Is it easier to resell these cards?

Easier than ASICs, more difficult than GPUs.
1722  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SHA256 Collision Attack on: June 24, 2012, 08:06:49 PM
I know 7.

Pfft... I found upwards of 70 this week alone...

I'm on server 3.

You should have a player count on the site!
1725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: new!? digital currency pegged to USD, called Kurrenci on: June 24, 2012, 07:11:33 AM
But if they make transferring currency more efficient, then why not?

Well, it's fraudulent for one.  Advertising a "currency" and then delivering a "payment processing system" is fraud.  Look at the clusterfuck that Dwolla created, for instance.

Yeah I have $180 tied up in there...
1726  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: It's time for an ASIC subforum. on: June 24, 2012, 07:03:15 AM
It'll be time for an ASIC subforum when an ASIC miner exists.

+1

Though even better would be a "speculative hardware" subforum.  Anything not available for third-party verification goes there.

+1

Another one of these pops up every year or so -- e-Gold, Liberty Reserve, Dwolla, Pecunix, etc.

None of them are ever end up being actual currencies.  Besides, currencies that are pegged to other currencies are not really true currencies either.

But if they make transferring currency more efficient, then why not?

I asked some questions in their chat box, but nobody's gotten back to me yet.

The "Earn" section makes me think it is Bitcoin related, although they have nothing there yet.

Are they ignoring others is it just me?

A company that doesn't answers even pre-sales messages is really hard to trust and we're talking thousands of dollars.

This is normal for them Jody will respond to you next week.

So how many weeks do I have to wait before I get a reply to mine?  3? 4?  Busy month I guess.

"We will respond to all emails sent this year within 500 days of receipt."

(note lack of source for quote)

This costs significantly less than any mac, even cheaper than an Apple II Tongue

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006DEBXD0/

I'll be hosting a few BFL Singles off of it.
1731  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What kind of music do you enjoy? on: June 24, 2012, 05:54:43 AM
Everything, including this

and all other genres from house to dubstep to rock to rap and back to this kind of stuff.

The only genres/music styles I don't like are the ones played on the public radio all the time, like mainstream (what is now called) "hip hop" and such.
1732  Economy / Securities / What is https://cryptostocks.com ? on: June 24, 2012, 05:48:18 AM
These questions are directed toward the creator of the exchange:

What is the advantage of using this exchange over GLBSE? Why should we trust the creator of it? Who is the creator of it?

Even if it turns out to be a legitimate trading platform, the only advantage I see here is being a part of something new.
1733  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITCOIN MAGAZINE ARRIVED! on: June 24, 2012, 05:09:23 AM

Pre-order options for ASICs went live on the BFL site. If you're into that sort of thing.  Cool

Such a business would definitely improve liquidity. I think there should be equity sold, rather than bonds though.
1738  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Kill and earn bitcoins :) on: June 24, 2012, 03:09:42 AM
Hop on in 20 minutes for a match or two -- no cheating this time!

Server 3!
1739  Other / Off-topic / Re: BFL Preorders -- What did you get? | Who has the lowest order number? on: June 24, 2012, 02:53:04 AM
I placed an order for 2 SC Singles (upgrade).  My order number is 1801, but it's meaningless since it's a bankwire transfer and I'll have to wait for them to send me wiring instructions, and then arrange for the transfer and wait for it to be processed and confirmed.

I think just placing the order gets you your place in line.
1740  Other / Off-topic / Re: BitForce SC - Pre Order List on: June 24, 2012, 02:50:17 AM
BLF

Its funny you say that, because that is what I think of every time I see their name.

Lol.
