1921  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you have a strategy to help you determine that the dip is at its lower end? on: August 24, 2021, 11:53:32 PM
Any strategies out there to help you determine that it's the end of the dip for this period?

Self-analysis, instincts, own speculations, own predictions, that's my way.

Trend and news will give you a better forecast even though it's not that accurate but at least you have a source of information that the possible outcome of the Bitcoin price.  Make our own speculation is the hardest thing on the market since we know that the crypto market price is unpredictable at all.  So there's no real way to determine where's the dip but you know how to determine if there's a profit upon purchasing your crypto.

An expert says, with the combination of Technical and Fundamental analysis which gives you an almost accurate result of predicting the price, I can't give more specific details about it but I just wanted you to make your own research about this.
1922  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which crypto debit card? on: August 24, 2021, 11:48:28 PM
Have you heard Bitpay? They also offer a Bitpay debit card from here https://bitpay.com/card/
As they said, it's the best for US residents but I saw recently that there are few issues about this company and there's also a few scam allegation towards them.

Have you tried Blockcard debit card?
As I have heard, they don't have a transaction fee at all or a withdrawal fee, all you have to pay is a fixed flat monthly fee.
Otherwise, you can choose on the link shared above, all of them are reputable crypto debit card companies but I highly suggest to read first the TOS and FAQ before using it.
1923  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Can anyone share their experiences with BitFlyer? on: August 24, 2021, 11:26:27 PM
I never use this exchange platform but I think if the KYC thing you mean, IIRC they are a decentralized exchange platform that is far different from Binance.

Here is the comparison while having short research between Binance and BitFlyer exchange.
https://www.cryptowisser.com/exchange/binance/vs/bitflyer/

Which is the majority choose was Binance over BitFlyer.
1924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador rolls out 200 Bitcoin ATMs in a bid to speed-up nationwide adoption on: August 24, 2021, 10:59:15 PM
200 Bitcoin ATMs quite a lot, I think this isn't distributed yet and fully functional because when I checked the Coinatmradar, the country of El Salvador only has 4 Bitcoin ATMs.

It has a great impact on Bitcoin and the price, it's also has a benefit to the government of El Salvador, instead of banning crypto, prohibited exchange, and mining industry why not allowing people and encourage them to use crypto.  This state is a good example among other countries, we hope that every one will follow their steps.

For some reason, I wonder how they will implement tax, I guess not all will be illegible to pay tax for those who used non-custodial wallets, maybe on the custodial wallet which is can be regulated by them.
1925  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum on Android on: August 24, 2021, 10:42:58 PM
It works fine for me and I tried it now to open my Electrum account on my phone which I seldom use it.  I used Huawei Nova 2 lite which is very cheap and affordable and it works fine and has no lag I encountered.

I admitted that Electrum mobile phone app is prone to hack and now this is a target of hackers because our phone was easy to get malware infection.  I recommend using your laptop or PC for a version of the Electrum app, it could be safer than the wallet app.

I discover that don't create your Electrum wallet on a mobile phone because it's possible that your recovery seed was in there and easily to compromise, you can import your seed to your mobile app that originally created on the desktop which is I presume it's safe than using a mobile phone.
1926  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Having a wallet on both Windows and Android on: August 23, 2021, 11:59:48 PM
However, I have used Electrum for how many years both PC and mobile and I don't have any problem.  I store only a small amount and I confidently recommend it's safe as long as your device isn't compromised or infected by malware.

If anyone knows how to use Electrum in a safe way, then even a hot wallet can be a relatively safe option - but we all know that few verify the file before installation, and that many have fallen victim to what happened in late 2018. I’m not claiming that something similar will happen again, but I’m sure hackers aren’t resting knowing it’s one of the most popular crypto wallets and I’m sure they’re looking for any new vulnerabilities.
Yeah, it's still fresh to remember that time that I even almost fall to them, a good thing I always head up to the official site upon updating an Electrum app on my device.  IIRC, it was a huge Bitcoin that has been a steal at that time, and most commonly newbies are the victims, it seems to be true, in your app there's a pop-up message and looks like an official message of Electrum says, update you Electrum to the new version and the URL link leads you to the phishing link.  I don't know how the hackers use their own server and connected to the Electrum users at that time.

Lesson to learn, always use an official website and verify first before hitting the download button.
1927  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Only good coins survive the dip on: August 23, 2021, 11:46:55 PM
The phrase buy the dip is only a good advice when you apply it properly by buying the very good altcoins whose value is only down because of the bearish market condition. Because it is not all coins that dip that would recover their value.

Its correct, not all coins could recover their value because some of them could be dying before next bull seasons happen, the community really takes part to maintain the position of its project on the market, because i see Pirl which lacked support of its community fall down because lack of volume trading and ends up become delisting on many exchanges.
It might depend on the project's status if they are actively having progress there might a chance that they will pump too, or a project that has a real use or has a real product, they will also pump the same as Bitcoin does and the last one has the full support of the community and yes, you're right, that's the sign that it is a good project to hold.

But if I were you, invest in the top 5 high volume altcoins on the Coin market cap if you really don't risk too much, because picking a new project that launched is a very crucial part, you don't know the legitimacy because anytime the developer will abandon the project and that is it will become a s shitcoin which means no value on the exchange.
1928  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accepting bitcoin as payment for my business on: August 23, 2021, 11:33:38 PM
This is very common now that there are small merchants online or either offline accepting Bitcoin as payment because it might they saw the advantage on it and IMO, the number one reason is that security, followed by fraud prevention such as chargeback and the low fees as long as the business owner knows how to apply Lightning Network per transaction, it's suitable for the micro-transactions.

I also think about if OP will use a payment processor for this so that he can accept Bitcoin that comes from exchange using fiat.

Anyway, congrats OP for your business, I also think about my business accepting Bitcoin soon but this isn't about the clothing industry.
1929  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How weird is it to borrow money and invest into Bitcoin? on: August 23, 2021, 10:56:27 PM
How weird?  It's a risk not weird.

IMO, borrowing money just to invest in a crypto isn't a good idea, we shouldn't gamble the money that we couldn't afford to lose, it could be a double-edged sword that may hurt your pocket when you can't pay the interest because it isn't the right time yet to sell your Bitcoin.
It's up to you now, at least we warned you about this, if you're willing to risk any amount for your lender, why not.

How many times I experienced this, every time I borrowed Bitcoin, right after several months the price had too much increase.  It's good if you invest fiat if a scenario like this, but if not, the chances of getting a loss are potential will happen.
1930  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BetBTC Sportsbook is shutting down. Please withdraw the funds before 1/Sept/2021 on: August 22, 2021, 04:53:26 PM
Although seems they have good intention to return funds, but estimated withdrawal time is short in case of shut down the platform permanently. Some people would be busy or didn't notice regarding closing the platform.
You have a point about this but I think the announcement was also expanded on their email address that linked to their account.
I don't have an account on this gambling sportsbook but after checking on the site there's a register button and they required an email address upon account creation so I think their users will be notified through their email address used.

It might be good also if they will manually checking each account that has a balance and contact users through their email account provided.  That's right 1-month time frame is good enough compared to 15 days.  But I think BetBTC is already aware of this issue since it was discussed on their ANN thread and many members here had the same suggestion.
1931  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Having a wallet on both Windows and Android on: August 22, 2021, 04:32:00 PM
Yes, I have just ordered a Trezor cold wallet and will put the bulk there.

Don’t be fooled by the idea that Trezor is a cold wallet, because any crypto wallet that connects to the internet at some point can’t be in that category. If you want a real cold wallet, then get yourself a computer just for that purpose, make sure that there is no way to access the Internet and if you do everything right, such a wallet will be safer than any hardware wallet.
I tend to agree and that should a hardware wallet must be air-gapped for the security purpose, the device or the system that you use for example your personal computer, laptop, and netbook should be fully disconnected from the internet or any networks, or any connected devices that could protect your wallet from any possible hacking.  It's always prone to hack a device that is exposed always on the internet.

However, I have used Electrum for how many years both PC and mobile and I don't have any problem.  I store only a small amount and I confidently recommend it's safe as long as your device isn't compromised or infected by malware.  And follow the suggestion above, create a watch-only wallet for the monitoring of your Bitcoin weekly or monthly.
1932  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [GUIDE] Position Size on: August 22, 2021, 02:28:10 PM
It's well said, ain't good in actual trading but I understand how to make theories like this, to be honest, it's easy to say but it's hard to apply those strategies we had.

In 1% risk is enough for experts and even new in the trading field, this is how accurately measure your trading risk management if that will exceed 1%, it could be wiped out your entire capital and possibly it's hard to recover your loss when you encounter a long streak of loss.

Therefore, IMO, risk management, and stop-loss are very important in trading, it seems you're playing safe but it has a great potential of making money even though it's a small profit return.
1933  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it possible to make $5,000 a month day trading? on: August 22, 2021, 01:51:37 PM
Possible, but there's no guarantee that you will easily make money in trading, you might face different consequences and remember always how to handle risk or manage risk in trading that usually newcomers don't have.

I don't know how good you are in trading because you didn't tell us above, this also varies on your skills and knowledge in trading.  Because there are too many ways or strategies of making a profit (or losing profit) in trading.  But before you will start, please consider this advice as to your first step in trading, or either you've your own research in the first place.

  • Pick a good exchange trading platform that suits you as a newbie or expert.
  • Find a good source of information regarding trading and start your Fundamental and Technical analysis.
  • Look pattern and create your own forecast upon predicting the market.
  • Use advance tools that can help you in trading.
  • Risk Management.
  • Portfolio Management.
  • Set a trading plan and stick to it.
  • Target profit, avoid being greedy.
1934  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin dominance TA - Switch to BTC soon? on: August 21, 2021, 11:59:52 PM
Why do we always doubt Bitcoin?

If you feel that there's an altcoin that potential to hold then, extend your portfolio but never give up Bitcoin or switching it to altcoins.
Hold Bitcoin long as you can, Bitcoin price will always surprise us by having a strong dominance these days and I think there's no reason we doubt Bitcoin, besides, what altcoins do you planning to switch?  It seems they are all swinging price the same as the Bitcoin price movement.

Anyway, I suggest you have your own research and don't rely upon other's opinions, that's your money to risk not them.
1935  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BetBTC Sportsbook is shutting down. Please withdraw the funds before 1/Sept/2021 on: August 21, 2021, 11:44:17 PM
I do not like casinos and do not encourage people to invest them but are the two weeks without giving a way to communicate with support team is good? in common cases the site mostly shut down a month or two and then the door is left to connect with support team for 6 months.
But overall, they are still good because they give warning to their users that they will refund their money rather than becomes an exit scam.
I saw few gambling sites that have officially closed and don't have a problem.  IIRC, YOLOdice is one of them.

Quote
I also read that they have a 1mBTC minimum withdrawal, Therefore, many may not succeed in withdrawing those amounts.
I think they shouldn't do that since it's already stated here.

All funds are safe, and there are no reasons to worry - We will pay every last satoshi in credits.
1936  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Share your costly lesson about cryptocurrency.. on: August 21, 2021, 11:09:28 PM
As early comments on this thread, it is related to trading which is all of us was experienced.

Days back when I was a newbie in trading, I was curious about trading and how to earn it, I thought that was so easy to gain profit but the fact is not.
Purchasing a lot of shit altcoins and hoping it will grow but unfortunately, it becomes totally shitcoin that doesn't have value and some are delisted in the market, it goes the same as the OP story.  And after that, I stopped trading and was better to hold for a long term, and sometimes doing spot trading is much better.

The costly lesson, don't enter the trading world if you don't have knowledge.

Another, when I was a newbie I'm searching for a Token wallet since I'm joining the bounty campaign before, unfortunately, I found a Bitcoin wallet namely Freewallet.org.  I never thought that I will encounter a problem in the future and until now.

As always, be knowledgeable enough in crypto and you will be fine.
1937  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Stuck transaction fee’s too low on: August 20, 2021, 11:57:54 PM
That's why if we are in hurry, we should always check the Mempool space and give a higher fee to the required amount on the mempool space fee.  But most likely, 24 hours is too long if you choose the required amount.

Here is how you calculate the fee and the time it will confirm, through this tool you can figure out how much the fee is and at what exact time it will be confirmed.

For example, your fee is at 4sat/vbyte, and it will confirm in an estimated time of 600 minutes.  So it could be 10 hours if you convert it into an hour, so wait until 10 hours from the time you transacted that transaction, keep in mind that this is only an estimation time.

I don't know how this Bitcoin accelerator accurate is but usually, I use them, and since ViaBTC will not accelerate your transaction because it is below 10 sats/vbytes.
1938  Other / Meta / Re: [LOG] The ranked up members - Congratulations! on: August 20, 2021, 11:35:01 PM
This day has come earlier than you expected. Now you have 100 merits and can wear an avatar. Congrats!
Ha ha....it feels good to help someone cross that threshold to get to the next rank, doesn't it?

Congratulations to all the newly ranked up members.
It's my pleasure that I'm a part of it.  Kinda I'm speechless but thank you.

Ranking up is a feeling of joy which cannot be expressed in the words. Its a memorable moment for me  Smiley
This is what I felt now, I can't express the words but all I say is thank you.

@Coin-1, thank you for this thread that you keep updating, at the same time @DdmrDdmr's Bitcointalk Merit Dashboard thread as well.
1939  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why I'd prefer to be forex trader of my own on: August 20, 2021, 11:18:47 PM
I prefer to learn how to trade myself because most forex academy I don't know there foundation if they are legit, anything can happen.
Unfortunately, you're here in the crypto trading discussion forum and all we discussed here was more related to crypto.

It's up to you if where you're comfortable to trade, there are some traders who are now switching to cryptocurrency because they know that the volatility will give them a chance to potentially gained profit if you know how to the strategies and analysis on it.  High volatility is equal to high profit nor losses if you don't know about it while forex was slow volatility and possible slow progress profit or commonly it will take time before you have a profit.  But it seems there you are in a comfort zone and you think it's profitable to you, just go ahead and enjoy those profits you have in forex.

...There are countless forex academy who claim to do perfect trading for people to deliver profits. ...
I never trade Forex and never learn about it.
But I am curious about this statement.
Is it true that there is "There are countless forex academy who claim to do perfect trading for people to deliver profits" as you said?
Just also curious about this, is this a win-win situation?
Please OP, give more info.
1940  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be more effective in the future on: August 17, 2021, 11:39:07 PM
The leaders in the future will give us a brighter and more efficient path for the market and Bitcoin, I am quite sure that Bitcoin will be legalized in all nations, and I am 100% sure that Bitcoin will be fully recognized and be given priority of for the citizens, as much as effective Bitcoin is now, I can only imagine how big of a deal it is in the future, more influencers, more investors, more everything!
I wish they could look into that point and not just focus on how to control crypto and impose taxes for all the holders. Because for now, what we've seen is that they are more interested in how to take control of Bitcoin, and as this was a huge market, they will think that they could somehow make a huge benefit from this once it falls into their hands.
We can't hide the fact that this is all about money and it was too hard to legalize by the government if they couldn't get any from them like tax and others.
It's a government that has always been a barrier to Bitcoin becomes legalized and recognized in every country.  We know that the government has been always combating fraud and illegal activities inside and out in a country and cryptocurrencies are prone to use by those fraudsters.  Possible also government thinks that Bitcoin is a threat to the financial economy system or in the banking system which they don't allow it or else the reason why they are trying to control it.

But aside from that, let's hope that they are also open-minded like what El Salvador country did.  For now, let them be, whatever will be, will be, the future's not ours to see. (Que sera, sera)
