funny you say that because it was a girl who posted "make up video" and it earned her 11k.
I'm always getting frustrated when a see some big pump (STEEM's rise in price was not natural), because a lot people are dragged into and eventually leads to big (if not huge) personal losses. I did some fast research (like 20-30 mins) on STEEM and the way I see it some posts could earn like $250 to the original poster. As far as I understand, these money should be paid by users, not by STEEM itself. The user iamnotback said something about the Facebook's profit from it's users. and this raised some concerns in me. I also did some (again fast) research on Facebook. Here is a graph for reference: According to this graph, Facebook earns about $3.73 per user on average, on every three months (i.e. ~$15/year). FB alone has about 1.65 billion monthly active users, which means that their revenue is about $24,618Bn/year. Yeah, but it's seems that this math is wrong, because according to several sources, FB's revenue for 2015 is around $18Bn. I only have 2 questions. 1. Why do you think a post on steemit should worth $250? 2. How they will deal with posts containing illegal materials? My personal opinion is that STEEM is doomed to FAIL. Full thread

Yeah, too bad that I've sold my stash long time ago. Opportunities come and go. Same goes for the money.

I payed attention. EVM + payment channels is exciting news for Bitcoin. I'm paying attention since long time ago, but currently I just can't afford to invest. I'm following (though not closely) Counterparty since the beginning.

I don't care who he is, but as long as he dares to ask such a stupid question without looking for an answer himself first, which didnt take me more than 30seconds, then yes, he is a clueless person. Its 2016 we all have acces to information, even he does.
Please find yourself one of the 17635364 threads about Ethereum and give your "opinions" there!

You call Barry Silbert a clueless person? ROFLMAO!!!!!!!

This shit doesnt have 10% of ethereum potential
Yeah, right. We all saw how EF handled $200Mn+ in funds. That's why serious investors like Barry Silbert are asking some questions. But you, of course, know better. bitcoin halved and as i expected the halving itself didnt bring any more value, therefore theres no profit to be made with bitcoin.
Yet another bs. Who do you think moves the Bitcoin price? People with $5 in their pockets? It all comes to supply and demand. Serious people are now waiting. It can't happen in 5 days.

There is something else to worry about. What will happen with the price once trading is enabled on Bittrex? I would sell right away if I had any.

I agree with you both, but what they are trying to do something that requires a lot of funds, not to mention that I already raised some concerns about how it will evolve, and if this model would work. I will repeat that I didn't make deep researches on STEEM, but the way I see it... it will FAIL.

I cant not recall a single website it can not be hacked, we have seen it everywhere and we continue see that kind of incidents the question is how they will proceed in future and handle it , and last but not least every crypto currency has its own drama!
You're right, but the question here is how they are handling the funds (i.e. distribution). As far as I know there was no ICO/crowdsale in steem, but I'm not sure that everything is transparent.

There you go... another DAO.... "Steemit announced on their website that they were hacked. The attack, according to them, has compromised about 260 accounts. A little less than US$ 85,000 worth of Steem Dollars and Steem are reported to have been taken by the attackers. In the security announcement CEO of Steemit Ned Scott said: “User accounts and wallets are not at risk, and we hope to soon reactivate the Steemit website to normal order. Any users whose accounts were compromised will be completely reimbursed.” Law enforcement informed At the moment it appears that the virtual currency itself has not been compromised but only the Steemit website has had issues. Steemit have informed their partner exchange Bittrex, who are helping with the investigation of the hacking incident. Steemit have also informed authorities including the police and the FBI of the hack. What is being done Some hours later Steemit have released another statement which says that they have been able to coordinate elected witnesses to secure compromised accounts which have balances of more than US$ 100. Ned Scott the CEO further states that: “Within the next 48 hours, Steemit will begin to allow all newly secured accounts to reset their passwords simply by logging in with the same Facebook or Reddit credentials that were used to register in the first place. This easy process will work for the vast majority of the potentially compromised accounts. All of these account holders will regain full access to their funds and their original account name.” Refund for users Bittrex, on their part, temporarily suspended deposit and withdrawal of Steem and Steem Dollars at their exchange. Steem has asked its users to contact their support team at contact@steemit.com if their account was not created through facebook or reddit. For the users that used their social networking Ids to create the account, they will be able to login using the same credentials they originally used within 48 hours. It is expected that most users will be able to regain full access to accounts and funds. Steem it is advising their users to reset account passwords. Ned Scott in his communique has assured users again that “Any Steem or Steem Dollars stolen from compromised accounts will be fully refunded by Steemit.” Source: http://cointelegraph.com/news/steemit-website-hacked-ceo-promises-to-reset-accounts-in-48-hours

There are 2 main problems. 1. People. 2. Adoption.
If people "invest" in projects, which are active for quite some time, and stop thinking only about fiat (or BTC) they could earn, then we can have better adoption (and less shitcoins). There are many ideas with their own niche and a lot of coins (or whatever) can find theirs (even if they are still 100s left). After all, the Earth is populated with more than 7.4 billion people.

Is this the only update in the last months? ps: it's a legit question... i looked in via topic and didnt find anything good(beside azure)..
Well, I always thought it has a bad marketing, but VIA has no updates (on the code), because currently it doesn't need them. If you can see there are close to 8k commits on the code and over 271 contributors. Take a closer look and you can see that there are several Bitcoin core developers among them: Bitcoin: https://bitcoin.org/en/development (for example - btcdrak, Petter Todd, fanquake, luke-jr are some of them) Viacoin: https://github.com/viacoin/viacoin/graphs/contributorsI really think that VIA is one of the best out there. P.S. I'm not saying "Buy"!!!

What's the point of this thread? Just curious
I have better questions. What's the point of your question, account in here and the coin in your signature? You haven't posted since 2014 and all of the sudden: "Buy TRUMPCOIN!!!". Not to mention that your password was reset just recently. Trying to have some more activity, eh? Why should anyone answer you?

Ain't Sellin' Shit...
You should have sold and buy back again imo. Such rise in price in cryptocurrencies is almost always unnatural.

was it not pointed out months ago that all you need to do if fill in a few forms, and Azure will add you?
As far as I know - yes. It worked for pumping coins for a while, until people found out that it is essentially meaningless!
I don't think that this is their intention. Viacoin was never been hyped (at least by their "team" (I am putting quotation marks, because unfortunately currently VIA barely has a team)). Just wanted to give some publicity to a coin, which was forgotten for quite some time, but the developer is still active. P.S. I do not own any VIA, thought I had like 130k before 1-2 years.
