16101  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have made a 25% return this week trading *against* the pirate on: July 23, 2012, 10:39:45 PM
Sure, it would be bullish but I've seen no evidence he is in a short squeeze.  Just a bunch of wild imaginations.

Okay okay how much do you have invested with pirate currently?

He's got a few BTC of mine.  So where's the evidence?

Dunno...asking the wrong person...

"a few"...like > 1000 BTC?

Why does it matter?  Why are you refusing to back up your accusations?

Where did I make accusations of a short squeeze?
16102  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: July 23, 2012, 10:35:50 PM

That doesn't state anything about RS abandoning the project, or members admitting the project is dead.  You love those sensational thread titles eh?  Smiley

All I see is a comment from an idiot

I guess we all have to wait a little longer and stand strong while being tested.
Does he think RS is some sort of god that is testing him?  ugh

Yes.

16105  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction we will hit $7.50 in the next 3 weeks. on: July 23, 2012, 10:24:08 PM
I disagree with the OP's prediction - lower support channel is in the 8.40's range. Accounting for the recent volatility and drawing channels incorporating the 'tails' of the daily bars gives a 8.00 support area - though that isn't a usual practice when determining trading trends and channels.

But that is what makes a market, I think one thing and someone is willing to come in at that price based on something else.

Time will tell who was right

theirs alot of good news around

my friends are thinking about putting a few $ in bitcoin ( shes trying to get rich off a ponzi scheme called "Team" ) so far all she did is wast her time driving around and going to meetings while spending 300$ entrance fee + more money here and there...

I'm like fuck that, cut your losses their and join bitcoin!

 Cheesy

price is Very unpredictable, but we can see the most likely path  Wink

Imagine if each of us got just one person to buy 1 bitcoin. If the current userbase is 30k people....that's 30k bitcoins bought...
16109  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BFL Averaging ~70 Bit-Pay Orders Per Day on: July 23, 2012, 09:25:22 PM
Sounds like a ton of btc/usd has been going into mining hardware.

Wouldn't be surprised if a ton of USD goes straight into buying BTC.

A ton already has, what do you think drove the price up to 9 the last few weeks?? Wink

I'm talking about in the future....duh lol...and yes I agree with you 100%
16110  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you guys think this will affect the price? on: July 23, 2012, 09:24:14 PM
I believe that this "car" is nothing more than a scam.  It simply doesn't exist, never will at the hands of these guys, and is nothing more than hot air to attract investments and pre-orders.

A guy named Paul Moller (moller.com) has been doing this very same thing for decades, promising a flying car that is, at any given time, always just around the corner.  His stats and his numbers and his technobabble and his mockups sound very convincing to the average investor, but to the eyes of a pilot or someone who has actually been in aerospace design, it's an obvious scam that will never fly.  To trained eyes, the people writing for him have NO CLUE about the state of the art of the aviation technology of today, let alone tomorrow.  It's like the specifications are written by marketers, not engineers.

He has been doing this for around FORTY YEARS!!!  Compare Today: http://www.moller.com - October 1974: http://www.downside.com/scams/moller/

This car is nothing different.

Anybody with the skills, talent, resources, and ideas to really develop the next-generation 100+ mpg car will have no problem getting so much investor funding they will literally be DROWNING in it.  They do not need to accept bitcoins or pre-orders.

They are likely accepting Bitcoins, because as the Bitcoinica debacle has shown, when you relieve people of their bitcoins in exchange for empty promises, right in front of their face and in broad daylight, you can get away with it, because the general populace barely understands what went wrong.  The same way the banksters of the world fleece us left and right and not a single one goes to jail.

Yeah you are probably right. But a car dealer accepting bitcoin isn't out of the picture. I worked for a dealership and it is basically the owner (whom I know very well) just saying "sure" to the idea of bitcoin.

that's the tough part...
16111  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction we will hit $7.50 in the next 3 weeks. on: July 23, 2012, 09:22:39 PM
Just my speculation that the bitcoin price will hit $7.50 in the next 3 weeks.

It goes against some people's predictions to see $10 bitcoins. Then again it could go over $10 and come back to $7.50. The market has done wierder things (go to $31 then to $2).

I'm tending to think we will pull back some as well.  The rush of BFL orders has tapered way off.  IMO the jump to 9 was caused by increased BTC demand to preorder ASIC's.  As the rate of preorders slows, the price of BTC will pullback.

+1...price will taper off for a while...

Do you have anything intelligent to say besides how you think it is "lame"?

Good video and good fundamental analysis to support prediction.

I certainly classify this news as big news, but do you think it'll have an effect?

http://wikispeed.com/wikispeed-team-blog/wikispeed-first-car-maker-in-the-world-to-accept-bitcoin-press-release

if the car becomes at all popular, its sure to effect bitcoin price

they are not as expensive as you'd think

but i need a van not a little sports car ....

This can change quickly if a car maker decides to accept it.
16116  Economy / Speculation / Re: [POLL] how many bitcoin millionnaires? on: July 23, 2012, 07:45:40 PM
I think there is only one person....Satoshi....any other players would have had to accumulate over time....i just dont see that yet...

Are you sure he was alone in 2009? He might not even have been the one reaping the most in that year... do we know this?

I'm not sure 100%. But I was being modest in my estimation.
16117  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you guys think this will affect the price? on: July 23, 2012, 07:42:04 PM
it's certainly increase awareness of wikispeed and bitcoin. imo, no instant price jump because of this news

Large price swings aren't good for bitcoin as a currency. Slow and steady rise over time is healthy. This news will get absorbed by the community over time.

16118  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you guys think this will affect the price? on: July 23, 2012, 07:38:29 PM
I believe this is huge. Buying cars with bitcoin!

I used to work for a car dealership and the process is so mundane with banks and credit apps etc etc etc
16119  Other / Off-topic / Re: More minirigs on the wild :) on: July 23, 2012, 07:28:23 PM

some time ago I got my minirigs from BFL , look at the smile on my face Smiley ,I want to thank everybody in BFL for their hard work.

What did you have to pay for those each in preorder?
