RS has abandoned the project.
I couldn't find that on the link you provided... His silence I believe speaks volumes...

With bitcoinica down, what options do speculators have for leveraging?
I can't actually think of any, which means it's back to the pre-bitcoinica days, with just a pure trading market. If I'm mistaken and there are indeed other leverage options around, I would be interested to know the other services offering longs/shorts.
Sure, Bitcoinica will be back online again in the near future. But in the meantime, without the 'stabilising effects' of bitcoinica that was often touted, what's the most likely thing to happen with the market?
I've used LTC for leverage. Made about 900% since march since I bought LTC. Converted to BTC then to USD after BTC peaked.

I think there is only one person....Satoshi....any other players would have had to accumulate over time....i just dont see that yet...

Well looking at the long term price movements if we were going to break out to $10 we would have already. I wouldn't be surprised to see the price slowly go down over time and have it move sidways until a month or two.
Remember the price stability of bitcoin is what makes bitcoin healthy. Having it jump $10 or $20 too fast will ultimately just create another "bubble".

BCX I wouldn't be surprised if the Soiledcoin folk and RS himself are mining litecoins. It's pretty good profit when compared to mining bitcoin ...at the moment. "Microcash will be released on May 10th"...........LOL

I LAWLed after I read the following:
"If I was a programmer, I'd be glad to code, knowing that only the fact that Microcash is released will drive the price ten times higher. Maybe some of us who told earlier that he has a job and no time, will do it for 40 000 CS, for example? And remember, that BTC is near 9 dollars now. Let's imagine, that MC, when released, is worth 0.007 BTC again, and btc = 8 dollars 40 000 x 0.007 = 280 btc 280 x 8 = 2240 dollars You only need to be a SC/MC enthusiast. And Microcash is very promising, have great design, features. What if it will rise to 0.07 very soon? Namecoin once was. Does anybody want 22 400 dollars, just risk and wait a little? And this is not usual pyramid scam what I'm saying now, this is very possible. I didn't say 0,7 or 'dollar', 0.07 is very likely to be soon after release."

LOL in a few months watch BBQ coin go away...lol

I still think there is a good chance we won't head to $10 yet and come back towards $7. But then again that's just my take. I'm only saying in the short term it may happen.

how does pirate make money if he buys high and sells low How does a ponzi make money? Ooooooo... It's game on now. Good luck! As if the game was never on? LOL....

If this were pirate and he were crazy enough to pull of this stunt, it would provide a perfect opportunity for long term investors to average down and then sit back and watch the short squeeze unfold. I would very much look forward to this scenario.
Without Bitcoinica and without shorting, where would such a short squeeze come from? I think he meant that if pirate sells too low and the price rises dramatically and forces him to buy back in at a higher price...that would squeeze him because ultimately he would have less btc

I've made about a good 35% in the past week trading. Only difference is I've sold at $9.20 and i refuse to buy back in any higher.
I've made my profit for now, if another opportunity presents itself I may buy back in. But until then GOOD LUCK pirate!
Thanks for the profit!
Edit: If there is not opportunity, then I'm happy anyway because total profit for me is close to 900% since march. Of course I leveraged in with LTC when the price was much lower and btc was much lower...

Determined, aggressive bulls. Give it a few weeks and watch the price simmer down. All this crazy buying (if you look at the pointed candle sticks) looks like people want to sell at $10. Psychoogical barrier to me....
|
|
|
I've noticed a lot of noise in the chart in the past week or so. Spikes up and spike down. My visual is those spikes up moreso are as bit-pay said "someone hoping to lead us off a cliff yet is the only one ending up jumping off of it".
Long term the price is bullish. I wouldn't be surprised to see a correction from here through time given we have rallied about 50% since two months ago.
What matters is where the price closes (on the longer term candle stick time frames) and not where the price touched for a second or two.
This is just my take.

So you changed your mind after posting and want to blame it on being "sarcastic", fine with me. I'm glad we agree now. Translation: "I can't decipher Smoothie's thoughts that are genuine and those that are sarcastic. Poor me."

Where you see "illegal activity", I see people making voluntary transactions, harming nobody.
Not all illegal activity involves harming another person. "Victimless crimes" aren't crimes. Translation: "My opinion matters and no one else's does."

Translation: "I believe that bitcoin needs more drug users to buy into bitcoin in order for the market price to go up. Let's promote illegal activity in bitcoin guys!"
That's a bad translation. This forum is for speculation, and kentrolla speculates that much of the bitcoin economy is in drug trade, and that the SR redesign will attract more users to them and thus to bitcoin. It's not an endorsement of anything, it's a statement of belief in how things work. No need to jerk your knees. Translation: "I don't know how to spot sarcasm nor a troll post very well."
