One of these boys is on it's way to you

The holes are with thread M3
In this version with thread only it's more efficient ( it's  one operation less on cnc machine) to cut only 4 mm release for PCI-e and not full cut

Just one last question Tongue

It's possible that we will not be able to organize our group buy in time. Would it be possible to order a combined shipping to the Netherlands or Belgium (so different people will pay for chips but afterwards we place one order for K1 and K16 and these boards need to be send to one adress)
Yes it's ok.
The order for chips is for chips only. Each customer can instruct us either to ship or assemble the chips
When there is tested design with samples We'll start to accept orders for boards/assembly.
We'll ship to the address the cutomer want us to .

ok, really thanks for the answers. I've set up a topic forpossible group buy. Otherwise we will buy or chuips seperatly and then group order the boards or just ask to send to one adress Smiley
Ok You are all welcomed in the group buy

Have a question regarding escrow fee - seems to me that it's not calculated into 0.085 price per chip?

It's 2% that I'll cover from the procesing tax

it's here
Quote
I am imposing a fixed and nonrefundable fee of 2% for this transaction, to be deducted when the funds are moved.

Thank you.

John (the escrow holder)

just one final question: what is the minimum number of orders?
for example 1000 chip-order = 35 x K16 and 440 x K1 ?

ok, thanks again for your answer.
Expected delivery in we order our chips in 2 weeks? August?
Again timing:
1. End of June final test of design with sample chips arrived. From then starting orders for boards, parts etc.
2. First batch chips (zefir group) expected until 15 July - PCB assembly and test - delivery first days of AUGUST
3. If you buy in my group (expected to be filled in 10 days) 9-10 weeks to get chips + 1 week assembly and test, this in case you ordered assembly service in time for us to be able to deliver PCB,components etc.

Do have in mind that these are estimates

K1 klondike
June 3
We got a quotation from diferent suplier for both PCB and assembly for 1000 batch order

13.277 EUR + 0.02 BTC sent to developer for 1000 pcs batch

So this is the price for the complete K1 USB miner? Chip included?
If not, what would be the price with the chip inluded and assembled?

We will maybe start a group buy in the Netherlands/Belgium.

So what we need to do is order chips here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=217316.0
And they will be delivered (at what cost?) to you?
And then you assamble the boards and send them to one of us?
Is it possible to have a "combined" order of K16 and K1 ?
'
Yes you can order chips now. The delivery of the chips to me  is included in the price.
As soon we have sample chips (end of june) and tested working design We'll open collection of orders for PCB/test/assembly.
Yes , it's possible to make combined group order for both chips and pcb/assembly. In this case one of You will make order to me for both.
Price, Yes this is the price for K1 pcb/assembly
it's only excluding heatsink for now. This will be updated when we have working board and see how much  heat we'll need to evacuate.

1696  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Klondike] Case design thread for K16 on: June 03, 2013, 08:22:10 AM
Trying to fit 512 into a rack mounted server... wish me luck.

Looks good.
Appears to be 2 or 3U.
Possible to fit it all in 1u?

I think the PSU is not gonna take full length space, if thats so then ample room for some embedded computer to control these suckers...

2U it has to be I think for 512 and possibly 768... 1U for 256. Hard to find PSU to get the +1200 W that fits 1U and be able to power boards and arranged in 40x40cm (even if 1 layer design) 2 layers of 4 x K64. Depending on the heat sink size it might be possible to jam 512 in a 1U and I am trying to get a venturi effect to push that air hard through the tunnel I am creating I think it might be possible. The left over space could house controller... depending on what is used in front of the PSU on the corner next to the front fan bank.

Not much head room on top there... not sure that you'd want to put anything on top wires ok but nothing else going to be pretty warm there. I was thinking that the top of the case and bottom will need venting slats.

Front View:

Hi ,
Just small remark
I do not see the power connector in your 3D
1697  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike - 16 chip ASIC Open Source Board - Preliminary on: June 03, 2013, 08:15:21 AM

This I would strongly disadvise, mainly for two reasons:
1) the time frame between sample chip delivery and chips in volumes is at least 4 weeks. There is no real gain to get chips for testing earlier than that (yes, you can test design early - but you win nothing by waiting for 6 weeks instead of 4 after verification).
2) if you open that gate now, you can forget about further support from buyers for developers. With an established re-sale price of 1.4BTC per sample chip, everyone would demand his sample chip(s) and try to sell instead of delegating them to the developers.

I agree with you.
It will open the greed race for sample chips.
С deleted my post about that

any chance you could make that in a 3U or 4U case?
Yes ,
