1421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think people pulling out of mining is good for Bitcoin? on: August 08, 2013, 09:52:29 PM
If you have free hardware and free electricity, it can certainly work.

Yes, but even if you have free hardware and free electricity, you are still an idiot for GPU mining Bitcoin.

You can Scrypt mine on middlecoin.com and make a much better return.

1422  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer warning - marjamrob on: August 08, 2013, 09:44:39 PM
Yep definitely a lesson!

He was at least clever in offering a loan first and then trying to get me to loan him money back.

He just picked the wrong guy, because I am not going to send any large sum to someone I don't know.  A few bucks here and there means nothing to me, though, I'm a gambler lol Tongue

Just don't want him going around scamming someone else.   Not sure if you can track any alts that he might have, but I'd imagine he has plenty more and he is not as easy to track as dumbass Joey.

1424  Economy / Scam Accusations / Scammer warning - marjamrob on: August 08, 2013, 09:26:35 PM
What happened::
marjamrob pulled a fast one in an atypical way - well more clever than most scammers that I have seen on here.  He originally loaned me 0.1btc through the lending forum, I repaid that and then he asked me if I could loan him 0.1btc… I figured why not, I will make the interest that I paid him back.  So that was successful and then he gained my trust.  He asked for a 0.5btc loan but I declined because I didn’t have that much as I was moving my money between a few alt-coins and didn’t want to sell them yet.  So then he came back and asked for 0.1btc again.  After which I never heard from him again.

Second loan, done through PMs from me to him – 0.1btc:
Have I paid you back yet? And if not, can I have an address?

No.  You haven't paid back yet.  Not due til the 25th though Smiley

Thanks Smiley

Oh, no problem. I bought 1.1 BTC for $105, so I'll send you your money tomorrow.

Sounds good man Smiley

Also, I was wondering about getting another loan to invest in just-dice. I have money that I can buy more BTC with, if I need to. I was thinking .5 BTC, pay back .6 for like 2 weeks? Would that work for you?

Attempted to get a .5btc loan from me after repaying that loan.  This was the set-up.  He built confidence in me through lending me money, and then borrowing from me, and then wanted to set it up for a bigger score.  However, I didn’t really notice it because I didn’t have that much in my wallet at the time so just declined him.  A day later I received another request for a 0.1btc loan:

3rd loan:
Could I get a .1 loan again, same terms. I have money to cover if anything goes bad.
If that is cool, to this address please: 1CvqeJzvvFRSB8L1J9KGm4GTQKcesbSToK

Alrighty.  You are lucky, I have almost exactly .1 BTC in my wallet right now Tongue
The rest is on Cryptsy!  Repay on or before July 30th.

Additional Notes:
The loan was supposed to be paid on July 30th.  His last log-in date was July 28th for quite some time.  I sent him a message asking for repayment on the 30th and did not get a response.  Then I sent him a message last night saying that I was going to make a thread about him in Scammer Accusations.  He clearly logged in afterwards from looking at his profile.

Not really too concerned about the 0.1btc, he fooled me and it’s not really a significant amount of coin to me, so I don’t care.  I just don’t want him to try it again on someone later and I don’t feel like monitoring his profile to see when he is logging in and if he is posting.

Slap him with the scammer tag, please!

1425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think people pulling out of mining is good for Bitcoin? on: August 08, 2013, 08:33:50 PM

Na, still zero fucks given about whether they are profitable or lose their ass.

I'm about the same.  I'm almost done trying to tell people that they are stupid for using GPUs on Bitcoin mining.

Some people just can't read or something.  Anyone in a Bitcoin mining pool with a GPU is ignorant.  It's as simple as that!
1426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting Picks ( RECORD 143-64-16) on: August 08, 2013, 08:31:24 PM

you on fire bro!!! I have no plays for today GL ALL!

hahah yeah, needless to say, no parlays today.

Going to bet on the Tigers, though.  The line isn't great, but Scherzer is a madman this year and he made me pay both times I bet against him Tongue
1427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think people pulling out of mining is good for Bitcoin? on: August 08, 2013, 08:28:39 PM
No need to be tough, just don't see why the survivor of GPU miners is important at all.  The GPU whiners are like the bloated labor unions whining that labor is going to China.  Oh so sad, you can't compete.  Go mine LTC or buy ASICs.

That sounds much better than "I give zero fucks"

Sounds like you give a few fucks, or at least an iota of a single fuck.  If you truely gave no fucks, then you wouldn't have felt the need to say so... FUCK.
1428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think people pulling out of mining is good for Bitcoin? on: August 08, 2013, 08:24:52 PM
Do you think people pulling out of mining is good for Bitcoin, as the ASIC manufacturers dump their hashrate and bleed GPU miners out of profitability?

I give zero fucks about GPU miners.

Tough guy is tough.
1429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crowdfund Homes in Detroit? on: August 08, 2013, 06:32:03 PM
Yeah, I think a lot of these have past due utilities and taxes that the buyers will be eligible for, and the residential to commercial is probably valid concern, too.  Zoning laws are a bitch.

But, for the most part these houses are legitimately for sale.  I have about 40 relatives in the suburbs of Detroit and every one of them has said they wouldn't even drive down the majority of those streets if they could avoid it.  One of them is a former Army MP Undecided

I'm still going to look in Warren and Sterling Heights.  I gotta get to a colder climate.  I love Texas, but these Summers make me want to kill people.  I swear the summer I spent in Iraq wasn't as bad as this... too humid here.
1430  Economy / Lending / Re: need 5 BTC loan QUICK on: August 08, 2013, 05:03:53 PM
Why doesn't someone just sue him?

The same reason no one will actually follow through on their threats of violence.

It's only $30...

I'll be sending you .2btc after work today.  I figure I might as well have two chances to win... maybe I'll let my wife make picks on one of them Smiley

Usually the wtf wife picks win.

"Oh those Cowboys have pretty uniforms I will pick them"

Haha!  Well my wife knows more about football than some of my friends, but she definitely gets distracted when she sees some Witten booty lol
1432  Economy / Services / Re: [Bounty] Sketch a picture, get 0.1 BTC - Logo concept art needed! on: August 08, 2013, 12:54:41 PM
That looks good!  Feel free to submit more.  There is a week left Smiley

Any sketch works.  I love taking sketches and importing them into Photoshop and making designs.... I just can't do the sketching part Tongue

1433  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Which Asus 5850 driver is best to use on: August 08, 2013, 12:47:44 PM
What mobo are you using?  Do you just have the one PCI-E slot?

The reason I ask is because I was using a Abit IL9 Pro which has 2 PCI-E slots... well my 5850 would not work in the primary slot.  I had to put it in the secondary slot to get it to work properly.

Thanks!  I'm just upset I didn't bet $2 like I usually do!  lol
1436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crowdfund Homes in Detroit? on: August 08, 2013, 02:29:43 AM
take it from someone who lives in Detroit - stay as far away from the D as possible. there's no good reason to invest a penny, not to mention a second of your time. It's a literal dump and will be for a very long time. It also has the highest murder rate in the country Smiley

Where in Detroit do you live?

I have family in the suburbs and it's not that bad... they just say stay away from downtown.

I think a lot of people don't really understand how LARGE Detroit really is...
1437  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Which Asus 5850 driver is best to use on: August 08, 2013, 02:27:32 AM
ok. I tried 12.8 and couldn't get Catalyst control host to quit crashing. 13.1 functions normally, but both cgminer(v 3.1.1 and 2.11.3) and reaper beta fail withing seconds of launching.  One thing that I've noticed. I"l only using 6 6pin plugs instead of a 6pin and an 8pin plug. Would that cause an issue?

That shouldn't cause an issue.... I use 2 6 pin plugs (I assume thats what you meant?) on mine.

What are your command lines like for CGMiner?  Have you successfully run CGMiner before?

If not, it's best to run it very simple with no custom settings, and then after getting it to launch correctly, you can start playing with the fun stuff like intensity, thread concurrency, overclocking, etc.

1438  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS: Various GPU's & mining components... on: August 07, 2013, 10:47:18 PM
Card received and works great!  The only problem is the unfortunate location of my PCI-E 1x slot... gotta go get at least one more riser, but am just going to get two more and get better air flow between them!

Thanks!  Positive feedback left!

Edit:  Nevermind, it wouldn't let me leave feedback Undecided
1439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think people pulling out of mining is good for Bitcoin? on: August 07, 2013, 09:31:24 PM
ITT: people who are mad because their GPU mining rigs are being marginalized by ASICs. Also, http://dustcoin.com/.
or http://www.coinchoose.com/
and enjoy mining at 5x profitability of BTC  Cheesy Cheesy Wink

What's sad is that you can point people in that direction and still get a response of "I don't want to mine alt-coins" and every day there is a new thread about how GPU mining is dead.

Oh well, you can lead the horse to the water, but you can't force them to drink.
1440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crowdfund Homes in Detroit? on: August 07, 2013, 08:57:33 PM
Detroit today looks like when a totally newbie start playing Simcity and does all sort of wrong things  Cheesy

LOL!

I was thinking the same thing a few nights ago when I was scoping out some of the homes on Google maps.
