181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BRO] Breakout Coin Genesis Sale | Proof-of-Bergstake | Poker | Fantasy on: November 20, 2014, 12:32:57 PM
I hope BreakoutGaming focuses lot of their marketing in the US on Fantasy Sports. The branding as a Poker site should target markets outside the US and within crypto community since a large portion of crypto usage is already in poker sites.

Overall, the decline in Poker sites is attributed mainly to the explosive growth in Fantasy sports sites within the US.

I totally agree with you that they should focus their advertising on Fantasy Sports, but I think poker is probably the easier business to build up right out of the gate.  The connection between Breakoutgaming and poker is already present based on the public figures involved.

I disagree with you about the reason their is a decline in poker sites.  It has nothing to do with the growth in fantasy sports and more to do with the grey area that exists between poker and US law.  Poker traffic has been on a decline since the DOJ investigations of FTP and PS. Poker Stars is still a multi-billion dollar company, so poker still has a lot of potential.  I'm not saying it should be the focus, but there is still money to be made.
182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BRO] Breakout Coin Genesis Sale | Proof-of-Bergstake | Poker | Fantasy on: November 19, 2014, 02:56:30 PM
Word in the online poker world is that many players are starting to get very unhappy with Poker Stars, the #1 online poker site in the world.  They are starting to flock to other sites.

Based on Pokerscout, Pokerstars (PS) has a declining traffic trend over the last 6 months http://www.pokerscout.com/SiteDetail.aspx?site=PokerStars&ab=38333685.  This could be a great opportunity for other poker sites to start drawing players away from PS.  Ever since PartyPoker stopped servicing US players, PS had a strangle hold on the #1 spot by a large margin.  It could be a great opportunity for Breakoutgaming.
183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Blocknet] The internet of blockchains | XBridge | true cross-chain P2P on: November 19, 2014, 01:53:48 PM
I am not getting any wiser here...
What is the problem and how do you solve it?

The problem:
"Cryptocurrency projects share a common dream. It is of a future free of central control and the abuses of liberty it engenders... But cryptocurrencies today function as isolated islands, with separate blockchains, nodes and users. As such, our innovations have limited usage, and one project’s advances cannot generate revenue in other networks. Further, this isolation saps resources if multiple projects develop solutions already created by others. While each project on its own is valuable, our combined technology and development skill is priceless."

The solution: an inter-blockchain application platform enabling each coin's features to function as services on every coin's apps.

Well, success spurs the creation of similar competing projects.  If Blocknet is successful, I'm sure there will be other similar projects creating isolated islands of inter-blockchain applications.

In the finance world there are many hedge funds, so someone made an investment vehicle where one can invest in many funds under one investment called "Fund of Funds".  Years later, there are many different "Fund of Funds" and we are back where we started from, the only difference is the fees we pay to invest in a "Fund of Funds" are much higher than an individual fund.

Do you follow where I'm going with this?
184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XC][XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy Platform / Encrypted XChat / Pos on: November 19, 2014, 01:32:19 PM

you meant , you won't touch this.  Cheesy

I think he just meant, there IS no whole group of people willing to talk to him in a chat.

There would be if Dan can figure out a way to bring this thread into the group chat, or if the community started using the group chat as the new XC thread.  Compatible with the mobile chat of course.  Dan should cross post all information into a group chat. Create a use for it.

Can we please stop using the stupid logic that the IPO was a fail because it wasn't on an exchange, i know some people are very simple minded and see that because recently bitbay made thousands in a few days that it is all about being on an exchange, But it is a proven fact that it is possible to get 50 times more BTC while not being sold on an exchange.

There are 20 different reasons all causing the lack of funds that were collected and a few big reasons like nothing to actually see

Maidsafe - nothing to see for a long time | Success  | no exchange
Ethereum - nothing to see for a long time | Success | no exchange
SuperNet - nothing to see for a long time | Success | BTER
CRAIGcoin - basic working platform | Success | BITTREX
TILEcoin - nothing to see for a long time | Success | BTER
BlockNet - nothing to see for a long time | Success | ALL
BitBay - nothing to see for a long time | Success | BTER
BreakoutCoin - gaming platform soon enought | Pending... | no exchange

So what about other big reasons?

You forgot about Bitshares AGS, which also wasn't on an exchange and I believed raised over 5k BTC.  That was when BTC was closer to $1k.  There are a bunch of other off-exchange ICOs that raised a lot of funds. I think Crypti raised 750 btc.
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BRO] Breakout Coin Genesis Sale | Proof-of-Bergstake | Poker | Fantasy on: November 18, 2014, 06:46:27 PM

Jay's resume alone should warrant thousands of btc for this ICO. So many people missed an opportunity here.  If people did just a little bit of research they would have uncovered talent not seen in any other project on these forums.

No one has missed an opportunity yet. The coin is still for sale.

Yes, that's true.  Sorry if my comment was misleading.

No doubt, it will be launched, maybe even before NY.

What does this mean?

188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BRO] Breakout Coin Genesis Sale | Proof-of-Bergstake | Poker | Fantasy on: November 18, 2014, 03:18:54 PM

Eternal bagholders Grin

I already see second market with sellers who charges x? for an empty wallets with bergstake.

You would have to trust the seller so I'm not sure how that would work.  Besides, even if Breakoutgaming turns out to be just a mediocre, poorly run gaming site, our Bergstake will be many times more valuable then the price we paid for it.

First things first I guess, let's get this project launched.
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BRO] Breakout Coin Genesis Sale | Proof-of-Bergstake | Poker | Fantasy on: November 18, 2014, 03:01:08 PM
But the idea itself is amazing , it's why i invested , this isn't just a coin for a simple quick deposit , this is a crypto currency that has been made specifically for the most popular use that crypto currency currently has, with a very expensive and well made online casino. The chance of longevity and an opportunity to have a completely 100% passive income of doing nothing and sitting on your ass with your wallet open to earn money every day. for years and years to come. It has life long earning potential .

Yes.  The idea of Bergstake is so powerful for a couple of reasons.  The first is the one mentioned above. The second is they created a "sticky" community.  Even if everyone that invested in the ICO sells their coins, we have the Bergstake forever.  As long as Breakoutgaming is ongoing, everyone of us will forever have an interest in this project.  None of us will ever say, "I dumped my coins so I have no interest anymore, good luck bagholders Grin".  Similar to what Bitshares did with Angelshares (Best crypto investment I made so far), I have an interest in Bitshares and Breakoutcoin for life now.  I love projects that let me lock up my interest for the long-term because 5-10 years out is when we are going to see the real returns.

And what is my crime in pesa? I don't think you guys understand the whole point behind open source and github..... When you have an open source project, and on a site like github, expect people unrelated to the project submit bugs and patches. That's the whole point why git was created. To help people help open source projects. While making cache, I did browse through loads of coins code to see how stuff was implemented. And I did contribute my patches if i saw any problem. If a person submits a patch, it's not a conspiracy, it's a piece of code. If I submit a patch to say, the android project, would you start saying that i'm involved in it?

I'm not saying you committed an actual crime.  I'm a little sour about what the original Pesa devs did and your fingerprint, along with other Fibonacci members are all over the coin.  I doubt making coins just to intentionally abandon them is an actual crime, but I'm sure you would agree it's at least scummy, right?
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CACH] CACHeCoin released based on scrypt-jane on: November 17, 2014, 02:48:41 PM
Usually the scammers dont stick with a single coin as once the profit is made, they stop logging into their account and move on to their next scam.

He hasn't stuck to a single coin.  He collaborated with Jasinlee and Fibonacci on 2 other pump and dump coins. Kalgecin was involved in Pesa and at least one other that I know about.  Who knows how many others there are.
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: PESA.CASH Proof of Strength Crypto Currency Decentralizing Mobile Money Services on: November 17, 2014, 02:03:18 PM
Personally, I'm equally as annoyed as Anticlimax.  Whive went on about how it was too much work to do the initial OP without having up front donations so he then creates posts with huge red lettering advising that he's going to shut down the project from his end.  Then, buys up all the cheap coins he can after his own announcement and tries to resurrect Pesa after he's able to acquire a stake. Umm, no thanks for me.

Pesa is just too far gone for me to support it.  All along, barabbas was posting that the only thing Max could do is put together a miner or comments related to that.  Yeah, Max worked for fibonacci, which is Jasinlee's company that basically stole $1mm+ from investors.  Admittedly, I was a little naive and didn't have any idea about the extent of Jasinlee's thievery so I truly believed they had intentions of developing Pesa.  Obviously, I was very wrong about them and they had every intention on making a pump and dump coin to abandon it.  When I got access to the github, Kalgecin (friend of Jasinlee and developer of Cachecoin) was all over it.

I don't agree on everything barabbas says, but this is one time where he was on the button right from launch date.

So, we have a scam pump and dump coin developed by Jasinlee, Kalgecin, Max and others from fibonacci and now we have another crew of developers looking to do the same thing.  Whive's actions of purposely FUDing just to purchase cheap coins knowing he was going to revive the whole time is scummy.  I have no reason to believe the "new" team is any different, in fact I truly believe the new dev is just Whive.

How does it have nothing to do with Fiberonacci? You and jasin hold the wallet. Asswipe!

Because... Asswipe.... Neither of us has access to the coins.... And even if Jasin was to "dump" them, they're currently less than 15% of the total coins. Several individuals have more than that. And as I have pointed out before, I'm not working with them anymore, I helped them setup the wallet and a bit more of coding, and that's it. This is my own project and mine alone. Asswipe

When did you stop working with Jasin and Fib?  After Pesa?

I stopped when Thibaud took off.

Pesa was after that, so that can't be true.

I said the Title.  People read the title.  Roll Eyes

wups.. sorry.. Smiley that they do. Grin

Yeah, and I agree nobody reads the OP.

You guys still didn't update the title with the deadline date.  Cheesy It's almost as if you guys want people to miss the deadline.

If my math skills serve me correctly, it doesn't seem like the below percentages add up to 100%.  Please fix the OP.

Distribution of BRO at launch
13% - 2.5 million – Developers, Marketing, Pros, Bounties, Ops
53% - 10 million – Initial Coin Sale, Genesis block + Bergstake
37% 7 million – Giveaways - 2 year distribution schedule

It should be 13%, 51%, 36%

I think better lo leave everything as it's going, but next phase host on exchange, after it's done, spare coins always can be sold to VC or private investors. Burning is good, but here I don't see it an option, it's another tier project.

Well, they need to at least think about burning the Bergstake.  They can't let one entity control that much Bergstake, which is what will happen if a VC scoops up the remaining coins.  A VC is going to be more interested in an actual stake in Breakoutgaming anyway.
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BRO] Breakout Coin Genesis Sale | Proof-of-Bergstake | Poker | Fantasy on: November 14, 2014, 12:57:31 PM

It saddens me to see BitBay coin ICO raise 1300+ Bitcoins in just 48 hours, a coin with a couple of anonymous Devs who contracted a known programmer (David Zimbeck):

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=850267.0

Running the ICO on Bter.com must be the reason why so many people are throwing their money to that ICO, because BitBay is still nothing more than a marketplace idea with non-existing user base.

OTOH, ICOs that swallowed too much funds like Ethereum, tend to make development become stagnant while Devs sit on ICO money forever, to the point that other coins like CounterParty recreated the entire Ethereum, making it obsolete and giving their ICO investors heart-attacks.

BitBay? Lol
Just another "dev" team buying their own ICO to attract some more "investors"...
Call that 80% premine owned by the that team alone.

Don't mind that...that's the reason why big ICO which have been sold fast are going down unde ICO price so fast and never recover...
Take SuperNet for example. Price is going down so fast for "no reason". Seems like it's owned mostly by inside "investors"

Anyway, it's an old game

Agreed...

My point is that hosting a coin sale on an internationally well known exchange like Bter.com has allowed BidBay to attract investors from all around the world.

Breakout team is certainly much more trustworthy than most exchanges, however, Bro Devs should probably start a coin sale on Bter for the remainder of funds needed and to attract more attention from media and investors, before launching the BRO coin.

Hosting the ICO on an exchange probably prevents the distribution of Bergstake.

Maybe they can create the genesis block and distribute to us our coins w/Bergstake.  Burn the remainder of the Bergstake from the 10mm ICO as a reward for being early investors then sell the remainder of the 10mm coins without Berstake on BTER for like a 5 day period or so.  But, only do this after beta software is released.  Whatever coins aren't sold on BTER get burned.

Start something cool Wink

Good idea.  Maybe he can start another pump and dump coin with Jasinlee and then abandon it, just like they did with Pesa.
