1781  Economy / Reputation / Re: Game-protect flag on: August 12, 2019, 02:19:51 PM
65 bitcointalk accounts confirmed that they do not know that anyone dealing with Game Protect is at a high risk of losing money! Smiley

Why?

Because believe means not knowing! Cheesy
An argument of semantics is a poor argument indeed.

marlboroza alleges: Due largely to the factors mentioned in this topic, I believe that anyone dealing with game-protect is at a high risk of losing money, and guests would be well-advised to avoid doing so. This determination is based on concrete red flags which any knowledgeable & reasonable forum user should agree with, and it is not based on the user's opinions.

Did you receive 5% of about £12k-£13k sometime around Dec 2018 in exchange for legal help dealing with Curacao for the OP in this thread?

Sorry, game-protect is unable to read yes/no questions. Unfortunately, you will not be able to garner an answer from him due to this. Sad
1783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does card counting really work in Blackjack? on: August 12, 2019, 05:32:42 AM
I have always wondered why casinos are sometimes against card counting, now I understand better but the card counting is even not so easy and not every gambler can do it. I don’t want to believe every player has the memory for counting and moreover to be good at counting, we must have the ability to be focused not to miss count of the cards that have been arranged optically, this is the only way a a gambler counting, one can get an opportunity to guess next thing that would be unveiled in the game.

The necessity of calculations in blackjack can never be overestimated. The casinos are aware of this and this is the reason its highly prohibited, it definitely works.
What are you talking about? The most you have to memorize is the count and the number of aces, if you're doing any side count. The rest you can discern between rounds. You're not remembering every individual card, though you certainly could (and given enough skill, mathematically deduce exact probabilities), rather you're using various systems to come close to best betting/playing strategy. Some counting systems are marginally lower than the accuracy of calculating card-by-card, so you're not missing out on much. Maybe a small difference of 0.001 ev.
1784  Other / Meta / Re: Limit signature campaigns on: August 11, 2019, 02:00:47 AM
I do not think this is true in any way, there are a whole lot of users who are still newbies and a lot(member to legendary rank) who are not on a signature, yet they come up with "useless" and low quality thread.
Argument over semantics...

I expect spam to decline by at least 90%. 10% of sig spammers will stay. Being forced to post in return for money, that's far more appealing than just posting because of an inflated ego and/or trolling.
1785  Economy / Reputation / Re: Game-protect flag on: August 11, 2019, 01:58:05 AM
Game-protect surely is JollyGood as well right?  I can't help but noticed the strikingly similar tastes and actions.
There is no way game-protect is going to waste time with another account (that doesn't target PURELY gambling sites) because he wants to parade around his site, full-time.
(Plus, JG was against BK before game-protect was)
1786  Economy / Reputation / Re: Game-protect flag on: August 10, 2019, 08:51:29 PM
What does it take for it to turn red and appear at the top of his threads.
Play at his casino or use his services. Then, if he violated some contract, you will be able to create a flag against him. Unfortunately you cannot flag him down without being first scammed. Roll Eyes
1787  Other / Meta / Re: [FARM SUPPRESSION] Clearing the Horde of Spammers on: August 09, 2019, 09:39:17 PM
b. it's easy to run the numbers that sig spamming can be profitable even for people in one of the richest countries (i.e. 14 Eyes countries) if done using multiple accounts.
Re: [EXPERIMENT] Testing the Limits of Shitposting

They'd just treat it as an investment soon to be recouped.
Considering how account trading is such a large market, this makes sense. Back in the day people would even talk about ROI with regards to accounts.

Bump. Should be stickied.
1789  Other / Meta / Re: Stats you would like to see? on: August 09, 2019, 06:48:33 PM
Since user stats have been disabled, it's good to see selective scraping.

An average of characters/post would be good. Same thing with posts/day. If we target users with typical spammer statistics, we can gather a list of them.
I've been reporting tons of spammers however a high number of the most egregious one-liner burst-posting spam megathread posters have slipped through my fingers.
How about "average time between posts"?
1790  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Spammer Blacklist] The Shitlist on: August 09, 2019, 06:44:01 PM
What's interesting is, I copy/pasted your list into my own Ignore list just to see how it felt, and for the most part I agree with it. But then strangely I saw that you merited a post by a user hidden by your own list!  Cheesy

I do make use of the Show/Hide feature quite a bit, so I don't blame you, I just thought it was a little bit funny. OK that's all I have to say. Please don't add me to your list for this post, then I'd have to ignore myself.
Not completely accurate. I will later truncate the list to users that have at least 5 (or maybe 10) good reports depending on how my reports go.

With ~2500 pending reports for the past two days I'll probably update it after the weekend... though more reports will be coming through in those days Smiley

1792  Other / Meta / Re: Limit signature campaigns on: August 09, 2019, 03:45:48 PM
How hard is it to shut the options down for a month.  Maybe it is too hard to do that (I doubt that)

Now even if done it does not stop a spam post with a link  I have reported many of them.

We may find  that spam posts with links go up 10 fold for the signature ban month.
Thus we say okay lets  go back to signatures as it is the lessor of 2 evils.
As it is quite possible that paid signatures reduce the spam posts with an outside link.
Your theory makes some sense if we're talking about throwaway accounts. However, since a lot of members want to keep their "rank privileges" I'm not so sure that they'll resort to link spam, especially if it results in a ban.

Spam is one thing but link spam is another. The latter should be more bannable and that would disincentivize users from going too crazily on the off-period. Especially if they have a chance of returning to signature campaigns.

I still say it's worth a shot, that we should try the experiment. Even a week or two would be fine. After all, with no incentive to post, we won't get horrible replies to useless threads. Smiley

Are you sure this is topic for meta?
Isn't it a part of the forum that could be discussed? If it moves, then it's okay for me but I think it could stay.
Personally, it's better suited for an Off-topic thread. Though, this wouldn't be one of those spammy OT threads. Smiley
1797  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Brand New ICG Labels for all crypto coins going forward. on: August 09, 2019, 02:52:35 PM
Good to know that anyone & everyone's opinion can be stated in here. After all, isn't that what this Forum is for? That large order came to Iowa, and I will reiterate how happy I am that it was not all done with this over-busy BTC header slab. I'd be surprised if any seasoned coin collector would use a BTC slab for a Dodgecoin, Litecoin, Monero, etc...

GREAT TO BE AN AMERICAN...freedom of speech and all....regardless of the "Mob-Mentality-Bullies" that troll this site  Grin
nice... feel free to repost on your main Smiley
1798  Other / Meta / Re: Limit signature campaigns on: August 09, 2019, 02:47:13 PM
We could simply stop all signature campaigns as a test. Maybe 30 60 90 days

Measure traffic on forum and make decisions on that.

I have not done a paid signature in three years.
I still post a lot.
So why do we think people will end posting. Traffic will lesson.
The forum attracted individuals pre-campaigns. What kind of users do we want on this platform? Spammers that are just here to make a quick buck (literally)? Or, do we want real discussion?

If we don't want real discussion then why have the Serious discussion & Ivory Tower boards at all?
If we don't want real discussion then why implement the merit system?
If we don't want real discussion then why put limitations on signatures?

It could be an advertising haven but it's not.

1800  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does card counting really work in Blackjack? on: August 08, 2019, 08:39:55 PM
I don't think there is one though. I know slot machines are the worst way to go to a casino if you want to win some. There's a probability that you will win the game and not some few cashbacks into you but its really at random. Slot machines really don't have a threshold where if it reach it suddenly becomes more profitable at the end, so in theory even if that "barman" is waiting for his turn on that slot machine it doesn't really increase his chances of winning the jackpot. Still card games like Blackjack or Baccarat where you can decide on where your money will really go.
The only way to game a slot machine is to wait until a jackpot pushes the ev into the positives. Unless the slot machine is rigged, the base house edge remains the same and play has no effect upon the results.

When it comes to slots, the edge will usually be at least 2%. Most of the time, even progressive jackpot slots need values of multiple millions for it to be profitable. Smiley
