Bitcoin is over 15 years old.

ConspiracyMonger.

Well, in a way Bitcoin is over 15 years old if you consider the building blocks of bitcoin like Hashcash and Wei Dai's original concept.
1842  Other / Off-topic / Re: How vaccines cause autism. on: June 27, 2014, 04:30:24 PM
I think they do cause autism.
And even if they don't, they are poison anyway, so I'm not going to take them.

You're crazy. You can't actually be serious can you?

I assume you were immunized as a child. But are you saying that if you had kids(do you?) you wouldn't get them their shots?
1843  Other / Off-topic / Re: FIFA World Cup 2014!!! on: June 27, 2014, 03:57:58 PM
LOL, suarez banned 4 months from football activity (poor liverpool) and can't play for uruguay in next 9 international matches (bye bye world cup for suarez)
maybe The Walking Dead producers should cast him for zombie roles Tongue

What does everyone think about the ban?

Too long? Too short? Just right? Tongue

Personally I think it's good. I can not stand the fact that this idiot is running around the pitch BITING people. I mean, seriously!
1844  Other / Off-topic / Re: PC Gaming Thread on: June 27, 2014, 03:56:18 PM
I bought Skyrim for $4.99 (with bitcoin too Tongue) from the Steam summer sale! Woohoo!

When I get time to play it I'll be happy. Not sure when that will be, but at least I got it cheap and it's waiting for me. Tongue

So here's how the new wallet going to look. Just unzip the files into new folder so you can take look what has been done with the wallet.

http://minerals.pro/Minerals_beta.zip

Its a work in progress. Mike (the other guy who's developing Minerals with me) needs some rest now so I'm just showing what we've got for the moment. We are aware of some bugs there, but I hope you could find some too, so Mike will deal with em

I am still working on betting service (this is why Nova holding position until something useful comes up). I feel like tomorrow we could release betting page for the test.

Stay tuned!

Good work.

Thanks for the update. It looks like you guys are working hard and we appreciate you posting here to keep us in the loop.

1846  Economy / Services / Re: Get paid for your signature from FXOpen. Weekly payouts. on: June 26, 2014, 07:54:48 PM
anybody seen that? Forex and Metals are now tradable on crypto account. What would the leverage be? 3, too? doesn't make sense in Forex.

Oh, really? Nice. I've been waiting for that.

I haven't logged in to MT4 in a few days since all I'm doing at the moment is shorting LTC Tongue

the pairs have been there the whole time, but were not tradble....now they are active...havent opened a position yet, though
I too have waited for trading forex with cripto-account ever since i learned about BTC. very exited

Yeah, I've noticed that before they changed it they had everything listed, but when I mouseover the pairs it says "No" as in I can't trade those pairs on this account.

Being able to take short positions on an account denominated in BTC is great.

You sure that's not a btce address? that's much more likely than for it to belong to an individual I think.

Perhaps the hacker moved the robbed coins to an exchange.

That sounds like the most likely scenario I think.

Now if we can find out what exchange(if any, but definitely possible) they went to and we might have a chance of getting somewhere if OP can prove the funds were originally his somehow. That's assuming the exchange is willing to cooperate. Which is also pretty unlikely I guess. Although an exchange with that many LTC might be BTC-e, so they should cooperate considering the funds were stolen from BTC-e.

Only problem is BTC-e has done nothing so far which is worrying.

Because of the ability to run code inside the blockchain your business can be completely trustless.
You basically need to come up with a contract structure and it becomes law.
You can not cheat it.

all the payments can be made to be automated including the shares payout for stakeholders/investors. I'm a bit busy at the moment so I have no time to go in to much detail now but will be happy to discuss it here or over pm.

Eth is designed specifically to do what you want

If ethereum is going to do all that perhaps he can just build his idea within ethereum?

Yes, I would if there is such advantages. But as long as eth is not up and running, I'll work on the Bitcoin way to do that.
I'll educate myself better on the subject, but to my knoweledge eth is always in development.
Seeing the size of their team, also mean that the shipping date will be impacted. Meanwhile I continue the Bitcoin way.

The most important thing right is now anyway is like you said: figuring out the optimal strategy so that the incentives line up. getting the game theory right is the key.

Hello fellow forum users and crypto enthusiasts,

It has been 22 days since it all happened and there are still no hints how such thing happened. No answers from BTC-e either, which is very sad. I have been checking LiteCoin Explorer everyday since that, and finally there has been a movement. About 10 different transactions which lead to the final account (address LSR8cnJuC6TQeuUdzuV3Uci5FqvRSXtZPw). Whether anyone should be interested, you can track the coin movement from the first address from here http://ltc.blockr.io/address/info/LYLBrbV1AiZGCyLDGw5DhqxAgBMuh2VvaU to the last address here http://ltc.blockr.io/address/info/LSR8cnJuC6TQeuUdzuV3Uci5FqvRSXtZPw

Best regards,
Squige

No help from BTC-e at all?

That is worrying.

Here's hoping something comes up.

1853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has the coming of Bitcoin started a 'Golden Age' of black hat hacking? on: June 23, 2014, 11:46:24 AM
I think Bitcoin does not start the Golden Age, Hackers are already raking billions before bitcoin was invented through carding, extortion, botnets clicking ads, Identity theft. Before bitcoin was invented they are using liberty reserve.

Yeah, I've read a book about that named Kingpin. Pretty interesting book. But in that book it seemed hackers were making their money by selling databases full of info to the real carders who would take that info and turn it in to the big money.
1854  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Has the coming of Bitcoin started a 'Golden Age' of black hat hacking? on: June 23, 2014, 11:05:50 AM
With all the hacks over the years I'm wondering how the black hat community thinks about this era with regards to the amount of money that's available for the taking without consequence.

I would imagine it's been a boon to the scene since I can't really imagine a better way for hackers to gain immediate results from their skills. Before I suspect a lot of those black hats dealt mostly in selling information and access to resources such as botnets, but now they can just directly steal value from their targets.

Bitcoin is the perfect incentive for black hats and hopefully and one point we might see some resistance from white hats attempting to protect the community by helping to secure bitcoin businesses before they're hacked. But until that happens we'll probably continue to see sites fall prey to hackers.
1855  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GATHERING] Bitmark on: June 23, 2014, 08:44:36 AM
I like Bitmark. Solid name.

BTM sounds good to me too. I hadn't heard bitcoin ATMs referred to as BTMs before. Not sure if this is a trend or not, but I do like the sound of BTM.
1856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why didn't people make a big deal about mining pools at ~33%? on: June 22, 2014, 04:02:47 PM
do agree OP. trustless means trustless even if the people are to lazy to run a full node with p2pool.

the issue with concentrate mining power is still existent. it has to be solved and not with just an appeal to the miners. it has to be fixed within the code.

The community has to make the push and let the dev team know how important it is to them. A lot of people do care, but I fear that it's not close to enough.
1857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GATHERING] define on: June 22, 2014, 04:00:40 PM
Start using Bitcoin instead of dreaming of getting rich and making something "new".

Clearly you've come to the wrong thread. If you have been following coinsolidation's ideas at all you would know that this is not about that at all.
1858  Economy / Economics / Re: The Open Business on: June 22, 2014, 03:57:20 PM

One potential solution is what I talk about when I say "trusted founder, backed by investors".
A key would be given to other founders, whcih has been trusted in the past for other businesses performance.
Such performance is easy to prove (founder owns PaymentKeys of other business), and can't be faked.

That's an interesting idea. Established founders who have already built trust can be used in a sort of "overseer" role. They could collect a fee and build their reputation while protecting the investors.
1859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I converted all my bitcoins to litecoins on: June 22, 2014, 09:55:30 AM
If you are considering a safe haven, NXT requires a 91% attack. It is proof of stake though. Very interesting concept. In other words, someone would have to own 91% of all NXT coins in order to pull off an attack. It has risen from a market cap of 21 BTC to over 100,000 BTC since November 2013.

Yeah, in general NXT seems pretty good and very much under appreciated by the community at large. I don't own any but the only real criticism I see from people is them being angry that they didn't buy any at the IPO and calling it unfair because they didn't risk any of their own money on a new technology. Which of course is not a valid criticism.
1860  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Karpeles back to living large in one of the most expensive apartments in Tokyo on: June 22, 2014, 09:47:44 AM
At least he was intelligent enough to run his scam operation in a country where he can screw all of you and get away with it unlike that idiot Trendon Shavers. If pirate had half a brain he would have taken all the Bitcoins and run to Panama.

Trendon did kind of get away with it.

He got away with the crime not the money. That fat latte bellied hello kitty loving fucktard Karpeles got away with both.

Yeah, I don't know if you all had seen the recent revelations from the SEC but Trendon actually managed to be a massive failure at being a thief. He should have had control on 200,000 btc after people withdrew 500k from the ponzi, but he only ended up cashing out ~150k usd, Meaning he lost so much day trading and through other means that he only managed to get out 75 cents per bitcoin. Which is laughable really.
