1741  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 05, 2013, 11:01:28 PM
I'm sorry, but the whole "signed messages" thing has me stymied. I understand the results of signed messages (sending verifiable transactions) but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do it? I have been using google to try and get some easy to understand information and how-to's about this feature, as I have heard a lot about it for a long time and realize its importance, but the only stuff I can find involves writing in codes and going in to json files etc. which I have no understanding of. Is there a "for dummies" explanation of how to sign messages? something non-programmers might understand?
It should contain;
1. clients that allow this function
2. step by step procedure for signing messages

even the btc wiki on it is way out of my depth.

I'm sure I am not the only one here, ANY help would be greatly appreciated

- Kenilworth is currently looking into all options available. -
We hope to have updates for everyone very soon.

thanks, I think many, like myself, are anxious to resolve this dilemma.

now that bitfunder is closing, where can we move our shares?

please address this issue Prendergrast123!

If we get the verified status on bitfunder does this mean we have to report our profits/losses to our government even if we stay in BTC?

Im contemplating just getting verified

just consider paying taxes to be your membership dues for belonging to the greatest country club in the world.
1746  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] Labcoin Passthru on Havelock - symbol: LABCO on: October 21, 2013, 11:37:49 PM
If your open to the idea would you open up transfers for substantial holders to move from cryptostocks to Havelock?

this, I would very much like to take my labcoin stock over to havelock as well. I am registered verified canadian citizen.
1747  Other / Meta / is there a way for me to change my username? on: October 18, 2013, 05:27:53 AM
I thought of a better nick for myself. I am tired of the old one. I know I can just create a new account, but I feel like that is dishonest.

Maybe a process by which I publicly delete my account that I use right now. then after 10-15 days I can re-enter with another public notice, like a legal name-change, whereby I introduce the new handle as me, gogxmagog?

seems trivial, I know, but some people on this forum are so mean, nasty, maybe socio-pathic that I would be happier with a wiped slate and a fresh start as a new ID. honest, not trying to troll anybody. also, my new username I got is worth at least 15BTC and I'm dying to use it.
1748  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] WTF! BitFunder Restrictions to US Citizens on: October 11, 2013, 09:06:50 PM
It is also partially restricted to canadian and other users. As they force you to go through weexchange (false volume) they are going to prevent you from doing even this unless you have provided a selection of id documents totalling 100 points, but if you do not posses a drivers license there is NO WAY to get 100 points. I've got credit card (25 points), utility bill (25 points), passport (40 points) but no driver's license. I have epilepsy. Trust me, you DO NOT want me driving on public roads. so this means, due to a medical condition, that is no fault of my own, I am probably unable to use weexchange, and therefore, on nov 1st, totally unable to use bitfunder either.

they accepted my photo ID, I'm verified now, but your attitude towards people with barriers is still stuck in Nazi Germany circa 1939. I could go get a driver's license, you know. I do not have to disclose my medical condition, and I know epileptics who drive despite the risk, but out of consideration for the rest of the society I live in, and the safety of my fellow citizens I deign not to get behind the wheel, because I never know when a grand mal will come on and I will drive into pedestrians/ on-coming traffic/private properties/pets & animals.

But hey listen, you're obviously a forward thinking guy, how bout I do go get my license and go joyriding around your granny's house or the school where your kids attend. Fuck the rules, eh?

If terrorizing a struggling business into accepting your substandard ID wasn't enough, you now go on to threaten my children and my kindly grandma with your brutish reckless "driving"?

You don't frighten me, buster!  I have dedicated American Patriots guarding my boarders, they'll spot you for the terrorist weapon of mass destruction that you are, and then BAM!  Guantanamo!

Better keep your dangerous self to your God-forsaken backwater foregny, and stay out of my Land of the Free -- we have STANDARDS here. Angry

last couple times I crossed the usa/canada boarder the only dedicated american patriots I saw were obese losers with dead eyes who were so bored that they barely had the energy to wave me through.

but what you say is pretty funny! if you ever want to live where you can express yourself freely, use cryptocurrency or cryptocurrency based securities exchanges without facing the wrath of a quasi-facist "nanny-state" c'mon up to canada. we respect FREEDOM here.

also, if I was actually going to do any of the things I write here... I wouldn't write them here first. The next time you see me...you wont see me. capice?

Ukyo-
simply make the validation points for cc and utility bill worth 5 points more each. this would solve many issues here. that way; cc + passport + utility bill = 100 points and validation. if you need 4 peices of id, just say so. if 3 is ok, make 3 id's = 100 points!

now, i DID send my govt. of canada provincial photo ID card, which works at airports, boarder crossings, and every other official place that asks for driver's license, and I sent a message to them asking/warning them about this, but it seems they completely ignore all queries for help.

I really hope they address this bullshit cuz I want to sell my shares when I choose, not be forced to sell them before THEIR set deadline. Manipulation opportunity anyone?

Frankly, if I dont get satisfaction, I hope they regulate these assholes right out of the water.
1752  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder][BTCT.co] - KENILWORTH - Real World Mining Opportunity with Bitcoins on: October 02, 2013, 10:18:29 PM
I submitted form to transfer my shares as soon as I got it (sept 26?) and no movement so far. any ETA for shares to actually move? the sooner I get 100% away from BTCTC and wash the stink off my hands the better. :-)

If you are trying to change your avatar to the pic in your original post it seems to have worked.  Maybe clear your browser cache if you are not seeing the change.

it did, thanks. just took a while to reset.

1759  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTCTC][[ASICMINER-PT]] - Public trading of ASICMINER shares on: September 24, 2013, 09:31:42 PM
I am unsure what "direct shares" actually means. where do I hold them? I understand they are virtual, but how are they shown to be owned by me and how do I move them around? obviously I am dependent on securities exchanges here... but from what I am reading, most find direct shares preferable, still I am unclear on how I go about holding, selling, or collecting dividends on shares held outside of an exchange. please illuminate me.

Direct shares are "real" ASICMINER shares. They are managed directly by friedcat. As such, they are not listed on any exchange.

To buy or sell direct shares, you have to find a buyer (or seller) and negotiate ("I'll pay you X for Y number of shares"). After the deal is done, the seller has to PM freidcat and tell him to "transfer" the direct shares into your name (you give friedcat your email and Bitcoin address).

You get paid dividends directly to your Bitcoin address that friedcat has on file.

Does this make more sense?

yes, thanks. It was what I had assumed, but was not sure about. I am also assuming FC sends some sort of contract to me stating I am the rightful owner of x number of shares, and that I can take this info to an online exchange like bitfunder and place them there if I choose.
do I pay a penalty for doing this? It is so much easier to move shares quickly on an exchange.
