1801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][THC][1.7] The Hempcoin (THC) ✿ UPGRADED POW/POS ✿ Spread the Seeds ✿ EPIC on: December 18, 2014, 01:48:16 AM
Is anyone else buying cheap coins? Right now is a good time to get in for another $20. I think $20 is buying something crazy like 200,000+.

Most coins are dropping in price. This isn't just a THC thing. No need to be worried that price is low and this coin is going to disappear.

I have accumulated over 1 million THC that I am going to give away for free through the viral social marketing part of hemp.cash. 100,000 coins made the site viral last time so 1,000,000 is going to be interesting. I'm working on the scaling issue and will try to combine the release of the social marketing with a new THC wallet upgrade.

It's winter vacation time so something might get done. Many people are in university or have full time jobs. There will be some people with free time for 2 weeks.

One good thing about STV is that it can hold its value for a long time until more technology gets invented and becomes cheaper.

CannaCart should add in some Growing supplies. Lights, tents, organic nutrients, etc. Anonymous transactions may be something buyers are into.

"Popup display: Shipping information deleted from the database within 48 hours."

I'm not interested in buying any of that stuff but I could see how that would seem like a more secure way of ordering growing supplies online.

If anyone is interested in accepting Cannacoin (CCN) we have an open-cart plugin and we can assist in development for your web-shop to accept Bitcoin, Cannacoin, and other cryptocurrencies.

If you are a manufacturer of a product and would like to have your product in our store, http://cannacoin.cc/store/, please contact us:

Nice job. I might try out making a shop in OpenCart. Right now my e-commerce websites are in Joomla or Drupal.
1805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GROW | CryptoGrowShop.com | Scrypt POW/POS | Coin-Swap.net on: December 08, 2014, 08:56:12 PM
I've been pushing someone to try this free store idea for along time. I tried a small version of it at a festival with a popup tent. I sold out, selling stuff at a 20% markup.

Cannacoin Christmas,

The value you're seeing in each coin (currently ~4k satoshi) is directly tied to the planned scarcity or "rarity" of CCN's protocol/supply, just take a look a bitcoin and ask yourself... "Why would Satoshi Nakamoto only create 21 million coins when he started BTC?". The answer is that each coin is almost infinitely divisible (0.00000001) which in turn allows for a frictionless currency that can acquire much more value with a limited supply then a lot of theses over inflated currencies/crypto coins with millions or billions being mined and in circulation (think federal reserve or even DOGE). These coins with an over abundance will have a hard time playing supply/demand when their networks are over-saturated with supply and lack the demand (or future demands) to play keep up. Think about it this way, each coin is made up of 100,000,000 (100 million individual units) satoshi's.. that's a lot of currency for each unit (1 coin).

With our transition to proof-of-stake demand can easily rise and justify increases in price due to an even more limited supply of 2% annual interest going forward. The move also removes aspects of centralization in mining and opens up many more possibilities for broader network security not to mention simply allowing anyone with coin to now participate in earning CCN.

I knew when creating CCN that a decision to limit the supply would/could dramatically reflect in the overall marketcap and could potentially limit our audience who purely base investments on a coins a coins marketcap however, on the flip side I also strongly believe that current models of "marketcap" are a total fallacy in crypto and feel our goal in the ecosphere is much more long term oriented and follows the supply philosophy that less is more. This longer term vision of ours is what will allow us to continue to drive value to our coin/network over time which in turn will help everyone see the same value you see and make us all happy campers am I right?

Tokes up,
SubCreative

Dear Investors and Community,

Going forward once this coin becomes Proof-of-Stake the network security and value is in the hands of community members and investors.  You decide the price you want to sell your coins at.  You all decide what the network will be used for.  It is everyone’s responsibility to add value to this network because you ARE the network.

I really believe that now is the time to get involved in the Cannabis industry.  We are making huge progress here in the Pacific NW.  10 years from now, people will look back at the industry and wish they had this opportunity.  I am challenging everyone to invest not just in Cannacoin, but in products and services for Cannacoin and in applications that utilize the Cannacoin network – of which we are just scratching the surface.

We have a dedicated developer.  We have dedicated investors.  We can channel this huge amount of investment of time, energy, and money in this coin into new ventures.  We have an opportunity to be our own bank with our own payment network. This is a crowd-funding platform if you want it to be.  You just need to provide people with an incentive to join the network and be willing to give them the opportunity to invest.  So the question I would ask to everyone is, what do you want to see Cannacoin and the Cannacoin network used for and how are you going to apply your skills to help make it happen?

-Patrick

What does the team need from the community?
1)   Fundraising
2)   Graphic Designers
3)   Social Media promotion
4)   Bring in more Developers
5)   Sponsor Fiverr campaigns: https://www.fiverr.com/
6)   Corporate/Company partnerships

What do we need to do to make it easy for the community to be able to participate?
1)   Open Cannapay Beta completely
2)   Completely secure staking wallets w/ 2FA (fobfuscate project) – free for Cannacoin community
3)   Roadmap for Cannapay and individual donation address– partial open-sourcing of the project
4)   Roadmap for NWGT.tv and individual donation address
5)   Bitcoin Dev Fund
6)   Cannacoin Dev Fund
7)   Lots of Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit content
8.)   Consistent development updates

What we envision for the Cannacoin cryptocurrency network:
1)   Blockchain for content and product activation.  Similar “conditional freeware” concept.
a.   NWGT.TV premium subscribership
b.   NWGT.ORG premium access marketplace/wholesale
c.   Cannapay Premium access and features
2)   Stocks/Commodities traded on the Blockchain through decentralized Cannabis exchange
3)   Voting
4)   The community needs to help fund development or devote time and energy.  It’s not going to happen without everyone pitching in.

Community Feedback:

1) Get a black and white picture of our server costs.

2) Consolidate costs and make a budget plan for the community to see.

3) Create a visual roadmap and solidify a graphics design team.

Let’s move together as investors in development.

An additional idea I have been pushing for someone to try is the super discount. Right now computer developers and marketers are working for free to try and make this cryptocoin stuff work. I want other people to use their skills for free towards getting cryptocoins used in the mainstream.

I want an e-commerce store, retail store or festival popup tent that operates for free or a small 10% mark up. The one problem with this is that it requires up front costs. It requires the $10,000 for a shipping container of product. If there was some way to get that $10,000 into the system then the shop should be able to work.

Unlike normal money, Cryptocoins value can go up. Even at a small 10% markup, if this coin ever goes up 100x in value then you will have made 10x more money than someone running a store.

This is just one idea. I really like the idea of someone using their skills that aren't computer related to improve the coin.

1808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GROW | CryptoGrowShop.com | Scrypt POW/POS | Coin-Swap.net on: December 08, 2014, 07:25:50 PM
I just realized one benefit to this site. It's one of very few e-commerce growing supply stores that accepts any type of cryptocoin. I can see a tiny little market for such a thing. Image combining super discounts with anonymity in this market place!

I don't think that the e-commerce store owner should try to make this some sort of job that he lives on by making profits from each sale.

What do people think about this idea:

- Perform a coinswap and create 2 million new grow coins.
- Do a second round funding, 2 million coin sales at a new price of 1140 satoshi a coin.
- Now that an e-commerce store has been created 22.8 BTC seems like it could be raised easily.
- The 22.8 BTC raised will be used to purchase a shipping container of whatever product is the most popular.
- Sell that product for a small 5% to 10% markup.
- Get the grow army to spam every growing forum and sell out of everything in 1 day.
- Find out which product people want next.
- Repeat process with the next product.

p.s. giving away 1 million coins for 2 weeks of useless PoW mining was dumb. You should have just given coins away to people who wanted to stake and tried to get 100 people permanently staking 10,000 coins each.

Sad that you miss the ICO? Looks like it Cheesy

Not sad as of now.

Right now the site is useless except to people living in Holland, who want to pay retail price with a cryptocoin and who want to supply their address to the seller. I don't think that market is very large...

I'm trying to give some advice on how to improve this coin to something big.

1809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GROW | CryptoGrowShop.com | Scrypt POW/POS | Coin-Swap.net on: December 08, 2014, 07:22:33 PM
An alternative idea to my proposed coin-swap would be:

Pretend this is the most popular item that everyone wants 5 of http://cryptogrowshop.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=46&product_id=97

- take pre-orders on the site.

IDK what it costs to get that but maybe it's $15 from the manufacturer. Now say on the site, taking pre-orders for that product. $20 worth of grow. If I get 500 pre-orders in the next 4 weeks then everyone gets the item, otherwise all coins will be returned in 4 weeks.

1811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: December 08, 2014, 06:52:21 PM
Any good news? I sold at 4700-4800 sat now is 5300 sat Cry

Hope I can buy back
you are lucky man,
I sold at 3500 sat, at the IPO price, so regret.
Yeah we just hit an all time high of 7448 sat. Even I regret, so don't feel bad.

You also sold some? BTW, it is going down now. I hope I have chance to buy back

I bought the ICO because decentralized storage is a cool idea. That concept will be the way everyone stores almost everything. There are many other cloud storage things coming out though. I wish I could have only bought storJ but it looks like I'm going to have to buy 100 other tokens/coins to make sure I don't miss out on decentralized storage.

IMO storJ is looking like the best so far. I see storJ being like the enterprise grade level storage engine with many different cheap storJ forks for the average person.

The one thing I hate about storj.io is that it started at a pretty massive marketcap for the coins. The initial ICO gave the coin a $4 million marketcap. From an investment point of view, if you could get in early on a storJ fork at a $5,000 marketcap then that will probably pay off with higher returns.

You people are living in a fantasy land if you don't think that shop is over priced.

But anyways, the more important idea is people with other type of skills working for free. That's how you get the real world publicity. It would be great to have a skilled e-commerce shop owner/operator work for free. Someone who has the skills to source high quality hemp clothes with the GROW logo and sell them for $5 or less (whatever they paid for them). Someone who can source seeds direct from the grower and sell them for $1 each. There's a problem with this shop owner skill as it requires the owner to pre-pay for merchandise which risks money instead of only time.

This shop owner shows skills in creating/maintaining a shop but seems to be lacking in the skills to acquire quality merchandise for cheap.

It's too bad this fool wasn't thinking far enough into the future. He could have planned to sell off half of ICO to build the shop, then sell off the other half today to acquire merchandise for free. That would have allowed the shop owner to work for free and get some mainstream media attention for this coin.

1815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GROW - Growth is Beautiful - CryptoGrowShop.com - POW/POS - Scrypt on: December 08, 2014, 02:38:14 AM
Why the ICO?

...So that this person could spend a few weeks making an over priced store (http://cryptogrowshop.com/) which will never sell anything.

If this person actually made seeds and could sell them for 1 GROW for 1 seed or $10 for 1 seed, then maybe this coin has a future. It's not like some OpenCart e-commerce store with crypto intergration is going to to do anything for this coin.

Right now everyone is making open source software for free. It's too bad that e-commerce store operators, farmers or other skilled people don't work for free as well.

The new scrypt ASICs are coming out this month. 20x more hashing power than the ones from 6 months ago.

I wonder how this will effect THC.

Many companies aren't releasing new asics, like Zeus and the Volcano, or KNC and GAW not putting ASICS in the hands of miners. Which are you referring to? Ensilica and Flower partnership? That won't happen for another few months.

I was going off the information that Zeus and KNC said 3 months that they would be shipping Dec 10h. You will still be able to rent cheap miners if that is what the new style is going to be. It's probably cheaper to do it that way since they must be located in the cheapest power location.

A multi-algo PoW coin with PoS is the way to go. None exists yet though. I'm working on making one right now. It's tough, no one has figure it out yet.

1817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NEOS]Neos v2.0.1 Released - Official Upgrade Thread - Performance & More on: December 08, 2014, 12:45:21 AM

If anyone wants to help out other people with getting information on this coin I would love to see summarized IRC chat log updates every 1 or 2 weeks. It's a lot of work trying to follow coins.

I had 52,000 NEOS so not a big effect on the market and I didn't dump all at once like that fool who did that on Dec 4th. If you're in this coin long term then I would think you want the price to drop as low as possible so you can buy more before it has a 100x growth. If you can play these little 2x and 3x ups/drops back down properly then you can double your NEOS for FREE! Once NEOS does release something that attracts investors then that free double up is quite valuable.

I never really understand why people that love a coin always want it's price to rise. I would want price to drop so I can buy more when I sell some other coin for a profit or get a pay check.

Oh a few have been accumulating, big things coming for neos Wink
I'm at 100k+ now. I'm assuming theres a few like me since no ones dumping.

I dumped. This is a long term coin. There will be no improvements or news stories for many months. The price will be back down at 1500 unless cryptocoins all go crazy when bitcoin goes to $2000. I will be accumulating again once it drops more.
