1321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BlockBurner LLC - Crucible FPGA Scrypt Miner - Announcement Aug-19 on: August 19, 2013, 08:02:15 PM
Awww what's wrong with ziptied GPUs in a milkcrate!?   Cheesy

Good luck on your future endeavors.  Sorry that the FPGA Scrypt Miner wasn't able to come to fruition.  Many of us doubted that it would, but it was good to follow your journey.

Not really wanting to get the Collector's Edition... was just trying to get the cheapest PC version possible, but I sent you a PM.

.3btc?
1323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: August 19, 2013, 07:35:54 PM
lol...nvm i think im getting it, were in the same pool, so it doesnt matter....hmmm...

Precisely!  The hashrate is the only thing that affects his overall profits.  I brought it up a few pages back that the hashrate might be getting too big, but I haven't researched any of the market orders for the coins we mine.  I just know that if there are coins that would be profitable at 100MH/s but not the current 850MH/s then it would definitely be beneficial for him to divy up the hashrate and spread it out amongst the most profitable coins.

If there aren't enough market orders to fill the sell orders after we mine a coin, then we will cause a dip in the price of that coin and it might not be nearly as profitable as it was when we initiated mining it...

Still a great concept for a pool and he has done a great job.  I just definitely understand why he doesn't care about difficulty Smiley
1324  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Powered risers or not? on: August 19, 2013, 07:30:27 PM
Do powered risers work if you just don't plug the molex in?

Mine did. Asked the supplier before I did and they said plugging them in was optional.

Cool.  Thanks for that info!  I am still anxious about getting all these video cards working without having to use a 2nd PSU.

Everyone says 850W should be fine but I am running out of plugs and all the adaptors I am trying are not working!
1325  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] Mobo + CPU + RAM combo - good enough for gaming... on: August 19, 2013, 07:25:43 PM
I have all of the other things necessary to build a gaming computer.  Currently using some old stuff I had laying around... got a Core2Duo@1.8GHz with 2GB RAM and it is just not beastly enough for any serious gaming.

Unfortunately (for me) I got my wife and kiddo addicted to Final Fantasy this weekend, so I need to get upgraded soon.

Been using http://www.cpubenchmark.net/ while browsing for new CPUs and it looks like mine is right around a score of 1000 on that site.  Anything twice as fast or more would be ideal.  My biggest thing is that my Mobo only supports 4GB RAM, so I definitely need to get another one to beef up my memory.

Not wanting to spend a whole lot, and would like someone trust worthy who could ship quickly.

PM or post here.  Thanks!

EditStill entertaining offers, but my dad might have all of the parts that I need!
1326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: August 19, 2013, 07:17:27 PM

It does affect his profit, if it affects our profitability

I don't think so... he gets the same amount whether we submit 1000 shares or 10 shares.

AFAIK difficulty will never effect how many blocks we find.  His profit is 100% affected by hashrate and exchange rate.

It seems to me that if hashrate goes much higher then the exchange rate will actually net him less profits until he manages to direct the hashpower to different coins and the same time.

Just curious... ordered several powered and unpowered risers but haven't had a chance to play with them yet on my milk-crate.

Should be 128 pool diff on low diff coins.
"512 diff is the same as any other diff" doesnt apply here because were not constantly mining the same coin. It would if we were, but this is a multi pool
I would bet money rejects would drastically lower if we changed diff on low diff coins.

Maybe if you donate a lot of money then h20 would entertain switching the difficulty.

But, if you've been paying attention for the past 60 pages, he has no intention of changing it and doesn't care what anyone says about difficulty.

Bottom line:  It doesn't affect his profit, so he doesn't give a shit Cheesy
1329  Economy / Digital goods / [CLOSED] Final Fantasy XIV: Realm Reborn Pre-Order on: August 19, 2013, 06:55:00 PM
Not even sure how this would work, but I am looking to get this game after getting my family hooked on it this weekend.  My three-year-old told me that I have to play it tonight and didn't understand that the beta is closed until Friday.

Figured I would try to get it on here as I'd rather spend Bitcoins on video games than USD if at all possible.

Let me know if you can do this... guess you would need my Square Enix ID?
1330  Economy / Lending / Re: .30 Mini Loan on: August 19, 2013, 06:19:38 PM
Well you definitely should have seen it coming.  He will log back on soon... with a different user name.

Maybe he will ask for 50-100BTC again and you can fulfill that loan Tongue

1331  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Cointerra GoldStrike System Prices to be Released Soon! on: August 19, 2013, 06:03:14 PM
Well this was the last ASIC company that I was excited about seeing as how they are located a few hours South of me.

If those prices are correct, then I will likely give up on ever wanting to own an ASIC.

Just going to hold onto my Bitcoins and mine with my sexy 1MH/s alt-coin milkcrate Tongue
1332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: my wallets were stolen just now, can any one help me? on: August 19, 2013, 05:57:03 PM
Holy shit!  That's a lot of Bitcoin.  Sorry to hear about this Sad

Yeah I took the Dodgers too!  GL

was going to do a Dodgers/Rangers parlay as well, but the Rangers aren't listed on Nitrogen Sports.
1334  Economy / Lending / Re: .30 Mini Loan on: August 19, 2013, 04:55:28 PM
Looking at the transactions of that address, OP certainly has the means to pay it back. Not paying it back would be pointless, since .30 is worth much less than what he could get through being trusted.

And if he doesn't pay back then you will just sue him right?  That's what you have been telling everyone to do with Joey over $30-40.

It would be hypocritical of you not to sue him if he doesn't repay.
1335  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: USB block erupters are now useless. on: August 19, 2013, 04:45:11 PM

What's so brilliant about those block erupters is the price point is just low enough that even people like me, who know damn well buying one is a waste of money, feel that wasting $50 for a cool desk ornament is justifiable.

Yeah.  It is a cool little item, for sure.  I think that is why it sells so damn well.  It's just a small amount of money and people can justify wasting that on a novelty.  It's not so much an investment as it is a impulse buy.

How much for this:

7. Asus M4A79XTD board +cpu+6g ram

and what CPU is it?   Just became addicted to the new Final Fantasy and my Core 2 Duo with 2GB isn't quite cutting it... pretty sure the GPU is fine though lol Tongue

FYI

Id rather not have my site promoted next to a bright casino/betting sig. They make my eyes hurt.

Its purely a personal preference. I dont mind other sigs as long as they're reasonably tidy.

1338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HELP! Talk me out of buying more GPUs!!! on: August 16, 2013, 07:25:52 PM
I know this has nothing to do with mining but you could join a PC gaming forum and build yourself the ultimate gaming rig or rigs and sell them for double what the rigs cost you.

Wait, what?  Building PCs is so easy... people pay THAT much of a premium for a prebuilt computer?

I looked a few years ago into making that a hobby/business, but it seemed like the mark-up just wasn't significant without a cool custom case a la Alienware.

1339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HELP! Talk me out of buying more GPUs!!! on: August 16, 2013, 06:30:37 PM
Well given the average interest rate of bank accounts... YOU IDIOT! Smiley

I'd rather have 6 BTC than $600 just sitting around in my bank account...
1340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting Picks ( RECORD 143-64-16) on: August 16, 2013, 05:14:04 PM
Only one pick today for me:

Texas Rangers ML-168  The line sucks, but I think the Rangers will take care of business tonight.
