1761  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Taliban are fighting with Iran on: June 10, 2023, 01:19:50 PM
Both of them claim "god is on their side", but the Taliban seem to have US weaponry also.

Quote
The Taliban clashed with Iranian border guards over the weekend, and it used American equipment to do it. The fight took place in the Nimroz province of Afghanistan, on its south western border with Iran. At least three people died, and others were wounded in a dispute about water rights in the region.

https://www.vice.com/en/article/epvvgk/the-taliban-is-fighting-iran-with-american-weapons

Officially this is about water rights, unofficially some sources say that it is a coincidence that the US left some much equipment in there when they retired in a hurry from Afghanistan. That equipment is now being used against Iran. Do you believe in coincidences of this kind? Apparently they have a mixture of super-old soviet era captured stuff and more or less recent light armour from US.

Once there's a communal dispute like this, you can't blame anyone because alot of things will be emerging new, you can't get the real idea or information of what's going on because everyone will want to prove their rights, there's a very good tendencies that the US left many of their war equipments when the Taliban took over the government in Afghanistan, the issue of water and boarder boundaries may be the major cause to the fight due to ownership claims which might have led to serious arguments.
We are in gun-free world and most of the guns and weapons are unlicensed so there will on be speculation about their origin or owners this is the situation we found ourselves and we have to cope with that, the Taliban have not put up any formidable factory to manufacture their own weapons, although there may be some locally made weapons being used by the Taliban, most of the sophisticated weapons may be the leftover of US since there we're under US control for a long period until the Taliban took over the government.

You're right, there's a law against the illegal possession of arms but i don't think this is effective in most cases where applicable, when i looked into the scenario of the way how the Taliban took over the government in Afghanistan, you will discover that it was something even the US never plan or see coming because they engaged with a full force attack to take over, there could be many of the US machineries and war equipments that would be left within the territory before their departure at the embassy, moving heavy equipment like the amour tank is not an easy task and may take some extra effort and time, this could be one of the reasons why they were seen using the US war guns at the cause among other reasons unclear to us.
1762  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Cryptocurrency in Nigeria: From ban to taxation on: June 10, 2023, 01:09:49 PM
Government are now just coming out straight on the interest of what they want with cryptocurrency, it's either they control it which is obviously impossible or they regulate it which will attract the payment of tax for every transactions performed, but two things remain unclear to me here, will the exchanges be the ones to be taxed or every individuals, secondly is that, will the government through this now allow the commercial banks to perform cryptocurrency transactions as against the ban made in 2021 considering the new administration.
1763  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can the ban on smartphones curtail peer pressure? on: June 10, 2023, 01:02:05 PM
children, of course, should not play cellphones first. Because cellphones have a bad impact on children, namely children become closed individuals, like to be alone, and fade creativity. So, it's better for children not to play HP first. We can teach him first what is good and bad about cell phones. So when they are allowed to play on their phones, they know how to choose good and bad content for themselves.

There must be a certain age limit that we will have to restrict our children from being exposed to the open and circular world, not even now that we are in the developed era of cryptocurrency, everything can be easily learnt from theuse of mobile phones on the internet, also there will also be a certain time whereby we will need to wisdom to refrain from those guidelines and principles over them because they have grown older and get matured and will need live experience to know about what's going on in the world.
1764  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Im coutious about xrp warning on: June 10, 2023, 12:57:00 PM
You better not make decisions based on what the big men and popes are doing because it is your money, and you must be fully responsible. You should find out more about XRP, and then you can decide because what big people and whales do is often only for their benefit. If you follow what they say, you may find it difficult to get benefits like them. Perhaps you can analyze coins besides XRP to find the right ones for your investment.

You need to allow him do whatever he wants since it was his money being at stake, this is not the first time people will always have to come to the forum to give their experience about investing on a particular coin which they think is the one trending just because it's a newly introduced cryptocurrencies, the issue about his own approach with xrp is not that too good or bad because he has not yet established any reason with his take on xrp base on the research he made except if he had nothing researched about.
1765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I have betted 100$ on this token [BSC CHAIN] and I explain why on: June 10, 2023, 12:50:55 PM
seriously? Bitcoin Meme is among the worst name i've ever heard for a meme just put a meme word behind bitcoin, that's outright silly and I think your $100 bet now turning into thin air as you have made the worst decision ever of investing in this shit coin if you're not the one who created it.

It's not about the name used for the coin here that matters if not the fact that they will keep deceiving people about this that it was launched by Satoshi, all these are part of their entry routes to scam in cryptocurrency, am very sure many would have fall already for it, not even when they have the guts to come to the bitcoin discussion platform here to still promote their shits we are less concerned about.
1766  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Government's actions against crypto on: June 10, 2023, 12:34:42 PM
its been since day one the governance always fight against crypto and they never won. they only will always scared people and holding new comers to come in to crypto world. but every cycle they will lose again. watch and screen shoot this. another thing i understand now is " this is why satoshi nakamoto hiding. look at BNB dump when binance and CZ sued by SEC.

The fight between government and cryptocurrency may not end just as you've said because there are alot of crypto projects disgusting to the eye taking away people's investment which is very discouraging, this alone is what government can use as a strong point against cryptocurrency to always keep to tackling it, but I don't see these ending soon as long as there will always be newly introduced cryptocurrencies then the government will always keep to attack the digital technology since it is not their own CBDC.
1767  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BEP20 OR ERC20? Preferred token on: June 10, 2023, 12:14:05 PM
Choosing which one is the best between erc20 token and brc20 token depends on the level of research you have conducted and how convinced you're about them, there's no guarantee in cryptocurrency because everyone tries his best and risk the remaining, but for now the two are still invoke and people are going for them because they are still having higher opportunities for investment profitability, but still yet, one need to conduct more research.
1768  Economy / Gambling / Re: Enough to consider a casino scam? on: June 10, 2023, 12:03:40 PM
In the sense that Things are moving more and more towards a world of Technology where you can see that anything is the result of an AI , it can also benefit us by Using it for or against if it allows us to judge us , In this sense , we could go as long as the AI and Everything that is being developed will be the necessary tools to improve our systems and be able to offer a better service for us, of course , all this is paid , they do not charge us , but somehow they will scare you , when you Lose more in the game or the like, this will not go Unnoticed.

Don't we also know that the use of AI on casinos by gamblers could also serve a means of cheating on their website, they also need to earn some money through the operation of a gambling platform and we must not be too concentrated on our own side neglecting that they also have their own challenges while operating a gambling platform, that's why they have taken time to ensure the set-up of a good security measures to curb every attempts targeted on the system as a counterfeit.
1769  Economy / Gambling / Re: Profit By Betting on Losing Teams on: June 10, 2023, 11:50:34 AM
I am the only one who believes this is likely some sort of advertisement campaign to some "services" which offers something which is unlikely to happen?  Roll Eyes
Honestly, sometimes it messes with my mind that there is people out there who can actually fall for stuff similar to these and other I have read in the past.

I'll say it clearly: Any person/organization who can get guaranteed profits constantly would not have a reason to promote themselves and ask for other's people money to spoil their own secret

Of course, there are some legitimate tipsters but we should be careful where we put out hard earned money on, for Satoshi's sake.  Tongue

Definitely it is only a shit casino or gambling platforms that will start establishment with the gambkers money deposited on their websites wallet or depends on the stake the bet with to maintain the running of their gambling platform, you must have eaten and feels alright that you aren't hungry which is a clear definition to the fact that you have successfully earned alot to use for the promotion of your platform through adverts, and I will drop this as an additional advise that you shouldn't start if you're yet to get established first.
1770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What kind of rewards/bonuses do you prefer? on: June 10, 2023, 11:35:34 AM
Gamblers will prefer a weekly and reliable form of reward which they know that they can set a target with and received their reward as quick as the task giving is achieved or completed, there are also some little challenges they would like to avoid having with the gambling platforms they would have been using whereby there will be delay in receiving their bonus, this are the areas that gamblers turned on to when it comes to receiving reward of any kind.
1771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Chat GTP destroy poker on-line gambling??? on: June 10, 2023, 11:22:29 AM
This one never crosses my mind. I ask chatgpt and the AI says "As an AI, I don't have personal experiences or the ability to play poker". Right now, I don't think AI has the capability to such an extent, not even in the next decade. AI does not have feelings or emotions, therefore can not perform bluff which is one of the most important poker skills. If it's AI vs AI, maybe it will depend on the program and won't be as exciting compared to when human plays.

This is the common mistakes gamblers now engage with the use of AI because they believe AI can accurately work and reason as woman's, this development is more effective in some areas in gambling and that doest not mean it's now applicable to every aspect of gambling, they are just systems built on advanced technology to make work easier amd for us to have a better experience when engaging in doing a task, not that they now have every tenacity of behaving like human do.
1772  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling is a choice. on: June 10, 2023, 10:48:05 AM
It's amazing, but many gamblers play casinos just to get rid of the money. Many writers, musicians and poets have played in casinos and lost large sums of money. They had no money after they lost and to support themselves they wrote their works. Losing was an inspiration to them.

We have to realize that not all gamblers count loosing in gambling as a big challenge, the greatest fear of some gamblers is the most desiring thing others have loved to do, there are many talents showcase on the gambling casino house and people spend alot of money there not minding how much have they spent through the process as long as they were been served with enough entertainment, that is their own choice and lifestyle they choose together with gambling.
1773  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: would you play more on casino when your country plans to ban BTC? on: June 10, 2023, 10:30:36 AM
    -   Of course if that happens I will still keep my bitcoin in a non-custodial wallet, this is the only safe way apart from having your own hardware wallet. So there are many options or methods in these situations.

In gambling, there is a higher chance that the government will control it, but in bitcoin, it is very unlikely that will happen. You know the government of other countries think of nothing but to manipulate what they want to manipulate if there is benefit and they will benefit from it.

Will you now because of this avoid gambling and hodl your your cryptocurrency in your wallet without gambling? Could this be possible and is it not easier said than done, what if you try to locate a casino that requires no KYC from tou and uses it to gamble and maintain every means to privacy and security measures, am not advising to go against your country law but they cannot moderate gambling to the fullest as far as am concerned.
1774  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not a steady income haven on: June 10, 2023, 09:59:13 AM
Gambling is not about getting quick rich, it is an activity to have fun not for making money. A steady income is possible only with investment or business but gamblers can't make it for a long time, IMHO. Gambling as a form of business has the same purpose to be created by owners: Making money. Since our loss is profit for the house, any business model will not let such a "steady income" case happen. That is why gamblers shouldn't fall in such schemes and trust other people's opinions.

As long as one is gambling but seing no positive results in response to how he has been giving it in gambling then the next thing is to take note and act accordingly by finding an additional means to source for an income by not totally depending on gambling for sustainability, even the casino owners don't arrived their targets sometimes in gambling and it's not about the establishment of a casino alone that all matters, their demands for maintenance as well, only few gamblers made this lucky win of hitting the jackpot while many only gamble to create scenes in having fun.
1775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers understood the game on: June 10, 2023, 09:43:21 AM
Most probably gamblers that bet on sports that they didn't know are only relying on the odds given by the bookmaker. I'm doing this on some of the UFC fights. I don't watch frequently this kind of sports but I sometimes place bets based on the odds because that's based on the statistics.

Even if you knew exactly the sports you are betting doesn't guarantee you a win. It's still based on your analysis and most of the time odds provided by the sportsbook govern simce bookmaker knew the underdog and the dominant on each picks. They are just relying on the house edge for their profit.
It is true that even if you know a sport really well there is not any way to know you will win your bet, but I would say your chances increase if you know the sport, after all if you just pick a bet based on the odds given, you have no way to know if the athlete you picked will outperform or underperform during their next match.

But instead if you are a fan of the sport in question you will have a better idea of those factors, which will allow you take a more informed decision about the possible outcomes and the chances they have of actually happening.

Any longed time gambler should know that gambling is just a matter of trying your own luck coupled together with how good you're in planning on a particular strategy to gamble with, we see some results as exactly predicted by us sometimes but this isn't what is common, some other time we may have the results that we never expected to see, we should always understand that these are the likes of risk that we may also come across in gambling either when we are winning or loosing, but the house will always have an upper edge over us.
1776  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can this be effective against the increasing numbers of gamblers? on: June 10, 2023, 08:13:39 AM
Quote

The Premier League have confirmed clubs have voluntarily agreed to remove gambling sponsors from the front of their matchday shirts from the start of the 2025/26 season.

This is a move to try to reduce promotion of gambling in the premier league with it's increasing audience, do you think it can successfully reduce the number of people who gamble? What do you think? Will these gambling platforms not just move to other sports, do you think other sports that wear their sponsors name in England will adopt this new development in the premier league?

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/other/premier-league-clubs-to-remove-gambling-sponsors-from-front-of-shirts/ar-AA19Ogeu

Do you think gambling is still under this myopic view that got affected by the branding they inscribed on their jersey during the match, or the advertisement made to popularize the whole show, some things are nothing but a funny attempts because as far as gambling is concerned today, if they removed this display on their shirts the sponsors names doesn't increase or reduce gambling, moreover it having a large number of spectators or fans is what gambling and sports in general needed, advert or no advert people will gamble as they want.
1777  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: June 10, 2023, 07:58:30 AM
You will start to feel remorse only after you lose your money, I've not seen anyone that feels remorse before starting to gamble, unless, he feels worried about himself, thinking that the road he is about to set on can make him change for ever, if you ever feel like this it's better to stop, because the mind is a very powerful part of the body, sometimes the mind can make things happen to us.

You know yourself better than anyone, if your mind is trying to warn you about what you are planning to do, sometimes it's better to put an end to that plan.

Gambling is not by force that we must do, we shouldn't engage doing what will lead to regret or great repercussions later in life because we can't just take hold of controlling our urge for gambling, everyone need to put themselves in other and remain determined not to allow gambling takes them to where they bever expected to landed at, but we must start that today with caution while gambling by knowing when to gamble and when not to and stop deceiving ourselves that we are sleeping while there's fire on the mountain, everything has time and season.
1778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you Considered a Career in Betting Consultancy? on: June 10, 2023, 07:45:21 AM
Just like Tony Bloom and others, it is possible that you can turn your hobby into a profitable business venture if you are confident of your skillsets. Have you ever considered a career in betting consultancy?

Why not, as long as it's something worth doing and can earn me a living, are there no people making game forecast, odds providers, influencers, promotersz developers and even retailers in gambling sector, as long as what I will offer as a service in gambling is profitable enough to earn me a living expenses cover, everything is about being a hard-working person, because in doing so, it opens more rooms for opportunities to come in with various areas of it applications, people are making career and professions in gambling through what they offer, deliver and discover as long as it makes an opening for earnings opportunities.
1779  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you guilty of promising not to gamble for specific days but back next day on: June 10, 2023, 07:24:44 AM
I did it many times back when my addiction is very high, I promise not to gamble after I lose a big amount I even swear that I will not, but the following day I'm back even promising to be better and not lose a big amount again.

How many of us are guilty of this?

We are all bound to mistakes because to err is human, sometimes we engaged in saying some words which we know or may not know that making the fulfilment to those spoken words could turn an haculian task for us, some things were easier said than done, we need to always out a caution to our mouth sometimes so that we won't engage in making void promises and later result to being unable to fulfill them, it has happened to me countless times and i believe this a common encounter that many gamblers would have been dealing with same challenge over time, spoken words were easier said than done.
1780  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to get over it on: June 10, 2023, 07:03:53 AM
When you were able to make $1000 to $100k, surely it is possible for you to make $100k to $1000k. You need to follow the same process as that you did to make $1000 to $100k. The mistake from your side is going all in one. At some point you're looking for a much faster way to reach your dream target. This is where the loss is happening and you gonna start from the scratch once again. You're really a great one, because not everyone is able to make it happen out of sports betting.

Maybe he should watch the movie wild card and learn from the gambling experience there, the more attempts you continue to make  keep winining will surprised you that the last move you may attempts will be the last chance that will render you total forfeiture of the entire earnings you been making frombthe beginning, he would have left and be satisfied with the little he has gained than taking risk on the entire money to make the last gamble, maybe he would have been given that opportunity to have something as take home.
