He is a troll but I wouldn’t ignore everything he says blindly. Although I have to admit he is a rather good troll, probably one of the better ones.

The dude is insane I think it's pretty damn safe to ignore everything out of his account at this point...  but thats my opinion you have yours, it's all good dude!
962  Economy / Reputation / Re: digaran is an alt of... ... on: June 11, 2018, 03:04:15 PM
I am not sure if this is suppose to be satire or not.

This is very similar to the logic used by timelord and I wouldn’t give it much credence.

Lighten up brother have a little fun once in awhile!   Cheesy

Edit: I would personally suggest people give this thread as much credence as a typical post from digaran!  Wink
963  Economy / Reputation / digaran is an alt of... ... on: June 11, 2018, 02:41:48 PM
I had to write this post as the troll known currently as digaran used to go by another name here on BTCT.

First let me say that I spent hundreds of hours yesterday going over the history of notable figures from the past.  Compiling thousands of petabytes of data and comparing them to digarans history.

And let me tell you the evidence is pretty damning!

digaran is actually Pirateat40.  Here is my evidence:

1) Rounded to the nearest day digaran signed up to BTCT exactly 5 days less than 3 years from the time of Pirateat40's last activity...

If that's not enough for you (although I can't imagine how it wouldn't be) then we should look at Pirateat40's avatar, it has the number 200 in it.  Doing some simple math we find that 5 days less than 3 years is 1090 days (assuming no leap year!) and of course if we subtract 890 from 1090 we get the 200 depicted in Pirateat40's avatar.

Ok so at this point no one can argue with the math, but maybe we need one more??

In all the petabytes of data I scraped I couldn't find a single reference to either of those 2 accounts ever changing email OR password.

I could go on, but I think I've presented a super solid case.

On a slightly related side note I am going to give Pirateat40 green tag because he never tried to abuse his trust to me.
964  Other / Meta / Re: Please Lift ban on: June 11, 2018, 12:38:48 PM
You guys sound really so angry and cold towards this guy in a way that really gets me so confused. What is the forum all about? What constitutes an offence here? what is a spam in the actual sense and what constitutes a spam on bitcointalk forum? And the guy seems to be so sorry about the situation and none seems to appreciate his stance. This is not the first place I am witnessing this. In every forum where someone has complained about a banned account, everyone, especially the senior members get really mad at him and treats him as the devil himself, why is it so?

I am a newbie, without any computer knowledge but my friends who know some other potentials of mine thought that I will do well here. But this issue of banned account and the hatred it attracts gives me a lot of concerns. Please can someone kindly explain the reason for such reaction towards an individual with a banned account?

This community is extremely welcoming to genuine new users.  New users are the life blood of Bitcoin IMO.  There is also a large section of this community that is really frustrated by people coming here with the sole intent of "milking the cow".

We have ALL asked stupid questions or asked a question that has been answered before. We have ALL responded off topic to a post.  The point is NO ONE is getting banned for a couple of simple mistakes we have all made.

If you have a genuine problem no matter has "silly" you will very likely find someone to lend a hand around here.  If you actually contribute to conversations and not just answers OP's like there test questions you will find a tremendous amount of people willing to chat with you!

The best advice I could give any genuine new user to this forum would be to forget about signature campaigns and bounties, just be part of the community.  Once you understand how the culture is here and you have been able to figure out how to get some merit legitimately then I think it would be appropriate to test the waters on some of the additional benefits the forum has to offer.

Speakin' 'bout grammar, capital letters, and stickin' it up one's ass ...  Tongue

I mean does it really fucking matter as long as at the end of the day someone is helping their uncle jack Off the horse?  Wink

One thing that has been bothering me since yesterday, I was wondering if you had a way for a Lynspinz to get an additional 33 PAQ's without any additional out-of-pocket expense's?

Quote
I like the idea to limit the number of PAQ's from a single "miner/hasher" so the love can be as spread out as possible!

If I understand the gist of the above correctly, by limiting the maximum number of PAQs (100) capable of mining/hashing yAltcoin yaltz, it's the scarcity which makes the lower ID numbered PAQs more valuable and, moreover, more supporters/fans will want them, regardless of ID numbers, so that they, too, can mine/hash yaltz of the limited yAltcoins (10,000 count).
I should have been more clear, I like that idea that 1 miner can not take all spots in a Lynspinz pool.  It would be a shame to have 1 miner with a lot of PAQ's monopolize multiple Lynspinz pools.

Maybe you're Bruce Peterson or Josh Zerlan.
Now that's hitting below the belt  Cool
Maybe I'm MotherfuckingTheresa  Grin

Trying out my newfound infographic skills, an ostrich evaluates a pack of gnus in seeing which one has the lowest ID number ...

Maybe by then Flying Hellfish, among others, will have more questions for me pertaining to YuTü.Co.in.
What is YuTü.Co.in??  Please elaborate!  Tongue

In all seriousness dude I was honestly confused as fuck with a lot of your terminology (I can probably admit much of it was on my end LOL!) but I think I understand now it's not as complicated as I was making it in my head!!@#$%@!#%*

I love the idea man, I think it's unique and you have put a lot of thought into it so I invested a couple bucks as you know and I do hope it works out good for both of us!!  I hope like hell you can get the funds together for the ICO dude I think it would be a really neat platform and I hope like fucking hell my low ID PAQ's mine me some yummy yaltz of the most popular Lynspinz.

Face it Flying Hellfish. You are a part of the cartel, and this public announcement for an open slot is all a facade. We just need to come clean, since digaran is hot on the trail.

Is there a ceremony for being in the cartel, I didn't get an official invitation so I'm confused how it all works!!  Grin
968  Economy / Services / Re: [1 OPEN SLOT] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | 0.00075 BTC/post on: June 10, 2018, 11:50:23 PM
I think Flying Hellfish is in since he has reserved a spot long ago.

Fuck, I don't even know why I respond to you but I hope no one thinks I feel this way.  I asked previously to be considered (knowing it was full at the time) I did not ask for nor expect a reservation.

I assume Darkstar_ would make the decision based on what is best for his campaign and not on any time of application basis but it is his campaign and he can do as he sees fit without risking any hard feelings from me!
969  Other / Meta / Re: Signatures & forum ads on: June 10, 2018, 10:04:47 PM
You can disable forum ads via Profile>Forum Profile Information, and check the box: "Disable ads:". Although, there's a message in brackets after this that asks you politely not to do this. Whether you have this option might be rank dependent, but I don't think it is.

You could probably add custom filters to ad blocker extension, and do it that way if you haven't got the option.

I was looking for the info to link to, couldn't find it quickly but iirc that option is tied to hero and above.

I hope no one uses it though, the ads are very unobtrusive and it helps with the forums finances so it seems wrong to disable them to me.

Honestly I wish this wasn’t driven mostly by get rich traders.  They give two shits about how the system should be working. Honestly price should continue to head down as the whole idea of bitcoins worth is at jeopardy(decentralization).  It should be nearing 0$ per bitcoin.  Bitmain owns entirely too much of this space.  The only way to remedy this situation is for all devs to stand together for the betterment of mankind.  Not their own personal wealth.  EVERYONE!  If we just all walk away and ignore them what power do they have?  ZERO!    If we all succeed we all do better.  When the money lies in only the hands of a few well it don’t take a long look at history to see how that plays out.  Def a turning point for me whether this whole thing is a bust or will make it.

BR

The people have ALWAYS had the power, who do you think back in 2012 was funding BFL and Avalon with millions in interest free loans?  It wasn't investment bankers!!!

Those earlier bitcoiners may have believed in the idea but they funded those companies because they saw an opportunity to work within the system to gain a MAJOR advantage over the other users.

Imagine if people said hey we won't give interest free loans to strangers on some wild west cowboy forum.  If people had simply never supported this kind of business model it wouldn't work LOL it really is not that complicated! But that isn't realistic, because people!

Bitcoin may yet become a "victim of it's own success" but everyone is playing within the coded rules so one might even argue it's working as intended.

I wonder how many bitcoiners know anything about mining other than it "secures the network".  This site is FULL of users new and old that simply now NOTHING about mining.  Extrapolate that to the general public of bitcoin users and it's doesn't seem hard to imagine mining is somewhat irrelevant to them.  Short sighted approach I think but also very plausible IMO.

Damn thanks for the link, I bookmarked it so I can check it out later, I can buy a few of these and not actually worry about budget!  That is a decent selection too, btc payements, all sounds awesome LOL!

Appreciate the link!
972  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: The State of Cryptocurrency Mining by David Vorick (Sia) on: June 10, 2018, 04:52:35 PM
People with dollar signs for brains have been giving interest free loans to their competition since late 2012.  Couple that with a system DESIGNED as a near zero sum game and then ask yourself "what the fuck could possibly go wrong with this scenario".

It's what humans do though, we push the boundaries, we exploit the smallest advantages, we work within systems to maximize our value.  When a system is designed to reward those with the biggest advantage (ie lowest capital cost of equipment and overhead) then we should expect those with the greatest advantage to exploit it at every turn, because we are human.

I'm not saying that there isn't some people who wouldn't exploit a system if they could.  Lots of reasons exist to not exploit something you care about, but it is naive at best to think a system such as this won't be exploited by the vast majority of people that CAN.  It's also interesting to see how many people who don't have the proper advantages try to "exploit" the system.

The current trend of "centralizing" miners in the hands of the manufacture (or large enterprise level farms) should be expected to continue unabated as their is currently no reason to NOT continue as is!

Note exploit in context could also be read as "work within a system designed to favour those with certain advantages".

Edit:  When someone figures out how Bitmain (or any company) can make MORE profits selling only to home miners and NOT by mining themselves AND selling to ANYONE with a couple satoshi's then and only then perhaps can we start to discuss true decentralization of POW mining.

What the hell is an info graphic?

Pretty pictures with words for dumb dumbs like me!

I'm looking forward to your's I feel your skills behind the keyboard could lend to some funny and hopefully informative infographics!

FHF Would be my choice!

OK so I become a Lynspinz (btw kindly shove the grammar lessons up your ass!! Grin no offence intended JK!).  I am now creating yaltz (shares) just by becoming a Lynspinz.  I guess there would be an announcement and a time frame in which anyone with PAQ's would have the option to list their desire to "mine/hash" at FHF's "pool" (it is a shitty term I hope you come up with a better one!)?  This is when the low id PAQ's are advantageous?  What are the shares of FHF's Lynspinz channel called, just yaltz?  How would one differentiate a yalt generated by my uber popular channel vs some lower rated schmoo's channel?

Once the 100 PAQ's are assigned they start to mine/hash and receive yaltz (shares).  The Lynspinz or miner can then sell those yaltz on the YTC-Sox to any potential "investor"?

Quote
Once placed, a PAQ, regardless its ID #, can not be bumped from mining/hashing its directed-to yAltcoin. Owners of PAQs with lower ID numbers will be capable of ONLY jumping queue in front of other PAQs with higher ID numbers when desiring to mine/hash a new yAltcoin or jockeying for position in mining/hashing an existing yAltcoin having a full compliment of PAQs in place, especially if either shows signs of their yaltz enjoying active trading or capable of mooning, for lack of a better term.

I don't fully understand.  A new Lynspinz is signed up and a list is generated for those who want to mine at their pool, lowest Id's given preference?  If a yAltcoin has a full compiment of PAQ's in place how can a miner "jockey" for position if he can't bump another miner/PAQ?

I like the idea to limit the number of PAQ's from a single "miner/hasher" so the love can be as spread out as possible!

How is the PAQ ownership handled, I assume on one of the platforms there will be a PAQ gui?  How would I sell these "virtual assets"?

I think I have the concept Bruno but can you explain it to me using an example please.

Let's say I have a youtube channel and it is called Flying Hellfish, lets assume it is crazy popular today!

What would the ticker symbol be and all the alt coin or shares or whatever names be?

By becoming a lynspinz (is it fair to call them as another name a "certified" member?) do I automatically start to generate shares?  Or do I have to wait until some "miner" adds PAQ's to my "mining pool" (is it fair to call it a mining pool of sorts?).

If I am a miner with more than 100 PAQ's can I take all 100 spots for a Lynspinz or is there a limit?

If I understand correctly being able to join a Lynspinz "pool" will be determined by PAQ low ID or "vintage"  Wink ?  What happens if I have PAQ vintage#40 on Lynspinz JJJ's pool and I want to switch it to Lynspinz BBB's "pool" that is currently full with 100 PAQ's all above my vintage#.  Can I bump another higher # out of the "pool"?  If I can bump what happens to the bumped PAQ, does it go idle until redirected or some type of auto switch/bump to the next most lucrative lynspinz that the PAQ can get into?

If I am a Lynspinz and a PAQ miner can I take all 100 of my own slots if I have low enough vintage PAQ's?  Would I even want to do that?

When the shares are created are they sent directly to the miners and Lynspinz ytc sox accounts?

Lots more questions for you bud, but lets start with those so I can get my head around this a little more!

Edit: forgot to add, if you or another super helpful user could make an info graphic some of us bat shit crazy dummies might find it quite useful. It may also add value to folks that don't have English as their first language understand it a bit as well?

I agree with your PM as a native English speaker I often have to think about your explanations, I can only imagine what someone with less than a strong grasp of English would be experiencing!
978  Other / Meta / Re: Why are these posts deleted? on: June 07, 2018, 05:37:38 PM
I don't see a need to make long rambling posts like a lot of users here.  Shorter posts are fine if it gets straight to the point and are on topic.  Yes, I am a very fast reader and typer so I don't always take a long time in between posts.

I just wanted to make sure my posts weren't being deleted because of my political views.

Read the sticky at the top of P&S board, you should note that low/no value posts are always in danger of being deleted.

Exactly zero fucks are given about what your political views are.  Just don't shit post and you can say damn near anything you want.
979  Other / Meta / Re: banned from posting or sending personal messages . on: June 07, 2018, 01:04:28 PM
i recently got banned for posting and sending personal messages to my original account even i didn`t made anything wrong.

i'm confused a little bit, so are you saying that you message your other account? Why would you do even do that? It makes no sense at all Grin.

what should i do ?

Is there any chance I'll be unlocked ?
The only thing you can do is to appeal or just forget that account and make a brand new start. If you will push the first one, I am not sure if you will be given a second chance by mods because first, you're guilty (whether it's just an accident or not) and second, you need first to present a strong reason why they will forgive you. I'm not discouraging you but decisions of mods' are final as usual.

You shouldn't really be encouraging him to break the rules of the forum.  The user is banned not just that account.  Creating a new account and posting outside of an appeal style thread in meta is ban evasion and that is against forum rules.

He can appeal and has the info to do so
980  Other / Meta / Re: [SUGGESTION] Using Merit to Penalize Awarded Merits on: June 07, 2018, 12:21:02 PM
Hi Community,

I feel that merited community members should have the ability to penalize or 'deduct' merits from accounts that incur any wrongdoings (spam/scam/farming) on the forum. Of course, there must be a cap as to how much merit a member can penalize the other person.

The downside is that the merits would be effectively 'destroyed' from the ecosystem. Thereby the amount of merit distributed have to be more than the amount of destroyed merits.

P.S: I also published a guide on ICOs for noobs. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
~snipped~

What do you guys think?

Aren't you the same user that started a KYC for bitcointalk thread(or something similar)?

You seem have a habit of posting topics here that have been discussed and essentially dismissed lots of times already.  Learn to use the search function.

Careful what you wish for!  If there was a demerit option I would be strongly considering you as a candidate to receive some from me!

And whats with the promoting your ico for noobs thread in this "suggestion" thread?  The stench of desperation for merit is overwhelming!

Reporting to mods is a rudimentary demerit function of sorts, people should try using that as well.
