16661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone working on a litecoin stock market ? on: June 23, 2012, 02:26:18 AM
Why would this be needed when we already have a bitcoin stock exchange? "Because this uses ltc instead" is not a reason to me (unless you can explain why it should be).

An alternative to bitcoin is always a good enough reason.
16662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin ASIC mining lead to litecoin or namecoin adoption ? on: June 20, 2012, 02:23:43 AM
The adoption of ASIC by bitcoin miners will push GPU and fpga miners somewhere else. My thinking is it will be litecoin because namecoin is merge mined.

Protip: Buy/Mine all the  litecoins you can before October.

+1 Agreed. I think you will see a rise in price for litecoins over the next 12 months.
16663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Timekoin on: June 20, 2012, 12:37:36 AM
Would be nice to know how many blocks/coins have been generated to date.
16664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Timekoin on: June 19, 2012, 11:11:05 PM
What is the TLDR on Timekoins?

On a first quick reading it looks like knightmb is batshit insane. However that paper might make more sense on a second reading.

I'm attempting to set it up to see how it runs.

So I guess it is like this because of my solo mining  Tongue
I hope I can safely delete it...

Some of the people on here are trolling. The database files contain the blockchain and everyone's transaction history, not your private keys (those are stored in your wallet.dat.) There might have been an error in the code that caused your client to re-download the blockchain over and over, thus causing the 33GB worth of data. In any case, it is safe to delete all of the log.xxxxxxxxxx files in that folder, Litecoin\blkindex.dat, and Litecoin\blk00xxxx.dat.

EDIT: Restart Litecoin-qt.exe, and the client will proceed to re-download the blockchain.

Of course i'm trolling. =)

Of course trolling occasionally is fine for entertainment value, I just think LoWang is a bit confused right now.  Tongue

An I am entertained lol =)

You might want to keep it because maybe just maybe it contains 33GB of your litecoin private key for your wallet. LOL
16670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: database folder crazy big on: June 18, 2012, 09:37:06 PM
Hello, so please somebody tell me if I can delete the files in %appdata%\Litecoin\database
Why the heck does it keep growing and occupies 33GB now? I have now 330 log.000000xxxx files each with 100MB size. Is this normal?

LOL 33GB? Grin
16671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: June 18, 2012, 06:34:22 PM
can someone please explain this vunerability a bit more clearly... what can we do to prevent any bad goings on

An attacker could isolate a victim's node and cause the creation of blockchain forks.

Someone needs to "patch" the code.

That would only affect the "isolated node". A blockchain fork of litecoin would not affect the real main blockchain from what this sounds like.

As in the past a block chain fork the coins created would not be accepted (i.e. rejected) from the main blockchain.
16672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SC PRICE CRASH on: June 14, 2012, 09:04:53 PM
Reporting news 3 days after it was disclosed to the public = 100% troll.

Its like me making a thread about Bitcoin hitting $2 today when it happened a few months ago.
u still mad tho

Yeah I fucking am. I panic sold my Bitcoins at $2 at that time.

Bro you don't know the first thing about trolling. BCX and I are two of the ORIGINAL trolls for trolling shitcoin 24/7!

I personally think Theymos should create a Troll label like the Scammer label. Smoothie and I are on the Ninja level.
Pukanula is grasshopper level.

@Coblee

Ignore the idiots, they will ask questions they know the answer to just to hijack thread and bloat it with BS. Litecoin sounds like a plan.

I am working on some exchanges.

BCX whatever happened to this?

@Coinhunter

You're not fooling anyone LOL

Smoothie is a well known 100% troll and quite proud of it.

There's a big difference between a few days late and several months....

You know kinda like Microcash launching on May 10th and today being over a month later with no sign of it or word from the "dev team" LOL

Aww you guys missed me? That's so sweet....hehehehe

Smoothie is back!

It's not been the same without you, it's been a non stop round of idiots trolling other idiots while RealSolid tries to push his latest scam via a near endless supply of sockpuppet accounts and dedicated follower-morons.

No actually. It's been exactly the same without you. I just like your avatar, it reminds me I should eat more fruit.

LOL well eat well my friend! =)

I swear you add no value to this forum. At least I'm asking for some validity and light to be shed on the shit known as SC/MC. All you do is put up retarded pictures claiming how stupid us "bitcoin-trolls" are.

I disagree...  I only amplify how one dimensional you specific crew of MC$ haters really are which is very easy to showcase.  *winks*

Notyep, which is Peyton backwards is starting to sound a whole lot like Smoothie LOL

Hey, I thought I was smoothie Huh

Get your facts straight !

nah, Smoothie was at least likeable.

16680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A letter to the community from Matthew N. Wright on: April 15, 2012, 09:41:05 AM
Matthew,

I'd like to think of myself as an excellent judge of character, what with my background in social work/psychology and my experience as a counselor and therapist.  I also meticulously scrutinize the language that people use when they communicate as it is a direct reflection of their state of mind -- after all, people think with language, and if they don't make sense out loud or in print, chances are that they are similarly confused in their heads.

That being said, you DO stand out from everybody.  You have something special, and what's even more refreshing is that you know you have something special.  In my honest opinion (I hope everybody reads this, although I doubt any but a few will care) you are easily one of the most intelligent and thoughtful people in the Bitcoin community, and everybody could learn a thing or two from you.

You WILL be successful.  Just be yourself, regardless of what persona you need to don to fulfill whatever responsibilities you currently have.  You are remorselessly you.  Few people truly realize that this and this alone is the key to success.

I sincerely wish you the best of luck...

...you can finish wiping your tears ass now.  Seriously, stop that.

Fixed for you!  Grin
