1901  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: ASIC resale value on: July 08, 2013, 07:07:03 PM
Scenario:

You buy 10 USB ASICs for ~11BTC.
You mine at ~3.3GH/s for 30 days and get 1 BTC
You sell 10 USB ASICs for ~10BTC.
You break even

Scenario 2:

You buy 10 USB ASICs for ~11BTC.
You sell 8 on eBay for ~$120/ea.
You use the $960 to buy 13BTC on Btc-e
You keep 2 USB ASICs plugged in producing ~0.01BTC/day for a few months
You win

Just depends on how fast your turn-around is and what you are purchasing and your intentions.  Strictly speaking, though, a GPU is going to have better resell in the long run.  After mining for a year on an ASIC, then something is going to be out that is going to dominate your ASIC.

/end rambling rambles

If you will take LTC for repayment, I can repay you tonight Smiley

per BTC-E

1 LTC = 0.03426 BTC

0.03426x = 0.024
/0.03426     /0.03426

x = 0.700525 LTC

We call it 0.75 LTC?
1903  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: help setting up dual 6870 miner. on: July 08, 2013, 03:35:18 PM

I suppose with those settings its no harm no foul for BTC, but adjusting things like thread concurrency doesnt really yield any results in BTC mining, but doesnt hurt either.

Ahhh... I didn't know that.  I rarely mine BTC, since I can yield more BTC equivalent of alt-coins (LTC, FTC, and CAP at the moment)

But that is good to know.  Thanks for the info Smiley

Well hot damn!  I've hit two streaks of 8+ reds in a row.

Looks like I will be switching to BTC mining tonight Sad

Still got 0.01 BTC to go but it's not looking good!

Edit:  Lost it all!  Oh well, no more roulette for me.  It's just not as much fun online Tongue

I'll move over to BTC mining tonight and will pay you back in 2-3 days.  Guess I will get some work done now!
1905  Economy / Lending / Re: Boelens' micro-(ish)loans. on: July 08, 2013, 02:34:54 PM
Sweet.  Thanks, hopefully martingale doesn't fail me today Tongue
1906  Economy / Lending / Re: Boelens' micro-(ish)loans. on: July 08, 2013, 02:01:24 PM
I'm bored at work today and want to play some Roulette.  I'll take a 0.02-0.05 BTC loan repaid by end of week with 20% interest if you want.  Have LTC in my wallet to repay if I lose, but will move my rig to BTC for the rest of the week.

Currently generating about 0.012/day

Will CGminer run both cards at the same time? or should I use GUIminer?

Cgminer should run both cards. You should only have to put one set of arguments for your overclock for them since they are the same.

ok. That brings me to my next question, how would I go about OC'ing, MSI AB? or catalyst?

fire up cgminer and make sure they are both working first... then you can overclock straight from cgminer.. this is how I run my 5850 and 6850 with cgminer, note that I don't care about noise

--intensity 19 --gpu-engine 850 --gpu-fan 100 --thread-concurrency 7200 --shaders 2880 --worksize 256 --api-listen --api-allow W:127.0.0.1

Thats assuming he is wanting to mine LTC.

I don't follow.  I use those same settings for mining Bitcoin, too... LTC Scrypt is just more profitable right now.

1908  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scrypt ASIC on: July 08, 2013, 01:07:47 PM

Most people are new to this kind of stuff, and don't understand how circuits, etc. work.

I think rudeness is okay here.  OP wasn't asking for information on ASICs... he was stating that, with his electronics knowledge, he could just simply reprogram a SHA256 ASIC into hashing Scrypt.  Which is hilariously incorrect.
1909  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scrypt ASIC on: July 07, 2013, 06:44:11 PM
lol

Good luck on your project of reprogramming ASICs

1910  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC Board, while Crap-Coin Miners sitting in the rain - POLL on: July 07, 2013, 04:00:29 PM
You are the idiot if you really believe that people mining other alt-coins are stupid.

LTC is not the most profitable alt-coin right now.   FTC and CAP are both much more profitable right now, and you can mine them and then invest in LTC.

hey Damnsammit, how many Caps will it take me to restore my credibility/Karma on the Bitcointalk.org forum ?

Sadly, it can never be repaired in this heathen land.

Try Catalyst 13.1

It's the only version that I got to work for both my 5850 and my 6950

Which AMD APP SDK should I install....do you know?

Remove all of your drivers and SDK.  Install Catalyst 13.1, no SDK is needed for that version.

Well I was mining LTC for a while, but I think I am moving back to CAP to stay.

Way too cool of an idea here to let it go... now, who wants to make a CAP poker/gambling site a la Atomic Wrangler? Smiley

pretty sure that NHS would cover that... so it should be free.. would love to hear his excuses though.

He might as well just be saying "I don't feel like paying you back now"

I would imagine it would take a long time to sell 1000 of those.

I could use one though Tongue

Then suck it up, have someone drive you to your house, and spend the 2 minutes it takes to send out people's btc? You seem to be finding every reason not to. If you know you may end up in the hospital again in 2 days, why not make things right today?

For a worldwide martial arts champion/lawyer/gaming industry tycoon, you sure do lack commitment and common sense.

That makes too much sense.  It's clear he is just going to string you guys along and then he will probably make a new account that posts up a fake obituary claiming that he is dead.
