1841  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo Super Middleweight (September 16) on: June 25, 2023, 10:04:11 PM
There is only one thing that can pause Canelo from being aggressive - his wrist isnt healed fully. He did not use his left much in a fight against Ryder. This time, perhaps he is going to give his hand another test before a bigger fight (I hope so). But, like Ive said, Canelo has trapped himself into being one of the beat. No matter who he fights in middleweight, everyone see his opponent as an underdog. That is why he needs to go up in division.

This fight will present another challenge to Canelo's wrist but I'm thinking that he will carry this disadvantage throughout the end of his career because somehow, we can assume that he's already at sundown plus there's a wear and tear that will be a factor in the healing process of Canelo's wrist as he's also aging already.

It could be a big factor as you have said, his wrist might not have been fully healed or they rushed things up so that they can set up a fight with Ryder. Unfortunately, the result is not good for the boxing fans, although Canelo wins.

We all know that Charlo is not a pushover either even if he was inactive for almost two years because during his good years, he was a very impressive boxer in his division.

Yes, but the ring rust though, it's two years plus it is reported that Charlo has a mental problem and that's why he was laying off for a long time. I think it will definitely affect him and then he should also need to get back in shape and add 8 lbs on his frame.

Needless to say, both boxers have their own disadvantages and problems that makes the win quite blurry as of the moment, and I can say that it is going to be a tough fight for both boxers because of that. Moreover, I see no advantage about this fight either except for Canelo's evident factor that he will get some help once the fight goes to the judge's hand mainly if the fight seems too tight.
1842  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 25, 2023, 08:42:44 PM
Am I already seeing ads for a KSI vs Jake Paul fight in October? Has the promotion for the Nate Diaz fight gone so poorly that they’re already moving on to trying to build up the next fight? Feels like the influencer boxing scene is dying rather quickly. Maybe Elon Musk vs Mark Zuckerberg will end up being the last ridiculous fight that marks the shark has been jumped.

I think so too. The Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz fight might be a no go that's why we are now seeing some rumors surfacing about that KSI vs Jake Paul fight as even after promoting the Paul-Diaz fight, there are no signs that people are interested in it. Eddie Hearn even said that it's a no brainer fight as it's clearly a mismatch because it is not the comfort ground of Nate plus Hearn added that the 10-round fight will go as far as four rounds before Nate will be KOd.
1843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: June 25, 2023, 08:18:43 PM
Dana White is certain that he can make it work in the UFC itself, octagon.
I saw a post that Dana said that both are seriously really into it. This is gonna be more hype than anybody's fight and likely will be the fight of the year.

I am not sure while these two are into this. Aren't they just bored and want to do some fight and I think I firstly heard this from Elon but not with Mark.

Anyway, it's interesting on how these two known personalities are gonna have fun while the public looks at them that they're like crazy bored rich folks.

Yes, saw that article as well. Dana White himself even claimed that other than the fact that this fight will turn into reality as both participants are really inclined to fight each other which is something interesting as I think this will be the first time that businessmen are taking their business inside an octagon or ring, it will be a much bigger fight than McGregor vs Mayweather and might be the biggest fight of the century.

Now, the poster has been made already and it will happen inside the octagon and will take place in Las Vegas. The question now is the time and date of this fight.
1844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 25, 2023, 04:33:41 PM
He has already declined an offer and I think if he'll negotiate with that, he have already done but he's probably going somewhere else and that's what his heart is telling him.

But for sure that the Warriors are open for him to comeback and alter his decision about the decline that he has made.
He had a wish and his thoughts were different from everyone's expectations so turning down the offer was his heart's decision.
After all, accepting an offer in a team when he has no intention or compulsorily accepting will also never give good results in the future.
There may be other options but we don't know which one he will choose later.

Yes, the Warriors are always open for him to come back at any time and this is a tough decision whether to return for the Warriors or follow his heart.

But I don't think that the Warriors will give him the same digits though if Draymond Green wishes to come back and wear the same jersey because after all, NBA is a business, and the franchise will always look for an option so that somehow, they can save even a bit from their player's contracts. As of now, there are no speculations about Green's future plans like whether he'll be back or not but I'm thinking that his agent might've talked to some teams already that could give them what they wanted.
1845  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens next if Bitcoin drops to zero? on: June 25, 2023, 06:18:57 AM
No one can predict the future of Bitcoin with certainty. However, the possibility of Bitcoin falling to zero at this point and the next few years is considered very unlikely. Bitcoin has a large market capitalization, and growing popularity, and is supported by a strong network and community. Therefore, given the current popularity and use of Bitcoin, it is likely that its value will increase drastically in the future.
The fact that it's already regulated means it will not easily drop to zero. The good thing about Bitcoin, which ensures its longevity for years to come, is that it's not only a good investment but also relies on supply and demand.

As we can see, it's already accepted in many countries around the world. Of course, there are some countries that have banned Bitcoin, but with more and more people embracing it, we can truly enjoy its purpose. This would result in investors enjoying its benefits as well, since the more they hold, the more the value will increase due to a fixed market supply.
1846  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: June 24, 2023, 01:43:23 PM
Well, Eddie Hearn is a huge boxing fan himself and is probably the biggest promoter right now and is a master in the business with superstars Canelo, AJ, and fighters from other promoters that fight in DAZN except GBP which has its own exclusive contract with the network. His 500k-600k is a good estimate and is already a big success given these economic hard times.

This fight though has real potential of breaking a million PPV buys. I also believe that tickets will be sold out quickly. So far PBC has named Pitbull Cruz battling against Giovanni Cabrera in the undercards probably to get the huge Latino boxing community.

In terms of the live gate's tickets, there is no question at all that it will be sold out quickly just like what Garcia vs Davis fight did or pretty much faster than that because we have to include the fact that there will be some businessmen who are having some business in gaining these tickets as fast as possible so that they can sell it in a much higher price. But when it comes to PPV buys, I doubt that they can break a million of it because the world is getting modern each day and big fights like this are almost shown for free in some sources like Facebook live or even YouTube because they are seeking the viewers as well in-exchange for some voluntary amounts to watch the fight live.

As far as Eddie Hearn, he says that PBC, Top Rank and Golden Boy doesn't want him promoting in the US.

As for the PPV buys, I do agree, I don't see the fight getting or breaking the 1 million PPV buys, not a hater but they will be lucky to get 500,000 PPV. Still the king of PPV for this year is Ryan Garcia vs Tank Davis.

Live gates must be different though, it could be sold out by now and only premium tickets might be available.

Were we expecting the Garcia vs. Davis fight to reach at least 1 million PPV buys? I believe the expectation was around 500k, give or take. Therefore, I think the Spence and Crawford fight is somewhat undervalued. It's possible that we might be surprised if they surpass the 1.2 million PPV buys of the Garcia vs. Davis fight.

I bet they only had some speculations about what would be the PPV buys but I'm somehow confident that they aren't expecting any actual range as they also knew the factors surrounding it.

What they did was they rented a much bigger venue which was the T-Mobile Arena to ensure that they could take advantage of the fact while the fight was anticipated by many and bring a much bigger profits to their pockets.
1847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo Super Middleweight (September 16) on: June 24, 2023, 10:38:40 AM
That is not the fight boxing fans expect, that is the fight Canelo fans expect. They dont care who his opponent is, all they care is another +1 in his record. I highly doubt that Charlo has been training secretly for last two years and invented a new hidden punch. Canelo needs this fight to have a dominating win after a loss to Bivol. He tried to recover reputation with Ryder, but he gave him a proper fight.

If this fight happens like 3 years ago, then maybe Charlo have a chance, but it's slim with his version though. He might be doing some light trainings during the time that he is out, but I guess it's not enough to beat a version of Canelo, although we have seen Canelo declining like in the Ryder right.

Charlo though is the real winner because Canelo chooses PBC now, imagine being inactive but then again, since he was maybe a favorite of Al Haymon, he was given a chance to fight the cash cow, so money for him is on the table and maybe if he lost here, then go back to his semi retirement.

I guess both boxers don't have anything to lose especially Canelo as it will be not his first time to lose in a fight but it's kind of questionable if it will happen because the fight will be contested at super-middle where he practically owns the division. While Charlo here, don't know what's up with him for choosing Canelo in his return, but just like Canelo, he doesn't have anything to lose because his days are considered over already as two years is quite a long time.
1848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: June 23, 2023, 05:36:19 PM
Let's go for ELON.

Why ELON ? because we are going to all-in on the bulk ~XD Just joking, but hoping these are happening. Mark need a lot progress, especially to gain more weigh if there has some plan event fighting in the cage ~XD

But, I know is only a joke.

We never know for sure because at first, I didn't even expect that these two will actually call for a fight after having a few back-and-forth statements on social media. Point is, let's expect the unexpected because it's a win-win situation for us Grin

Anyway, at least Elon Musk seems serious about their upcoming fight with Mark Zuckerberg and even called for Joe Rogan.

1849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Joshua Franco vs Kazuto Ioka WBA World Superfly (June 24) on: June 23, 2023, 04:10:44 PM
Personally, i changed my mind and will now bet for the Japanese as the percentage of him winning got higher with this news of Franco not making the weight.

What would be the penalty for him not making weight? Can he still make the fight happen? I was thinking if a boxer does not make it to the weigh-in, that would result in disqualification. Maybe my knowledge is not correct.

Depends on the situation because there are some cases that a boxer will be given at least a few couple of hours to finalize their weight and eventually, they are able sunk their body according to the needed weight and will able to continue the fight.

But in some cases, boxer's aren't given the same chance and will just have to fight each other for the sake of their fan bases that paid to watch them especially if they were the finale. Just like what happened to Shakur Stevenson before he climbed the next weight class.
1850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 23, 2023, 03:50:34 PM
Not really surprised that Smart was the first one to be traded since he's the most expendable of the trio but never imagined KP to be there. He'll have less playing time for sure unless he'll be their main center which I doubt. I think Celtics is taking too much risk by changing a lot of the team dynamics.

Of course, KP will be the main center. He is still a big star and a huge problem for its rival teams. Personally, I am liking the big shake-up the Celtics are doing. Over the years they really have the real potential of becoming champions but they only made it into the finals once. KP might change the usual Celtics plays but the center can provide a big boost of offense, especially during the times when Tatum and Brown turn cold. And it is time for a change after its failed 2022-23 season.

The Celtics are still looking very strong provided they can stay healthy next season. Horford is an important piece but he is aging and the team will limit his minutes but he will be utilized during the playoffs.

Yes, KP will get the same role and it is very reason why the Celtics get him and sacrificed Marcus Smart. We know neither of the present roster right now is much more capable to protect the rim other than KP, Williams III is not that dominant and especially not Al Horford either. So, with these new changes, the Celtics are looking forward to make some difference again by changing the line-up they had.

Don't be too sensitive, mate. This is a forum where members are anonymous, so you don't know them and they don't know you personally. It's true that there are rude individuals, but as long as they don't violate the forum rules, they will likely remain in the forum. So, it's best to get accustomed to encountering such people from time to time.

Here's a simple tip: take what is helpful and disregard what is not.

Lastly, put them on "ignore".
1852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HODL or not? BTC investors need to rethink their strategy as on: June 23, 2023, 11:50:09 AM
We've seen a lot of pump and dump movements in the past, and what we are witnessing now is just normal. Personally, when I see Bitcoin dump, it doesn't make me panic; in fact, I appreciate it because I know it will bounce back. The more I see these dips, the more I convince myself that the bull run is imminent.

In my opinion, we have already experienced a bear market with a long correction, and now Bitcoin is ready to achieve its all-time high (ATH).

So, keep HOLDING, as that's the easiest recipe for success
1853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Casinos Go Bankrupt Because of Player Wins? on: June 22, 2023, 11:17:33 AM
Is it possible for a casino to go bankrupt because a player gets a very big win?

I think maybe that's hard to happen if we look at casinos that are already big and well known. But suppose there is a new casino, and there are some players who are very good at playing, so they can win continuously, can the casino go bankrupt? or do they already have an algorithm or a way so players can't keep winning?

Never assume that a casino will go bankrupt due to players' big wins, as they are aware of their significant advantage over gamblers before they begin operating. Casinos have limits in place, even if a gambler is highly skilled, to prevent them from causing financial harm. In extreme cases, a casino may even ban a player.

Most instances of casino bankruptcy occur due to internal management issues and regulatory problems.
1854  Economy / Economics / Re: How do banks generate income? on: June 22, 2023, 10:38:16 AM
Try to investigate this online and you will be surprised by the bank frauds you would realize.

Can you cite an example of other banks regarding your accusation of illegal practices in banks? It would be better if you could provide evidence yourself to support your statement instead of suggesting that we search for bank frauds.

Mind you, you forgot to add that;

1. They launder money.
2. They broker onshore and offshore deals (both legally and illegally).
3. They steal money from customers' accounts through double and unexplainable charges.
4. They blackmail their customers and steal the money of the faint in heart.
    And many more...

I'm referring to this accusations.

Quote
3. They steal money from customers' accounts through double and unexplainable charges.

This one alone is impossible as bank account holders are not stupid, they would know if there are unauthorized transactions charge to their bank accounts.
1855  Economy / Economics / Re: How do banks generate income? on: June 21, 2023, 09:54:21 AM
Bank is an establishment known for financial services but what they do these days is way more than that. And the things they do are both legal and illegal, still, they cover up under the guise of the legality that covers the sector.

Mind you, you forgot to add that;

1. They launder money.
2. They broker onshore and offshore deals (both legally and illegally).

4. They blackmail their customers and steal the money of the faint in heart.
    And many more...

There is a lot that will always make me sceptical of banks.
This is not true. It's a serious accusation you've made here. I was once a bank employee in my life, and I know that bank is not involved in the illegal activities you mentioned. Do you think the regulators of the bank, particularly the central bank, would tolerate this? They would not, and if they discover any serious violations, they would promptly close the bank. Banks that deceive their customers have no right to operate a business built on trust.

As we know that banks are a business that promises big profits, banks collect money from consumers from savings to deposits, when banks get customers who want to save in the form of deposits, banks can freely rotate money, they give low interest to customers and apply interest high at least 2x so that banks get a lot of profit.

So how do banks promises big profits?
1856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching Bitcoin is not do or die on: June 21, 2023, 07:42:50 AM
Investing in bitcoin carries inherent risks, so why would we compel anyone to invest in it?

Although we believe that bitcoin has the potential for future growth and can be profitable to invest in, we cannot guarantee it. Bitcoin is considered a high-risk asset, which explains why a majority of investors may choose not to invest in it. In fact, our goal is not to have everyone invest in bitcoin, but rather to encourage its use for daily transactions. This would increase the demand for bitcoin and reduce the supply through holding, which is the recipe for profitability based on the supply and demand factor.
1857  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If my annualized return is above 50%, am I doing well? on: June 20, 2023, 11:24:05 AM
You are doing well as long as you make yourself profitable. That would already indicate that you are doing well. Not everyone makes money in the crypto world, so you are lucky to earn consistently on a yearly basis. If you are not yet satisfied with your profit, then you might as well increase your capital. Even if you only make a 50% return yearly, that would already result in a satisfactory profit.
1858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 19, 2023, 08:31:40 PM
It just happens that Donaire is gifted with vicious power and that will stay for a lifetime. Although he still needs good reflexes, speed, and timing in order to hit his target. So as long as Donaire can land his bombs inside 12 rounds then his chances of winning remain alive in every fight. Even the great Inoue was badly hurt and shaken. And it leads to the conclusion that if that was a prime Donaire it would've ended Inoue because the speed and stamina are still there to follow up and the Japanese will never recover.
The problem is, Nonito Donaire was much older when he fought Inoue for the 2nd time that's why the difference were so vast and clear that even made the fight end in just mere two rounds leaving the public in surprise, including me because I thought Donaire can somehow make a difference but unfortunately, even Donaire himself was shocked by what happened as he truly did not expect that Inoue will evolve like that since their first encounter.

Quote
I cannot remember the exact WBC rankings but I believe Santiago is ranked high since he got the chance to fight for the vacant belt? As far as I remember, #1 Moloney went the WBO route, #2 is Donaire, and #3 had a fight schedule last February which made him not available since the mandatory was issued that same month. I think it was Gaballo at #4 or #5. Santiago should be right there.
Not really the case for Santiago since he is not from the Top 5 and IIRC, he's not even in the Top 10. It's just that Donaire was desperate enough to find himself a foe to make the fight happen while increasing his chance to be a champion once more by picking a boxer outside the Top 10.
1859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 19, 2023, 08:08:27 PM
many folks have said that he (Jokic) brought the playing style of Europe towards the NBA.
And the truth is that from other region are the ones that's dominating the NBA on its own land.
When I saw one article about how the Miami Heat was defeated twice by a European, it made me smile. Dirk Nowitzki and Nikola Jokic. Truly, the NBA today is changing, thanks to the Europeans that had been coming into the league. Who knows, maybe Doncic is next. Another player who plays differently from other players. No such thing as the "hops" or "speed" but he can definitely score inside by only using his brain and his strong body. Vice versa of Ja Morant who is relying upon his speed and hops.

Nikola Jokic changed the way we look at NBA and especially at the younger players who never saw how Magic, Bill, and Larry did it. It's almost like this, the Joker revived a strong big man, not like a "Shaq" big man but more of a versatile big man. And, I have no doubts Jokic will keep on passing more records from way back some of us were born.
It just seems that the NBA isn't marketing Jokic for some reason but it's good that these Europeans have made a lot of changes to NBA's basketball.
Whilst those teams aren't focused on having a big man that can do almost everything, shoot outside, assist, get free-throw shooting, rebounds. Almost everything.
The Nuggets is so blessed to have Joker and they've managed to take care of him until they've finally got their first ever NBA title.
The same with what Dallas Mavericks did for Dirk Nowitzki, they didn't let him go, took care of him, and somehow managed to get a championship with him. I love teams that do this, just being patient and waiting for the right time with one loyal player. I wish the Denver Nuggets will do the same thing for the Joker, become the face of their franchise, and better a duo that will bring them another championship with Jamal Murray.

We can say it is really their time now. From being defeated in the bubble, to Murray being injured and Nikola Jokic shouldering everything yet he still made it to the playoffs without his co-stars. Jamal Murray is the key to their win, he said it and then he did it. He actually knows they will make it this time with his healthy body and then Michael Porter Jr. is also at the prime of his career.
The addition of Aaron Gordon is a big one instead of Gary Harris, they now have an elite defender who could stop superstars like KD, Lebron, and Butler.

Hopefully that will be the case and that they will really take care of what they have right now because it's not every time they can land someone like Murray especially Jokic who can make any team suffer without meaning it, but who knows, there might be a time that both franchise and player will have some misunderstanding on their contract. But looking at it right now, I think it's still safe that Jokic will remain a Nuggets for a couple more years.

Yes, it will be safe to say that Nikola Jokic will remain and play for the franchise for long because if his current contract will end and other teams will start pushing for a price just to get him, the Nuggets will always lead when it comes to figures so that they can still be with Jokic and build another team around him if it's needed in the few years to come. But right now, for at least 2-3 years, I'm pretty much inclined that they can still dominate the league while having the same roster as long as they will remain healthy and agile.

I agree with that as well, most teams in the league will certainly have a hard time penetrating though the Nuggets and get a win at the end of the day because they are now much experienced and can keep up with almost all of the teams in the league even if they build another superteam just to get rid the Nuggets and give themselves a lot more chances to win next season.

And just like what the Phoenix Suns just did, they now have Bradley Beal in their roster in-exchange for CP3 and few other picks. But I truly wonder if this team will have any difference and can create themselves an opening to arrive in the Finals next season.
1860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: June 19, 2023, 07:54:32 PM
Finally, the fight every boxing fan has been waiting for is now sealed. I guess this is already 99% happening. Odds are already released as well.

Yes, the fight is official sealed by both parties, odds are showing that Spence is the underdog.

Still, I think Crawford is winning this match. As a matter of fact, to be quite frank, although this is a battle of undefeated fighters, I don't see this as a 50:50 match. I agree with the odds. Spence deserves to be the underdog. The last time he fought was more than a year ago. And then he had no fight in the whole of 2021. In his last few fights, he only had a UD against the two Garcias, Danny and Mikey, and only a split against Porter, who Crawford knocked out.

I think one of Crawford's advantage here is that he can adjust on the fly, he can fight both lefty and orthodox and majority of his fights are won because of that as his opponents can't adjust to this style. And then his sharp shooting, he has a knockout power and he hasn't been chin tested in his career. As compare to Spence who almost goes down against Ugas. And if Crawford lands that left hand, we will see if Spence can hold or will simply go down because of the power. And yeah, he fought more than a year ago so ring rust might be a factor too.

Even here in the forum, a lot of users are rooting for Crawford to win. Well, this is a good challenge for Spence.
As he knows that he's the underdog on this fight, he has strong motivation to seriously prepare for this fight.
This fight is a lucrative one for both boxers, and they will be earning good money no matter what.
The OP can edit the date to July 29 though, happening in Las Vegas, Nevada.

https://www.mmafighting.com/2023/5/25/23737604/terence-crawford-vs-errol-spence-jr-finally-official-for-blockbuster-july-29-fight
Well finally one of the things that I had published occurred in my articles, I remember that there was a lot of controversy, because many said that it was a fake article, but I like that this type of fight occurs, however I am one of those who will undoubtedly bet against Spence, Spence finally remembered that boxers should not be afraid of rematches, that things here should Always be done as they are, because otherwise , it is easy for him to retire from being boxers and give way to those Boxers who if they want to give everything for the Sport and move Forward.

What rematch are you talking about mate? This will be Spence and Crawford's first encounter in the ring, either professionally or not. These two haven't met each other's destiny yet as this is the very first time they will fight after all the months of dancing back and forth. But yes, it's really hard to bet against Crawford because even if Spence is a lot more active or haven't been inactive, it's still clear that Crawford is more dominant in boxing against any boxer in the welterweight now. Although I'm seeing that this will be a very close fight.
