Happy Birthday Bitcoin!

The Bitcoin whitepaper was released 11 years ago today

Thank you Satoshi!

I looked into starting my own country, its not easy, at all

I looked into getting another citizenship, if I was a descendant of a few countries it might be easier,
I could buy my way, but it costs a TON of money, so that was a dead end too

Cant wait for a big decentralized exchange (DEX), I like bisq but its pretty small still,
what are the top DEXs right now?

Coinsbit.io does not allow users from the USA,
Its not listed anywhere, but they will deny your KYC documents

I tried to talk to Eugene from Telegram and to their online chat support,
but they were not helpful

Yeah this is unfortunate, I never found any information about them restricting any countries

Ive asked their support for a list of the countries they do not allow, he said its on the website,
Ive looked through the whole website and havent found a list, I asked him for a link, still waiting on an answer

I dont know if its necessarily a dealbreaker, but maybe, probably, I dont know
I assume a good chunk of our current users are in the US

Note: crex24 exchange also doesnt allow US users, but its just an IP restriction, can bypass it with a VPN, they dont do KYC

Is the US too unfriendly on Cryptocurrency?
Is there an easy/cheap way to become a citizen of another country? dual citizenship?

Cryptocurrency is a world currency, without borders
Arent we all citizens of planet earth? of the milkyway galaxy?
Should we move to another country thats more friendly to crypto?

Support guy is giving me the run around, said theres a link, wont provide me with a link,
now he is saying there was a mailing about it to all registered users, now Im asking for a copy of the mailing

Only other reference I could find of USA being restricted on Coinsbit, 18 days ago
https://www.reddit.com/r/airdropalertcom/comments/de93o6/coinsbit_warning_for_those_in_the_usa/

Support now asked me to join online chat on the website,
They are saying US is only country they do not allow,
and theyre claiming its in the Terms of use, but I cant find it in the Terms,
I asked them to pinpoint the section,
Now hes going back to saying it was in the mailing,
I asked for a copy of the mailing and he said no and left the chat...

I got an email back today that my Coinsbit account was not approved

Quote
Title: Customer Doc Disapproved

No documents accepted. Please try again.

Reason: "Dear customer, good day! Your verification application was disapproved. We do not accept USA documents. Thank you for understanding."

I asked in their Telegram, "Does Coinsbit not allow users from the USA?"
Eugene from Coinsbit Support Team said "No, it's not allowed"

Can you consider listing in :
https://www.coingecko.com/en/exchanges/crex24

I am using it alot and would like to recommend it.

Listing fee is only 0.3 BTC according to:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3285119.msg49393848#msg49393848

From my browser history,
looks like I filled out and submitted their listing form 3 weeks ago,
I believe I put Robs email as the contact email, so not sure if they got back with him

No - they didnt, I forwarded all the updates to you Togo that I received except Graviex - Im still talking to them.

I will also try to contact crex24.

I got emailed back, crex24 is offering us a listing for 0.3 BTC
I posted the details here: https://forum.biblepay.org/index.php?topic=462.0

Rob said we do not have the budget right now to support anymore exchange listings,
I totally agree, so for now we would need someone to donate for it and/or run a community donation fund

Ive been in the Coinsbit telegram for a few days now, over 3000++ messages have been sent Shocked
Mostly support questions, people asking status of their account, KYC documents, etc
https://t.me/coinsbit_chat

I created a Coinsbit account today, I will report back how it goes

I noticed they have their own token, CNB, but looks like its not releasing until this Christmas

They also have a referral program for the next 60 days, my link is below in my forum signature, bottom right

"Each user who registered by your referral link receive 2000 CNB.
You will receive a bonus in 1000 CNB by every user which you invited!"

https://www.coinspeaker.com/coinsbit-cnb-tokens-referrals/

NOTE: I found out the hard way when promoting Hex coin,
that referral links are not allowed in bitcointalk posts
(but they are allowed in your forum signature)

BiblePay has released an external miner
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2388064.msg52730089#msg52730089

We look forward to anyone who has GPU capabilities to try to port us to GPU (or ASIC).  I want to see transparency here in our project - I want a good honest white hat hacker to give it a shot.  There are interesting dynamics here - due to the low Proof of BibleHash (POBH) reward, but nevertheless we need to know if anyone can do it for the sake of the whole community.

On a side note:  in this phase the external miner will *only solo mine* you cannot pool mine with it.  The goal is to benchmark it, and if its faster than the core client, I will move on to making a stratum pool.  I still want the stratum pool to handle future scalability and maintenance in BBP, to replace the C# server side pool code.  We will just keep the orphan letter writing in the pool, and then move that to DSQL when we have time - then we can take down pool.biblepay.org, and just have p2pool and DSQL running.  Then volunteers can make Nomp or whatever pool they want later off of p2pool as a template (or simply run more p2pools) etc.

external miner? i was a bit off last weeks, but when i checked quickly forum i found nothing about external miner hmm

*** External POBH (Heat/POW) miner being released now for testing in Prod or TestNet ***

Remember you will need to upgrade biblepay to 1.4.5.0+ first before you can use this miner.
And, this release will only work in solo mining mode (so please comment out the pool entries).
And, you will need a self-funded abn, and the wallet unlocked for mining (so the internal core can create ABNs when needed).

1)  Repo for the new bbp-miner.exe:
https://github.com/biblepay/cpuminer

2) To build it yourself:
https://github.com/biblepay/cpuminer/blob/master/BuildingBBPMiner.txt

3) Binaries for Windows and for Linux (x86_64):
https://github.com/biblepay/cpuminer/tree/master/binaries

Windows Link:
https://github.com/biblepay/cpuminer/blob/master/binaries/bbpminer-x86.exe

Linux link:
https://github.com/biblepay/cpuminer/blob/master/binaries/bbpminer_linux

For more distros we will need to ask MIP to help us.

USAGE INSTRUCTIONS (SOLO MINING):

./bbpminer -o127.0.0.1:rpc_port_number -uYour_RPC_Username -pYour_RPC_Password --no-longpoll

BiblePay Configuration file (biblepay.conf):

server=1
rpcport=14000 (or your own number)
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcuser=your_rpc_username
rpcpassword=your_rpc_password

Please post if you have any trouble and we can all try to help.

Did the latest BiblePay newsletter work? Its showing they were all sent and over 120 have been opened so far
It was just a link to the medium article, I want confirmation that it worked

I went ahead and bought the newsletter plugin license
https://forum.biblepay.org/index.php?topic=456.0
and entered in the new license key

Still trying to debug what is wrong with our newsletters not sending
https://www.thenewsletterplugin.com/documentation/email-sending-issues

Test email from Status page works

Latest Newsletter test email did not work again

I created a new default empty basic newsletter as described above, it worked!

Going to re-create the newsletter and try again

I havent been able to help test the miner, b/c my ubuntu machine freezes when it goes over 40-50% CPU,
Its issue Ive been having for many months, too lazy to fix it hahaha, ughh, LOL

I just found this --threads=N flag for cpuminer, so I can try testing again

I have debug=1 in config

===

Should I setup valgrind?

Old notes I found:

"please  compile the source code version of biblepay, and run biblepay in valgrind like this:

Code:
sudo apt get install valgrind
cd ~/biblepay-evolution/src/qt
valgrind ./biblepay-qt

If you just leave it run til it crashes again, you can then give us the line # and module filename.

Btw, you can't run valgrind on a binary (you can but it is useless to us). It must be run on a compiled source."

Reference: https://github.com/biblepay/biblepay/issues/76

===

QUESTION: Should we run valgrind on the miner and the wallet?
