Some people think Bitcoin is indestructible, when it is not. In fact, it is very fragile.

OMG SELL SELL SSSSHHHHHEEEEELLLLLL11111!

You mean that she sell sea shells on a sea shore?

I would suggest to buy or hodl.

Sell only if you need urgent cash.

Regards.

You are right, it was sarcasm,..
I only buy and hold, and sometimes spend  a little on drinks to buy it back the next day.

We will see when you lost a few thousand dollars before you realize that you lived in the bubble and didn't see the downfall coming

sometimes superior things just don't make it

maybe in a couple of years a bitcoin 3.0 will make it...proprietary...from the government
They already have something like that,... it's called dollar. Both digital and paper wallets available.

But don't worry people, my crystal TA ball says the big moon rally begins roughly 25 september (plus minus two weeks)
If not, I will sell all crypto because then we are really doomed.
1625  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 01, 2014, 12:16:32 PM
Grin
fallling will you pm me when (and if) you turn bullish?

Sad it will likely never happen, bitcoin is on it's way to the final capitulation

it's just going to drop back to where it came from and end at there. of cause there would be some dead cat bounces before each new low for example $490 before sub $450 who knows

And this is exactly why I am in Bitcoin,.. I rather spend my time buying bitcoins and lurking on this forum to see these kind of messages than to buy tickets in dollars for a stand up comedian show.

Thanks for the laugh falllling!

The over 20% increase in a day. Or put it another way.. In 1 day the hash rate increased more than twice the entire hash rate at the beginning of this year.
Yeah I know, but it's not right saying that behaviour is strange since it's going on for a long time already.
I like to say the network is doubling every two months.
I would start to worry when this behaviour significantly changes.
1627  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 01, 2014, 05:52:55 AM
Hash rate continues to go mental  Shocked  eom
Why? I don't see any strange things

He may be brilliant but he is also a socially challenged self loathing individual or maybe so self righteous he cannot damage his rep by spending a dollar.

Obviously you're the one being challanged talking about dollars on a bitcoin forum.
Bitcoin is not about making dollars dude. You will loose if you keep that mindset

what is happening @BTC-e shows us how fucked up these business owners they can get sometimes, in a normal fair world, the Admins notice the unusual activity from this bot and they coordinately ac, one way is by blocking the API access temporarily to prevent the bot from losing all the owner's money, I am sure the owner would be really thankful and the positive impression would be felt and reflected on all customers, but because this is Bitcoin and BTC-e we are talking about, they don't give a fuck and they are sitting happily watching the poor guy losing all this kind of money.

if someone failed with his own trading bot why should the exchange bother to bail him out?
I think government should make laws about failing bots.
They should always be bailed out

1630  Economy / Speculation / Re: btc-e trading bot - massive volume - no slippage - BS on: August 31, 2014, 06:48:42 PM
remember that avatrade allow x16 x20 leveage on btc-e btcusd pair so that can be a reason
http://www.avatrade.com/trading-info/range-of-markets/bitcoin

I think this may have something to do with it. Also, I suspect if it is simply bot shenanigans, that it may be something like this poster laid out:

Or this bot is bugged and operator is sleeping.
Maybe other bot knows how to exploit.
Since the volume is slightly decreasing,.. this could be true.
You're quoting the wrong person, it was me.
1631  Economy / Speculation / Re: btc-e trading bot - massive volume - no slippage - BS on: August 31, 2014, 03:14:57 PM
could this have anythin to do with GABI starting trading tomorrow?
Can you give a source of this story?
1632  Economy / Speculation / Re: btc-e trading bot - massive volume - no slippage - BS on: August 31, 2014, 02:59:48 PM

Maybe its some users bot in some attempt to control the market, no rules against using bots.  Volume is looking sweet.

This bot is operating with 0% fees, or else it wouldn't make any sense. So, it's operated by BTC-E's "inner circle".
Or this bot is bugged and operator is sleeping.
Maybe other bot knows how to exploit.
Since the volume is slightly decreasing,.. this could be true.
1633  Economy / Economics / Re: Why does acceptance of Bitcoin has to do with the price of Bitcoin? on: August 31, 2014, 01:07:24 PM
production of BTC is knowned.
demand of buy, not.

price change over the month.
bitcoin is a real stock system with no interference of manipulation market.
Enough manipulation going on.
The only thing really differs is that Bitcoin is finite and cannot be counterfeited,... well,.. only if you don't count goxing.

1635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: August 30, 2014, 11:50:03 PM
Can somebody please help me to get the monero wallet working on linux mint.
I really hate linux when installing doesn't work

Most of the times I end up using the windows binary though wine  Shocked (pathetic, I know)
But this time that also doesn't work.

I really want to participate, but how do I get this thing to work?
I am on linux mint 17 cinnamon x64

I did:
Code:
cd ~ && rm -f install_monero.sh && wget http://monero.cc/downloads/install_monero.sh && bash install_monero.sh
And my computer was bussy for 20 minutes installing a whole bunch of code...

After that, I did
Code:
cd ~/bitmonero/build/release/src && ./simplewallet --generate-new-wallet wallet.bin

and got this response:
Code:
bash: ./simplewallet: No such file or directory

I really hate linux when this happens.
Linux wallet doesn't work
Windows wallet doesn't work through wine.

How does this coin ever go mainstream?
(I know, I'm stupid, I probably should go back to native windows and use the binary there. I was just happy for 2 years to work with linux)

I don't want to invest in Monero and let the coins stay on an exchange.

1638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's a cool way to present .1btc to someone as a gift? on: August 27, 2014, 02:34:14 PM
if engraving, do not use a remote bitcoin service for it. instead go to a local store in your town that engraves metal or glass and get them to do it.

firstly due to the fact that he is less likely to even know what bitcoin is to even care what he is engraving, secondly you can be in more control of watching him to ensure he doesnt keep a copy. thirdly you know where he physically is and able to make a return visit to slap him with a wet fish if he did screw you

Check out how these guys do it.  (trustless)  Smiley

Amazing, I'm definitively going to buy one of these sometimes
1639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Jokes on: August 27, 2014, 08:07:53 AM
Well, one of my best jokes is one which played out in a thread after I created a poll.
This is what it was:

Ok, let's assume that the following scenario is actually possible, I would like to know how you feel when all these thing happen at the same time:

Bitcoin is under a 66% attack (double spends are happening)
Is also banned by the US, Russian, EU and China government by threat of 30 years jail time.
The real satoshi (proven by something) is found dead, killed.
Uh, you mean 51% attack?
No actually 66,6% attack
Whats the difference between a 51% attack and 66.6% attack?

15,6%

If you get the point it's hilarious. People should donate to me for it  Wink
1640  Other / Meta / Re: What are the requirements to rise your account status on: August 26, 2014, 09:46:38 PM
Senior is 240, hero is 480, I think legendary is 960. Requirements doubles for each rank
Thanks, but how is that number calculated?
Somebody PM'ed me this thread where it is all explained.

Thanks
