1861  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Having loss is part of experience as a Trader on: August 23, 2020, 02:09:18 PM
Most traders catch themselves making this one little mistake. They think that any loss is unacceptable so they don't sell at a small loss and wait hoping the market will reverse and they're at least able to break even. In the end they need money and after months of waiting take a big loss.

You either are a trader and exit fast or you're ready to go all the way and don't worry whatever the market becomes.
1862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain solution for Pension system of Primary school teachers of Bangladesh on: August 23, 2020, 02:04:18 PM
There is evidence of blockchain technology being explored by the various institutions without considering the token or any utility. Just a few weeks ago, One of the foremost bank here in my country hosted a webinar on blockchain and artificial intelligence. they discussed extensively on these two areas without mentioning the token aspect. If the blockchain technology will be more transparent to the pension system of the teachers in Bangladesh, fine but what makes you think they will consider the blockchain token as part of the utility?

They like to add some information about blockchain to make the title look catchy and their presentations more sophisticated. Government speakers all over the world are doing it even when there's no chance of this technology being used by their country. Reminds me of those years of FUD when Russian government was supposed to do this or that with blockchain.

Bangladesh is such a poor country that it's safe to assume most of the world will use blockchain before them. I'd rather focus on what the Indian government does.
1863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe in crypto ratings? on: August 22, 2020, 10:34:33 PM
I never watch ratings and statistics. They aren't very important in my opinion.

What matters is your own research and what the coin has to offer. Like if you compare the market cap of XRP to ETH they are very close to each other but XRP is a worthless centralized shitcoin made only to make its creators richer.

Numbers will be numbers Wink
1864  Economy / Economics / Re: Bangladesh Government Comparing Gaming with Gambling and Cryptocurrency on: August 22, 2020, 10:06:54 PM
Games are created with the intention of making people get addicted to it then only they can make money out of it and most of the modern day games are making profits from in app purchases which maybe against in some country that is why they banned gaming along with gambling.Pick the leader who is enough to understand what it is really meant for if you want to enjoy it.

It should be the choice of the user if he wants to get addicted to a game or not. Subscription-based games like WoW or Eve can be addictive but they can also be the source of entertainment and even allow people to meet new friends and build relations.

You can never stop people from becoming addicts. If they won't fall victim to computer games, casinos, oinline trading, they will become alcoholics or something else. This is pointless.
1865  Economy / Economics / Re: Some are hungry, some are losing their homes - some are doubling their wealth on: August 22, 2020, 09:41:38 PM
Bezos is not my role model but I cannot deny that I'd like to have as much money as him.

What can we little poor people do about them making money? Stop buying on Amazon?

It's the old saying that while the rich are getting richer the poor are getting poorer. Our parents knew it's how the world is and so do we. Democracy doesn't work when you can buy votes and sway the outcome in your favor.
1866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Has Lost Its Way: Here’s How to Return to Crypto’s Subversive Roots on: August 22, 2020, 09:31:02 PM
Sometimes things are not used for what it was meant to be created and things find another cause to be used for.
For example , Viagra was originally made to be used for hypertension and heart disease but was later identified as a tablet for erections.
I am still optimistic for bitcoin since it still has a chance to be used for what it was meant to be but even if it doesn't then I am sure it will find another way to rank in the market. So holding it for long term would reap the benefits in the future.

This is a very good point. Who says that Satoshi's original vision was the best and should be followed at all cost?

If what people need isn't a payment system but a store of value in the form of digital gold it should be what really matters.

Anarchy isn't the best system. It's destructive just like communism. If anarchy ever dominates the crypto space it's not going to leasd it anywhere.
1867  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: key safety strategies? on: August 22, 2020, 09:16:31 PM
I can tell you what I used to do and it kept me safe for years.

I had a full node wallet downloaded on a clean computer that I never used to download and install anything but verified software. Then I created an address and did not even open the app ever again. I used the address to store coins but only a blockchain explorer to check the balance. The plan was to never use it until I'm ready to sell my coins.

If you're a holder you won't need anything fancy like a hardware wallet. Nobody is going to steal your coins if your computer and network are free of malware and accessed only by you.
1868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why You Think That Your Coin/Token Will Grow? on: August 21, 2020, 09:05:02 PM
People don't know why they choose certain tokens because usually they're lazy and don't do any research. They buy coins and tokens because some youtubers recommend it or a friend bought the same coins or because there's a well known person or company promoting them.

I know my coins will grow in value because we are at the very beginning of a big bull market that will most likely last for another year or two. Every smart investor should have a bit of crypto in his portfolio and people are slowly waking up and learning it.
1869  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predict top and your selling plan during this market cycle. on: August 21, 2020, 08:29:47 PM
1. I expect 400-500% jump so something between 80 and 100 thousand USD as the top.

People who say the top will be 30 or 50 thousand are trying to sell in the middle of the bull market like so many people did in the previous cycles. When we broke 1000 USD for the second time we went to 3000 and stayed in the vicinity for months while people who underestimated the run were selling. Then we went straight up to 20 thousand.

2. Gradual selling. Maybe 10% every big level after 20 so 10% at 30 and 10% at 40 thousand and so on. After reaching 100 thousand I'd be still holding 20% to see where it gets and I'd keep about 50% of my profits ready to buy the dip.
1870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ready to migrate from PoW to PoS? on: August 21, 2020, 08:17:36 PM
There's no reason to do it. PoS is less secure.

The only advantages of using it would be power consumption but that's pushed by the green enthusiasts who don't understand that the power used to mine Bitcoin would be produced and sold anyway. If we stopped mining all around the world the power plants would not start to shut down because of no demand.

With PoS Bitcoin would lose an important feature and with it a lot of value.

If in fact I do not assure anything, I just wanted to know some points of view, I am a journalist and a big fan of cryptography that is why I present this publication to know the point of view of all, or at least of a majority with more experience than me . I still think we have to see how ETH and ADA are doing. Although assuming that they succeed does not mean that BTC will do it but it is a possibility.

That's great. I'm not trying to find reasons for your post nor am I judging you.

All that I'm saying is we really don't need PoS because it's in no way superior to PoW. PoS is just a way to shut up people who say crypto is bad for the environment.
ADA was designed with PoS in mind so it's not the greatest coin to compare. ETH is better because it will change it's reward distribution years after its creation.
1871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is very excited at the moment. on: August 21, 2020, 06:41:48 PM
Bitcoin has been stopped gaining at the moment and slightly losing its price from various days. I hope it will bounce back and breaks its all-time high at the end of this year.

It's only a correction after a big level was breached.

I wasn't expecting anything else from people who were selling each time it approached 12 thousand. These are traders making money but the level wasn't breached by those who constantly buy at 11 thousand and sell at 12. It was a natural gain because some new people came to the market and decreased the available supply.
There was a thread where they were showing that we have very little coins available for sale. It's a great indicator of high demand.
1872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CoronaCoin More drama, third exit scam and discord deleted on: August 21, 2020, 06:00:38 PM
I don't know if a good heart person would want to investing a coin with a name of a virus that is killing humanity.
And for team who decide to have such name is unfortunate. I would stay away from a project with such name.

They are doing the typical publicity stunt to make money. Things that are googled often give you a lot of unwilling hits and entries. For this reason people were trying to cash in on sexcoin, bit/bitcoin something, trumpcoin and now coronacoin.

This team of scammers is burned. Let's hope they're never able to launch a project again.
1873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How possible is it to make a living trading cryptocurrencies alone? on: August 21, 2020, 05:30:43 PM
Of course it's possible. The only requirements are knowledge and big enough stack of money to begin with.

This is all statistics but good investments can easily give you 10% each time you make a successful trade so even if you catch one pump like that per month you're going to do pretty good.

The more money you have the better of course and this means that if you need to earn 1000 usd a month to make a living you'll be trading around 10 thousand or more. If you're able to trade more it's going to be easier for you. If you have less you'll have to make better trades.
1874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee Has Left His Own Privacy Asset Project on: August 21, 2020, 05:16:12 PM
I have no respect for McAfee since he spew hate on Bitcoin and said that all the positive stuff he said about it was there to pump the price. He's a liar and will not uphold any promise.

this is a behavior that should not exist in the world of cryptocurrencies because a fight between team members should end in something civilized so as not to harm the people who will be holding altcoin

What do you expect from someone who is drunk or on drugs most of the time?
1875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin fueling to launch to the moon anytime soon. on: August 21, 2020, 05:02:08 PM
If your answer to this is praying and hoping that it will go to the moon you're not doing it right.

I'd really be scared of my money if all that I had left in my investment was hopes and prays Cheesy

The last ATH was so long ago that 2017 price action will not help you reach the verdict. It will go up in its own time.

1876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sending in fake ID for KYC on: August 20, 2020, 10:39:12 PM
Yep it's not fair when someone pass the kyc using their fake ID. Seems the team were not verifying it whether is a fake or not. Better not to join a bounty that needs KYC, risky you know exposing your information to unknown person. We really don't know if they use it to scam people.

Asking for KYC also isn't fair. What some exchanges like bittrex did with their KYC wasn't fair. They simply added KYC one day and if you had an account with them you were no longer able to withdraw your money unless you did KYC.

Taking clients money hostage and making them go comply with KYC rules is unfair.

I wouldn't send a fake ID but I also wouldn't use a KYC exchange.

1878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in a good shape? on: August 20, 2020, 09:33:35 PM
It's mych better in every aspect.

2 years ago we were in a bear market now it's bull
2 years ago we had lower market price
2 years ago there were less bicoin users and less exchanges.

What more do you need?
1879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin maximalists are doing more harm to the crypto space than good ? on: August 20, 2020, 09:28:09 PM
Bitcoin 'Maximalist' HODLer, confirmed!  Cheesy

*Just joking*  Smiley

After more than a year of being called that, I honestly still don't know if I should take it as a compliment or an insult. Mostly just me scratching my head in confusion. Cheesy Cheesy

It's an insult because people who act like maximalists rarely call themselves that. It's other people that do it like it's something bad.

I'm probably a maximalist because I see Bitcoin as something superior to existing altcoins. Maybe one day Bitcoin will have to be upgraded and we'll move to a newer version but for now there's barely anything comparable. Look at top altcoins. XRP? BCH, BSV? Cheesy
1880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good news on: August 18, 2020, 04:57:57 PM
12 thousand isn't such a big news. We went higher than this in 2019 and quickly corrected below 10 thousand. What makes you think this time it's going to be any different?

If the hashrate and the short term price are the only reasons you choose to invest in Bitcoin you are doing it wrong.

I'll also add that if you didn't buy at 5,6,7,8,9 thousand and are buying now because it's near 12 you are also doing it wrong.
