in previous posts. But I didn't catch those for some time.

Just to be clear, To 'Start Local Harvesting' I need 10,000 (Ten Thousand) Vested XEM Balance or 1000 (One Thousand) Vested XEM Balance ??

I have more than 1900+ Vested XEM Balance, and getting:

Quote
ERROR 700
The provided account does not satisfy the basic criteria for harvesting. Mainly it is related to the amount of XEM within the account. Harvesting starts with at least 1000 XEM.

If it's 10,000 Vested XEM, can I have a link to bug submission link?
If it's 10,000 I see it not corrected in the latest 0.6.28 update. When are we expecting it to be corrected?
This has been reported many times already, it will be fixed #SOON

Blockchain pruning will be included with the next release of NXT. This could be the end of NEM.

message pruning lol how groundbreaking
to all those people that think this isn't important should read this:

https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/maximum-block-size-is-too-restrictive/msg173057/?PHPSESSID=drpfanfsfkt7hcd5j9quc4o4v5#msg173057

NEM people are starting to become arrogant, look at how big the NEM blockchain is and that is mostly from one person.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is archcoin a great investment or just pump and dump? on: April 16, 2015, 02:00:25 AM
it's a pump and dump just like all of the others.  No one believes in crypto anymore, just fiat profit.  Invest in this shit and prepare to lose your ass.
NEM people don't like when others go into their thread and spread fud but it's ok if the NEM people do it?
Here is a quote of yours taken from the NEM thread:
"In other words, fudbuster is fudding and full of shit."

A brief clarification and overview

I think it's very important to understand and clarify some things here as some people are unsatisfied with our current situation and this may well be due to some unrealistic expectations. While I make this point, do note that we read everything and appreciate every bit of thoughtful criticism we can receive.

Who is responsible for unrealistic expectations?  You guys. Just a week before the launch, makoto1337, the developer, was claiming the marketcap would be 30 million at the launch.

Well I didn't see this coming.  I thought XEM had promise but this downward slide since launch is disconcerting.  I expected an initial dump but also expected a correction upward that hasn't happened.  There doesn't appear to be any kind of game plan.  Those behind this coin need to get out front and center now to rally the troops.  I'm not selling my stakes but I hate to take a loss and add another blemish to my almost spotless track record of picking coins.  And I'm getting that uneasy feeling that you get when something doesn't feel right.  So is there a plan for this coin and if so what is it?

We have a long term plan and tech roadmap that will make NEM the best designed and most useful block chain platform in existence. Revealing everything now would just let someone come in and build it before we do. We will reveal some parts of it once they are close to being released.
sorry but the blockchain can be bloated easily and weaker nodes can  be made to lag behind the chain.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread -100% Original Codebase - Over 70 Team Members on: April 10, 2015, 01:39:10 PM
Do I have to do something to get these ominous "vested XEM" or is it enough to have the client running?
It's the time that matters, you don't have to keep the client running.

Please be more specific.
every 1440 blocks (everyday) 10% of your XEM gets vested, once you have 10,000 vested XEM you can harvest. You don't need to have your pc on for vesting, the network does it for you.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread -100% Original Codebase - Over 70 Team Members on: April 09, 2015, 07:56:39 PM

I am actually worried by the lack of volume! Volume is non existent and we have very fast joined NXT out there by volume. There is no volume, no selling and buying which means nobody is interested! How come no one is interested when whole crypto community was waiting on NEM to be launched? To me, something doesn't add up here.

1. There is over 8 billion XEM supply (which is just stupid)
2. Over 4 billion XEM not in circulation
3. Most of the crypto crowd already have some
4. People are waiting for the price to drop before buying more.
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread -100% Original Codebase - Over 70 Team Members on: April 09, 2015, 07:35:36 PM
HERE WE GO! BIG THANKS!
800 more XEM and I can start. Keep on sending!

no, you need to have 10,000 VESTED xem. XEM gets vested at 10% per day. There is an error in the popup, it says 1000 but it is wrong. Again, 10,000 VESTED XEM and not just 10,000 xem

LET'S HARVEST!

To start harvest, I need one ore more XEM. Please send me some: NDBG4M-CMZFTX-QQ6LVX-7XTBGH-6EWHMJ-XYF3DG-L7QT

Thanks!
you need 10,000 VESTED xem to harvest

Is there a statistic somewhere to see how many stakes haven't been claimed by their owners yet? It would be interesting how many XEM are currently not in "circulation".
there are roughly around 4752562798 XEM not in circulation. These are being held in various multisig accounts for development/marketing

makoto1337 -

what problem does NEM solve for people?
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread -100% Original Codebase - Over 70 Team Members on: April 07, 2015, 06:55:59 PM
NIS needs to be booted. Please open your wallet and boot a local node via the popup dialog or configure the auto-boot setting. (at block 12001)

how to fix?

top right of the client you will see a "settings" menu.. in there you will see "boot local node".. select that option, name your node anything and hit "boot".. that should be it..

also, if you havnt updated in the last 2 hours, then you are not up to date. the version i posted was only released a matter of hours ago and afaik the previous version was also V0.6.26. its a security update so i dont think it came with a new version number.
6.25 was the release and now 6.26, only two releases so far
