is what is actually going on, more or less.

Yesterday, our President said in his address to the nation : "At first all of us were equally afraid. Later all of us were equally in pain. And now it's all the same for us all. The only thing we need is victory." Meaning, we just don't give a fuck how many more heavy missiles they launch at us, and how many more troops they send. We will defend our freedom. We will defend our free choice to live in union with Western democratic countries, and not with a big country frightened by a miserable dictator and his oprichniks.

And you know what's funny? There's no panic among people around here. Not a bit. Yesterday, standing in the long line to a food store, I was so happy to see that people were just smiling, joking on how long it will take to putin-huilo to kill himself and stuff. 🙂

In short, Don't worry about us, friends. We are ok here, and we know that we will win because the whole civilized world is on our side. 141 countries condemning Russia’s invasion in the U.N. General Assembly is very good news for us here. And Thank you, guys, for your support before the Assembly. We feel it in the form of food, electricity, internet and, of course, in the form of advanced weaponry, without which it would be harder for us to survive.



Yeah, nobody in his right mind would decide to wipe out the whole population of a country, but the thing is, Putin is not a sane person currently. But we are not afraid. With your support we will kill all his zombies here on our land. Good conquers evil. I really believe in that.

In theory, Putin's army is supposed to have a large number of technologically updated warplanes and Ukraine, while having a reasonable army, could not really stop them in the air. Air superiority / supremacy should be easy to achieve for Putin, but it does not seem to be happening.

Also, the movement of a large number of troops north of Kyiv would put to shame even the most incompetent of the Second Word war generals. These troops seem like a sitting duck (should I say a sitting snail?) just waiting for a rain of "Javelins".

What do you think of the abilities that, until now, Putin's generals have shown?

I am not discussing the general principle: Pin Ukrainians army in Kiev with several columns and by threating the government, while taking the Black sea coast and Donbas (primary real objective). Plus use disinformation about wanting to depose the government (which may be true as well) to ensure that the resources that should be defending Odessa are used in the north. I am discussing what looks like a poor execution for an invasion that was years in the planning.

I think you should call your embassy and ask them to provide help. Bear in mind that EU is officially aiding Ukrainian refugees as they are in the most need, but if you are classified under other categories (e.g. students, other workers,...) it should be your diplomatic services providing engagement and means with the local authorities. You may actually do not have a legal right to cross to Poland without some short of process.

This is not a justification for discrimination as such. Everyone has to be treated humanly and not left to die simply on a compassion basis.

Reports showed that some Africans have been forced to remain in Ukraine.They are been pushed out of queues and priority were given to Europeans and other “white” nationals.  

African students are left waiting for days to cross in freezing temperatures without food, blankets or shelters. Some were pushed down as they tried to board trains. Ukrainian and Polish citizens were allowed to pass through while foreigners have to go through four stages process that lasted from 14 to 50 hour.

Ukrainians and Poles we know it has not been easy, but nobody deserves to die please.

This is probably only surprising for Americans and maybe Western Europeans. Of course they are going to evacuate their own citizens first and then those that are just travelling closer (like the Polish for example). I suppose the Poles were also given priority so they can help prepare their country, which could be next on the chopping block if this war escalate further.

Last I heard in the news, they've already banned male Ukrainians from fleeing the country and are arming them so those other nationalities are probably gonna be able get out now.

Could have used a better system sooner though, like reserve a certain portion of seats (or maybe one coach) for the non-Europeans.

The effect of the sanctions on Russia has started hitting its economy hard. The Russian ruble has lost 30% of its value trading at 100 to the dollar. Economists has warned that Russian economy could shrink by 5%.

But Putin has shown no sign of slowing down the invasion. His response was placing nuclear deterrent forces on high alert and continuing missile attack on key Ukrainian cities. It has also being rumored that Belarus can now be a base for nuclear weapons and its troops can invade Ukraine at anytime.

Putin's actions is showing the Russia is economically fortified or Russia is important to NATO and its Allies economically.

Do you think sanctions alone can stop Putin?

We all speak of how this forum is one big family. A family to the best of my understanding supports one another through thick and thin. I'm concerned about our brothers and sisters in Ukraine who are members of this forum and have been displaced from homes for safety mainly and other reasons this period.

I'm pretty sure when Wehrmacht entered Poland it was also a military operation, not an invasion to them. When the US went to Vietnam it was also a military operation. Does it change anything?
Civilians are being shot at, shelled, bombarded, their houses burn, their children bleed. Stop spreading Putin's propaganda and accept the facts. They are using artillery and planes to bombard residential areas and lying to their own citizens saying that they're using precise strikes and targeting only military objects. Russia is one big joke starting from their lying politicians and ending with their junk equipment and lack of supply lines.

Yesterday some Russian soldiers run out of fuel and went to a police station to ask for some. Of course they were captured and disarmed. The stupidity of the Russian army has no limit.
