I will request John the Dog for escrow.

 Grin Grin Grin Grin

John the Dong will be amused.

I have seen him referenced that way but thought it surely was a typo, given his forum avatar... My apologies Mr. Dong! I've sent him a PM with escrow request.

I'd like to reiterate that the buyer who purchases my Batch 2 Avalon will be effectively mining on day 1 at 3.57 BTC per day with no difficulty increase. If the price goes down to 300 BTC(6 week delay from Avalon), you will have the option to cancel or wait it out at 300BTC.
1362  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICMINER: Erupter Blades. Review, comments, photos, and discussion! on: April 22, 2013, 07:31:34 PM
avalon batch #2 is 500btc+ as of now. The blade thing is 7 time less cheap, yet only 6.5 time less H. And you can have it right now. Instead it smells fishily delicious.

I'm selling mine for 300BTC. That is >=6.7 times the hashing power of the erupters for just 4 times the price. Much better deal, but no one seems to be interested yet. I'm also offering escrow through a reputable member with coins returned in the event of a prolonged Avalon delay for a higher price(still 11% lower than the erupter auction sale)

Do you have your Avalon with you? How long before it gets shipped?
It's batch 2, so it's not in hand, but I've come up with a method to handle that. Price starts at 450, once buyer commits, price decreases 25BTC per week until unit is shipped from Avalon(more or less what you would make mining with the device) I will request John the Dog for escrow.

Did all auction winners end up paying? I've got my batch #2 Avalon listed in goods at >40% off BlockErupter winning price with no bites from anyone, including those that bid over 42BTC but did not win. Seems like they would be all over a deal like that. I'd have to agree that this sale smells a little fishy.
1366  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [wts] BFL Single SC 60GH first round pre-order for sale. on: April 22, 2013, 02:46:05 AM
100 BTC is a great deal for a July order. For reference, 10 10gh/s ASICminer block erupters just sold for 75 BTC each, although I'm curious how many of them will actually pay... My 3 october orders mentioned above went for $10,995 each last month on eBay. Both buyers never paid though, and I suspect few are actually receiving any payments on their eBay sales.

We may have one down with two to go. I'm not sure If David paid for his unit so he may not qualify as a customer. I'll try to get that info from him. If he's been been to BFL, let me know. BTCguild shows 5.5 gh/s avg but David states it is fluctuating from 4.5 to 5.5 on bfgminer so we can avg at 5gh/s. Also this is measured with killawatt after powerbrick so draw should actually be lower. In any case, 5 gh/s at 30.2 brings us to:

165.56 mh/j

Please check if I got something wrong guys. Friedcat will be contacting the winners directly (via PM or thread post) with your payment addresses.

Congratulations again!

Congratulations winners, and congratulations ASICMiner! I'm amazed that these units sold at this price, it really shows how much ASICS are in demand. With that said, I've got an excellent offer for those of you that bid but were not lucky enough to be in the top ten. I'm offering an Avalon ASIC batch #2 order for 40.3% off the lowest winning block erupter price of 75BTC for 10gh/s. At that price, the 67gh/s AVALON price equivalent is 502.5 BTC. I'm selling mine for 300 BTC!

If you bid over 44.775 BTC on a block erupter unit, then this deal is for you!
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=181135.0

This is a preorder price only. If you are looking for the security of an escrow assisted purchase with BTC returned in the event of prolonged delay, I am offering a higher price point which is still 11% off of Block erupter price!. Visit my sale thread for more info.
1369  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Receiving Address Analysis. Batch #2 Units sold, and when. on: April 20, 2013, 07:15:56 AM
Yours was a bit different fpgaminer, along with a few of the other transactions grouped into a 7000 payment to a temporary address
http://blockchain.info/address/15Vy5wtdSbThaFByrzFhMc9ZKC69TmcVwp
All of these inputs appear to be Avalon purchases, but they may already be accounted for at the address I listed in the original post.

I followed that temp transaction to what I thought was perhaps an Avalon address:
http://blockchain.info/address/1AB2pgzv4yZQWp1ZS5Vb8sHWGHbuXwh2An

Alas, that account makes a deposit to Walletbit's cold wallet on the 6th of feb, so dead end there
http://blockchain.info/tx/c48242a3bb595d43afeafb80e0e79ddfe6ef8afb5f0d1aa7864e1e7bd5e373f5

Kind of fun digging through the blockchain though...
1370  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Receiving Address Analysis. Batch #2 Units sold, and when. on: April 20, 2013, 06:44:38 AM
I looked through a couple of those and it appears they posted their transaction to Walletbit. You can follow the transaction as it is consolidated into larger walletbit wallets, then to what I believe is one of Walletbit's cold wallet addresses http://blockchain.info/address/1BadjLJqb2CB73t3ZJ296xrwhHNhyo5JaU

The important transaction is the one from Walletbit to Avalon, which may be hard to extract from the original transaction. That is, unless you created a walletbit account. You can get the receiving account from the details of your transaction on your walletbit dashboard(you may be able to do this with a guest account payment as well, I'm not sure...)

For example, here is my transaction with walletbit, when I first tried to order the Avalon on the 3rd.
CrazyBlane --> Walletbit

And here's the transaction from my walletbit account to Avalon when I was actually able to get an order through 7 days later.
Walletbit --> Avalon

Perhaps the second address was only used for payments from walletbit accounts(163 total) and there is another address that received payment for the remaining 437 units?

1372  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon users: bitcoind + eloipool configuration on: April 20, 2013, 05:47:32 AM
Thanks for the writeup Jgarzik!

What kind of hardware utilization are you seeing out of eliopool? I noticed you suggested using an SSD, is eliopool a high IOPS application? Were you experiencing any disk queuing with lower speed drives, resulting in a performance drop, or did you anticipate this? How about RAM usage?

I'm building out a low powered atom based mini pc that I plan on running multiple instances of bfg or cgminer, along with eliopool. I want to make sure I cover all of my bases. Thanks again.
1373  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Intel Atom Based Mini PC on: April 20, 2013, 05:31:55 AM
NUC is pretty neat, but it's too expensive and more power than I need. I'm looking to run a few singles, lukejr's eliopool and multiple instances of bfg or cgminer. I figure an atom cpu, 8gb of ram and a nice ssd should be able to handle that just fine.

This is what you guys are up against at the moment:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16856205007

If you have something close to or better than those specs, cheaper, or built out, contact me quick. Otherwise, I'll prob go ahead and pick it up on Monday.

Avalon Receiving Address Analysis - 18QRSo26TqPZtH1guLfwNXZ2EfZpe7y8Ks

I have my Batch#2 pre-order listed in goods and I wanted to get an estimate of where I was in line. Looking at the address that received my payment from Walletbit, I came up with a rough estimate of anywhere from 64 to 235 units ahead of me. So I decided to go ahead and analyze all payments to this address and found some interesting data...

We can assume Avalon either sold a majority of the units outside of Walletbit, or there were multiple addresses used(163 sold at this address vs 600 Avalon says they sold) Perhaps there was a different address for the fractional payments in the first couple days that were paid in full at a later date? If you paid someone other than Walletbit, or the Avalon receiving address is not "18QRSo26TqPZtH1guLfwNXZ2EfZpe7y8Ks", give me the address and I'll add the data.

Details of my analysis:

Avalon Address receiving Walletbit Payments:
18QRSo26TqPZtH1guLfwNXZ2EfZpe7y8Ks
This address appears to have received a total of 163 Avalon orders, with daily estimates adjusted for historic value.

Note: 3 from the 3rd appear to have been paid for in full on the 18th.  Also, I've ignored all fractional payments and withdrawals, even though some look like refunds...

Other interesting sidenotes...
  • Number of units sold on the 18th of February is almost as much as the number of units sold on all other days combined.
  • Before the 18th, you could not order more than 3 units at once. This restriction appears to have been lifted on the 18th with an order of 5 and 10 units going through on that day
  • Avalon has a no-refund policy, but some withdrawals do appear to be refunds. This data was not counted in my totals.

BTC300

Again, this is a limited time preorder price. I'm also offering an escrow assisted purchase with funds returned if the miner shipment experiences a prolonged delay.
Escrow price with prolonged delay protection: BTC450

Available for local pickup (DFW area) or express shipping once the unit arrives. Ordered and paid for on Feb 10th.

CrazyBlane --> Walletbit

Walletbit --> Avalon

I've done a quick analysis of the address that received my Feb 10th payment and I have a queue estimate of anywhere from 64 to 235 units in front of me.

Details of my analysis:
Avalon Address receiving Walletbit Payments:
18QRSo26TqPZtH1guLfwNXZ2EfZpe7y8Ks

This address received a total of 163 Avalon orders, with daily estimates adjusted for historic value.
I'm not sure if this was the only address receiving Avalon payments from Walletbit, perhaps they sold some to outside parties bypassing walletbit? In any case, Avalon says that they sold 600 units, so I've determined the max units ahead of me by multiplying daily volume by 3.68 (600/163). This is not a scientific calculation, just a guess given the data available in the Avalon receiving address I'm currently aware of.

Daily unit volume at Avalon's payment address:

Anyone have something for sale? Looking for something that uses 50 watts or less when idle.
1378  Economy / Gambling / Re: 280 BTC total bets between Micon and mrb (are BFL ASICs real?) on: April 17, 2013, 07:46:53 AM
We are talking about the power draw of the device, not device + host, as host has nothing to do with the efficiency of the miner. Surely someone will post confirmation of the device plugged directly into a killawatt with the host going to another outlet, or will provide such a video on request.  USB max power is around 2.5 watts, so that's minimal.

Edit-
Measuring at the jack would be more accurate as mrb states, and I'm fine going by those rules as well. Although, I wouldn't want to depend on three customers pulling out their multimeters and posting a video before July 1st. I'm going to agree with Micon that deciding winners will be pretty clear cut, and I trust that he would accept a video of either method proving 150mh/j
1379  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: monitor & marital problems on: April 17, 2013, 04:13:19 AM
well, if you are plugging in the cards w/o the drivers installed from AMD and expecting the monitor to turn on you may be mistaken... also, plugging the monitor in the mobo vga slot with video cards in the pci ports may not work as well, as i had this problem i think w my friends rig.  unplug the cards and get the monitor working like they did in the shop, then upload the latest drivers from AMD to run your 7970's.  Also tell your wife that she can be of help with this as two brains are better than one.  Always take a break, and ground yourself from static before working on the system.  I'm kind of a newbie myself but sometimes the obvious isn't obvious to seasoned miners.  Hope you are hashing away shortly...

Most MB bios have basic vga support through the graphics card in your pciex slot, especially ones that supports 3 cards. In fact, having a graphics card in the pciex slot could possibly be toggling off the MB's onboard gpu. If we are understanding you correctly, and you are going from VGA to your motherboard with your graphics cards in, this is wrong. DVI out from your slot 1 graphics card to the monitor is what you need to be doing.
1380  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: monitor & marital problems on: April 17, 2013, 04:01:56 AM
If you are looking for help here, you will need to provide more information:
  • Does the monitor support DVI input? Display port? HDMI?
  • Motherboard manufacturer and model number
  • PSU(Power Supply Unit) manufacturer and model number

I would recommend avoiding VGA at this point, it's analog and we are in the digital age. From the info you provided, it seems you are trying to use an hdmi-vga converter. This is a bad idea as hdmi does not have analog output ability like DVI. Get a digital cable that your monitor supports and go with that(DVI,HDMI,Display port). If your monitor is ancient and only supports VGA, use the DVI-VGA adapter that came with your cards. If you plan on gaming, 3 way crossfire to a VGA monitor is a waste of power in my opinion. If you plan on mining, you have wasted your money as you will never earn your money back on your investment. I would suggest selling the PSU and 2 of the 3 cards to someone on the forums for bitcoins. BTC is extremely undervalued at this point. $600 in BTC could easily be worth $1200 next month. It's a smarter investment and your wife won't give you that look when it pays off.

If you absolutely must mine at 1.8gh, I suggest you follow this thread and buy 6 when they come out. They will be much easier to setup and maintain and use less power.
