1901  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright to move coins from an early (associated with the genesis?!) block? on: May 03, 2016, 06:33:04 PM
.....

My personal opinion is that Dave Kleiman was most likely to be Satoshi Nakamoto (he is now dead...).
This is an interesting read in case you missed it:

1902  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright to move coins from an early (associated with the genesis?!) block? on: May 03, 2016, 04:21:29 PM
Well, even if he can move some of the early coins... it still does not prove that he is Satoshi. Let's say {conspiracy theory incoming} that some agency got hold of him very early on in the game and they seized

his documents... and waited for the opportune time to use it. Nobody back then, thought Bitcoin would become this big. Satoshi might have left these experimental information on pieces of paper or saved it in

digital form, and they only NOW were able to retrieve it. Craig like the Bond look and might be working with these agencies and Gavin to slowly ease into this position, until everyone believes this and then start

slowly selling off this wealth...  Roll Eyes

I now intend to ask Snowden on Twitter about this. Grin
1903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright to move coins from an early (genesis?!) block? on: May 03, 2016, 04:11:07 PM
the title is misleading, he said from the early blocks, not genesis block, in fact they are unspendable exactly

I just changed the title...

However, if he is indeed Satoshi he can move coins associated with the genesis block. The question is: What if Wright provide a solid proof that he is Nakamoto? I see it as a problem...

Then why lie and copy and paste Satoshi's signature pretending that he created it from the hash of a Sartre document?

For someone trying to prove they are Satoshi it would have been very simple just to provide a signed message rather than all the nonsense and plain lies that this guy has been publishing.

I really don't know... tbh, this is my only hope that he's lying, because otherwise, I will repeat, we will be in trouble.

Let us assume that the "genesis" block is actually #1. I also know that the real genesis block is unspendable.
1907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright to move coins from an early (genesis?!) block? on: May 03, 2016, 03:37:52 PM
After watching how toxic this community has become... I wouldn't want to prove I was satoshi either.

If you actually listen to the man he says he had no choice in the matter, it was basically decided for him because of hackers revealing his information, issues with the Australian tax office, etc.

People want to think that satoshi was some perfect human being in every way. Not true, we're all imperfect humans. I think Craig fits the bill in some ways, but he could still be proven a fraud. The ball is firmly in his court. The problem is even if he does provide amazing proof most people here still won't believe it. Like I said, toxic community.

The question imho is not if he is Satoshi, the question is what if he is indeed Satoshi. I believe that we all are going to have problems if Wright proves that he is the father of Bitcoin, just because he is imperfect human like us...
1908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Craig Wright to move coins from an early (associated with the genesis?!) block? on: May 03, 2016, 03:13:02 PM
I really hope he's lying, because I see nothing good in this...

There is still no solution for many of the ransomware viruses, so it would be better to post what exactly is your case (i.e. name of the virus, what kind of documents were affected).
1910  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING: CMEGroup announce launch of Bitcoin reference rate and real-time index on: May 03, 2016, 11:07:26 AM
From what I know, CME plans to add Bitcoin in Q4/2016, which means it will be after the reward halving.
1911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING: CMEGroup announce launch of Bitcoin reference rate and real-time index on: May 03, 2016, 10:52:24 AM
Now this doesn't mean BTC will skyrocket and be traded everywhere overnight, but it is certainly a major step forward in that direction. Once you start to get the option to choose BTC as one of your Fidelity or Vanguard retirement fund picks, then you will know we have arrived.

Who knows? Warren Buffet for example might change his mind on Bitcoin! Grin
1912  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING: CMEGroup announce launch of Bitcoin reference rate and real-time index on: May 03, 2016, 10:20:17 AM
Thank you.
This is some kind of explanation I was looking for as I did not understand what effect this could have to Bitcoin.
Really some big news!

Well, considering that CME makes probably more than $1Bn in profits alone, it is kinda of a big deal. Grin
1913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING: CMEGroup announce launch of Bitcoin reference rate and real-time index on: May 03, 2016, 10:00:02 AM
Is Bitcoin going to be listed on any of those exchanges now, or in the near future?

Is the reference rate and real time index active already, or will we have to wait for it to launch?

Is the Local Bitcoins price included in the calculation that works out the reference rate?

Looks like they will first start with Bitstamp, Coinbase, Genesis, itBit and Kraken. Read this.
1914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING: CMEGroup announce launch of Bitcoin reference rate and real-time index on: May 03, 2016, 09:46:52 AM
i posted that yesterday and it is a big deal but the "Satoshi" news pushed that one away.  Undecided

Indeed it is, but Craig Wright's "revealing" as Satoshi is kinda of a bigger deal. Smiley

Nah, LiteCoinGuy got it right. This Satoshi/Wright stuff will blow over regardless of how it ends up, but the CME adding a BTC reference rate and index will have long term implications for Bitcoin trading. This will put Bitcoin in front of large dollar traders (think institutional investors, mutual funds, etc.) and even offers a form of legitimacy to Bitcoin to the financial world that has until now been missing. This could potentially bring Bitcoin from a Billion dollar market to the Big T.

I know that as I am certified stock broker (though it is not my real life job), but my point was that Wright was/is the "news of the day" so I find it normal.

1917  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / BREAKING: CMEGroup announce launch of Bitcoin reference rate and real-time index on: May 03, 2016, 06:42:03 AM
Here is the link to the announcement!

About CME Group:

"As the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, CME Group is where the world comes to manage risk. Comprised of four exchanges - CME, CBOT, NYMEX and COMEX - we offer the widest range of global benchmark products across all major asset classes, helping businesses everywhere mitigate the myriad of risks they face in today's uncertain global economy.

CME Group is the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, handling 3 billion contracts worth approximately $1 quadrillion annually (on average)."

This is a very good news for Bitcoin's exposure!
1918  Economy / Services / Re: 30.000 Satoshi - Facebook Campaign on: May 03, 2016, 05:56:51 AM
Yes, if you do it consistently you will earn 1 BTC weekly. Especially the bonus method that I described in there, that can earn you even more if you are skilled.

I could perhaps give out 1-2 free copies to reviewers, but they have to be trusted members.

Hello,

I would like to test if your methods from your e-book are working. That of course if the offer is still on the table.

Cheers,
Spartak

free advice
youtube has a huge video theme called 'Fail'

I'm aware of that and it is why I strongly believe that FAIL has a huge potential as a cryptocurrency.
The tabs pointed below are there for a reason. Smiley They will be picking up specific hashtags from Twitter.

Hey, blockcrushr,

Looks like you have noticed my tweed and decided to join the discussion. Thank you for that! Smiley

That's a great idea. Do you have anyone doing this currently? That would be a great thing to roll out, assuming people are comfortable with being on YouTube receiving assistance. One thing I will say is that the scheme we have proposed has more anonymity and perhaps dignity designed in.

Well, I would like to explain a bit more about this. FAILCoin was created over 2 years ago as an answer to the many scams, which we are witnessing with cryptocurrencies, but it is now developing as a way to help people and just for fun. Below you can see a screenshot of our Beta wallet. The idea is very simple. The wallet will pick up specific hashtags from Twitter (Facebook is currently a problem), and for the homeless (or just people in need) the hashtag will be probably #FAILdonations. You can just click on the specific tab and see everything with provided links. No need to visit websites, read forums and such. There are actually good amount of people involved in this, despite we are looking silent. FAIL team currently has 2 members from England, Bulgaria: 2, Russia: 1, Indonesia: 1, Netherlands: 1, Greece: 1, South Korea: 1, Thailand: 1 and France: 1. Six of us revealed our real identities (we will be soon presented on our thread, website etc...). It's extremely hard to achieve that, because all of us are working only for a share of the project (i.e. FAIL coins) and we all know that most of the people would prefer to take their $5 in Bitcoin, instead of working for something greater. Grin

Sadly, we are still in the middle of our developing, but we will deliver.

P.S. Why anonymity? People who are making videos on YouTube are known either way. People who send coins could have their privacy, because only their wallet address will be known. Wink

#1 - It's a proof of concept of how blockchain technologies can be used to solve human problems.
#2 - I'm not an expert on homelessness or hunger, so one goal of putting it out is to get feedback from a wide variety of stakeholders. To see if it is feasible, desired, and a first step towards actually implementing it.

I know why you wrote your white paper, but my point was that the people in general are not tech savvy. Our idea about this is again very simple. We will create a short video (which will be most likely narrated on 5+ languages), where we will explain on how this works. Of course, we intend to write something like a white paper too, but everything will be explained in a simple manner. In my humble opinion, we all must try to explain things simple if we want better adoption of the cryptocurrencies. What is that I mean? I mean, for example, you probably don't know/understand the technology, which is behind your sink in the kitchen, right? You just know that you can turn it on and drink water (or pour it in order to cook) and then turn it off. it's not your job to know HOW this water is coming to you. I believe that we just need to talk with people and just show them how to "turn on and off" their wallets, without complicating things.

That's one point of view and you are certainly entitled to it. Although, it's well known that that's a reason people do not give. According to this study, http://cmfmedia.org/web/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Public-Perceptions-Homeless.pdf, 45% of people surveyed think people panhandle because "it's an easy way to pick up cash". I'm trying to find more specific statistics about people's attitudes towards this. I know that I personally would be more likely to give if I know the money will be used for food.

Believe me, I know! I don't need to read this, because I live in Bulgaria, where sadly, begging is also a business. There are many beggars who are earning more money per month, than the average salary of an average person here. We again will try to keep things simple. Watch video below for reference:

Now, this guy didn't spend his money on alcohol, right? Did you liked him? Personally I did and I would not mind to send him 5 coins for example. This particular video has been watched by almost 45 million people, right? If only 1% of them are interested (or know about) cryptocurrencies, then we talk about 450,000 people. If only 0.05% decide to participate in the given campaign, you have 2250 more people who helped the guy and knows about you.

It sounds simple indeed, but I know very well that it would be extremely hard to achieve that.

Cheers,
Spartak
