1461  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon DHL question Batch #1 #2 on: March 17, 2013, 08:11:24 AM
Hey! I'm in Brazil but my Avalon is going to U.S....

I put my Brazilian phone number at the Avalon shop and my friend's U.S. address...

Maybe am I going to face problems?

Tks!
Thiago

Yes, your friend is going to be mining with your equipment! Shipping services usually only call if they are delivering something big, I don't think DHL has ever called me before...
1462  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Got offered an Avalon, how much to pay? on: March 17, 2013, 02:17:26 AM
2 blocks is 50. That's pretty impressive, are you strictly solo mining now?
1463  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [AVALON] - I got my ASIC Thread (Batch #2) on: March 16, 2013, 08:51:39 PM
Excuse my ignorance, but how many order numbers were there in batch 1? Do order numbers scale linearly to date of order or date of payment? I could have sworn I saw a message in early March from Avalon stating that all batch 1 orders were shipped.
1464  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [AVALON] - I got my ASIC Thread (Batch #2) on: March 16, 2013, 08:25:05 PM
So what's the latest news? Are all batch 1 units shipped? Has batch 2 started shipping? Anyone in China receive a batch 2 unit yet?
1465  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch#2 Re-open 2/18 on: March 16, 2013, 05:26:36 AM
So did batch #2 start shipping on the 5th? If not, has Avalon revised batch 2 start ship date?

+1 Sothh, excellent buyer. Paid in full beforehand, no issues.
1468  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [SOLD] 2x HIS 7970 on: March 16, 2013, 02:50:58 AM
Got the cards today!  They are amazing.

Just wanted to say, CrazyBlane offered great service.  The cards were packed very nicely, and in good condition.  I would be more than happy to vouch for CrazyBlane.

Same goes for Sothh, excellent trader, enjoy the cards!

Figured that much, and a bad one at that... I warned another user a couple days ago. Anytime a seller quickly accepts a low offer, or responds that an item already sold when asked for pictures, a huge red flag should be raised. A quick look through his posts reveals different sources for the same cards(inability to keep his story straight) and him threatening another user when he became suspicious after he missed a ship date.  Here's to hoping wholesaler doesn't "ninja stealthy" get away with anyone's coins on the forum.

Is that your current rig? Liquid Nitrogen cooled? Overclocking for fun or some kind of contest?
1471  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] High-end Gaming-type Video Cards on: March 14, 2013, 06:58:50 AM
I'd be careful with Wholesaler fellas. He's using escrow through bitmit, but it's possible you may receive a box of bricks with tracking. The origin of his cards seems to be different in multiple posts and the 690 I asked for more pictures of was "sold on craigslist" before he could post any pics. He's already threatened another member after backing out on a 680 deal when he missed the shipping deadline. Wholesaler, it's safe to say you are going to need to ship first to earn trust on the forums...

BBQKorv - OK, I know all machines are good for different things, I am just working with what I've got Smiley

CrazyBlane/Gabi - I think I may well try to hop on the ASIC train... So I am looking at this http://products.butterflylabs.com/60gh-bitcoin-miner.html (I can raise the capital to get one of these) and when I stick all the info into BitCoin mining calculators, e.g. http://www.bitcoinx.com/profit/ I am looking at ~$300/day and therefore break even in 5 days...! WHUT!

Is this realistic at all? Even if break even was 30 days I would still be pretty stoked! Do you think this is a reasonable return for this ASIC? If not, why not?

Thanks for all your help, I would really like to give back to the community, and, you know, make a few BTC on the side Wink
Wait time for an ASIC is 3+ months. By then difficulty will be much higher. Nobody really knows what the network hashrate will be by then but a good guess is 1-1.5 years to make your money back.

I think they work fine with singles, order a BFL jalapeņo and you're set.

It's a bad idea and definitely not worth it. I've read about a few people ruining their MacBooks by mining with them. They are too compact and not meant to be run at high temperatures for long periods of time. you are not going to get a decent hashrate anyways...
1475  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: List of v0.7 pools on 3/11/2013, 3/12/2013 on: March 12, 2013, 06:32:03 AM
What a mess, has the .7 chain caught up yet? I believe it's important for individual miners to take action as well. I mine against 9 pools and have narrowed down to only the ones currently using the .7 client( or the ones I know are using .7)

OP, perhaps you can list confirmed .7 pools and pools still using unpatched .8 in the top post? Pool operators will be forced to switch over when they notice a steep drop in hash rate.

Yep, also, do you mind posting another pic with a picture of your tag near the card. Where are you getting the cards from?
1478  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] GTX 690 on: March 11, 2013, 06:07:19 AM
Yes, but I want to see how your other sales go first. Excuse me for being a little paranoid, I'm in no rush.
1479  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] GTX 690 on: March 11, 2013, 05:22:03 AM
$800?
