1661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Still Gamble? on: June 14, 2023, 07:46:46 AM
What is the purpose of smoking/Tobacco/liquor consumption, people find it as a way to relieve from stress and have good vibe. Initially the person starts to relieve stress, and the volume increases as a result of the brain wanting for more to have the real pleasure. This is how gambling too works, initially the act gives us some relaxation and later on our mind wants more and this keeps us gambling and gambling. At some point even when we try to get out of it, we can't. Some look to recover what they've lost which is also a reason why people still gamble knowing all about the consequences.

Too much of everything is what leads to it addiction, I will like to make this in addition that we should not create much time to gambling all the day long, this alone is good enough to reduce the tendencies to getting addicted, we can get ourselves busy doing other things in other to whine away the time and avoid being too lonely before the thought of gambling begin regenerating on our mind, but gambling is all fun and everyone likes to have fun.
1662  Economy / Gambling / Re: Enough to consider a casino scam? on: June 14, 2023, 07:32:40 AM
In the sense that Things are moving more and more towards a world of Technology where you can see that anything is the result of an AI , it can also benefit us by Using it for or against if it allows us to judge us , In this sense , we could go as long as the AI and Everything that is being developed will be the necessary tools to improve our systems and be able to offer a better service for us, of course , all this is paid , they do not charge us , but somehow they will scare you , when you Lose more in the game or the like, this will not go Unnoticed.

We can all see how vast is the advanced technology in this digital era where everyone want to get something better and more better from his gambling experience while using a casino, but we cannot always expect this advancement to be more vested on our own side than the casinos because they are also interested in using those same advancement to experience more quality delivery of their services and to also make more profitabilities, so the both has to get balanced that everyone get satisfied accordingly.
1663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stop gambling (sports betting, casino e.t.c)? on: June 14, 2023, 07:19:29 AM
I never stop to gamble because I know the risk and I gamble for fun.

If you and some else want to stop gambling, it's better to seek a professional, because they already know how to handle it to cure your addiction. But it will not be easy as gambling is promoted almost in every where, to really stop gambling, I think you need to just stay in home and never touch anything to connect with digital world.

One thing common about gambling is that it's very easy to start but difficult to stop because we all enjoyed gambling especially when it comes to having fun together along, but I don't want to believe that a professional solicition is much needed because it's what we ourselves should be responsible for and if we are truly determined to change anything then it must first comes from our own self before others could interfere or contribute further advising us on it, most cases where external professional guide is needed is when we have gone outrageous with gambling.
1664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The psychology of betting..... on: June 14, 2023, 06:53:42 AM
It's a great approach to gambling.

I had times when I tried to beat the casino and sometimes it worked, but eventually I came to the understanding that gambling is only for fun, the only thing you need to control is the financial expenditure. Neither chasing after winnings, nor trying to win back past losses do not lead to a good thing, and the game for $50-100 a week is a great opportunity to unload yourself from constant stress and hard work.

So many gamblers believe in the psychological aspect of gambling that we must have sensed it before betting that we are going to win whenever we are about to gamble, it somehow occur to us unconsciously that we perceived this feelings, it's what we have the indications for right from the beginning that we are going to have a better experience with what we are about to do after seeing all the information needed were already made available and that we are optimistic to gamble and see ourselves winning already even before the match begins.
1665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: He Committed Suicide After Losing School fees, And That Of Friend To Betting.. on: June 14, 2023, 06:14:07 AM
School fees or college fees? The article mentions that he is 22-years old. I would expect someone in his early 20s to act more maturely. But then I know a lot of people who have taken out loans from banks so that they can gamble. In the end, they lose whatever collateral they have provided and end up in penury. Some of the conservatives argue that these incidents are quite common and therefore gambling should be banned altogether. But I don't agree with their views either. If we ban gambling, then it will just push the industry undercover and victims of fraud and crime will be afraid to go to the police.

Though we cannot assume someone being 22 years of age an underaged anymore but yet he may be lacking making things serving as experience in gambling field, am not sure maybe if they dig further into his case that might be his first attempt in gambling, there are people that got too excited whenever they hear about gambling and it took away their total concentration from what they have been doing before, all because they wanted to gamble, of which there's nothing bad as long as they will be able to maintain some precautions in gambling to serves as guidelines.
1666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: June 14, 2023, 06:00:23 AM
~snip~
While those results happen from time to time it is not common and even casinos can suffer huge losses if someone was crazy enough to take a huge bet on favor of the underdog at the time.

So it is natural that even an AI will struggle to identify and accurately predict those results, still if given enough information about a particular sport and guiding the model in a very careful way I think it should be possible to produce an AI which could predict outcomes with enough accuracy to produce profits.

For every one person that wins big there are multiple others that lose.

At the end of the day the casino will always win because the odds are calculated like that. For example, let's say you win and I lose, the bank uses the money they got from me to pay you and still earn a bit from the whole transaction.

Just imagine how some people can be ist so funny expecting the use of AI to win against the house, how possible, though things can come in any dimension when it comes to gambling but the higher wining percentage is vested on the casino because we are all humans and can't be always accurate with what we predict on, same way also is the uee of AI in gambling which cannot be effective at all the times wining against the house.
1667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you Considered a Career in Betting Consultancy? on: June 14, 2023, 05:44:48 AM
There is no difference between a betting consultant and a tipster. It is a very lucrative career especially in countries like Europe where big leagues are hosted and people are really into sports betting. We know how big the gambling industry and it is expanding by the day, so anyone who wants to get a chunk or a piece of the pie from this industry can venture into this. For me, I would not consider this as a viable career option due to my geographical location, personal and other family responsibilities and life demands.

The service of this betting consultancy has to do with the kind of environment one is because some places are good enough to serve it as career while in some location it may not be saleable due to the nature of the environment there, this calls for the first attempt in making the feasibility study of the place to use, the category of gamblers there and their calibre, also such services could be rendered both online and live in a physical casino house or to an individual that requested for such.
1668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't gamble if you don't have patience on: June 14, 2023, 05:31:58 AM

A gambler who doesn't know when they should stop is basically impatient and greedy, and such gamblers barely manage to get something out of their gambling activities because they eventually lose back everything that they might have managed to win during a gambling session. So, practicing patience is a very important thing for a gambler and one should always have enough patience so that they can control themselves when needed.

Our minds will tell us a lot of things but we are not supposed to follow everything it says, and that is where self-control plays its role, if you don't have self-control, you can't get over the urge to gamble more when you've already won something and that will give an advantage to the house.
I am sure everyone of us feel that thing as well especially when we are new to gambling it is not bad to feel that thing but we need to overcome that and we need to have self discipline and of course patience because some of us will experience some things like losing in a streak that's why we need to have a longer patience and strong mental fortitude.

We all must have fallen under this category of being impatient in one way or the other at the course of our journey in gambling and probably during the time we were once a newbie in gambling, most of our decisions and actions are base on the normal feelings we have towards gambling which is sometimes far from the reality in it because we are only but being emotional in taking some decisions and approachs while gambling even though we are not sure for the uncertainties but yet we acted upon them.
1669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: would you play more on casino when your country plans to ban BTC? on: June 14, 2023, 05:15:53 AM
They can ban btc all they want. They will never know what I do with my coins. That’s the whole point of crypto. I have zero fear of the government when I use crypto because it is impossible for them to know what I am doing. They don’t have the resources and they don’t have the brains. So fuck em. They can ban it all they want and I don’t give a single flying fuck. Crypto has changed the world forever. The govs may not realize it yet but soon they will find out.

Yes and of course the government can legally ban the use of bitcoin, but what they should know is that they were the ones going to suffer the most on this because they will not have the opportunity to use the digital currency while i can privately make use of bitcoin through the p2p network to perform my privacy transactions as long as am not using a centralized exchange and trust the gambling platform i use from leaking my informations.
1670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another side of Sports betting you may not know about on: June 14, 2023, 04:42:15 AM
I absolutely agree with you. Fixed matches will continue to happen until there is greater oversight of athletes, coaches and clubs and stiffer penalties for those whose guilt is proven.

But in general I don't believe that fixed matches will ever be completely eliminated, that's why I think it's better to bet on several matches than on one single match.
Betting on one single match is fine as long as you bet on an important match e.g. final match in international event or top 2 fighters fight for legacy. It's quite impossible if those critical match is scripted because many players or fighters want to achieve something in their career, not just to earn huge amount of money.

But the most important thing is only bet what you can afford to lose.

Gambling can be as dynamic as we have been seing in many of the cases whereby you discover that some matches are fix, some are not, but as a gambler, we can decide on the match we want to go for to bet, it perfectly work for some to engaged more than two matches whe gambling because they under the way to run th altogether while some only partake i single match play because that's how and where they can perform best.
1671  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Individual temperaments and outcome on: June 13, 2023, 03:26:22 PM
It's very important that we should know our temperament and identify the means which we can use to cope along with such while leaving among others in the society, we should also learn how to apply moderacy to this temperament because we are dealing with a large number of people in he society and it won't be advisable being the odd one among the crowd due to nature of our kind of temperament we possess
1672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gift to wife on wedding. on: June 13, 2023, 03:11:19 PM
Although I still studied, I invested a small amount in Bitcoin. I will get married if I get a good job. Many people give many things to their wives as wedding gifts, I have a different plan. I am planning to gift bitcoin to my wife on her wedding day. Bitcoin is still illegal in my country so I invested with caution. On my wedding day I want to gift half of my investment to my wife.
Should I gift bitcoin to my wife? I want your advice

It depends on your choice but there's nothing bad in giving her bitcoin as present, so it's something you both can agree on that after your wedding to choose bitcoin as your first investment asset, who knows maybe before your wedding day your country would have adopted bitcoin as a legal tender or make the use of bitcoin a legal means of making payments, all that you should know for now is that there's great advantage in using bitcoin than any other asset of investment because of it future advantage for making profits after holding.

Hey, everyone   Smiley
I have recently started to be interested in the issue of cryptocurrency, please, tell me which exchanges are considered the safest and most convenient?

Decentralized exchanges, they are safe and secured, try all means to avoid centralized exchanges, then try to check if the decentralized exchange you're about to use only supports bitcoin alome or along with other cryptocurrencies being compatible for use, i also have some few links whereby you can learn more about the decentralized exchanges and their examples which you could use from below:

1674  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: President Tinubu Signs Student Loan Bill Into . on: June 13, 2023, 02:49:00 PM
I also saw the circular and what first came to my mind is that if they can utilize well the subsidy removal scheme and effectively utilize the funds for the national building, things could have been well administered accordingly, because what the newly elect president said was that he didn't meet a budget on subsidy on ground which means they have been diverting these a long time ago to themselves in power, maybe this could be the first avenue to avoid and kicked against funds misappropriation in the country with the new regime.
1675  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Senator Adamu Bulkachuwa making an open Confessional statement on: June 13, 2023, 02:42:03 PM
Once it comes to political affairs, it's nothing but the survival of the fittest, we must be very careful for them not to use as as their prey to feast on while delibrating on final decision on issues arising, if you're not ready to go dirty with them then it's better you stay clear off their zones, because politics is a dirty game and full of nay sayers thinking minds, how could you conquer them when they are the majority.
1676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Blur token unlock on: June 13, 2023, 02:36:01 PM

So my take here is, what do you think will be the effect of this unlock in the coming days especially since we just had a huge dump?
The unlocking token volume is huge and i think that will put bad impact on price. Blur token is not listed in Binance and volume is not big. whenever this kind of unlocking happening then big investors sell off their tokens week ago. week ago we have seen massive dump in SUI price and reason was big unlocking coin of public sale buyer in kucoin. Market condition is also bad and no one is in the mood of holding and i think price will be dumped.

What do you mean by saying it would leave bad impact on price, i will like to inform you that this can only be what will happen within the token itself and not affecting other cryptocurrencies price, secondly i will like to give a strong warnig from investing on memecoins or tokens not enlisted, they may just be there to trigger us through their hype for their investment which is why we need to make careful resea before investing on any going getting unlocked or newly introduced.
1677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What crypto porfolio trackers are people using? on: June 13, 2023, 02:30:00 PM
I used blockfolio for the last a few years also i used coinmarketcap in short term but currently i'm using coingecko, it's user friendly interface and easy to accessible to track your coins. I will recommend coingecko because i think it’s provided so accurate data comparatively others tracker apps.
The data provided by CG and CMC are sometimes different. I would say that if the fact that if how good the portfolio trackers depend on the personal view. It seems like that anyone has been writting their own perspective.

As long as CG and CMC was not providing manipulated data and it's fine.

Why should we rely on just two entries for us to use as tracker when there are many tracking indications, softwares, websites and nots we could make use of, though not all of them could be as this accurate as expected but we need to make an additional efforts in researching towards these results from our own personal findings before concluding, coingecko is another good tracking means that has been found reliable and used over time by many investors and traders in cryptocurrency.
1678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will China takeover as the leader in blockchain and start the new bull market? on: June 13, 2023, 02:21:28 PM
After knowing that the mainland Chinese government is against bitcoin activities, I did not expect much that they would expand the crypto industry space to various territories. Hong Kong is China's only exclusive contribution to the crypto space which I think will be around for a long time until some of their special importance is achieved.

Though they may be against bitcoin adoption but that doesn't mean they can't make the utility use for the blockchain technology in some aspects of their economy even though China is very adamant as well in accepting other offers from without, but maybe due to the nature of the the blockchain technology being a decentralized network, they may give it some considerations for use, but OP should know that either of these two is not a determinant for the market rise or fall.
1679  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: June 13, 2023, 01:42:40 PM
Well when we enter a casino we will always seek to win, no matter what we have read, that some do it for fun or entertainment, they will always seek to win, and if not, what remains is the fun, the good time that it has passed, the activation of the adrenaline, and a set of things that always makes us feel when we are in any casino site , the physical casinos give food , drinks , music , everything is an endless number of emotions that make our game more pleasant, and there it is good, if we know how to differentiate between Knowing how to lose and win  , it is because we have great Maturity.

A Gambler can be surfing through the online casino platform without betting and just be navigating through, same way it can be applied to the casino house whereby not everyone there are gambling, some were just spectators while others were being there just to get entertained, others are there busy gambling, yet those not gambling were still found spending money while catching fun but they can't be regarded for gambling since they aren't betting.
1680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: June 13, 2023, 01:12:52 PM
The age limit placed on people below 18 year to keep them away frim gambling have not been most effective as we have hard records of under age gambling in many place and this is a pointer that casino has indeed misolaced their primary responsibility which is to prevent that from happening and that is why there is need for KYC.

Age limit is not a determinant to gambling responsibly because if we are going to address this as a whole from the scratch we could discover more that the aged ones often be the ones that abuses gambling by being addicted or found misbehaving while gambling which shouldn't be, but i can't blame some of them because they have gamble away what could have been of a benefit to them long time ago, what they now do is to forcefully gamble through inner frustrations.
