1701  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 3 TH/s Bitcoin Mining Hardware KL-YUG by KotakLabs on: December 20, 2013, 01:28:21 AM
This is a great idea. You need money to start (something). You announce a preorder deal for asic miners, never planning to ship, taking paypal and credit cards because they "are safe" and run away with as much money as you can withdraw before the chargebacks start pouring in. Customers really don't get screwed, because the credit card companies eat most of the damage. Win-Win (lose for credit card companies).

I think for someone to break into hardware now it will take a shipping product with lots of details and demo units shipped to numerous news sources.

Anyone else is a scam.

Actually it's called credit card fraud and I'm confident in guessing the CC company would follow up with you in regards to that...

Other than that it's an absolutely brilliant idea.

is it me or is that line getting even more vertical?

And it's barely started.  It's gonna go FULL FUCKING RETARD for the next few months while all this 28nm pre-order shit eventually rolls out.
1703  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: Advanced Mining technology (AMT) on: December 18, 2013, 10:35:50 PM

If you're expecting delays or can't release a miner within three weeks of the order date, DON'T advertise that you can do so. It's that simple.

Please take your real world normal expectations back to reality.  This is Deadwood man and the predominantly libertarian crowd here don't like things like companies actually doing what they advertise...

If this thing mines 50% of the BTC it costs to buy I will suck a goats dick!

I wanted to buy just 1 Prospero X-1 and it only wants me to buy 10 of them minimum. Sigh...

Doesn't the US reseller have an option to buy just a single unit?

Well at least we know ice isn't a shill, since there's no way HF would pay someone to make their supporters look like lunatics.

BFL pays Inaba...

It's creepy how the last few pages of this thread make me feel like I'm reading all the BFL threads from early this year... Just fucking creepy.

Well poop. Have an order that is presently in limbo, and would like to know if I made the batch 1 cutoff myself.

Have been waiting for a response from sales about submitting a payment :| Order #229x

double poop, I'm in exact same boat. orders #154x and #168x for (6) X3's that was meant to of been a group buy with my friends.

now my friends that don't understand the bitcoin business think I've duped them.  I'm fucked from both ends.

Don't take this the wrong way please but you kinda have, if you did not fully explain the extreme risk involved with any pre-order ASIC minesr then they are kinda right IMO.

you're right and I have tried to explain to them as best as I can that this is risky, and there's good chance (probably 95% chance) that they probably won't see their money back.  And I keep telling them if you want in on bitcoin and want a chance of making a profit, the best way would be just buy bitcoin and hold.  Still they wan't to be miners and not take my advice to just buy bitcoin.

hell, I was telling my friends to buy bitcoins just after 'Silk Road' was busted (I think it was October 2nd) and bitcoin was just over $80 the day after the bust.

oh well, Live and learn  Undecided

I've learned over the years that mixing friends and financial advice to often leads to lost friendships. I've lost more than one good friend because of bad investments (both ways mine and theirs unfortunately).  I try to keep the two as independent from each other as I can.

1711  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: Advanced Mining Technology (AMT) on: December 13, 2013, 11:42:18 AM
I am not going clear back through the thread, but I was under the impression that their 28nm devices will be based on the Bitmine Coincraft chips. These guys appear to be assemblers, rather than a straight up engineering company.

If they are using Coincraft for their 28nm miners, they should just say so. It would eliminate much of the doubt (at least when bitmine confirms this).

But let me point out that AMT specs dont seem compatible with bitmine's specs. AMT is listing "300-600W" for their 1.2 TH rig. Thats 0.25-0.5W/GH at the wall. Bitmine is only claiming an efficiency of 0.6W/GH at the chip level for nominal performance targets and 1W/GH in turbo mode. They do say it can probably go down to 0.35W/GH  (IIRC) but at unknown speeds, and that is still at the chip level. For 1.2TH,  300W at the wall seems impossible with bitmine chips and less than ~800W at nominal speeds, very unlikely. And why would you not use the turbo mode initially?

Both AMT and Bitmine have confirmed the partnership.

http://bitmine.ch/?page_id=25

With that being said these guys are like most of the other manufacture's who have ZERO PR skills.  The PR trainwrek from AMT in this thread could be a college course on EXACTLY what not to do....
1712  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: December 10, 2013, 11:00:00 PM
im late jan and im not worried.

$30,000 a unit if anyone also is not worried.

if i sold mine they would be priced in bitcoin and they would be even higher than this, I'm early january order.  Paid top bitcoin for these, one of the first buyers there

I have a pretty good order number and that $30k is just to have me start thinking about it...

But I have 13 of them so I don't mind selling a few. Can't hurt to get some more fiat for hookers and blow...

Damn man 30k is a lot of coke and pussy for the average guy, I guess the new BTC millionaires are just major ballers!! Cool
1713  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When did you start? on: December 06, 2013, 04:38:27 AM
We heard about it early of this year, 2013; in February-March-ish. It was from our neighbor. My wife and I never took him serious because his wife left him and took away his kids so we thought he was having mental issues.

He discussed almost everything related to this bitcoin. At the end we forgot about it.

In October going to work, UK, I picked up a paper call 'Metro', and it says where I guy bought bitcoins, forgot about it for few years, and now he cash it for about £500k~. Then I took it very seriously and planning on creating a platform for buy/selling bitcoins Wink

Dude I told you BTC was awesome! and she was a bitch, I'm not crazy nor do I have mental issues!   Wink Wink

That's probably because he is the biggest asshole on these forums.

1718  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Prices of mining hardware on: December 03, 2013, 12:36:03 PM
Hi,

I am completely new to bitcoin mining, but researched a lot in the last few days.
Can anyone explain to me, whey all hardware manufacturer are out of stock and why there are so extreme differences in $ per GH/s?

ie:

Blackarrow: 100 GH/s - 350$
Technobit:    40 GH/s - 750€
Erupter Blades 10 GH/s 800€ (Ebay)
Blackarrow: 160 GH/s - 2,499$
Hashfast:    400 GH/s - 2.250$
BFL:           600 GH/s - 4.680$
KnCminer:    550 GH/s - 4.995$
Blackarrow: 2000GH/s - 5.949$
BFL:           500 GH/s - 22.484$ (FFS?)

How is this possible? I seriously just dont get it Smiley

Thanks,

M

Three little words, explains it all:  Supply and Demand.

When a market provides less than perfect information, pricing is always set by the most optimistic investors.  You can either gamble on their terms, invest and use BTC in other ways or sit on the side lines and watch and wait.  Mining is in a really weird place at the moment, hash rate exploding, BTC price rising, A LOT of variables to consider and as such you have a lot of different people with different ideas of the equipments value.
1719  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast launches sales of the Baby Jet on: December 02, 2013, 10:36:55 PM
Just received directly from John. It's still hot  Cheesy

Boards should come this next week, so lets hope we see a Babyjet running soon  Wink

Looks like a screenprint stencil? Is it?

Am I understanding that back on or before Nov 15 they showed that pic with the CEO holding the "chips" and now on Dec 2nd there is still only one shitty picture (submitted by a forum member and not HF) of the actual chip and not the box they were shipped in?

Is there a legit reason not to show pictures of their sexy Golden Nonces chips?  Why two plus weeks and not a slew of marketing shots??
1720  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 01, 2013, 12:41:55 AM
Why are they concerned with 700 boards/day figure? Batch 1 is ~550 jets wasn't it? They need to concentrate on getting one fucking batch out to the people who paid the most $/GH.  Assholes, i swear.

Oh that's to please the new March and now soon April batches pre-order customers to spend more money.  They use Adwords so most new customers will not find this thread (until too late) imo.

Wonder if they learned that from BFL?
