I'd love to see a summary post of where the network/blockchain stands at this point in time. I've been following its progress since the first couple days and mining since. As such, is there any stats on how many people are mining, or solo vs. pooled miners? It would be interesting to see some graphs showing the growth of the coin, as time goes on.
Number of people mining can only be estimated. ypool varies between 4000 and 4500 workers (CPUs, IF each CPU is listed as a separate worker) and has been averaging around 25% of the block finds. This gives you a total of 16000-18000 CPUs. This number seems small to me, but there is no easy metric to measure progress by other than block discoveries. Many ppl there have few CPUs and one worker.. so I bet ~2-4x more |

Had the same problem with Haswell HD4600 and 2x 7950, only solution so far (partial) is when windows boot (win 8 atm) switch hdmi or rgb cable to ATI (if display don`t wake up, do a device manager search for new hw) use sapphire trixx or MSI afterburner and set desired GPU/MEM and voltages to 7950, switch hdmi cable back to Intel and only then start Cgminer
The OC clock and GPU voltage will stick to 7950 and CGminer will work just will not report or control GPU/FAN... also this way you can lower voltage a bit more then usual because ATI driver is not used by windows GUI....
For temp, fan, voltage reading Aida 64 can be used... and it will work

ypool fixed it block finding few days ago.. now you can see its finding 5-6 block per hour...
Also mine i5 haswell find a block per few days so not so bad, and i think diff started to drop a bit
what the??? There are now 4,420 miners? So when did it go from 240 to 4,420?  ! It was broken, now i think it shows numbers of workers... some ppl has ~50-100 CPU`s mining |

i3 has 2 cores with 2 treads so if you tell it to use 2 treads just one core will be in use and you would need 15-30 days to find a block as it is now!

This coin is too new for an exchange plattform, I have tested it and found 2 blocks only, but it was a week ago. I have a Athlon X4 640 with 3ghz. I have the latest mikael HP 7 Primecoin Client, but I dont get any blocks. The CPU Miner is also Crap and there are no good mining pools for that coin. So I dont understand the value in cryptsy for this coin.

You can not compare FTC to Primecoin!
GPU miners jump on FTC kill the diff and after retarget NO ONE mining FTC and then the attack start!
You can not kill difficulty for Primecoin so miners would mine something else, because nothing come near to primecoin, also you can not guess the number of CPU mining it! I guess its like + 100 000 CPU`s atm and climbing!, also primecoin retarget diff is not like FTC one
