Come one month after the sale, is born again scammer Jake still going to be looking to improve his karma and return your money?
Yes. Anything else? I guess that settles it, if the yes is underlined it must be true. I am kind of curious what your role is in this sale. I also noticed you defending user "terrytibbs" in another thread. He sold me a spotify membership a few weeks ago that was purchased with a stolen credit card. Are you the hero status member that gives credibility to shady deals without taking flak directly when things go wrong?

... If your argument was that the supplier to Jake might be obtaining the cards in an illegitimate manner, then phrase it that way and I'd be most happy to discuss what potential problems can arise from trusting third or even fourth parties with merchandise over the internet for that matter. I know Jake is going to put his own money up first to purchase and if the transaction holds up, has any difficulties or god forbid he got a hold of some bad cards, then he will bite the bullet. I'll make sure of it. ...
That was my assumption. If he had stolen the credit cards himself I'm sure the gift cards would have been out the door already. Could take a few weeks for newegg to be notified that the gift card was purchased with a stolen credit card. If you've already purchased something with it, I'm not sure how NewEgg would handle things at that point. They may send you an invoice, or report you to the authorities. Come one month after the sale, is born again scammer Jake still going to be looking to improve his karma and return your money?

... You may have noticed that I have reputation for being a scammer here, I have changed and you can trust me any way you like ...
Beware of an admitted scammer saying they have "changed"... No doubt he may send something first but newegg will revoke them once they determine they've been purchased with stolen credit cards. Oh will they now? Go crawl back in your hole. I know where he's getting them from. If there is any issue, I'm covering it. Before I crawl into any holes, can you please explain how any legitimate business obtains newegg gift cards for 60% off face value? If this is 100% legit, could you also explain what issues you expect may come up for you to cover?

They were all purchased with stolen credit cards. Here's the email I received from spotify when asking if I could re-open my account. Anyone have this guy's email address? Hi, You have recently redeemed a Spotify e-code on your Spotify account. The e-code was purchased using stolen credit card details. For this reason, your Spotify account has been disabled. Please be advised that you should only pay for a Spotify subscription or e-code via the Spotify website ( http://www.spotify.com), or through authorised resellers. We would be very grateful if you could tell us where you purchased the e-code, or if it was a gift, could you ask the giver, so that we can stop this from happening again. If you wish to continue using Spotify, please create a new Spotify account. Best Regards, Alexis

Just tried to log in to my spotify account first time in a few weeks. Looks like my account has been locked. Anyone get their account re-activated after using a terrytibbs premium code? Probably purchased them with a stolen credit card...

Accounts are legitimate and the turnaround was quick, good seller.

Be careful, this guy is a known scammer. Search his name around the forum, he took off with a lot of people's BTC.
Thanks. Mods, can you mark thydude as a scammer so he doesn't take anyone else's bitcoins?
|

What came of this? Did anyone get scammed by thydude? I just made an offer on the laptop he is selling today but after searching for his name on the forums I'm not going to risk trading with him. Why isn't his account marked as scammer yet?

let me know how this works out, peace
Turns out pirate live about 3 miles away from me. Met him at a 7 eleven and did the transaction in the parking lot. Awesome seller, and great deal. Would definitely do business again.

I hope so. I'm in Dallas so I would prob do a local pickup.

|
|
I'm interested if it's still available. I can do 1.5 BTC

Bought 2 already. The promo has been extended twice, probably cause they are not selling well. I fully expect the promo will be extended again tomorrow, and I'll buy a third at that point. Sorry, not trying to thread crap. I would rather buy a used card from a forum member with BTC and help keep the currency alive, but the price has to be reasonable given what new ones are selling for.

Let me know if you change your mind. I'll probably be buying a new one from newegg for $400 within the next couple days if no one wants to get rid of their used 5970s.
|
|
|
I can give you $325 for 1 of them.

Yeh, I got one on the last promotion and one on the current promotion. They don't appear to be selling very quickly, so I'm sure the special will be extended again after the 4th. I'll probably buy another at that point, but was hoping someone wanted to get rid of a used one for less ...
