If I am understanding this correctly there assholes are getting CREAMED, and i hope a lot of them are going broke.  Because these are the assholes that are trying to do the hedge fund part of the gamestop move on the CORN, and it makes me delighted to know they are being murdered.

37750 is the next place to bust through i think...

You see it don't you? Not everyone does.  I figure MOST of us WO folks do...  Crazy.  We are STILL so early.

It's about to get so crazy.

El Salvador has volunteered to be the first country to go live in PRODUCTION with the lightning network.  They will be richly rewarded for this.

I think those laser eyes are so silly...  But I almost want to put them on all my images now.

a miserable BSV shill can pick something like, say, 33,333,

Looks like I was too Bullish!

Lol.  Same here...

But you have way better chances of seing your prediction hit than I do.  Still there are 12 days... lots of things can happen!

I’m all in and all of it is in cold storage

That is the way…

This is investment advice

Cheers

Been that way for years.

Not your keys not your coins. Create your own offline addresses. Even hardware wallets can be compromised.

Quoted for truth.  It is a thing of beauty to set up a simple watch only wallet on your PC based from a seed generated safely.

It's those last 3 words that are the tricky bit though.
1946  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 08, 2021, 07:04:01 PM
I seriously hope the price goes down long enough for El Salvador to buy a shitload of bitcoins for their reserve.

Then the price goes back over ATH and all other countries cry that they missed the boat.

Everyone ALWAYS think they missed the boat.  Everyone has been wrong, so far.

Even though atm u b seeming very, very, very ccccciiiiiiiittttttttteeeeeetm... not safe to keep too many of your lil screwie thing-i-ma-jiggies in one spotty (speaking of doggies).

#just saying

You got to have them all in one place when you are setting up multi-sig wallets...

Either that or have a ridiculously good memory? Wink

The reason I have more than one is to geolocate them across space.  But you got to spend a minute with 'em to gem 'em all their marching orders.

https://www.seattlepi.com/news/article/Down-Under-criminals-tricked-into-using-FBI-run-16231906.php

"
THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — Criminal gangs divulged plans for moving drug shipments and carrying out killings on a messaging app secretly run by the FBI, law enforcement agencies said Tuesday, as they unveiled a global sting operation they said dealt an “unprecedented blow” to organized crime in countries around the world.

The operation known as Trojan Shield led to police raids in 16 nations. More than 800 suspects were arrested and more than 32 tons of drugs — including cocaine, cannabis, amphetamines and methamphetamines — were seized along with 250 firearms, 55 luxury cars and more than $148 million in cash and cryptocurrencies.
"

Could be one of the methods used to get back the pipeline ransom coins..

Some criminals are idiots eh,... why couldn't they use any other messaging app, like Signal, .... or there are plenty others out there, as well as GPG (but then they'd need to use email maybe.)

GPG is too hard for 90%, but it is THE way.  Same exact attack vectors as bitcoin, really... as in none except for a compromised machine, and social attacks.
1949  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 08, 2021, 05:53:47 PM
We really do have a mega H&S forming on the daily. Looks horrid and everyone can see it and is probably trading it.

100% confirmed

The shorters whom getting rekt will be biblical

Seriously.  I was expecting this dump.. it looked planned to me.

They GOTTA be getting just a little bit edgy at this point.

How long till the southern half of the eastern hemisphere starts lighting up?? I give it under a week.

Super Bullish.  Hedgeye more sophisticated than Schiff or Krugman, but just about as reliable a inverse indicator.

DON'T PANIC ON THE TITANIC
because Wyckoff.

Damn.  I know very little about Wycoff, and have always sort of thought it was even more voodoo than even the impulse wave stuff... but I have never seen a better match than that.  Damn.  It's like a blueprint.

It's been over 10 years, but it's wild to finally see the confirmed end of bitcoin play out in real time. What should we do now?

Seriously.  This might be your best work yet.  I mean it.  I wish I could figure out how to reduce it to a tag line for my profile to replace the last one I got from you. Wink

Any ideas?

"It's over... it's finally over."

"Hard to believe: The end of bitcoin."

"In the east, we see the sun finally setting on Bitcoin."

Hmm, last one is too long for sure.

It's been over 10 years, but it's wild to finally see the confirmed end of bitcoin play out in real time. What should we do now?

The end of the western central banks perhaps, but it's still just the beginning for Bitcoin.

PS: I could add laser eyes, but afraid it would burn humanity out of existence.

Nice summary.  Spot on.
1954  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 08, 2021, 05:09:55 PM
Just sitting here doing a little multisig build with my jaw repeatedly hitting the floor as political leaders ALL OVER Central and South America are putting laser eyes in their twitter profiles.

This is UNREAL.

I *LOOOOVE* that we are in the middle of an attack on price (I say it because of the short interest that cropped up etc).  I betcha we see that attack simmer down pretty quick now because the people doing it must be about to shit their pants.  Because if they don't close out of all that stuff they stand to get caught in a pretty epic short-squeeze.  In fact it's a catch-22.  If some of them get cold feet.  But who knows?  The wallets I am making are not for selling to Michael Saylor, that's for sure, lol...

I think we COULD see one more capitulation event?  But how on EARTH does this keep going down?

1955  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 08, 2021, 12:14:40 AM
I'm thinking that the president is moving ahead so quickly with the Bitcoin legislation that the US likely will not have time to react in time.

As governments tend to do, they will put together meetings, try to come up with their strategy, they'll make phone calls to gather information that we already know but will take them longer to figure out.

If El Salvador pulls it off in a week or so then it will happen.

If they get bogged down in the processes like the US government then it will likely be stopped.

This is certainly a risk.  I was thinking this too.  Particularly since the CIA could have time to pay someone a visit etc...

But I think the end game is a done deal.  Their people are not going to stop using it.  And if the US (or bildebergers, or soros, or musk or martians?) shuts them down The might use it even more.

This is unstoppable at this point I think.

All the developed countries can have a real impact on is their own economies, or lack thereof because of being laggards.

El Salvador is adopting Lightning Network. Will this be the kick-off of layer 2?

70% has no bank acount, few million working in the U.S, this will give their remittance market a major boost.

Impressive and mind blowing. The world will finally realize the awesomeness Bitcoin can offer, this is just the beginning.

Those shitcoiners in total disbelieve and so butthurted they running around like headless chickens, fck them all!

This sounds like big news. I just hope LN won't collapse under such a heavy load as an entire country officially adopting it. I'm in favor of LN, but from the few things I've read about it over the years, I get a bittersweet feeling, like it's not yet a polished protocol. I hope I'm wrong and it passes the test with flying colors.

Lots of good news lately, not yet reflected in the price. I'm sensing a massive UPpity move in the coming weeks.

I was about to come post here to say that the lightning network is about to get it's "kicked the hornets nest, and the swarm is headed towards us." moment.

But the Salvadorians have already been using it.  They are not getting stated.  They are USING it.  It's why the president is making it legal tender.  I am sure use will go up in El Salvador, but where we are going to see the load is coming in from Paraguay, Columbia, Venezuela, Mexico, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, India and all the other countries that either do tons of remittance or have a majorly effed up currency or both.

But as to what you've read about the lightning network etc.  Have you used it much?  I have done a lot of use of it both as nodes and from wallets.  You are right it's not polished.  But it works pretty damn good.  Better than Bitcoin in the day.  That's the crazy part.  The settlement is INSTANT.  When it hits your wallet the transaction is OVER. And the fees are still fractions of a cent usually.  And it is rare that I cannot get a payment to go through.

The reality is users who come into custodial wallets benefit from the trusted pool they are in.  I think this is why Wallet of Satoshi is so popular in E.S.  If you and me both use it and I want to send you money?  There is no chance of it failing really.  Even the non custodial good UX wallets like Breez, Phoenix, and Muun will work this way too since those services default you to their super connected node.  So they work 99.9% of the time too.  It really is when Joe with his own node with 6 channels, and Frank with the same thing want to trade and they either can't find a path to each other, or the fees on the route they can find are kind of high.

But that's not going to be lots of people.

I think where we have the most risk is these centralized, and semi-centralized wallets can become targets, or points of failure.  WoS type wallets in particular.  They are an unregulated bank basically if I understand it correctly.

Can you imagine what is coming if these lightning wallets actually work as we expect them to?  If people can use the most pristine asset the world has ever know transactionally, and basically skip over all other payment networks  Katie bar the effing door.

I almost can't believe it, but it's not just Western Union that should be worried right now.  (It's too late for them to worry... they make buggy whips)

It's Visa.  I did not see that coming.  But it just might be.
1957  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Taproot proposal on: June 07, 2021, 04:44:06 PM
We have proven that not only can the network be upgraded, but it can be done in a clear, orderly, quick fashion!
To be fair we had proven this half a dozen times (maybe more) before the 2017 fork when each upgrade went through smoothly and without any drama or at least very little. BIP16, BIP34, BIP65, BIP66, BIP112 are some of these soft forks that I can think of.

so because taproot devs are not playing these flip flop false promise backstabbing games this year. they are not getting any drama towards taproot
Wrong. The lack of "drama" is simply because unlike 2017 there is nothing to be gained from that drama. For example there is no shitcoin like bcash to be created to make money.

Very valid.  Yet I still think it is good, especially for the users who are not as keen about the details of past BIPs as well as development in general needed *this* particular upgrade to go smoothly.  I think it was palpably still tentative feeling out there because of all the drama in 2017.

Seems we are going to be dragging the shitcoins behind us possibly indefinitely, but it's becoming more and more dangerous for them to try to get in front of us.  The weight and momentum of Bitcoin is greater than it was a few years ago.

The other thing is... the more of him there are the harder it will be for the USGov to attack bitcoin without hurting lot's of private investors.  It is starting to imbed itself into world markets in a way that you won't be able to kill it without taking the host out with it.  And it's starting to look like the host is potentially the world economy.

I still think that this (using a publicly-traded corp to pump Bitcoin) is the worst way to "imbed [sic] itself". There is zero actual utility in MSTR owning a bunch of Bitcoin, other than possibly skirting SEC (non)approval of Bitcoin ETFs and that can only end in tears.

Bitcoin should be quietly replacing SWIFT/ACH/all that other interbank clearing house shit. Or payment systems - perhaps not replace Visa et al because muggles love their plastic cards, but in the backend/settlements. Now that would be something that's extremely unlikely to be unraveled by a government.

I agree.  The whole MSTR thing makes me a little itchy.  But at the same time it is a legit play.  He is literally running the "speculative attack" described by Pierre Rochard the better part of a decade ago now.  https://nakamotoinstitute.org/mempool/speculative-attack/

And Bitcoin is a complex thing in the way it is going to weave itself into economies.  Saylor is playing the role of the new George Soros as basically 90% speculator, and 10% educator.  And I think we cannot overlook that second part.  We all feel itchy about Musk and that Mining whatever it was... but Saylor is actively trying to steer potential derails like that in a direction that does not harm BTC.  And that is valuable. A lot of this falls into the bucket of "Necessary Evil" for me.

Now at the same time some millennial Latin American president sees a way to carve his name deeply into history and enrich his country.  So he is doing what he thinks will help him.

That's just it...  human nature is full of yuck, in my opinion.  And bitcoin is built in a way that will harness the energy of all these actors who's main objective is to enrich themselves somehow towards something that betters mankind.

It is literally the intellectual child of pure capitalism.

I think it's gonna work. Wink
1960  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 07, 2021, 01:53:47 PM
Saylor is relentless, I hope he’s as honest & committed as he seems.

He is taking a pretty big risk.  It would take some pretty deep conspiracy theory to really attribute something nefarious here.

That said, we all are sort of tied to him in a way... if he dies, well... we do to.

This is a virus unlike anything we have ever seen before.
