Why would you tag anyone for breaking forum rules?
That is forum issue, not trust issue, unless it is something illegal, shady etc.

Things that can get people negative trust from a DT are:
Attempted or successful fraud or theft.
Business activity that resulted in the loss of funds by others.
Account sales
Merit sales / swapping
Harassing a DT
Offering escrow without a track record
Asking for a no collateral loan
Shilling / advertising MLM or ponzi
Escrowing for themselves
Late loan repayments / loan defaults.
Any other untrustworthy or illegal behavior.

1102  Other / Meta / Seeking another reporting suggestion on: August 14, 2018, 04:43:24 AM
The area of report to moderator is so diverse that sometimes I feel even the masterpiece from Welsh is not enough (Welsh, by no means I am questioning your work. That topic truly is a masterpiece). I know hilari AKA hilariousandco always discourage me (and others I guess too) to create topics for reporting issues instead s/he encourage to hit the report to moderator button. But sometimes it's too confusing to hit the button.

This is what the report function is for. Banned.

Leave the report to moderator aside, truth is seeking attention of mod by creating topics also does not work much. Too many spammers. Here are some examples:
1.
So, far we have 21 pages now which means in the last 24 to 30 hours they have generated more 14 new pages!
Latest archive (just now) - Do you see any significant change? It was 21 pages but now it's still almost the same. 21 and 19 do not have much gap.

I understand marlboroza said this...
I reported only last one and wrote nice comment to moderators to check whole thread because it is full of shitposters.

But looks like non - worked!

2.
Same message repeating on all the topics. archive

The users post history is 8 pages long so far and most of the posts (except 1 or 2) are the same copy paste.
Latest archive (just now) - again do you see any significant change?

So after seeing that hilariousandco to get annoyed, I tried marlboroza and hilariousandco style...
3.
Topic: [ANN][Airdrop] 🔥 MeYou 🔥 - Ecological-autonomic Distributed Social Network
Comment on report to moderator page:
Quote
spamming pattern (attention mod: stating from this post to the end more 6 pages, most of the posts are spammy. I will check later to see if they were taken care of)
Latest archive (just now) - I checked back and still no significant change.

Anyway my point is - It's really hard to fight the spams. I do not see any fault or lack of enthusiasm from the mods/stuffs. It's pretty clear that we need more mods to share the workload.

Furthermore, before I seek another suggestion for reporting which was the original intention of this topic I want hilariousandco and other mods to understand that when I create a topic about reporting, I just don't create it to increase the number of posts, or to get merit or to seek attention for myself (self promotion). I create it because I am not sure what to do (either explain everything on the report page comment section #3 or to create another topic to get attention of the mod to take care of the topic #1, #2)

Straight to the knowledge seeking:
It's the same topic (3). I found out the topic creator MeYoutoken is basically posting in a row too many that if you start surfing from the third page of the topic then you will see the next few pages has only his responses. It looks like spamming however it also looks like s/he is responding the queries.
Post history of MeYoutoken.

Quote
32. Posting multiple posts in a row (excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter) is not allowed.

So what do I call it?
bumps?
reserved posts?
It's clearly response though
It's clearly spamming IMO as well
It's clearly posting in a row (extreme)
What should be my explanation when I comment on the report to moderator page?
Why don't we just lock the topic to stop these spammers?

PS: Thanks for moving my last topic (Finally a Sr. 😊) to the off-topic section. It has nothing to do with the forum itself.

Cough! cough!! excuse me guys!!!

How to use Search function / find your mentions on topics

This is how I do it...

1. Go to search function
2. type your username in between a double quotation mark. e.g: "mdayonliner"
3. Enter a rough message age: For example 2 by replacing 9999, you can keep 9999 but in this case the search will bring everything and it will take long time.
4. Finally click the Search button.

PS: Sometimes this search function acts weird but most of the times it's really helpful. When it acts weird then try changing the number for step 3.

This is an alternative way I use since we do not have any notification or stuffs once someone quotes or mention you.

...can we start allowing mods in the marketplace to close/delete...

It could be nice however problem is that scams are not moderated. However I see DT tags the users whenever they find anything suspicious.

As a community member if you find anything specious then create a topic on the Scam Accusations board and try to get the attention of the DTs. Make sure you have enough evidence so that the DTs do not need to waste their time. Together we all can make the forum a better place rather leaving everything on mods hand.

From my observation I noticed, first response always plays a big role to take the topic in certain direction. Thanks LogitechMouse to give this topic a good start. So far, it is a peace zone @DdmrDdmr  Smiley

Thanks 1993jochico for the kind words. This community is a big part of my daily life. From the responsibility, I do my best to keep it safe and clean for me as well as for everyone else.

@Retty: I have no idea how it felt back then when there were no merit but no doubt that ranking up now a days is a complete satisfaction. It's a great feeling. I guess the feeling should be the same even if there were no merit as well, as long as you know you were a part of something big. Thank you cindyprem and r1s2g3

How much does bitcoin talk charge for this purposw of matketing and advertising?
The forum does not charge you a single penny for any kind of advertising unless you want a spot just underneath an original topic.

There is one just underneath your original topic too.

1117  Other / Meta / Re: Deserved or ass licking? on: August 13, 2018, 10:31:15 AM
It depends, I am on the same page as LoyceV. You can not just generalize. Let me give you another example...

User Zapo is doing some great job on his signature campaigns. He is just a member not a Legend or even a full member yet (possibly an alt of someone but we just can't say that).

Hey @Zapo,

I just stumbled upon this thread, and I had to stop and say this: You are doing a great job (so far) in the application process.

You're selection process is very responsible, and I love the way that you're handling the applicants and process in itself. Kudos to you. We need more campaign managers like you!

I really hope that you stick to your style and don't accept shitposters just to fill the spots... Doesn't seem like you would, but please don't get discouraged. Good luck with the campaign management, and I hope to see more of you in the future!

Enjoy the merit and positive trust!
This was from BTCforJoe and we all know BTCforJoe. If you read the users bounty topic then you will understand that this is no way ass licking. Zapo deserved it 100%. BTCforJoe even left a positive trust for him.

This user is running a new signature campaign (for IOU), and is doing so responsibly. They are checking each application and post history, which is apparent throughout the application/acceptance process. Although the campaign is for an alt coin, they are choosing to follow and enforce the strict guidelines for the campaign, except for a few hand-selected approvals for outstanding members. Kudos to this user; we need more campaign managers like this!

If you are seeing someone is doing extra ordinary job to help out the community which is ultimately benefiting the forum then don't hesitate to encourage then with whatever you have. I see another positive trust from jacee too. Giving a thumbs up encourage the person to do more who is already doing some good job.

PS: Some may say I am ass-licking for zapo coz he accepted me on one of his signature campaign even though I have a negative trust.
...you are quite a popular figure and have earn't quite a lot of merit. Added to sheet.
The truth is, I am not ass-licking. I can assure you that if you read his signature campaign topic and observe his selection process then you will also have a positive thought about him even if he reject you from one of his campaign.

I had this thought too like OP and others have that meriting an ANN or bounty is bribing or sort of things. While in most cases we see the licking but there are cases like zapo, DarkStar_ and LoyceV and few others that these are well deserved.
1118  Economy / Reputation / Re: Most clever connected account & merit abuser on: August 12, 2018, 07:38:33 PM
Its kinda strange to see someone like you trying to save these kinda merit abuser Sad.Your knowledge box will be much updated after knowing that two of the accounts here already connected. so its gonna better to change the idea to save them from DT members Action Mate.
LOL don't start finding something where nothing exists. I have explained what I think. I also expressed my opinion about the accounts I am not sure about and also the accounts I think are clean. Sure DTs will make their decision coz I do not make them to decide what they want to decide.

If these members (all of them or some of them) are proven guilty then they are guilty. If they are not then they are clean. My goal was to give a direction to the DTs to think about the possible circumstance before they make a judgement.

Considering the given proofs and explanation, DT members will most likely not take this case seriously. There is not enough evidence of anything. All I was doing while trying to understand your connections is this

I know lol but these dude seems very serious to GET THEM A RED TAG LOL

I am not saying if anyone proven guilty then don't tag them. Of-course tag anyone who is proven confirmed guilty.
1119  Other / Meta / Re: Re: What are Signature Campaigns? is this thread closed? I have questions on: August 12, 2018, 07:28:15 PM
Your questions are very stupid ones however I am trying to answer ...

Quote
1. If another user has some signatures is there a way to see how much the user has earned from the sigs?
Ask the manager LOL
common sense - learn how to find their wallet address and check the address if they have one.

Quote
2. Are higher ranked users, Legendary, Full Member, Member, paid different rates for carrying the sigs?
Depends on the manager.
Another commons sense - Normally yes, it's different rate.

Quote
3. If a user ignored the May 24, 2015 direction to change his password, had a higher than Jr. Member status, and had his username hijacked, and the hijacked username now has a string of sigs, and the ethernet address posted shows large amounts of eth moving through, is there anything the real owner of the username need to worry about?  If he's in another time zone on another continent will that disrupt my sleep or would that be something to do with the large amounts of eth moving through?
Not very clear but I do not see a bitcoinTalk account and an ETH wallet will have any connection at all.
Common sense - BitcoinTalk is not a currency or wallet  Tongue

Who is soy by the way?  Roll Eyes
1120  Economy / Reputation / Re: Most clever connected account & merit abuser on: August 12, 2018, 07:22:54 PM
I don't think how can you put another topics here . TWO of the account already connected and its proven too. Obviously DT members investigate any matter before taking any steps. If anyone taking the side of prohibited activist its another rules breaking issue. Enough proofs already submitted and now it goes to DT members hand to taking action. These guys is a combined group in my opinion and i think so.

I see where you are coming from ....

Note : Sagor0707 & siddu67 is connected already proved
I did not notice that however you I will still say that you have not read my answer very carefully...

Quote
So the sagor0707 case is not very clear.
Quote
I have no idea about siddu67 too so I really don't know if they are connected or not.

These means that I am not sure about them.
