1961  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still have thoughts of picking Gold over Bitcoin, read this. on: August 10, 2021, 11:59:07 PM
No doubt Bitcoin is a good investment as gold even though both are the same profitable for various reasons if we compare them both.  But each of us as potential investors of these two good assets might have a different perspective view upon investing, for those people who are not much techy enough might prefer gold, and those who understand Bitcoin very well and how does it will work will also be considering Bitcoin as a great investment than gold.

Bitcoin will always surpass gold because they had different characteristics and they aren't the same.  When it comes to the supply, Bitcoin has an advantage in the long run because it has a fixed amount of supply while gold wasn't.

Both investments have their advantages and disadvantages.
That's right, they are like a coin that has different faces.
1962  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk Makes Meme Coins, What Do You Think? on: August 10, 2021, 11:40:25 PM
but if it's just a coin meme, it won't have much impact and become a useless coin.
Why useless? Elon Musk can promote it with his tweets, right? Then, the price of the coin will increase quickly like Dogecoin. Although it is a meme coin, I guess it will become a big coin. However, it is very unfortunate if someone like Elon Musk creates a meme coin. He has a chance to use a more useful coin. Since he has a Tesla company, why doesn't he create a Tesla coin? This coin should be great, moreover if the coin can be used to buy Tesla car.
If there's no real use and it's for the sole purpose of meme coin it potentially becomes useless without him.  I thought he has made already a coin, is Eloncoin isn't him?  If the coin was made in a pure hype there's no way that the coin will survive in a long run, maybe it's profitable in a short period of time, and every time when he tweeted in as we know how very influential he is.

This is very common to them who will become an influencer, they use their power to achieve that level and once they are there, the truth is they have a hidden agenda.  Right after making a huge noise towards crypto and made it pump, later on, they made their own coin.
1963  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to keep Bitcoin while getting benefits on: August 10, 2021, 11:29:24 PM
There's no way to keep your Bitcoin while getting benefits without selling on it if you got a loan and your Bitcoin use as collateral, there could be a chance that your Bitcoin will sell at a lower price to pay your loan if you cant able find the cash to pay it.  There's no way is to have a risk on it, it could be you are a lender, trader, staking and etc. that has a form of gambling that uses your Bitcoin with the return of Bitcoin itself.

But as I said, all of these have a risk, it might you will earn or lose a small percentage of your holding.  I prefer not to bother myself with all of this if I can hold my Bitcoin in a long run and wait until it grow the price.
1964  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies Work To Learn And Not To Earn. on: August 10, 2021, 10:59:21 PM
Unfortunately, most newbie users that got introduced to the platform are always invited on the bases of coming to earn some bitcoin or altcoin of value. Its true that, this is possible here but, is that really the essence of the forum, is that a there is to know, earn, earn and earn! After all the earnings then what?
I tend to agree with this, as we saw there are a bunch of threads here that come from newbies asking how they will earn and also ask how they will rank.  So it might they are here got introduced to the platform with the essence of making money knowing the fact that forum is a house of discussion regarding crypto-related stuff and most especially focus on Bitcoin.

That's why as a senior to them we are here to guide them and change the motive and reason why they're here.  More reading and learn and then becomes an established member and the last part earning isn't that hard.  However, I admire non-signature wearer users especially our brothers and sisters on the WO thread, they are here for speculation and discussion on Bitcoin nothing else.
1965  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Calculator check how much my Bitcoin would be worth on: August 10, 2021, 10:47:05 PM
To @OP:

what you're looking for is something simple to make yourself by using a spreadsheet. You would just need to manually enter the Bitcoin value and have the result calculated automatically
Thanks I was hoping that a service already existed but I can do it manually with a spreadsheet. I have been doing it manually without a spreadsheet which is hard work.
The spreadsheet won't automatically update as what you are looking for, it also wastes your time keep updating your portfolio instead of having a research and it might be this tool that you are looking for, Blockfiolio app, or website.  You can trace and track your coin at an accurate rate through any exchanges that you want and it has already given what currency value you need to know.

AFAIK, all Bitcoin wallets have this feature even Electrum (app), you can simply set in your own currency and when you click your balance it appears the amount value in your local currency which means, auto updated.
1966  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reading is more important than replying on: August 09, 2021, 11:39:12 PM
I noticed you around and yes, you're not a bad poster and soon you deserve to rank up, just keep your goal and keep it up, one day you will be there.

This was what I always advise on newbies here that most likely asking how to earn merit, they need more time to read and study first before posting so that they will learn and contribute something knowledgeable information, it also can avoid having a spam reply.

You need to be selective with what you read. If you were to read every single post in every single thread that you see, you would waste a ton of time without learning anything, because there's so many low value posts, repetitive posts, unimportant topics, etc. Every beginner should start with reading a good book about the basics of Bitcoin technology, get some knowledge of cryptography so that they could start answering people's questions.
I tend to agree with this, don't rely on a single source or in the forum itself, you need to explore other sources like reading cryptocurrency books and videos that have explained very well every detail that we wanted to learn most especially in trading, it's very crucial.

For now, you're a great example for the newbies out there to motivate them and do the same with you.
1967  Other / Meta / Re: Banned Displaying signature. on: August 09, 2021, 05:18:40 PM
The decision has likely been made to not allow the user to join signature campaigns.

I am not aware of anyone successfully participating in an avatar campaign that is banned from wearing a signature, so I don't think this is a pressing issue.
It makes sense now and it has totally enlightened my confusion regarding this.
The banned was effective only for not wearing signature but they can still wear avatar on their profile which means they can still advertise what they want.

This allows users to keep getting scammed and more victim if ignored. Negative tag and flag will not cause the user to remove the signature and avatar from the scam site. I firmly believe that account used in such campaign simply want to be paid without consideration to prevent scam on this forum. This means the account support scammer to get more victim.
I think red-tagged under profile name is enough for users to avoid not to get scam and all their participants have negative tags as a warning to anyone that they are precautious.  I don't know how effective in advertising if a banned user wearing an avatar since it isn't clickable for any link not unlike the signature code in our profile.  So, let them be.

And this is enough sign to avoid them.
1968  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BNB smart chain transfer help on: August 09, 2021, 04:43:23 PM
If they say so, your $400 already loss and can't be recover by you. However, in logical they can get your money by enter the private key of the company address to any wallet that support ERC20. Because BEP2 and ERC20 has same address and same private key, but it's just run in different smart contract.

What private key do you found? If it's your address you can't access your BNB.

Ok, thanks. I just e-mailed the company. Hopefully they can help me out.     The Private key I found was my own address. That makes sense. I was wondering how I had access to the private key. Cause that would mean if I made a transaction to pay somebody, and I could back out of it which shouldn't be allowed.
Hey @doug2123, good thing that you have access to your private key and it means the chances of recovering your fund into other wallets that supported both networks (BEP-20 and ERC-20) wallet is quite high.

I think it is better to read this article made by Binance to avoid that confusion by next time and on How to Recover Crypto Transferred to the Wrong Network on Binance.

Use Trust wallet or Metamask wallet since they are both supported both networks. (BEP-20 and ERC-20)
1969  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Transferred ETH from Binance to Blockchain wallet through BSC accidently, funds on: August 09, 2021, 04:30:05 PM
What BSC wallet that you have used?

If you're not the one who made the transaction, I have doubted that you have stalled a scam Ethereum wallet or a fake one.  You have been compromised by installing a fake wallet.  Sorry to tell you this but if you don't have control over the recipient address, you have been scammed and it is impossible to recover as we know cryptocurrency transactions are irreversable.

The post above was right, I traced where the transaction goes down and it seems the hacker was sent the token to the Open Ocean exchange and swap your Ethereum into other altcoins.

Sorry for your loss but I think you need to move on and learn from this mistake, verify first the wallet that you wanted to use.
1970  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is there any platform that allows buying of crypto with a cheque? on: August 09, 2021, 12:28:45 AM
In addition to what was suggested above.
Check these links and might help your problem.

Additionally, try also to check the CEX.IO exchange it has a low transaction fee compared to those exchanges mentioned above.
1971  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to stay safe from scam cryptocurrency app. on: August 08, 2021, 11:59:08 PM
1. Only install apps from the App Store that have been approved.
No, I totally disagree with this.
If the app is on Google play store or an App store it doesn't mean this is a legit/authentic app, Google will remove the fraudulent app before there some more people reporting it, which means fraudulent can be still published without knowing by Google play store and even legit one will hardly to approve depend on the various reason.

The best thing that you can do to avoid when especially downloading Bitcoin wallet app or other crypto is always heads up on the official website.  And if you are downloading it from the play store and here is your most thing to do.
  • Check who is the Publisher
  • Check the app published date
  • Check the user's review
  • Check the correct spelling, is a must

DYOR will always save you from fraudulent activities.
1972  Other / Meta / Re: Banned Displaying signature. on: August 08, 2021, 11:45:04 PM
I have a little confusion, to be honest, if that user had been banned from wearing signature (presumably also ban wearing avatar), my question is how that user wore the scam gambling site avatar in the first place or the banned restriction was for the signature only not include the avatar and they still can modify it to wear avatar, if so, they can still promote whatever they want even though they are ban wearing signature.

I'm waiting for the moderator who clarifies this issue and will enlighten my mind here.

..the final answer has always been que sera, sera (whatever will be, will be):
My grandma's fav song, lol, but you're right.
1973  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin the most Bullish crypto of the moment on: August 08, 2021, 03:58:07 PM
This proved that Bitcoin is the most profitable crypto coin in the entire cryptocurrency and probably holders are now switching their portfolio into Bitcoin investment instead of altcoins.  At this short period of time, we witnessed that only Bitcoin has the potential of making a profit and less risk among other altcoins.

As commonly we see, altcoins will follow the trend of Bitcoin but now it's quite different, altcoins seem to have a downtrend position while Bitcoin remained in the $40k price range.  But I suggest you not look at the market price every hour, day, week or month.  Bitcoin is good for long-term investment and it could be doubled the price of your capital.

Seeing the situation of the market like this and you're being paranoid checking it always might be a cause of panic selling.  Just hold and aim a better profit on it.
1974  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The regulation of the cryptocurrency market will become more serious on: August 08, 2021, 02:28:44 PM
"In my view, the legislative priority should center on crypto trading, lending, and DeFi platforms”

....How do you interpret the  sentences?
It's just because governments want to fight their right as a guardian of the financial sector.  Since it's noticeable the recent pump of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies price, the governments want to heavily regulate those legally operate services that involved and related to the financial business that government will take their part that as much as possible, crypto users should be able to pay their income tax.  It might be this is the reason why the Binance exchange platform has had a bunch of changes recently and it's obviously related to the government's regulations.  But despite this heavy regulation by the governments towards the crypto market sector, but the rise of cryptocurrencies remains a challenge.

Quote
"For those who want to encourage innovations in crypto, I’d like to note that financial innovations throughout history don’t long thrive outside of our public policy frameworks.”
Fun fact, Cryptocurrencies will still exist even though how they are trying hard to regulate them.  There are too many ways to avoid regulations and let's continue the decentralized nature of cryptocurrency.  It's all about financial freedom.
1975  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam] Phishing Exodus Wallet website on: August 08, 2021, 01:41:02 PM
Thanks for the heads up and it gives a warning to the newcomers in the crypto space for those who are here.  Regarding the phishing site, I think it's already shut down because I can't able to access it.  We must avoid using the Google search engine as always and yes, bookmarked it once you are already accessed the site.

Where did you find this phishing site?  It's really fresh made and it was 2 days ago.
It's really smart for those scammers nowadays, they are willing to spend a small amount of their money just for the SSL certificate that looks like their phishing website seeing real one at the first glance and if someone didn't familiar with the domain name for sure they will fall on their trap.  And if you have research that is similar to those similar Exodus Websites, here on this link, there are a bunch of Exodus websites that are available to purchase.  Is it possible scammers will purchase it for scamming purposes?
1976  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Signal trap, a self-conscious scam on: August 07, 2021, 11:59:31 PM
I've joined once before when I was new in trading but I'm much more oriented here in the forum more about the signal group that they aren't good to trust either it is a free or paid signal group, they are kind of a trap to new traders.  The organizer of the group or the leader will get more benefit on this so I don't think if it is worth it to join this pump and dump group.

Thank you for sharing your idea, this will give warning the newbies that either the paid or more worst the free signal group aren't worth it join, members will always have late information during the price forecast.

There might no a victim of a trap like this if every one of us already warned about their strategies and how the pump and dump group will work, much better if we avoid them as much as possible and instead do our own research and bear in mind that trading isn't easy of making money.
1977  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Where to find any good CRYPTO copy trading platforms? on: August 07, 2021, 11:18:05 PM
I would like to know if there are any good crypto social trading platforms out there for me to copy the trades of experienced traders so that I can earn profits easily ?
Hello there, you can simply use the Google search engine if you want to explore more about which best copy trading platform.  There are too many of them right now but you need to be careful in choosing the right one, do your own research, and don't rely upon suggestions from others.

Trading isn't an easy way that you can earn a profit, you can make money or it will lose you money from copy trading.  Because if you don't know how to choose a trader to copy, there might a chance you will lose your money on it.

Quote
I am slowing learning more about trading and hope to be a good trader one day
If you don't know yet, just study and learn how to trade, there's a demo trading that you can practice and keep practice until you will learn, and if you are going to ask what trading platform is that, that is the Etoro exchange platform.  Just do your own research now.
1978  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bullish News!!! on: August 06, 2021, 12:08:39 AM
I heard this news last few months ago that Google and Apple pay has a partnership with Coinbase, but it doesn't mean Google and Apple directly accept cryptocurrencies.  The fact is Coinbase will convert cryptocurrencies into fiat to make them legal tender, so they only accept USD with the help of Coinbase.

But anyway, that is great news and in fact, Google now lifting the ban of cryptocurrency ads and putting some limitations on it that only support exchanges and wallets, ICOs not included.

What do you think about this and your speculation about bullish matter.
There could be an effect but still unpredictable.  Look at now the price on Bitcoin, it was spiking again after a correction.
1979  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What are Monsan or sites that support buying via PayPal? on: August 05, 2021, 11:48:52 PM
I searched in Google on several sites to buy Bitcoin via Paypal, but I found only a few. Can someone point me to a guaranteed site?
Can you also clarify your question of what actually you are looking for?  There are too many ways to buy Bitcoin using Paypal and even in the Paypal platform itself, you can buy Bitcoin.

You can head up to this article.
There are,
  • Coinbase
  • eToro
  • LocalBitcoin
  • xCoins
  • Paxful

..make a thread on "Currency Exchange"
I don't know if there are willing to deal with this, Paypal transactions could be reversible (or file chargeback) which is risky to the Bitcoin seller and even they use escrow still very risky.

Or alternatively, you might read this,

1980  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: I have my key and word phrase, now what on: August 05, 2021, 11:29:49 PM
I suspected that OP used (Blockchain.com) web wallet since there's an Ethereum in it and a small amount of Bitcoin.
The comment above was right, that's the right path how to retrieve your crypto assets but that's only for Bitcoin recovery because Electrum doesn't support storing Ethereum coin, and now, how about your Ethereum?

Try to watch this Youtube video about how Brute-force your online blockchain.info wallet with btcrecover, this might not easy for you, for now, try to remember everything and also your email account that is possibly used for that wallet, it could be one your email accounts associated in your wallet.
