I would just like to reiterate that I have an order for 32 chips purchased through dddbtc in this group buy.

I have still not received any response from marto74 on setting up shipping so that I can receive my chips.  What do you plan to do with my order marto?  I am considering selling my order to another developer in these forums on Thursday and want to be assured he will receive his purchase.

Thanks.
You both made a deal and asked a few posts an PM's
I just need a signed message from the original owner  with new owners info in the thread format:

So we need to buy chips to get samples right? What about possibility of smaller then 100 chips punches so we can buy them sooner for development?
[...]

The minimum quantity for this offer is 50 chips, and it was chosen based on my experience with other chip distributions where I realized that serving too many small customers kills my ability to ensure the service I would like to provide. A lot of 50 chips was therefore my compromise for offering an interesting entry volume for DIY folks and serious miners, as well as being a well sized offer for manufacturers of single chip devices.

Alas, for designers I understand that it is not ideal, since they do not want to order 50 chips just to see if the chip is doing as proposed. Therefore I am evaluating an additional offer dedicated to support you developers out there, without limiting my ability to handle everything well. The problematic part with low-volume orders is the shipping and handling component, which basically is identical whether someone orders 50 or 2 chips. The 8% surplus I put on top of Bitmine's prices are covering those expenses, but won't do so if applied to very small orders.

One option I am thinking of is to add a low-volume flat fee for smaller orders of say 1 BTC for quantities below the lot size, to compensate the S&H expenses. I understand that this would cause a huge cost overhead if buying a single chip. But assuming the reasonable number of chips required to test a design to be around 4 (if you want to test the binary-tree communication you need 3 or 7) it is maybe quite acceptable. As an example, 4 chips would be charged 4.4 BTC (3.4 for the chips plus 1 BTC low-volume fee).

What do you think, is this fair and acceptable?
You have an order for this , if you decide to do it

Hi marto,

I understand the situation, it's not looking good Sad

But the members of my group buy want some answers:
All ofthem ordered and paid for PCB production, most of them ordered HEX16A (or switched to HEX16A)

1) If they request refund for their chips, will they get refunded and if so, will they also get a refund for the shipping cost? Or will they need to accept the miners
2) If they request to receive the miners, what will be approximatly the date that you will be able to send the miners?

I will post a signed message in a few minutes with the number of chips for refund and for miner production. I will also need to send you the "order numbers list" again because some people who ordered together to save shipping costs want a refund and other don't want a refund.

This message will be updated daily. If people don't respond, count them as "I want my miner" and not as "I want refund"

thx in advance
HI,
The chip refund request - I did already asked Jhon.K to do it. I do not have a confirmation .
As soon the request is done by Avalon Jhon. K will send coins to the participants , that want a refund.
Of course if somebody with ordered miner refund his chips he'll get also refund for the shipping.
I got an agreement with zefir and he'll send about more than 4000 chips my way this week.
So I'll be able  hopefully to dispatch all ordered miner until the end of next week.

Riddic signed messages voting just to get some more hours, just to receive that tracking info from Avalon.

This was funny i did not expect this. Marto allowed pre vote under the condition that is was for GB1.

As a last hope marto introduced "signed message" when he saw that more than 50% of GB1 wants a refund, hoping to let the chips ship Roll Eyes.
I'm answering here to you all.
I'm going to stop now., there is no point in this discussion anymore.
Again I understand that you all are angry ,but it's not my fault.
I always did what I promised .
I'll post here as soon I have more news.

Marto that is so lame, you are delaying refund in every possible way.
I belive all other Group Buyers did allow their participants to take refund and they done it really quick and smooth.
you are delaying the refund for the whole time.Monday, monday came now we have to vote lol.
Riddic signed messages voting just to get some more hours, just to receive that tracking info from Avalon.
Really I didn't expected that from you.
Huh
The GB1 was scheduled for delivery last week of August.
There are more than 4000 chip owners that still want chips delivered.
I have to honor everybody and decided to wait delivery to become late more than 2 weeks.
Remember I'm not responsible for Avalon.
And asking for signed vote is the only way for you to prove legit ownership.
And you are calling me lame Huh
Thank you very much
1291  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group buy] Avalon chips Escrow John K / 1 and 2 batch PLEASE VOTE on: September 16, 2013, 03:27:05 PM
Still i don't understand why we are forced to take the boards and chips when there are other options.
As Avalon has stated gen2 has the same footprint & pinout as the gen1 chips. As soon as those release people will want boards.

Why not just refund the chips and hold the boards for gen2? People that want gen2 chips can hold their order until the new chips are delivered. And people that don't want to the hold the board for themselves could wait for a new gen2 customer to buy a board @ technobit after which refunds can be made.

This option wouldn't hurt you in funds and could actually be of benefit since you now have boards in stock for quick assembly of gen2.
Sure, there is no garantuee all boards would be bought by new customers. But at least a good portion of this GB could get refunded eventually.

Everybody can get their chips refunded this way. I'd rather wait several months for a refund on the boards then having no chip refund at all. It beats having to wait three weeks for the boards to arrive lowering the ROI even further.
What exactly is your wish?

Even with the news known that started this mess, marto ordered the PCBs. That really was a bad decision.Don't know what he was thinking. Now us people with orderded boards are basically screwed, forcing us to take the boards and chips.

Anyone know the price zefir is selling the chips? I seriously hope he doesn't get them at a reduced price without compensating us.

You are not wright.
The time for confirmation for the first batch of PCB's was 30 of August, everybody was free to walk out before that.
That is my statment from 28-th of August
Dear, Customers,

After populating the new double power suply design of HEX 16 in Friday, We started testing and the board is working @450 MHz .

@ the moment We are  to make 72 hour burnin test. A few minor adjustments had to be made :

-New buffering algorithm in the PIC

-A few electrolyte capacitors added

We are working on CGMiner drivers for HEX16A  @ the moment .

Also We are making new sample heat sinks for HEX16 in order to provide enough cooling for OC-ed boards

As far the PCB design is now tested and any changes would be only software ( firmware) We are going to place bare PCB order in Friday.

Until the moment We have paid orders for about 500 boards @ the moment and received 2500 customer chips, that have to be populated soon.

If you have placed order and did not paid it yet , please do it until Friday if you want to get in the first batch PCB's

Again this is for HEX16 design only. The K16 design is not tested in full yet so these orders are on hold for now.

DO HAVE IN MIND THAT DELIVERY OF THE AVALON QFN48 CHIPS IS UP TO AVALON!!

But in any case these chips get here we have to be prepared to populate boards ASAP

Regards: Martin

The messy part of this Avalon Saga was officially announced same day from Zefir
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177827.msg3029465#msg3029465

Also after 28-th of August I have more than 100 orders for HEX16.

I do understand your anger . Believe me I'm angry to Avalon team too. I've tried to contact them many times since GB1 delivery time had come with no success.
On top of the ordered PCB's I have paid and delivered components for more than 1000 boards, and also significant amount spent on components for the failed for now Klondike project.
What I promised is that every order with me will be shiped in up to 4 weeks after delivery of Avalon chips . I'll now do it in 2 weeks.
So You are accusing me in what crime?

Peace
Martin
1294  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: TECHNOBIT S-HASH minig board and Bitfury October delivery chip distribution on: September 16, 2013, 01:43:15 PM
Hey Marto74,

you said you will get the chips in first October week and will need 2-3 weeks to assemble the board.
That means we can start hashing on first of November.
Based on this information and the given price it is not possible for customers to ROI.
Not even mentioned the risk if KNC, CoinTerra, Hashfast or Bitmine will start to ship between October and November.
Please watch yourself:

http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/33cfaedea5

I really like your design, but its the same discussion going on right now with Burnins Bitfury board and his new shady distributor.
It is not able to get into a positive balance with that price.
In my opinion there should the a golden mid when dealing in B2C fields, where both sides are able to into a green zone.

All miners here are sucked by blood through BFL, Avalon and the now upcoming firms.

Please share your thoughts.

The statement for 2-3 weeks is after ordering the PCB
If the chips are here first week of OCT I'll start shipping 2 week of OCT.

For the ordered boards they are scheduled for populating in wednesday.
So no refund there except if somebody takes your place. The needed chips for this will be bought from zefir
I'll send a message to jhon.K to do refund now.
Everybody that ordered and paid PCB's will get them no refund there.
Everybody that wants chips will get them too.
This is efective for both GB1 and GB2

Further clarification needed: I'm in GB1 and ordered three boards - will those be populated this week?

If yes:
Great!

If no:
As GB1-chips did not arrive, please REFUND my chips and keep the boards as a gift. However, please return the 30€ for shipping.

I'll be able to give you confirmation until wednesday

Lets think - we'll lose couple days in this vote, which could happened a week ago. May be the idea is to wait refund window to be closed or to wait when partial refund will be the only option. Just waiting for the moment when Marto will suggest like Zefir to buy our chips for 0.035 per chip for example. Nice move Marto, just to get profit from any situation...
Please vote for GB2 too please.
I hope you want a refund there too as far there are other that want that chips

FYI, I have one of burnin's BitBurners from batch 1 and it has been running these same chips @ 1300 mV for more than a month now. Given that you're going to make more than 70% of your profit in the first two months of operation I don't see why you'd want to run them @ 1.2V instead of 1.3...

I did not get any info until the moment from Avalon.
Time to vote what to do:
1. Refund
2. Wait

Please vote with signed message in the flowing format:

GB#,forum nick, No of chip , sum, sending address, R or Chips

where R is for refund and Chips is if you  still get the chips

Both GB1 and GB2 can vote

5279 chips from bafch1 already voted for refund. Have you requested refund for batch 1?
You do not expect me to make a move without having authentic vote  (signed message)  from chip owners, do you ?
