1901  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Dev Sells 50% of his Bitcoin due to 51% threat. on: June 13, 2014, 06:40:08 PM
I wonder what will make him sell another 50% next time.

I told him to put at least half of his fiat into NXT, since NXT cannot be practically 51%-attacked. He hasn't replied yet, probably thinking about it.
Probably ignoring you and counting it as spam.

That's fine. He will join when he's ready, like many others. There is no hurry and no competition for NXT anywhere on the horizon.
1902  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Dev Sells 50% of his Bitcoin due to 51% threat. on: June 13, 2014, 06:22:57 PM
Yes, all is relative, but I am sure he'll find something else to complain about NXT.

That's a problem when people become too smart  Wink

So he's going to implement his tree chain on NXT?    Grin

NXT could use his coding skills for sure, whatever he would like to implement on it. Since it's extendable and can plug services on top of it, opportunities for software engineers are limitless.
1903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Dev Sells 50% of his Bitcoin due to 51% threat. on: June 13, 2014, 06:17:07 PM
But he claimed on LTB that NXT is not truly a decentralized currency. So as a purist like him, I doubt it.

He might change his opinion now that he started doubting Bitcoin. It's who put most efforts into achieving decentralization is more decentralized. All is relative.

What do NXT people think about NEM?

What are the advantages that NXT has over NEM?

If you were to advise someone like myself who is interested but doesn't own any alts, what would you recommend?

Nxt has been in use for over 6 months, we have several very advanced features being released the next 3 months and thousands of users.  NEM hasn't launched yet.

One simple question: If you google your password (with the quotes "" , i.e " blah blah my pass") , how many hits do you get?

It's probably a bad idea to google your password, as it would then be stored in google's database Cheesy

bter just needs to add OKPAY now  Wink

Yeah, would be nice to be able to fund not only with egopay, but there are okpay->egopay exchanges I believe, although commission fees might be bad.

I lowered it Tongue

What are your thoughts on each chipping in 0.5-1btc and setting up a bounty for chinese members to contact bter to get us added? We will pay for a tweet/email/qq chat session where it is mentioned and we pay a certain amount.

Bter won't take money and won't add until Qora gets more stable. That's what happened to NXT anyway. Bter wouldn't want issues with syncing and handle a lot of support requests due to deposit/withdrawal problems.
1909  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: June 13, 2014, 12:03:01 PM

Low volume & no price volatility is the problem. Qora needs more traders, but nobody buying, nobody dropping price, exchange often frozen.

Did I mention that Qora can be traded on the NXT Asset Exchange? Cheesy

But uno problemo there, sellers are a bit greedy, need to lower prices a bit, to get buyers more interested, just a friendly hint Smiley
1910  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: June 13, 2014, 12:01:13 PM

Is this the first large NXT/USD market or are there other smaller ones?

yaaaaawn, been hearing this bullshit since ltc was a 0.004-0.005. yet, it's still there and totally outperformed btc in 2013. and I guess it will do the same this year. just wait and see.

That was many moons ago. I don't see any reasons why it would be the same this year. On the contrary, a lot of reason why it would be different this year Wink

I wonder if the asset exchange has better overall prices than an online exchange.

For Qora? Probably not, as there is not enough liquidity/buyers/sellers yet and the Qora asset was added 3 days ago and Qora wallet has/had some syncing issues I heard. Overall, it's just a new market place for Qora, just like for NEM or any other coin that would set up its gateway there. I wouldn't expect prices to be any better. But when Poloniex went down for 1.5 hours yesterday due to DDoS, NXT AE was the only place Qora could be traded on (but it's not like there was a lot of Qora trading going on at that time haha), so the NXT AE is kind of backup exchange right now, because it can't go down, well, someone could try to take down, but it's not a website they can DDoS Cheesy
1913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: rpietila Altcoin Observer on: June 13, 2014, 09:08:47 AM
I installed the NXT Wallet. Wow! This is interesting. A decentralized asset exchange wallet and more. Gonna be fun to check this out.
Where is there more information on Qora, etc? I'm wet behind the ears here.

Thx in advance,
IAS

Qora asset id is 2950240446121913764

You go to Asset exchange, Add Asset button at the top right corner.

The Qora asset is operated manually by Dzarmush, look him up on Qora thread.

You guys, I've put more users on ignore in this thread than in any other. In fact I don't think I had anyone on my ignore list before this thread  Cheesy
1915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEM's leader utopianfuture RETIRED after mistake posting w. sockpuppet acc on: June 13, 2014, 08:28:46 AM
If some/many of you guys got a few nemstakes with sockpuppet accounts, why can't he get a few nemstakes? You don't really believe you're better than him, do you? Cheesy
1916  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Litecoin hold the #2 spot? Doubtful..and here are the coins who will benefit on: June 13, 2014, 08:09:16 AM
You must be pretty bored..you have been posting on a number of Litecoin threads.  Huh

I will follow through but at $50 as you wont include volume. Let me find an escrow and will post back in here.

mmm...Looking forward to that free meal in December:)

Yep, pretty bored.
$50 is too little, considering how much you invested into Litecoin, don't you think? Wink I won't include volume for the reason I stated above, only market cap betting.
1917  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Litecoin hold the #2 spot? Doubtful..and here are the coins who will benefit on: June 13, 2014, 07:56:55 AM
Strange how its only the other alt coin bagholders and btc fanboi's who are so concerned about the fiat price of ltc  Roll Eyes

I am not concerned, just got bored and did some talking. I'll leave this topic, since noone's willing to follow through with the bet.
1918  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Litecoin hold the #2 spot? Doubtful..and here are the coins who will benefit on: June 13, 2014, 07:30:37 AM
in fact most if u chat to them think of loading up if it falls further, I know I will. I don't know a single big holder who is worried about there ltc position.

That's fine, I'd lose the bet then, but I think I will not Smiley
1919  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Litecoin hold the #2 spot? Doubtful..and here are the coins who will benefit on: June 13, 2014, 07:22:45 AM
Number 2 in market cap and daily volume, free money right there. Find a trusted escrow we both agree on, we both send $100 of BTC for them to hold. In 6 months time, I come back here and smile Grin

I bet for market cap only not being #2, won't sign up for betting on daily volume, because the daily volume may still be substantial in Litecoin as mass exodus begins out of it.

You suggested this bet, you find the trusted escrow Smiley
1920  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Litecoin hold the #2 spot? Doubtful..and here are the coins who will benefit on: June 13, 2014, 07:16:37 AM
That is why you do not own LTC.

Put your money where your mouth is $100 to be held in escrow by someone on the forums that in 6 months time, LTC will still be number 2.

I don't own LTC, that one is correct.

Wait, you bet that it'll still be #2, I don't Smiley Sure, let's bet, how do we do that?
