These machines have only been running for about 40 days in our farm, Just as I speculated, about long enough for manufacturer to ROI the machine. Nice business model, they basically get paid twice for each machine. Thank you for stating it publicly, now if only you'd price them to reflect their used nature!

Despite the comms error it seems to be hashing along just fine, any clues as to what this new error is?
I left it running all night, and at some point the U3 hashrate dropped off the pool it was pointed at. When I looked at the bfgminer window in the morning the U3 was still running and spitting out those comms errors, several per second every couple seconds. This comms error seems to be the last hurdle in getting the U3 to be happy on this machine. It successfully submits shares even with the errors, but obviously something isn't right still. ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) I only get the comms error on the webisect version of 5.2.0 you posted for me. I just tried the release of 5.2.0 using --scan antminer@0001 in the command line again and it results in the U3 hashing <10GH/s and dropping to 0 over the course of a minute or two. So whatever was changed in the websect version also "fixed" it so my U3 hashes consistantly (although it appears to ignore the freq and volt settings and hashes at stock speed ~40GH/s). Unfortuntelly like I have posted, it spits those comm errors all day and unless I reset it twice a day (unplug/replug USB) then the U3 hash drops from the pool it's pointed at despite appearing to continue to hash along just fine in bfgminer. Once they've sold off enough of those old S5s, they'll announce the newest miner to the public.
You mean once they've ROI'd their new gear (which is much easier/cheaper to do when you're the manufacturer) they will announce and sell that from their data center, too. It's criminal what they all doing with S5 "batch 7"; shame on anyone for buying from them and encouraging this behavior. It's not the price that irks me, but that they insist on calling them "new" and then say some will be dusty and scratched. Well no shit, used gear is dusty and scratched, call it used and sell it used for whatever price you want (your prerogative), but calling it new is foolish. I think we're going to see steady <5% growth for a while to come still.

Monster share: 185,784,071,126
Divided in three would still be good shares....
Followed up by another monster share: 178,272,248,454 Congrats to the solver!

Rank doesn't matter
Bullshit, it totally matters. There's a huge difference between an established member of this forum asking for a HUGE collateral based loan vs. someone who just created an account today. Which do you think would be a more trustworthy person to lend to? But this OP can't be serious (despite his large text and bold font!) to think someone would lend him what amounts to a year's salary in some places.

Looks like the 2.4PH mining to an address is back on the pool. Anyone know if this is a large renter or a small farm?
|
|

Yup. If you rent it's a HUGE risk too..
But if you're really lucky, it can pay off. Congrats to the solver!

selling the "used" s5s at full price is really shady..
It's not shady, it's blatantly deceptive and a lie. Call them used and price them appropriately. I hope no one buys a single one, you'd be an idiot to pay full price for a used item.

Well obviously Kano fixed the pool code, right? ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) Hopefully some/most/all of the hash that came to bust that block stays on this pool. Aannd... It's gone. Any idea why these big fish leave? If they would stay it would be a 5ph or larger pool. We are still over 100% long term and top notch code and service. Just don't see where they can do better, I think anything over 100% luck is best you can do compared to the pools you have to choose from. Unless they usually solo mine, just don't get it. Any insight anyone? I imagine that Kano or ck called in a favor to some big fish or it was just some good Samaritans that felt the need to help the pool bust a block. Whatever the reason, thank you! More than likely rented hash... No, one was Bitclub and they've pointed PH+ here before. I forget the other PH+ player, but I don't thing they were rented, either.

Is anyone really going to be dumb enough to buy used miners at new prices right before new hardware is supposed to come out? I hope they don't sell a single unit of "batch 7". um kano is doing it.. he already released a s3 firmware that makes the cpu down to .5 and a lot more stable i think he is working on s4 now, then on to s5. you should send some btc his way. Kano is doing his own S5 work, he is not doing the NH 4 BTC bounty one linked.

Guys, limit your posts related to Greece crisis, I am seeing 80 percent of the post posted in various threads are only related to Greece, those posts are mixed with few facts and mostly propaganda, Greeks know very well how to handle their crisis and they are talented enough to take care of their own problems.
You realize the irony here, right? That your very post is also about Greece? Where are the facts in your post that you request of others? You mention propaganda, and then the next immediate statement is pro-Greek propaganda. Bad signature campaign troll post is bad.

My biggest mistake was not getting into bitcoin in 2012 when I first heard about it. I didn't start looking into it until the very end of 2014, better late than never I guess.

There is certainly no shortage of stupid people in this world.
To paraphrase George Carlin: think of your average person; by definition, half the people are stupider than that.

a question, I have 4 x s5, yet I could find a block of this pool? ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) You would have 8x the chance of my one S3+ solo mining here for the summer. ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

just found us a block 25 minutes ago ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Oh my god, a 59% block. Surely the pool must be broken!
I wonder about this as well. They would receive a majority of each block reward at this pool, so the payouts would be larger (but less frequent) than if they were at one of the big Chinese pools. I would love to hear from them and know what their strategy is for where to point >1PH. With that much gear running I'm sure they have to maintain a pretty decent amount of btc incoming.

Why don't you use your own service to advertise your service? If you can get top trends on twitter then use that to advertise and you don't even need to post here.

You'd be hard pressed to find anywhere online that will release IP addresses of its users. do we have the right It's an online forum, you don't have any rights. I wanna know if A and B are posting from same class c.
As was already pointed out to you above, knowing IPs does not tell you what you want to know, nor will any forum ever provide you with that information.
