For a locked account I guess a Global Moderator can unlock it. Not 100% sure but I guess I have seen somewhere hilary posted it. Excuse in advance if I am wrong for both hilary and Global Moderator  Smiley
1602  Other / Meta / Re: My account was hacked and I didn't use a Bitcoin address.. on: July 08, 2018, 11:19:52 PM
I haven't sent/posted a Bitcoin address, mainly because I don't use Bitcoin.
I am afraid without a singed bitcoin address you have not much chance to get the account back. However if you have an ETH address quoted by another member then you can sign that address and give it a try. I guess global mods can unlock lock accounts.

In case you do not know how to sign a message for ETH address:
1603  Economy / Reputation / Re: What happened to Nullius on: July 08, 2018, 10:37:03 PM
We have talked about this a lot in the past several weeks in different topics.

The latest we know is....
Let satoshi and nullius accounts Rest In Peace, let us stop bothering their accounts instead.
And this was a response about a topic where we found a new nullius was WAS rising  Tongue
1604  Other / Meta / Re: New spam bot? [how do they do it?] on: July 08, 2018, 10:28:55 PM
Just 6? I've seen like 600 accounts involved in spamming similar to this (last January).
Yes those popped up on my email. I am not a data center like you  Tongue

Quote
I think it's a bot that spams the same message on many accounts, to make it harder to nuke them all. And if the account survives, it just continues spamming the next day.
Yes, that's the whole concept behind creating multiple accounts and they are doing it well I guess.

Anyway I have seen the patrol page but never used it so I don't think I got rest lot that you and BitRentX was having. But I did understand that BitRentX banned some accounts which is good.

These spammers need to know that things are being monitored and they can not escape anymore.

1. How do they bypass cloudfare?

"We also block threats and limit abusive bots and crawlers from wasting your bandwidth and server resources.

Looking at this image and the quoted contents - I do not think cloudfare do much against bots. They only put some limits. May be these bots are designed having these limits in mind.

So, better you can pm me and I will write the Bengali for you. I don't mind to take a little fee, lol. I'm kidding. I will be happy enough to help you.
Hi pk, can you just translate that paragraph only please  Smiley

If I have bigger task (Translation job) which pay worthy then definitely I will have you in mind.

Thanks
1606  Economy / Services / Re: 0.3 BTC to the one who identify a Website owner on: July 08, 2018, 07:11:33 PM
This looks like an investigation type topic. If anyone ends up finding the details then they can not post it here because of the forum rule. Any private info about anyone should be in the Investigations child-board. I suggest OP to move the topic to the Investigations section.

Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Trading Discussion > Scam Accusations > Investigations

Just in case if you do not know how to move a topic then please follow this: How to move a topic

Trying to get my head around the signed message
Tutorial link is on my earlier post.
Also use an address which was quoted before by anyone else in the forum or the one is on my earlier post. Once you can prove the original ownership then I can fill the loan.

Hope you understand why I am asking all these.

Thanks
1609  Economy / Lending / Re: 0.016 loan on: July 08, 2018, 05:41:06 PM
Hi,

Looking for loan of 0.016btc for trading , lenders don't seem to be around today ?

Payback  will be  0.018 and expected payback date is 19 July 2018, but hopefully before.
Early payback won't affect the rate.

Offering this account as collateral ...

Don't have signed address & not even sure what it means.

Already have used BCT to obtain loan before which was repaid on time.

BTC address is
13W29GUdc32q8vDUXkvNbqWQNhNS6zZiiL

cheers & good luck

Will be replying in few minutes...
Do you have any old BTC address that was quoted before? From your trust page I see the email has been changed recently. A quoted BTC address and then signing the address may help.

How about signing this address:

1611  Other / Meta / Re: New spam bot? [how do they do it?] on: July 08, 2018, 02:30:18 PM
As per my experiment, I've tried to make a new account and only have 4 accounts in total on 1 IP, then the next account was caught by devil IP.
I created one ALT account and it's caught by evil IP and was asking for 0.005BTC. I had/have a big cause to create that account which I do not want to disclose in public however since it's asking me for 0.005BTC I thought let's have a break LOL. So since then I am not using it.

Anyway, we really - really need to find a way to get rid of these spammers.

I can't find post where I can learn something else.
I partially disagree. There are a lot of stuffs in the forum which are useful to gain exclusive knowledge. At-least for me - so far I have all these (Personal Gains) personal development from the forum which I doubt I would ever had if I was not a member here.

@iwasneverhere I like this wwf gif LOL

Thanks mate. I reported two and rest of then were taken care of already. They were deleted.
1613  Other / Meta / New spam bot? [how do they do it?] on: July 08, 2018, 02:09:42 PM
So the easier way for me to report the posts which I will do after posting this however I wanted to bring it in your attention.

I have my email notification ON for several boards which I watch of-course. This is something I noticed when I checked my email...

In 20 minutes same topic were posted (Looking a the topic title). I thought this is usual spambot and same user was posting it. When I was checking the topics to report then I realized that contents are same but the accounts are not!!! Have a look (I archived all for reference)

nencipitua1982 ==> http://archive.is/2EveB

pogenpuvir1983 ==> http://archive.is/e1Xzi

arpsicsubscons1977 ==> http://archive.is/TR0g4

tiasicafou1974 ==> http://archive.is/qveGV

spamretlialter1976 ==> http://archive.is/kfgCL

seytendxihu1989 ==> http://archive.is/Yr5IJ

6 different users but the contents are the same!

After looking at their registration time I noticed 3 of them were created yesterday (arpsicsubscons1977, pogenpuvir1983 and seytendxihu1989 on July 06, 2018, 11:53:10 AM - July 06, 2018, 11:55:02 AM and July 06, 2018, 12:06:01 PM respectively) and other 3 were created today (tiasicafou1974, spamretlialter1976, nencipitua1982 on Today at 01:20:43 PM - Today at 01:24:19 PM - Today at 01:38:59 PM respectively).

So, looks like each day this person or company is creating 3 accounts to spam the same contents in different boards. May be they are using a new type of spambot to spam the forum with new strategy.  My question is/are...

How do they do it - Don't they get caught with evil IP score?
Aren't they breaking any rule to get banned? If we don't have any rule against them then Isn't it right thing to ban them?

This is really a big issue for the forum and we need to stop it.

1615  Other / Meta / Re: Is the forum over regulated? on: July 08, 2018, 09:26:47 AM
Generally speaking the incentive is the higher rank you are, the more money you can earn with less effort. Yes, the forum is not intended that way. But, let's face it. That's what's happening.  People complaining and defending about merit. Those whiners complain about merit because of that incentive. Those defending merit don't want these shitposters to rank up and ruin the forum. Previously, ranks are determined by activities and then merit was introduced.
So you are saying merit has been introduced only to protect ALL higher rank members? Lower rank will not be able to get merits and they will not rank up? So, the higher ranks has less competition now?

Well - it sounds a plan, isn't it? Wrong!!!

You are talking about the higher rank members who did nothing for the forum but shit posted and raked up to earn money from the signatures. I feel shame for them, they just got the advantage.

How about those early adopters who left the forum long ago and before they left they gave a lot to the forum? As a result you and me are seeing the demand of the forum and Bitcoin these days. How about those higher rank members who are still active on the forum and every single day they are working to improve the forum environment? They started this long ago and still they are continuing their journey to make it a better place for everyone and to help Bitcoin to evolve. They deserved it.  Without these people - Bitcoin would never spread, the forum would not be the one it is today, even - you would not come to the forum at the first place!

Look, every system/idea needs to start from some point. Idea like merit system was needed to improve the forum experience and we are seeing the positive results. People think at-least twice before making a post because they are now more focused on creating good contents rather than throwing out something which does not make sense (I am not saying people are not shitposting anymore, there are members who are/will and they will never rank up and TBH the forum is not for them).

Quote
What if we remove all these activities, merits and ranks?
Don't need to.
Those who deserves merit they are earning it. Have a look on this list: List of members achieved 0 to 100 and plus merits
These members had started from 0 merit, they did not even have 10 initial merits like you but they became full members. Not only them there are other lists as well which I am working on. DdmrDdmr has created an entire dashboard to analyse how merits are working. Members are becoming full member, full members are becoming Sr. Member, Sr. Members are becoming Hero and Legendary and it's from the stats not something made up like you are having in your imagination. So what's wrong? It's working perfectly.

Quote
I'm sure there are people who can promote well in good ways without having rank. And, projects that are serious won't have problem with that. All they need is to reach potential users, not high rank hypocrites, except the unethical or scam projects, right? It will remove incentive for ranking up, merit abuse, account trades and best of all, there won't be desperate posters in meta section. (How's that? Cheesy)
 Spam and bot problems in the announcement and altcoin sections. Why bother mods and members with that problem? Let the campaign managers handle it by self moderating their topic.(In fact, that's what campaign managers are already doing. They saw every post made on their thread. If they saw spam, report or ban that user from the thread.) Create a subsection, something like 'Spammy ICOs' (shady ICOs, whatever) and  If the campaign managers fail to moderate spam, report that thread to mods and mods will remove the topic to that subsection. In that way, if these ICOs are using bot, they have to compete with other bots. What can be the potential problems by doing so?
ALL junk so excuse me, I pass.

Sorry no disrespect - are you echoing for yourself? I gone through the first three pages of your post history. Except this (OP) post - I could not find any other post where you actually tried to put any thought before posting. All of them are in Altcoin Discussion (heaven for spammers) board with one or two exceptions.

Some of your replies:

As of the moment, I had stopped my day trading. It is very unbearable to watch the market bathe in red. I am now just focusing on my bounty campaigns and earning more crypto which I can hold as I wait for the complete turn over of the market. I have invested in some coins, too, but now that the market is unstable, I'll just have to rely on some of my other means of earning via fiat.
Quote
Thinking of quitting the world of cryptocurrency just because you can't handle a few minor dips is a good enough reason to think that crypto is not for you. In terms of investments, hodling and trading, it was never intended for people with weak hands. However, if you do decide to leave now, I am quite sure that you are going to regret it soon at the near future and will always scold yourself for giving up halfway through. don't lose hope.
Quote
I don't think there is a danger to crypto. The right term to use would be "risky". It is risky in sense that you could lose all of your investments in a short period of time, risky in a sense that it is anonymous, risky in a sense that it is prone to being hacked and risky in a sense that transactions are irreversible. There is a huge border that separates risky and dangerous. Although, both cases requires a person to be safe and be cautious at all times.

Don't you think people don't even bother to read these kind of repetitive posts?

First off, the language barrier. We all know the fact that English is the universal language, but it is NOT the only language there is. Therefore, creating a high quality post in English is too difficult for a non-English native, thus, they are having difficulty with their grammar and syntax. Sometimes, the language barrier is just too strong and English is not something one can learn in an overnight.

Now, one may say that, there are local boards where they can earn some good merits. But taking into consideration the relation between the merit source and the number of user in a local board, it is simply not enough. In my local board, no matter how constructive or great some of their posts are, it is simply not enough to earn a merit due to the lack of merit sources.
Nothing can stop if someone is willing to learn and apply. Here are a list of people who achieved 100 and more merits from 0! All of them were either newbies or Jr. Members. Dig deep, you will find there are members who are not native English speakers as well. I do not see any excuse. The biggest excuse is the person himself, who is failing to get merit. The person needs to realize it that s/he needs a change. The system/concept is working fine. Don't blame it.

Third, I find the merit system more prone to spam since a lot of people are trying to post more, hoping for a merit source to spot their posts. I also noticed more and more threads are being created because of this reason as well. Although, it is nice to see that the quality of most of the member's post have improve.
Partially true but don't forget that everything has it's pros and cons. If the pros are greater than the cons then consider it a success. So far, merit system IS a success for the forum. There are few people who abused/are abusing it but comparing with the benefit of the merit system these negative impacts are really minor.

Jesus Christ! Another topic about the Merit system...
I would say this one is not as boring as the others we see every day. I found it a bit different. OP really had a lot of thoughts in it before posting it.
