Just got off the phone with Chris and I can confirm you can't have a Yorkshire accent like that and not be from Yorkshire.

When I asked if I could visit them he immediately said yes and then explained the office was not fancy etc which for me is understandable being in Yorkshire and all.

Then told him I was not so interested in the office but the  manufacturing site and if I could see some working prototypes. His answer was that the the partners site (that manufactures their PCB's) was only 1 mile way and we would be able to go visit.

So I have his work email and can arrange a time to go visit and I think I will do just that as a fact finding mission.

Let me make this clear if I do go up and even if it all seems 100% legit I will not personally vouch for them. I'm not getting pinned as a accomplice but am more than happy to ask questions and take photos as I am myself thinking of purchasing.

Its a long way to Yorkshire for me so come on you northern monkeys its right on your doorstep go visit them  Grin

If you don't in the next week or so I guess its a long train ride for me.

If we could get a list of questions and fact finding task to work thu during the visit that would be great. I wouldn't want to go all that way an miss some key things where a single photo/video  might make all the difference.

184  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 04, 2014, 03:25:25 AM
I know this is a trouble shooting thread but I was thinking your exactly the guys and girls I should ask.

Would you recomend the S1 to me ?

Me:

I have mined before (26 x GPU kind of ragtag setup back in 2011).
I have Cold storage that all coins will be sent to and I will Hodl.
I Intend to buy direct from Bitmain.
Looking to get 6-8 units.
Have a 3KWp solar array.
Have tons of spare time on my hands to get these up and running.
I will read this entire thread and any instructions I can find.
Considered the X3 from black arrow but unconvinced I will get a suitable ROI.

or would I be better off with other hardware ?

I have one shot at recovering from my Gox loss and seriously considering this as one of my best options. ( yes I learnt my lesson no need to laugh at me Cry)

Any advice or tips would be really really helpful.

Respectfully

V4

Well since Gox cleared me out I guess I need to catch a train to London to get back into the game.

Does anyone know if he has lower and upper limits for cash transactions? Also will I be able to chill in his shop and redeem the code to my cold storage there and then?

Working hard raising fiat atm so if anyone is interested my libertarian sisters are for sale/hire for 10 btc each.

Note: sisters are virtual and/or made up.

Cashing in on panicked Gox customers no doubt. I wont be signing up thanks lost plenty of money already for one lifetime.
188  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New announce from MtGOX on: March 02, 2014, 06:52:01 PM
I really hate this phone only idea.

I am a native Hungarian and I still live in Hungary. And I was honest about this when they accepted my Hungarian papers during my account verification. They let me deposit EUR and buy BTC while they knew I am Hungarian. So, they must be aware that they had a multi-language consumer base from all over the world.

As you can see, I am able to write simple forum massages in English, but I never speak in English. I learned English from Hollywood movies and the internet. I have a terrible accent, up to the point that no one can understand me in English. And I have a hard time understanding English in real-time, when the sound quality is poor (or there is some noise, etc) and there is no subtitle.

And that's just English, I have nothing to do with Japanese. Not a sigle world. I wouldn't even recognize if somebody speaks Japan or that's something else from Asia...

So, can somebody else represent me during this phone call? Do I have to pay for somebody to make this call for me as my legal representative?
That's just stupid! Why can't I communicate in email on my own?
What if I were mute? (Thank God, I am not, but...) They never warned me that mute people should not do business there because it is possible that they will be forced to use a phone.
And let's not forget that I will have a crazy phone bill coming if I have to call Japan or USA from Hungary (these kind of things have crazy price tags here).

Sent you a PM. I will be calling them on Monday I am happy to ask Questions for you as I am sure they will also be questions I would like answers to. Do not send me personal information.

looks like mtgox has an update on their website with a phone number to a call center opening on March 3rd...

Well should be interesting. Update on the 3rd From Gox but this time we might even get some information since a lot of people not normally around mark are there to guide him.

Who knows this update might not reek of incompetence.

Not holding breath.

Whether M.K is Jewish or not is irrelevant.

Wow I was thinking this thread was going to be 100% racist bullsht but some of it was actualy interesting . Damit now I have to go away and find some sources and learn a bit. Thanks I guess.

Still its is a really touchy subject and maybe better off in P&S sub forum who knows. Shame the OP started the thread in such a base way when some of the later content is an interesting thought provoking read.

"I followed the 500,000 BTC for a bit beginning at https://blockchain.info/tx/b26....

The coins go through a sequence of events, where the majority is sent to a fresh address and a small bit is sent away from Mt.Gox. This repeats a few times until the majority is paid back to the main Mt.Gox address.

This happens several times, until this transaction:

https://blockchain.info/tx/478...

Here is where it starts to get interesting.

What's left of the 500,000 (429.9k) is split into roughly half and sent to 2 new address. And then each of those address splits the coins in half and sends to two new address.

The end result is that the 429k was split again to many address which each now contain less than 1,000 BTC each. I stopped following the transactions there.

Why take 429k and split it into many addresses each containing less than 1,000 BTC each?

I'd like to see someone trace all of these coins and see if they end up coming together somewhere."

End
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wow My amateur 10 mins on blockchain might have been on the right track. Maybe tomorrow I should actually learn about this stuff then start following this.

197  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Time to strike back against Karpeles - The ultimate plan for all mtgox victims on: March 01, 2014, 09:28:22 AM
I lost 60 btc upon the closure of the mtgox. I didn't lose them because of my poor trading abilities but because of mark karpeles's incompetency.

therefore I am willing to spend another 60 btc worth in dollars, in order for some japanese Yakooza wiseguys to meet him in some dark corner and make him disappear. I think it would be the best investment at this moment for me in order to make sure that other exchanges doesn't follow the path of mtgox and take a better care of my money.

does anyone know some yakooza in japan?

I was thinking about this exact situation last night and it got me to thinking if I was Yakuza and I had Goxcoins what would I do.

I think I would be taking every step I could to ensure his safety because as yet we still don't know where the coins are which means he could be worth one hell of a lot more to my clan than the money we originally had laundered in Gox.  ( problem is all eyes are on him atm)

So if you do take a trip to Japan it might be worth thinking long and hard about which clan you go to talk about this with.

Disclaimer: I don't condone mark getting killed but do support his right to commit Seppuku if he wishes bla bla etc.

Lolz hell Yea HODL for sure  Grin

I'm Holding my 0.79 btc like its my last Btc on earth.....

it is..sniff.

Still.. got my chin up and my minds whirling away on ways to improve that.

You know I was worried that we shouldnt chat on this thread but then got to thinking its not like anyone is going to come here and report a Gox transaction delay  Grin
199  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: March 01, 2014, 08:37:49 AM

don't worry mate, i don't have a clue about blockchain either, I can't wait to give the transaction printoff from my account to my accountant!

Lol He would just love you I bet. Back in the day I had an accountant and talked to him about this he said get back to me in a week. Week later he said just tell me the exchange rates at point of sale and tell me how many of these things you have sold and I will sort it out. I was well impressed.

BTW Comes under capital gains if they are your coins and ya sell em Smiley

here a 860k coin is seen. May those be missig coins?
https://blockchain.info/pt/largest-recent-transactions

I wont pretend I have been to blockchain.info before I got Goxxed and have spent less than 10 mins total on the website= 10 mins ever looking at the blockchain.

However the part I looked at seemed like $500,000.00 being sent to a new address then having 10,000 mBTC split off and sent elsewhere then the pattern restarts with each wallet only ever having a history of 1 transaction in and 2 out.

Again I would be the very very worst person to look at this because I only started learning 10 mins ago.

If I'm understanding this right (lolz I doubt it) then that's going to be a very very hard $0.5mil to keep track of in the future no?

Also how far does that money go back before this process was started ?

Again great time to jump in and call me a noob and make sense of it to us all. I honestly don't mind being embarrassed over this like i said got no clue.

PS its 0800 and not slept FU gox
