To be honest I don't know - but we have now two things coinciding some mainstream attention (with rather positive articles) plus some uptrend likely for a week or two. If that uptrend is sustained for long enough to intrigue new people into buying bitcoins - this can make a positive feedback loop.
Better be a huge influx of investors to get the price past $10.70. |

It wasn't bad luck, dude. It's bad luck only in the sense that I get to stare at low prices with envy, while my bank is holding my money, and never get a chance to buy at the crazy low prices. I initiated my Dwolla deposit last week, but thanks to the US holidays, am completely missing out on the low $6 price of the last few days. My suggestion to you is hold your money for a week or two and watch as the price goes down further. Patience is needed to execute good trades. |

I agree. It could go either way but currently I see no compelling reason for the price to skyrocket. It's not like it is going viral and everyone is using bitcoins right now for online payments. Once that happens the price will be justifiably going to the moon! |

If you watched the entire chart of solidcoins 0.011 is the resistance level it was at before it crashed when bitparking took their exchange offline. Let's see if it can break 0.011 and go to its old recent high of 0.015 and stay there. Yes when I made this post the price was 0.011 btc and then it plunged to 0.001 on the exchanges (not bitparking but the rest). So yes I called it correctly. Your point? EDIT: Look at when I posted this and what the price was when I posted it. Then look what happened to the price after that and how it moved. I'd think if it doesn't fork it will hit at least 0.015. As for "staying there", well, BTC isn't steady itself so I can't say. People, including yourself and Coinhunter, have been spending a lot of energy to make it look bad, and they can't keep it up forever. So maybe it'll do alright. How am I trying to make it look bad? Coinhunter did that job just fine without me. |

Later this month or early next month there will be panic selling pushing the price down to the $1.50 to $4.00 level.
Looking at the chart of close prices on a weekly basis for mt. gox the market will test the $6.00 weekly close once again and likely will break it.
We have had nothing but failures and let-downs:
1. Mt. Gox Hack
2. Bit-o-mat exchange failing.
3. Mybitcoin.com
4. Bruce Wagner's past being revealed and Bruce not following through on his word and promises he made concerning his show.
5. Alt-chains are coming out that pose as test scenarios/experiments that will eventually add more usable and desired features into a block chain than bitcoin.
6. There are an excess supply of bitcoins created everyday of which there is no new money or incentive for investors to buy them with.
I'm sure there are other bearing topics but I'll stop there.
All of that is old news now - most of it was already priced a month ago and number 4 was priced last week. You see the trend? The trend is pretty negatively srtong when it comes to publicity. |
