1701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UEFA Nations League 2020/2021 Discussion Thread on: September 23, 2022, 03:01:59 PM
I’m looking forward to Italy vs England. England haven’t won any game in their group and they’ll face a tough task to avoid the ignominy of relegation to League B for the first time. A defeat to Italy today will  confirm relegation for them who realistically must win Italy and at home to Germany on Monday if they want to stay up. I think they’ll organize themselves this time around and fight to avoid relegation.
England needed to redeem their image by winning today's match against Italy after losing last year European competition finals to Italy, they team has to up their game after being winless in their last four previous matches, the team is under pressure with their poor performances so far in the Nation league, personally I think Gareth Southgate player selection had been the major concern, picking players who are benched in their various clubs in starting eleven had already backfired, I hope he won't repeat such a mistake today by choosing the best and regular playing squad to avoid an embrassing defeat in today's match.
1702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: September 23, 2022, 06:23:00 AM
Arsenal haven't had very tough opponents except Manchester United so far.
-snip-
Arsenal didn't play vs most of the top teams but as you mentioned they are doing good. I am waiting for their game vs City in particular in October but it was postponed.. They still have to face Spurs and Liverpool. Ironically I see they have better odds vs Spurs and slightly less than Liverpool Roll Eyes
Im even feeling doubt if arsenal can win against totenham hotspurs and i didn't even think if totenham can also be beaten easily by arsenal. Totenham is still on fire. I hope that totenham can win the game against arsenal. It seems like that totenham needs to learn a lot from what happened with MU. Arsenal looks so strong caused by it was always winning against low tier team but it's not for world class club.
Arsenal vs Tottenham is a derby match thus can be won by either side both teams are more formidable this season the former lost once in seven matches while the latter remain unbeaten in the league, based on head to head record Arsenal is ahead of Tottenham, without any injury worries to any of the present Arsenal players, I believe they will defeat Tottenham next weekend, we shouldn't use Arsenal losing to Man Utd as the yardstick to losing against Tottenham, personally I think Arsenal deserve to win that match which they dominated and took most of the possestions but were caught unaware by Man Utd two counterattacks that lead to two goals, however I believe they will make adjustments in their next match.
1703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When betting becomes to high on: September 22, 2022, 07:41:33 PM
Have you ever had an experience betting in which you knew that you were going over the limits of you finances and still continued? I have one playing a game, it was absorbing plenty of my time and despite me knowing it, I was kind of hooked on it. It was not a financial problem, but left me wondering how easy is to actually fall into a bad habit and how difficult is to break it.

a sweet initial win always makes us addicted, the more often we get a win, the greater our guts to place a higher bet value.  this has become a habit for those who are so addicted to gambling that it is used as a hobby to entertain themselves because they already know the consequences when they gamble.
From my own experience once I made some Profits in soccer betting for a start I quickly quit and close my betting App to avoid greediness or losing the already won profits, also after I lost my bet for the day I will quit for that day and wait for another opportunity next day to avoid losing my account while trying to reclaim my lost funds which can also lead to streak of more losses, although it involves alot of self discipline because of emotions and greed attached to bettings, it's a pity that some gamblers who are addicted continues to gamble till all their account is bankrupted.
1704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: September 22, 2022, 03:53:30 PM
Arsenal are playing like title contenders this season, their performances show they want to win the trophy this season. It’s been a very long time since Arsenal lifted the EPL trophy or the UEFA Champions league trophy for that matter. They have been a subject of mockery for this especially from the rival fans but they are showing glimpse of been title contenders this season winning 6 games out of 7 and currently sitting at the top of the table ahead of  Manchester City who have been unbeatable this season also.

That's true and this is what make the premier league more excited this year, not just arsenal but even totenham Hotspur they are showing really strong performance and you can feel that they can do something surprising this year
Both Arsenal and Tottenham utilized the last transfer market to buy quality players particularly Arsenal who formerly always lack quality reserve players incase of injury to any key player of their squad, however this season the club had become very formidable with quality backup players in all the departments of the team thus are real title contenders having been very consistent in their performance so far in the league, though the league is still young, if they can get good results from matches against the top teams like Man City, Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea definitely they will win the title.
1705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: September 22, 2022, 06:42:10 AM
Manchester City are in a good position to win the league, they are sitting 2nd with just a point difference but we shouldn't give them the trophy just yet, Tottenham are also sitting third with few points different so its still an open competition at this stage and you can say any team will finish top because it is unsure at this point which team will keep up and stay consistent till the end so let's not be in a rush to declare one side as the favorites to win the league.
It's too hasty to predict the likely winner of the league with just seven matches played out of 38 matches, there is going to be some upsets in some matches which Man City who many will have predicted an outright win might drew or even lose such matches for instance they drew their matches against Newcastle and Aston Villa respectively this season, a match soccer pundits and analysts tipped Man City to win, so it's like this season will be very tough with the likes Tottenham, Arsenal and lately Man Utd becoming more stronger and formidable will definitely challenge Man City give them a run of their money.
1706  Economy / Economics / Re: How to be more effective working remotely. on: September 21, 2022, 08:20:50 PM
The best way to decrease effectiveness of working remotely is to decrease amount of elements that can distract. Working place must be far away from kitchen, food or TV. Separate room is a must. Also, dress code is necessary. If you work from home dressed in sleepwear, lays on sofa - then your working day wont be productive. Your remote work will be sort of a working from vacation.

I would suggest to simulate office working day while working remotely. Work from separate room, dress appropriately (jeans + t-shirt is ok), make timetable (when you have a lunch and 15min rest). Otherwise remote work will be not a proper work, but an addition to relaxing at home.
working from home is the most difficult thing I have experienced these days.
But one thing I agree to is being casual and not properly dressed up - then surely you won't be productive - I have experienced this myself and its correct.
It's actually true to avoid getting distracted while working at home is to avoid those electronic gadgets better still find a working space that is very isolated to ensure maximum concentration as well as to be very effective, however working remotely can be boring and tasking at times you won't feel motivated to work in some days, it takes some efforts and self persuasion to go back to resume working, personally I don't think dressing smartly or casually has any effect on remote workers all you needed to do is concentrate with the remote job and do it appropriately without any qualms.

^  Tuchel was earmarked by Guardiola to replace him at Bayern Munich a few years ago.  I have no idea what really happened but when Guardiola left Tuchel stayed for another year at Bayern and eventually went to PSG.  Tuchel was the up and coming manager at the time and Bayern would've sign him on with question.  But now?  I'm not so sure the Bayern Munich brass would be so keen on having him.

And is Nagelsmann really under threat?  I think it would be a mistake letting him go this early.  But if they do let him go, he'd make a good replacement for Guardiola whose contract is set to expire next year.
Oliver Khan Bayern Munich chief executive officer had reiterated his support for Julian Nagelsmann  to continue with job as their manager, though the club had been struggling lately in their domestic league while doing well in UCL having defeated Barcelona and Inter Milan respectively however, I don't think Thomas Tuchel stand a chance of getting that job now,  I am very sure that Julian Nagelsmann will improve the team and bounce back to their winning ways, the league had just started there is room for improvement, though they are currently in fourth position and five points behind the leading team on the table.
1708  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Choices: Gamble or Help the poor ? on: September 21, 2022, 03:32:08 PM
In order to understand the psychology of gamblers, i have decided to come up few questions for discussions, and here is the first one.

Suppose that you are a responsible gambler who have allocated a certain portion of money to gamble each month. Now you came across a poor person/family who is in urgent need of money. Will you quit the gambling for that month and give the allocated money to the poor family or will you prefer to gamble as you can't live without gambling ?

Personally I will make a sacrifice by allocating my monthly gambling money to the poor who are/is urgently in need of it, afterall it's an extra money which is not part of my money allocated for my domestic expenses, of course it's might hurt but who knows maybe that money might even be used to save a life, though I would have to endure not gambling for a whole month it's a personal sacrifice that worth taking, it's bad to be in a state of penury and abject poverty thus I will always endeavor to help or assist whosoever is in that state apart from using my gambling money.

This is football, and I'm football anything can happen,Arsenal have not won tittle for years, and at the moment, the boys are really hungry for trophy, they want to win tittles by all means, and as such, are ready to continue playing every game as if it were a final.
Yes I know Arsenal have not won the league for the long time, also they will want to do everything possible to win the league, you said Arsenal are hungry for the league, but I can tell you is not only Arsenal that are hungry for the league, every team wants to win the league. I think the only big team Arsenal have played this season is Manchester united, which they didn't perform very well as expected, i think it will be better if Arsenal faces more big teams before we can conclude if the league is for Arsenal, but to be honest I don't still believe Arsenal can maintain their current position till the season end.
Six games now,and we are still saying the league has not gotten to anywhere.
Six games is still early I think it will be better we start thinking maybe Arsenal will win the league when the season gets to the middle, if Arsenal can maintain their position when the season gets to the middle then we can start thinking they might win the league.
I think Arsenal major priority this season is top 4, thereafter they can vie for the title, for now their squad is still very young talented but inexperience can't compete at the highest level, for instance they ought to have defeated Man Utd but due to inexperience and avoidable lapses they lost that match with two counterattacks by their opponent, definitely the team might not cope when they play top teams, because such avoidable defeat will still occur, however if this present squad is retained and remains intact they will become formidable and the team to beat in the future.
1710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: September 20, 2022, 05:58:42 PM
It was the result of Chelsea's choice of new owner. Actually, I feel unsure of Graham Potter's experience. It was even possible that it was the first game at UCL Potter. Tuchel's dismissal was actually not appropriate. Maybe it's because I was surprised. Why did Chelsea choose a coach worse than they already had before? Tuchel's a good coach, he just hasn't had any luck in a few games. Besides, I also don't understand their transfer policy. even if they didn't prepare well. Or maybe Tuchel wasn't given the funds to buy it. I didn't get the news.

From a pure performance point of view i also think that it was completely inappropriate to fire Thomas Tuchel because even after their pretty bad start into this season FC Chelsea still performed way better than in the time before Tuchel became their coach. We should not forget that Thomas Tuchel came to a FC Chelsea that was in a very bad position both in the Premier League and in the Champions League too, where no one gave them a chance to get very far. Tuchel managed to make every player better and was extremely successful. He managed to finish the premier league on the 4th position and even to win the CL back then, which was incredible. I think Tuchel should have had more credit because of that.
Honestly sacking Thomas Tuchel is too hasty, he should have been given some more time maybe he will turnaround and reposition the club to regain their winning mentality, of course he is well experience and knows the  nitty gritty of the game, unfortunately Todd Boehly couldn't exercise some patience thus appointed Graham Potter as their manager, will Potter going to make any difference? I don't think so, their last UCL match against a lowly rated RB Salzburg was a good reference to poor tactics that culminated to their playing a draw, with Tuchel in charge I believe Chelsea will the match.
1711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: September 20, 2022, 05:42:58 PM
Many competitors? I only see 2 competitors (Arsenal and Tottenham).
I'm not sure if Man City will have the highest chance to win the title. To be considered the favorite to win EPL title, Man City should defeat the competitors first when they have the big matches (against Tottenham on matchday 7, against Arsenal on matchday 12). If Man City can defeat them, I believe Man City will be the favorite to win EPL title again this season.

In addition to Tottenham and Arsenal, there are several other teams that can beat City in a head-to-head meeting - Liverpool, Chelsea, United + a whole bunch of other less stellar teams. Even if City lose points in half of all these meetings, statistically their chances of winning the championship will be slim. It is wrong to reduce the rivalry for the championship to games against two teams.
There are other teams that will give some Man City tough time this season for instance the winning goal scored by Coutinho when Aston Villa played Man City was ruled out as an offside whereas replays shows it was onside unfortunately that match ended 1-1, Man City came from behind to drew their match 3-3 against Newcastle, thus there are tougher competitors in EPL now invariably increasing their rivalry to more than the two clubs mentioned, playing draws also reduces points, I believed it even becomes tougher in defending the EPL title because all their opponents will play with all their might to earn a good result.
1712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: September 19, 2022, 07:20:25 PM
what happened to Leicester City was beyond the expectations of many people because to overshadow this season they haven't changed much from the previous season, they should still be in the middle of the table with the squad they have but the reality is that now they are at the bottom of the table by only being able to collect 1 point from 7 matches.

What were you expecting from the club though? Ever since they won the EPL thropy, they have been selling their players away for decent amount of money and Vardy is probably the only decent player left from the squad that won the trophy back then so there is no reason to expect anything from Leicester. Yeah they had a fantastic season and managed to stay at mid table for few seasons but that was it
Truly Leceister City sold all their quality players without good replacement except Ndidi, they sold Ngolo Kante, Ben Chidwell, Riyad Mahrez, Maguire, Kasper Schmiechel a very good goalkeeper and lastly Wesley Fofana unfortunately the club doesn't have depth and no quality reserve players, the few ones are aged Vardy, Maddison and Ndidi, their manager Rodgers has a lot of work to do in getting them out of relegation, however transfer window had already closed till January, it's obvious the club will struggle and battle relegation, one point in seven matches is unacceptable for such a club that was once EPL title holder.
1713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 19, 2022, 06:02:38 AM
In my opinion, Real Madrid is the perfect place for Jude Bellingham. We can already see that Real Madrid are trying to rebuild their midfield as Luka Modric and Toni Kroos have become older and Casimiro has left the club. Over the last few transfer windows, they have already bought a number of young players, for example, Edoardo Camavinga and Tchouameni, and they already have Fede Valverde, so Bellingham will be an excellent fit for them as well.
However, since Real Madrid already has Tchouameni, Camavinga, and Valverde, Jude Bellingham's chance to be the main player won't be so high. He must compete with those quality midfielders to be the main player of Real Madrid. It can be different if he moves to another team that has fewer quality midfielders. So, it can be good if Bellingham is looking for a competitive team. But it seems not a really good place if he wants to play regularly as a main player.

Personally I think Liverpool is the best choice or place for Jude Bellingham instead of Real Madrid that had already filled his position, infact according to some news reports Liverpool had made some moves to sign him in January, the likes of Elliott, Fabinho, Naby Keita, Henderson and Tiago has not live up to expectations this season in the midfield thus there is a need to beef up that area with the signing of Jude Bellingham, recall how he played brilliantly in their match against Man City in the UCL, I was impressed with how he controlled and took charge of their midfield even as a 19 years old, he has a lot to offer with age in his side.
1714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your plan with Bitcoin? on: September 19, 2022, 05:46:48 AM
I have a plan to keep holding them for 10 years. I've waited for the next to Bullr un before I sell them while still accumulating during the bear season. I hope I could make it and hope that I was still in good health so I don't have the reason to touch them and reach my goal. I've tried to ignore the market updates and tried not to check the market price often to make sure that I was really far from emotional stress and remain calm.
I hope to follow your steps too in hodling my bitcoin as long as I can, though in some cases or instances if there is any need to exchange to fiat to cater for some urgency like buying some of stuffs or goods for domestic needs, provided that there isn't any alternative I think I will do so, however this is not the best time to exchange to fiat but a time to start buying using DCA and accumulating now that the price had dumped to $18K+, honestly I have much believe and confidence that the price of bitcoin will be bullish in no distant future no matter how long the market is bearish the market sentiment will surely change.
1715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: September 19, 2022, 05:34:04 AM
Arsenal's victory has earned him the points back. and now arsenal are back at the top of the standings. but indeed the next match arsenal will be against tottenham. and the match I think will be a difficult match to predict. because both teams have shown good quality this season. even though arsenal has won more matches. but it's tottenham now that really needs to be taken into account. because so far tottenham has never lost this season.

I am more on the Tottenham side on this one, Arsenal tend to slip when they are facing one of the big teams, and London derby is never an easy match. However, I will not be surprise if the match is end on draw, the tension in derby match is much more high, so I think both team will playing more defensive, I just wish the match is not too boring.
With head to head records Arsenal has an edge over Tottenham their bitter rival, this an improved Arsenal side better than last season in every area of the pitch midfield, defence and attack and very consistent in their performance, you can judge with the way they curtailed long throwings and long passes of Brentford in yesterday match and eventually defeated them,  I believe the gunners are now more formidable with a stronger squad, they can't easily slip and get defeated, last season Holding was redcarded in their match against Tottenham which gave the home side an advantage, I don't think such is going to happen again, though Tottenham had also improved tremendously with a strong squad too and also remain unbeaten, the best result they will get in Emirate is a draw or possibly lose the match.
1716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you being secretive about your gambling activity? on: September 18, 2022, 06:03:37 PM
Are you hiding your gambling activity from your loved ones, family or so?
Or are you being 100% open about gambling?

 Huh
All my gambling activities is done anonymously without any of family members getting aware of it, I never gamble with any funds that I used to cater for my family, I gambled with small funds i.e amount of money I can afford to lose, meanwhile the gambling App particularly betting sites App on my phone make it easier for me to conceal all my betting activities, most often when placing a bet on my phone I do act as if I am playing game with my phone and if done I closed the App outrightly to avoid suspicion while monitoring lives scores, Iam betting for fun having been a soccer enthusiast and with much knowledge of the game.

Arsenal team is back to show a great performance they are leading 2 0 in the first half against brentford in a total domination, it seems that they already forget about the recent loss and they are back to their former state which is a positive thing and it surely will permit them to be one of the title contenders.
Is it worth saying strong when a team like Arsenal is able to overthrow a weak opponent like Brentford?
It seems you are looking at Arsenal's strengths so much that you forget to see the weaknesses of a team like Brentford. I'm not at all surprised to see Arsenal can win against a weak team like Brentford because that's normal and it would even be a shame if a team like Arsenal can't beat a weak team like Brentford.
The same Brentford that defeated man Utd 4-0 is now a weak team against Arsenal? They also defeated Arsenal last season first match of the season, their main striker Toney recently got a call up to English National team that is an indication of how good the club is, Moreso there isn't any small team in EPL some of the so-called weak teams can pose a threat to the big teams, Arsenal completely outplayed Brentford and deserve to win, a lovely pass by Xhaka to Gabriel Jesus for the second goal was delightful to watch likewise Viera long range shot for their third goal, the gunners back on top of the table with 6 wins in 7 matches.
1718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: In your opinion is this the end for Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency? on: September 17, 2022, 09:52:11 PM
What a nice survey, 47 votes for "no", 0 for "yes" and 0 for "unsure". The forum might be a bit biased, but why would anybody really say that crypto currencies are dead? The bitcoin price right now is at 19,858 USD. If cryptos were anywhere close to dying or already dead than the price should be below 1 USD. And this is not going to happen anytime soon. The world is still full of people who are believing in cryptos and would happily start buying bitcoins if the drop anywhere close to 1,000 USD. I am sure that we are not going to see the end of crypto currencies in general or bitcoin in particular during our lifetime. Even if 99% of the world population is not interested in cryptos anymore, as long as there is 1% who uses cryptos it won't be dead.
I am 52nd that voted No bitcoin had experienced worst scenario of price dump but later recovered, notable among the price drop was in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic when it price dropped to $3900 that does not signified the end of bitcoin against all odds the price recovered and an attained a new ATH, though the market might had been bearish for quite some time now, even with the present price of $19906 it's quite a reasonable price as long as it doesn't fall to $1 bitcoin is very much alive, Moreso the coin is being traded on daily basis with the highest volume traded in all the exchanges because of it high volatility this is enough to keep the coin in the market.
1719  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: September 17, 2022, 12:33:33 PM
Well in 1 hour we will see the match between Wolves and Manchester City. it is a tough match for the hosts and I think manchester city has a great chance to secure full points in this match.
It's only 3 minutes and City has launched their first goal of the day with Grealish doing a fast finish and Kelvin de brune assisting. City has usual are having so much fun on the pitch with accurate passes and team work.  City had won their last 4 matches against wolves in a h2h class and this will make it the 5th win

Haaland had added to the score line with B. Silva assisting ,  If wolves get too sluggish with their defense they might encounter their worst concede for the season.
It's half time with Man City leading comfortably with 2-0 lead against Wolves who had a man off and redcarded, I am sure in the second half Man City will score as many goals as possible with a man advantage and a solid team who are in total control of the match, Haaland will possibly score a hattrick today, I don't see Wolves as a threat after conceding in the first minute of the match, the second half will herald in goals from the visitors who lead the table till tomorrow until if Arsenal win against Brentford, Man City looks unstoppable and on fire in EPL which club can challenge or stop them now? time will tell.
1720  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: September 17, 2022, 08:48:29 AM
But how can Maguire, Luke Shaw and Jack Grealish make england international call up
Those players are in the worst form of thier careers this is very surprising
Sancho and Rashford missed out on this how can it be , Rashford is injured yes but Sancho has been good form than Bowen and Grealish
Southgate digging his sack letter too soon
Honestly none of the trio deserve a call up to English National team, Malacia and Anthony had taken up or benched Luke Shaw and Maguire respectively in Man Utd squad, while Grealish is completely out of form based on his performance so far this season especially when Man City played Borussia Dortmund midweek he was a shadow of former self, Sancho deserve a call up, he is doing excellently well for his club and I hope this is not Southgate pre -World Cup call up for the upcoming tournament else the squad can't compete with other top countries and contenders.
