^^^^reddit link^^^^The Fessler FoundationThe Fessler Foundation funds research in the development of new technology and treatments for those affected by spinal cord injuries. Scott Fessler is a good friend of mine. In 2006, he was involved in a motorcycle accident resulting in a C-5 injury to his spinal cord, paralyzing him from the shoulders down. Since then, he has dedicated his life to helping others with spinal cord injuries. Through his foundation, Scott has helped fund breakthrough technologies and treatments for individuals with spinal cord injuries. I've recently convinced Scott to start accepting Bitcoin donations through the foundation's website: fesslerfoundation.orgFrom what I heard, the April 13th Poker event went well, although I'm not sure if anyone in the community attended. He'll be posting pictures of the event soon.

Frekaing awesome! Way to go blaine! I still remember your drawings of your avatar when you were selling video cards. This is an entirely diff step. Thank you for your work in improving the btc community! Wow, good memory! It's pretty amazing that my first big sale was a 6990 for 82 BTC and just 2 years later, a Porsche for 300 BTC.

Actually, business insider contacted me. I guess I was the first on the first page to have a visible email on profile. Ha, I guess he wasn't interested in creating a forum account. By the way, that article got a lot of attention. Enough attention for him to write a positive follow up article on Bitpay today: http://www.businessinsider.com/interview-bitpay-founder-tony-gallippi-2013-4

At the moment, load balancing methods in CGMiner and BFGMiner do not distribute across pools very evenly. I've also experienced issues with pool connections causing the miner to hang, causing me to lose valuable mining time. I've created a shell script which launches an instance of cgminer or bfgminer for each device, with each device tied to a different master pool. With ASICs soon to be released in mass quantities, I believe it is important for all work to be evenly distributed across the major pools. If you have multiple devices, singling each one out with a pool may be the most reliable load balancing method. Feel free to modify and improve. Thanks, Marked as sold. I did not see a delete option...

In other news, the sale of a $40,000 sports car for bitcoin is considered off-topic. I suppose if bitcointalk.org newcomers want to know about the latest bitcoin related news, they are going to have to go to the goods section or have a browse through Off-Topic. Shame...

Thanks guys! Looks like someone beat me to the reddit post. I could care less about Karma and I wouldn't mind but he spelled Porsche wrong and did not post a pic.. I've asked him to delete or fix but no response, please down vote his if you get a chance Downvote! They will be paying taxes on the estimated value of the car when they register it, so it's not completely void of fiat. No money laundering involved.

WopWop, the big deal is that a large, legitimate transaction was complete over the bitcoin network. Fixed the reddit link(UpVote!) http://www.reddit.com/tb/1bkhjp

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=143722.0My Porsche sold today for ~300 Bitcoins! If this isn't proof that Bitcoin is a legitimate currency, then I don't know what is. The buyer purchased his initial Bitcoin investment at around $4 a piece so they got an amazing deal. I'm not sure if this is the single largest item sold for BTC, but I can guarantee it's the first $40,000 vehicle sold for ~300 BTC. The buyer wishes to remain anonymous, but I've asked a bitpay representative to come and post in the original thread to confirm the transaction occurred. Help me spread the word, upvote the story on reddit: http://www.reddit.com/tb/1bkhjpSubmit to as many news agencies as you please, Bitcoin is here to stay!

Sold! I'll post an update soon.
For Bitcoins?? Yes, the transaction is occurring this evening and assuming the deal does not fall through I'll mark the item as sold. I'm thinking this should be big news for bitcoin, I'll post on reddit after the sale, something along the lines of "Porsche Cayman S sold for 3xx BTC". Anyone have any ideas on which news organizations to submit to? I recently noticed a man putting his shanty up for BTC in Canada making the rounds, surely this is more interesting?!

355 BTC right now. Pretty amazing, but it seems all potential buyers are waiting indefinitely for a higher exchange rate. Today is the last day to purchase at market rate, I'll be moving to a static pricing model tomorrow morning. Barring a dramatic shift in value, tomorrow's BTC price will be 400 BTC.

I apologize in advance for not reading the last 10 pages of posts, but the pics I saw in the OP seem to be the same images as shown in this BFL video. Same bench, same laptop, etc. So did Luke-Jr take delivery of a unit or not? I understand it might be possible he was given the unit to work on remotely or something. I hope this isn't just deception by BFL to avoid owning up to not shipping by March 31st. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4C4bgho5JSII was the first one to bring it up on page two: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=163261.msg1713429#msg1713429How do you know Josh isn't hanging out at Luke's house this week?.. Luke probably purchased multiple rigs through Josh a while back for hosting at the DC. If that's the case, then technically, it has shipped. I wouldn't want to be the arbitrator on any bets though.

I've added a picture of the vehicle cover included with sale. There are currently 3 buyers interested in picking up the car soon. All are waiting for BTC to hit a certain price before they pull the trigger. I will be selling to the first buyer that can make it down to Austin who's willing to pay the current BTC market value.
