Is the Earth DISINTEGRATING? Massive hole opens up in Earth's ozone layer! Roll Eyes

This is the sort of lunacy that results when people who know nothing about science try to report on it. The corona is a layer of the sun's atmosphere. The corona is not the sun itself. Any idiot with a dictionary should be able to figure that one out. Though to be fair, it's clear from declining editorial standards that nobody involved in news publication actually owns a dictionary (the Inquisitr article even somehow managed to misspell "corona" as "cornea").
1862  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The American Jeehad on: June 11, 2016, 06:32:59 AM
I just tried to watch Richmond speech from trump (https://youtu.be/6vObxYvnFyY @57:46) and in another version too... The speech is censored (buffering like mad, it's not a glitch it's intentional).
Quoted for posterity. Just out of curiosity, do you have any theories as to why the alleged censors are so impotent they can't just remove the video completely, and the worst they can do is delay it for a few seconds? Roll Eyes Seriously, if this is what "jeehad" looks like, I don't think there's any danger.
1863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: AES-256 Encryption Possibly Now Broken After New Method To Speedily Factor Integ on: June 09, 2016, 12:51:39 PM
Obviously fake article. Besides the obvious bullshit (what has factoring integers got to do with AES? or Fibonacci sequences to do with anything related to cryptography?) and the fact that it's only being published on tinfoil-hat conspiracy sites, the article specifically cites a press release from the University of Toronto as its source, which is trivially easy to verify. The University of Toronto has issued no such press release. And if the press release is a fabrication, so is the whole story, since there's literally nothing else backing it.

It's embarrassing that people actually fall for these hoaxes.
1864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Quantum computer on: June 05, 2016, 01:13:32 PM
Correct, such a change does require a hard fork.
Wait, what? The only change is that ECDSA needs to be replaced with something quantum-resistant, and I thought that new signature algorithms were a soft fork? (And that SegWit makes such updates easier, but that's another topic.)
1865  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prepare for huge panic. on: June 04, 2016, 01:38:37 PM
why is this guy full of it?
Because he possesses both the inexplicable ability to see the future and the irrepressible urge to state the opposite of what he sees. The source of kwukduck's unique gift is truly a mystery for the ages, and all us mortals can do is be grateful for his inspired anti-guidance.

Dare not write him off as troll, as a stopped clock is right twice a day, but kwukduck never is. Behold, the Opposite Oracle has spoken.
1866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is Satoshi Nakamoto on: June 04, 2016, 03:23:25 AM
Its just a script written in fortran.  I wouldn't worry too much about it.
That's what they want you to think. (They're too embarrassed to admit it was COBOL.)
1867  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is it about Theists needing to say Atheist has a god? on: June 03, 2016, 10:51:39 AM
And what's he selling?
He's selling Christianity. Badly.

He trying to sell the idea that atheism = theism, which is of course, absurd.
It's not absurd at all. Stop thinking like a reasonable person and start thinking like a preacher. If you can convince people that atheists don't really exist and that anyone who claims to be one is a liar and not to be trusted, they'll be less likely to leave your church. The truth or even logical consistency of your arguments is irrelevant to your goal.

But BADecker's no preacher (or if he is, he's one of the worst I've seen). A preacher knows he can't convert an atheist by calling him a liar to his face, and employs somewhat less stupid arguments. But the brainwashed masses don't know that. They just repeat the same lines they heard in church then wonder why nobody takes them seriously.
1868  Economy / Economics / Re: How does Bitcoin Point-Of-Sale work? - for novices on: June 03, 2016, 04:11:49 AM
So services such as Coinbase and BitPay are in case where [my] customer already owns Bitcoin and wants to purchase my product via Bitcoin - correct?
Correct.
1869  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is it about Theists needing to say Atheist has a god? on: June 03, 2016, 04:06:04 AM
Atheists know God exists because they can see Him in the machinery of nature, because science tells them so, because they feel Him in their hearts. Then they attempt to believe He doesn't exist. Doesn't make a lick of sense.
You're wrong. I can't see Him in the machinery of nature, science tells me not, and I don't feel Him in my heart. Believing He doesn't exist requires no concerted attempt on my part. Why would you even presume to know what other people can see and feel? Doesn't make a lick of sense.
1870  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is it about Theists needing to say Atheist has a god? on: June 02, 2016, 07:57:20 AM
It's because they've been brainwashed into believing that all atheists are sinners, thieves, adulterers, rapists, or worse. They are literally incapable of imagining a person being good with God. Therefore anyone who claims to be an atheist but is actually a good person must clearly be lying or deluded. No other explanation will satisfy those trapped in this way of thinking.

Religious leaders perform this brainwashing because the very idea that morality can come from somewhere other than religion is a threat to their business. People would leave religion in droves if they found out the truth.
1871  Economy / Economics / Re: How does Bitcoin Point-Of-Sale work? - for novices on: June 02, 2016, 06:51:00 AM
I started a small business with a retail location and would like to accept Bitcoin for purchases (via customer credit card).
That question doesn't make sense. Bitcoin and credit cards are entirely separate things. It's like asking how to accept cash or gold for purchases (via customer credit card). Do you mean you wish customers to continue paying by credit card, but have the funds converted to Bitcoin instead of deposited into your bank account? No such service currently exists (and probably won't ever due to chargeback fraud), though if one did accepting credit card payments though it would be no different from any other payment processor. Banks would necessarily still be involved, since you can't have credit card transactions without them.
1872  Economy / Speculation / Re: [POLL]New ATH? on: May 30, 2016, 09:07:20 AM
Very probably. Expect US$3,000 at least, possibly much higher.
1873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Receiving payment? on: May 28, 2016, 06:47:08 AM
1) Yes. Just be patient and wait for it to finish.
2) No.
3) No.
1874  Other / Off-topic / Re: Submit your multiple-choice trivialities. on: May 26, 2016, 05:19:24 PM
If you randomly guess the answer to this question, what is the probability that you would be correct?

a) 25%
b) 33%
c) 50%
d) 25%
1875  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Forget trans bathrooms! Now you can choose to be a dog on: May 26, 2016, 04:13:15 AM
Why is it always the dude making these crazy shifts most of the time, are women making men go bonkers or is it that the women are just behind on this trend? If its the latter we have not seen anything yet!
Well, women have to keep this sort of thing on the down-low due the outrageous double standard that exists. If a woman walks a man on a leash in public, nobody bats an eyelid, but if a man walks a woman on a leash, people get all offended for some reason and even get physically violent. I am deeply disappointed that this sort of sexism can exist in a modern society. Cry
1876  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why is this transaction taking soooooo long to be confirmed? on: May 25, 2016, 10:56:50 AM
There's nothing unusual about that delay. A fee that low (BTC0.00022883/kB) normally takes a couple of hours. What software or service did you use to create that transaction?
1877  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: No confirmation since 26 hours. on: May 20, 2016, 02:41:26 PM
It won't confirm because it is dependant on a long chain of unconfirmed transactions, starting with this one which pays an extremely low fee (BTC0.00001857/kB) and will therefore take forever to confirm, and none of its child transactions can confirm until it does. Whatever software or service you used to create your transaction is defective.
1878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Why do I not see any entry in the "Transactions" tab of bitcoin-qt? on: May 20, 2016, 06:56:40 AM
Are only my own transactions shown?
Bingo.
1879  Other / Meta / Re: Are you happy with the Bitcointalk administration/moderation? on: May 19, 2016, 05:04:26 PM
Some say the moderators on this forum go too far. I disagree. I say they don't go too far enough.
1880  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Black Satanist Running for Senate in California on: May 17, 2016, 07:23:51 AM
about satanists, they have some "house" and places where they meet.
You mean the Black House? That was just Anton LaVey's home, and was so called because, in keeping with Satanic aesthetics, he painted it black. It was occasionally used for meetings, but only in the same way that the leader of any other organisation would sometimes hold meetings in his/her home. It didn't have really have any more significance than that and was eventually demolished after LaVey's death.

Individuality doesn't mean peace or love. Individuality it makes you bad, full of hate, hedonist, jealous, greedy and so on..
Individuality means being able to think for yourself and make your own decisions in life. I'd say it's a shame not everyone has this ability, but if you really think you'd be evil and hateful if left to your own devices, perhaps we're all better off if you don't.

I've linked that site to show how stupid they are..
I'm sorry you failed so miserably, then.

About Trinity is very simple..but you must read and learn.
I can read it, I just don't understand it. Here in the real world equivalence is transitive. That means if two things are the same as a third thing, the two things must be the same as each other. If A = B, and B = C, then A = C. Yet the doctrine of the Trinity requires that this not be true. How can God be the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit if the Father is not the Son and not the Holy Spirit? Explain how that works without calling it a "divine mystery". Mystery is the opposite of explanation, and doctrine must be explained if it is to be taken seriously.

sometime we are acting like animals not because we are animals just because some of us  have no God.
If you think that, you may be interested to learn how Anton LaVey came to conclude that humans are animals and God doesn't help. A musician by profession, he played the organ at both a church and a brothel, and saw the same men in both places. The hypocrisy of not just Christianity, but all spiritual religions, denying humans their true nature is what ultimately led him to found a religion based on carnality.
