but taxing fast food/alcohol producers and adding incentive or tax breaks on healthy food producers right now its opposite corn etc is subsizidized to allow for cheap fast food and higher profits while the healthy stuff costs an arm and a leg which is very awkward.

Agree 100% with that.  I'll agree to disagree on the other part of this argument though.  I don't like the government stepping in and saying what is right or wrong when it comes to personal health.  That should be up to the parents (unless they are unfit) in a case of a minor, and up to the individual in the case of an adult.

If I want to free-base a ball of tar off of a fire made from asbestos then that should be my right to do so as long as it is in my house where the fumes aren't killing anyone else.

Yeah. 1 GH/s is way too much for some of these coins.

Part of my calculations include looking at past results of profits. So if there is a coin with some problem, that will be accounted for. I don't think pre-mining like you say would be good, because you'd lose out on that 2 minutes of profit. And past results are probably a good enough indicator.

I really want to split up the hashrate like you say. It's going to be hard to figure out how to make the payouts fair though. Do I randomly choose the people who get to mine on the smaller pool, or is it who has the lowest reject rate? And do their extra profits get distributed into the main pool?

It's a pool, so all of the profits would be distributed into the pool regardless of the coin that particular miner is mining.

2 hour period:

Miner A is mining FTC
Miner B is mining CAP
Miner C is mining DCG
Miner D is mining CRAP
Miners E-Z are mining LTC

For that 2 hour period they all get shares that are distributed amongst all of the coins being mined.  I am sure there are flaws in that idea since I have never operated a pool.

I think that there actually should be some sort of consortium regarding what your allowed to feed to the public through sale. Some sort of standard because we all know fast food is a killer so why would you let people promote it? Why not keep using Fiat then why are you here using bitcoin? We know its bad for us so lets just keep feeding the fat cats until they explode and then feed a new fat cat working away our lives like a slave??

Yes its not as addictive so it may be allowed to be held but business should be allowed to serve food that is NOT going to have negative effects on such a widescale such as fast food! this is just common sense to me dont know how hard it is to understand for so many people. Maybe because they are in the circle its hard to have an external perspective on things and realize it.

Yes freedom of choice comes into it, but again it comes down to the fact that people who eat it everyday dont think there's anything wrong with it, theres smart ppl dying because of it. If incentive (money) is given to feed people to death with bad food then that is the wrong message and we turned off on a tangent somewhere. I just think there should be an inecntive to becoming healthy and promoting health as success is highly correlated to being healthy. Maybe success isn't something those with power wish to share with us minions.

I don't think the government should be able to tell us what we can and cannot put into our bodies.  They should reserve their resources to combat fraud and malintent.  If a company is selling rat poison with a label that says "Not for human consumption" then it is legal.  If a company is selling rat poison disguised as food, then the government should step in.

If someone is smoking cigarettes because they think it is beneficial to their health then they are stupid and deserve the cancer they are getting.  The government shouldn't step in and tell a business that they can't sell the cigarettes just because it's unhealthy though.  If McDonalds was marketting a Big Mac and Fries as a "healthy alternative" to a home cooked meal, then there are problems.  However, I would venture to say that most people know that eating a pound of saturated fat isn't a healthy choice, but they want something quick to satisfy their hunger.

Either way, I have the impression that any of these pools are a waste of time. Maybe these pools should have a rig with at least a single 7950 pre-mining the so called "most profitable coin" for 2 minutes before making the switch, to make sure that stalls and rejects don't eat up hash rate.

Blindingly switching according to calculations similar to what seen on coinchoose, doesn't cut it. My rig is stable, cgminer reports the same 870 Kh/s, yet HashCows mining KrugerCoin, the pool reports 160 ~ 200 for the full round. Where is the remaining hash rate going? Rejects, stalls, lag and God knows what more ...

Agree 100% with this... as I have stated for a while, I think this pool was a great idea but the hashrate is too large for it to be effective unless he could split the hashrate up and have 80% mine LTC and 20% jump around and mine the alt-coins.  1GH/s is just too large to throw at these smaller coins even if they are the most profitable.

I always find it funny when people post these.  "Win everytime!  I've won 1.12 BTC..." ummm if you win all the time then shouldn't your winnings be about 1000x that amount?

I always find it funny they think they can trick people even though a magician never reveals his tricks

Well this isn't a magician revealing it's tricks.  It's a bum telling you how to make money... which is even better! lol
1126  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should weed be legalized? POLL on: September 17, 2013, 07:30:54 PM
If its medically proven that in the long term occasional usage of weed is not determental to your overall health in any way then yes legalize it, alcohol however should be outright banned and destroyed.... it is addictive from the first sip and it is proven to be bad for you in the long run.

Fuck that line of thinking.  Fuck it straight to hell!

I love my alcohol, and I am fully aware of it's detrimental affects on my health.

I don't know why people think that stuff that is bad for you should be "banned and destroyed". Might as well add all fast food, most frozen food, soft drinks, Kool-Aid, etc. to your list of "wish this was banned" substances.

Obesity is the leading cause of death in the USA, so take away the french fries and burgers before even thinking about putting your paws on my whiskey.

1127  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should weed be legalized? POLL on: September 17, 2013, 07:14:06 PM
Coke and heroin should be legal, too, IMO.

No reason we can poison ourselves with some substances but not others.  As long as I am only shooting up in my veins, then what makes it an issue with the federal government?

Fuck this guy.

Go here instead;

VARDIFF, better interface, and, the operator, is actually very fast at answering questions, and addressing concerns, rather than just telling his miners to go fuck themselves

lol

Not sure why, but your attitude reminds me of Jonah Hill.  Gotta agree that the pool op is rather slow and incredibly short when it comes to responding to questions.

Difficulty doesn't really matter, but it is good to see someone implement VARDIFF on a similar server since it will obviously keep people happier!

Also, not sure what your avatar is, but it is pretty cool.

Had a good night last night!  Even though the Rangers just lost their 1000th game in a row, I won on all of my other bets including a 5-game parlay.

Tonight, I am going to try once more on the Rangers.  I'm thinking they are just about kaput for the season though.  Reminding me a lot of last year...

Really the rangers again? WTF?

Going to try up to three times.  I think they will win at least one of the next two games... but if not, then I can't go wrong with Perez on the mound.  He has been on fire lately and always gets a good positive line.

Parlay for today:
Detroit Tigers ML-257
Oakland Athletics ML-150
Arizona Diamondbacks ML-112
Philadelphia Phillies ML-175

Parlay:+589

I am frustrated but not because of Bitcoin!

This.

Been a frustrating month for me at work and home.  Bitcoin is the least of my worries!
1133  Economy / Lending / Re: [Filled] Looking for .3btc loan until Friday (Sep 20th) on: September 16, 2013, 09:08:37 PM
Yo Damnsammit.
Even though I'm sure you're a decent guy, and I would love to share a beer or 10 with you, please consider bringing those coins with you before going to work. Throw the btc on a one-shot blockchain wallet, or something. Cause loans, in my opinion, should be reserved to big projects or desperate situations.
Taking loans is not natural, nor the right way to handle daily "I can't pay right now" situations. And even if you're obviously 100% honest, making loans trivial as you do, do hurt.

That was my opinion, no hard feeling. Smiley

I'd love to have a beer or ten with you as well.  I understand that loans are meant to be taken seriously, and if I were approaching a loan that was a considerable amount of money then I would take it more seriously as I did when requesting a 10BTC loan (with collateral) that I am glad fell through as ASIC Miner lowered the price of the BE's shortly thereafter.

I prefer to keep my coins on my computer, and eventually I will be moving them to an offline laptop, but my computers are in pieces right now and I have the wallet backed up on a USB somewhere, but I am planning on getting the rig up and running on Friday.  I don't see any harm in taking out "gambling loans" like I have done on this forum.  I've never defaulted and don't intend to start now.

I do apologize if it is encouraging scammers to try and take out similar loans.  This will be the last loan that I take for this reason.  Thanks for pointing that out, Kouye.
1134  Other / Off-topic / Re: What video games do you play? on: September 16, 2013, 08:41:01 PM
Demon's Souls
Dark Souls
Dark Souls II (praying for beta access)

Also, been wrapped up in FFXIV:RR lately.  My family just loves the game so much and I have to play it with them.

Confirming that I have received it.  Thanks, mate!  Hopefully the Rangers snap that 5000 game losing streak tonight Cheesy

How can I know that you'll pay back?

You won't know!  Bwhahaha *evil laugh*

You could look at the trust though, as I have done a few deals on here.

uvwvj, I will take you up on the 15%, and repay .345btc on Friday.

Send to:

Let me know what address you want me to repay to.
1137  Economy / Lending / [Filled] Looking for .3btc loan until Friday (Sep 20th) on: September 16, 2013, 07:54:44 PM
I don't really need the coins, as it will just be used for my gambling habbit, but I won't have access to my wallet until Friday.  A few weeks back I took down my mining rig and built a gaming PC.  Got all of the parts to get the mining rig running again, but won't have any freetime until Friday when I finally get a day off from the jay-oh-bee.

Ended up placing a large bet on the Cowboys this weekend and lost... so I am out of money in my Nitrogen Sports account.  Looking for a .3BTC loan to deposit in there today and then I can pay you back on Friday when I get access to my wallet.

Looking for 10% interest but may do more.  I have done similar loans in the past.

You can verify that I have enough to cover the loan in my wallet:
http://blockexplorer.com/address/16cTWkJdgnmF9mp6VmTBAWnbV2nufKJjFj

Thanks!  Also, no collateral or docs.  It's a small amount so you either will do it or you won't... no worries.  I can wait til Friday to gamble if I need to Smiley

Filled.  Thanks uvwvj!

Ok..   Going to try another pool for a while..

For a few reasons..

1.  Still kind of puzzled why my first month was really good here but since then seemed to drop about 20% to 30% of what my first month was.  And no real explanation as to why(See #2 below)

2.  H20, nothing against you but you really dont tell us much at all..

3.  Again nothing personal and I am sure H20 has a life but this pool seems slow to get their "To Do" list done..

I will come back in a week or two(or sooner) if this new pool is not producing..

take care guys..

Good luck with the new pool!  I have been lazy about getting my mining rig back up and running, but hopefully this weekend I will be back on the Middlecoin.

I don't think the government should be able to tell me what I am allowed to put into my body.

Sodomy and drug laws are ridiculous.  Also, it shouldn't be illegal to kill yourself... lol
