1661  Economy / Economics / Re: Lets get GrubHub to accept Bitcoins! on: July 03, 2013, 09:24:05 PM
I'm not sure I understand this.  Why is accepting BTC a thing for lunatics?  With services like bitpay you can receive USD the same day for services offered, thereby eliminating any risk from a volatility standpoint...Bitpay does everything for you.

+1, services like Bitpay are the way to go for normal merchants.
1662  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am fucking panicking on: July 03, 2013, 09:21:07 PM
just sell, and buy them back after 6 month. (sub10$)
And you will be RICHer later on

Don't do this. If Bitcoin goes to under $10 it is dead and
is never coming back.

People seem to think price is some arbitrary number that goes up and down. It isn't. It is an indicator that follows bitcoin's popularity and the faith people have it in.
If bitcoin goes to 10 it means everyone will have given up on it. And nothing is going to bring them back.

Just like it went dead from $32 to $2 ?

OH GOD the irony. I'm still all in man. Just reporting the news!

Stop being so bearish and go get a loan already...   Wink

But...I...oh whatever. Sometimes I think you guys are just here to troll me. Ditto the market everytime I put in an order.

That was indeed some 100% pure trolling  Wink
1664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The general population is insanely ignorant about Bitcoin - and here's proof. on: July 03, 2013, 09:10:53 PM
Honestly, who pays for porn these days...

On topic:  you are doing a fine job defending the use of bitcoin.
By the way, that Anubis guy really isn't stupid, quite to the contrary I would guess, he just hasn't read a lot about how money works yet, you might want to give him a break...

can someone explain me? why are the loans for $ so high if BTC is falling?

People confident that it will bounce back?  Short-term, we are getting quite oversold.

And thanks for the answer superbit.
1667  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: July 03, 2013, 08:26:54 PM
aww, looks like most of the fun is over.
By the way, what happens if people lend money for under an hour.  Can they lend interest-free, do they pay for a full hour....?
1668  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am fucking panicking on: July 03, 2013, 08:18:09 PM
Why panic, hedge your BTC wit LTC

Worst hedge ever. If bitcoins dies, litecoin will die too.

I liken it to keeping gasoline soaked cash in your house as a hedge against the financial loss if your house catches fire.

Trading on the gap between bitstamp and gox??  It's about 5%

Yeah, I sold coins at gox for 5-6% profit, recently rebought them at 2% profit.  It's been a nice bet  Grin.
Things could get crazy next few days though (for the arbitraging, the lending rates obviously are already crazy at the moment).
1670  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: July 03, 2013, 08:04:36 PM
There are 0 funds available to be borrowed, all offers are out! Crazy!

Indeed, quite an epic 'WTF!'.  Somebody just went apeshit.  (Could be time for a nice bounce though)
1671  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: July 03, 2013, 07:47:30 PM
I closed my gox <--->bitstamp/bitfinex arbitrage at a profit, brought back the cash to bitfinex, now my bid at 1630% was taken, feeling like a boss  Cool .
(sorry, I had to brag, even if its only for a small amount  Wink )

EDIT: and BTC rates are still around 4%, can you believe that?  Huh
1672  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market cycle : where do you think we are ? on: July 03, 2013, 07:08:35 PM
I think we are past denial.  That was all the rage last week.  I'd put us somewhere from fear to panic.

My money is on fear.  Smiley

I think yesterday and today are the start of fear.
1673  Economy / Speculation / Re: I predict BTC/USD will fall to $2 by December 31, 2013 on: July 03, 2013, 06:55:13 PM
i agreee maybe nut 2$ but 5$ for sure

Want to bet on that?
1674  Economy / Exchanges / Re: www.BITSTAMP.net Bitcoin exchange site for USD/BTC on: July 03, 2013, 06:22:14 PM
Sorry if this is mentioned elsewhere, but I couldn't find it on the site: Are there any fees for converting USD to EUR during withdrawal or deposit?
1675  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am fucking panicking on: July 03, 2013, 06:19:35 PM
I am seriously considering getting out of this game. Give some strength bros!

Imo you have invested too much into Bitcoin, if a price drop leads to panic.
Just hold an amount that you can afford to lose.

sounds like wise advice.
1676  Economy / Speculation / Re: If price goes below 90, there'll be a big sell-off? on: July 03, 2013, 05:12:18 PM
Seems as if price is recovering now - I guess 90 isn't a great psychological barrier.

I wouldn't conclude that yet.  Give it 2-3 days.

Looks pretty stable at 90 just now.

Told ya  Wink

Ok, we're back in the 90's. What's the consensus here? Up up and away or down below 80?
I think this bounce up was expected, but I don't think it will pass the 94-95 area. Then back down we go.... we'll see if 78-80 support holds.

Yeah, I think we are heading to 78-80 too (and fast).  Then I would guess a prolonged rebound back to these levels and some stabilization, before eventually dropping further.  (Obviously just a wild guess)
1679  Economy / Speculation / Re: MTGOX is drowning, we are gonna see bottom soon on: July 02, 2013, 05:27:20 PM
this is indeed very worrysome about MtGox.

I have the same issue. EUR withrawals dont get processed since 7 days at all.

Didn't they say that EUR withdrawals are unaffected?
are you serious about this S3052 ?  i hope u are not trolling
waiting for your reply

Dude, check out the forum.  My previous withdrawal took a month to come through, and I am currently waiting for almost two months for the last one.
1680  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Bear Market is on....Red candles still haunt my dreams on: July 02, 2013, 05:23:45 PM

+1 from me too Molecular. Rampion, why is despair and capitulation unavoidable in this correction?

Because its not a correction, it's a bubble deflating, and before BTC can start a new growth trend it needs to be undervalued and oversold.

How do you know that this will not just be a correction but that this will be a bubble deflating?

I'm asking as I'm not sure. I would agree that chances are higher for the price to go down over the next half year.

However, I also think there is a smaller but real chance that it won't and we trend higher the coming half year.

You seem very certain this won't happen. I'm wondering what makes you so certain?

I think because of the magnitude of the previous bubble.  Big-ass bubbles like that require a big-ass deflation.  Nonetheless, personally, the majority of my "BTC allocated money" is still in BTC instead of fiat, just because I mainly want to play the long-term game, and don't want to be the guy who misses the train and keeps hoping for a decent drop.  The market can always prove you wrong.  Still, it's nice to have some fiat available and hope for some "really cheap coins".
