1961  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: VIDEO: The Killing of Satoshi Nakamoto on: April 25, 2020, 01:36:35 PM
Sorry I have to say this but it was a very shameful thing to do especially from somebody of that age, it is one thing to try to promote your project and another to spread false news just to do so, you can promote your Goldcoin but don't make false claims just to do so, if there is any credibility in your project am sure people will find it.
Between you did not exactly explain any killing there except saying shit.
1962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You own a decent amount of Bitcoin, How would you increase it on: April 25, 2020, 12:16:20 PM
Greeting all,

.....I read about many so called Bitcoin Banks, Projects,  who promise you 3% interest annually, simply don't believe in holding your bitcoins in one place for such a long time...

So how would you increase your bitcoins?

Holding your btc won't help you increase it the way you wanted, it will only make it safe for you and if possible increase in value overtime, but if you want to increase btc in satoshi, trading is another way, if you know how or good at it, also lending if you find a legitimate one, Binance is also running a lending program maybe you should check it out and see if it is worth the try, at least you can trust Binance with your investment to some extent unlike other unknown site that can be dangerous.
But I will rather hold
1963  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 26 days to the halving left, what are you expecting? on: April 24, 2020, 05:11:35 AM
i read a piece somewhere were analyst are expecting the price of btc during this halving to go as high as $20k, speculative and a possibility because of the crash in oil, probably some people might want to make a different choice of investment, but with this current situation, will people rush in to invest or they will want to wait for the pandemic crisis to be over and there is normalcy in the economy!
anyways, am just looking forward to halving, hoping for the best and expecting a no rise in price situation.

I guess we could have bet on the buying of more bitcoins Or loads of investment in the cyrpto world if current pandemic wouldnt have been there.

I have gradually started thinking there wont be much difference this halving. I have myself posted earlier that the prices could go sky-rocket but now since the situation is worsening more, the balance just tipped over i believe.

It will stake nearly 9K-10K max if situation kept worsening then lets be ready for big drop.

Yeah the situation would have been much better supposing there were no pandemic to hinder growth in price, unfortunately that's not the case,
although i heard vaccines are available and schedule for testing in the UK and other affected countries,
i think soon the curve will be flatten, people will be out of danger, and things will gradually shape back into normal, economy will slowly recover,
all this will happen after the halving most probably, so maybe price will spike towards end of year, this are just probability, not real facts.

1965  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have a Dream... on: April 24, 2020, 03:59:36 AM
With corruptions inside any government transparency are not possible to happen, if people around them can question everything they are required to provide detailed informations and from that point of views it's impossible for this kind of system to embrace bitcoin. We can say maybe partially bitcoin will be embraced and be one of those alternative currency that can co-exist with any types of acceptable digital money.

Corruption is in every system bro and crypto is not an exception, look around in the crypto space, see how market are being manipulated by the rich few, look at how project are exiting scam, defrauding investors of their investment, hackers and the rest of it all, there is no transparency in both system, in crypto project when you ask some sensitive questions you get a ban hammer irrespective of being an investor or not, at least there is some level of regulations in government system, people feel secured to invest unlike crypto.
if people want a system to be transparent, it will, the ball is in the hand of those in control, none of the system is free of corrupt practice.
1966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Xcard a scam? on: April 23, 2020, 08:55:46 AM
What's happening with Xcard? I participated in this bounty campaign and since months ago now everything seem quiet and no one is talking about the project, is Xcard a scam project or a failed project?

Am also surprise about the long silence of the project,  this was a project with big expectations from the hunters, now their telegram group chat so quite no update for a very long time, but the ceo still insist they are taking their time to find best exchange choice for the project,
I wont say they are scam just yet, only that the development and ieo is taking longer than necessary, but let's hope they are still working on the project from the background.
1967  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Is An STO? on: April 23, 2020, 07:40:53 AM
~

That link is actually a link to a blog post article trying to inform people about STOs and what you mentioned regulations around STOs, its not an advertisement. Exactly for the reason you just mentioned, that STOs and investing in general can be dangerous, it is important to get more information about STOs and regulation, which that article tries to give you.

On your point on what an STO is, I disagree, projects could call themselves an STO but in most cases that would not be true, there is a difference between claiming to be an STO and being an actually STO. Therefore having the information to discern what is all required to be an STO, regulations, company and financial registrations, country specific rules like accreditation is very helpful. A project cant just create a token and be an STO, they will have to follow actual rules like with an IPO or any equity offering. So it would be very helpful for someone who isn't aware of those rules to read an article like that to gain more information what they need to look out for to check whether or not a project claiming to be an STO is actually offering securities and following applicable rules and regulations.

I understand your frustration around all of this, due to the history of ICOs and blockchain projects, that is why information is important!

Couldn't agree with you more, you made some valuable points there about sto that anyone with less knowledge of it should find useful and research on, it is actually not enough for a project to just call themselves an sto project, they have to follow all required procedures to be consider as one, out of the many project presenting themselves as sto, only a handful (if at all there is any) are actually an sto project.
1968  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: the first reason why fraud projects are increasingly rampant? on: April 23, 2020, 06:31:13 AM
Evidently some project don't spend much to have their project running, yet they will demand for such high target to develop a project they may never see the light of they because they will ended up scamming the poor investors and disappear, good thing that this informations are now in the open for all to see, it is no surprise that only few project are genuine, rest are created to cheat and deceive people.
Well that's exactly why there's such thing called white paper or such for the potential investors to review first before giving away their money to the project. The investors should know the thing or understand the project before investing and that a must, that one investor who usually just slacking around will have the consequences although I hope there's better solution to that.

Yeah, how many project have scammed investors even with the most beautiful well written and structured white paper? There are lots of them, having a white paper don't exactly appear to be a guarantee that something good will come out of the project, infact, white paper is not the issue,  the team are, some of the dev team often let their greed get the better of them, money has alot of power if you don't know, if you are not dedicated to the cause, you can easily get carried away with the money you earned for the development of the project.

1971  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: we would have been nothing without Bitcoin and Bitcoin forum on: April 22, 2020, 01:14:20 PM
This forum was created by the founder of btc so it serves as the highest place to get first hand information and assistance from like minded community members, it is a great place to learn and understand about btc and other alternative projects,  although I think if the forum had not been in existence, you would still be something  Wink in your own way,
Nevertheless, it is a good thing we have a place like bitcointalk to assist us in our journey into the crypto space.
1972  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is better than your bank! on: April 22, 2020, 01:00:11 PM
The advantages of banks are still far more greater than what btc can offer as of now, so don't get it twisted, btc is very handy in some ways but not in every aspect, I don't know why people keep trying to make comparison between the two when we know there are several distinctive functions that separate them,
And as for kyc, really why this is an issue when people already passing through such process from childbirth, when you are born, hospitals take your information for record keeping, you go to school same thing,  you apply for a job same thing and the list goes on.
So bank and btc plays different role to better our lives.
1973  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Utility Token on: April 21, 2020, 12:51:56 PM
We have seen a lot of token/coin with the term utility. Everyone come with a shit idea and say the coin will be utilized in this platform, network etc. But how many of them were ever succeeded? Mb8coin is yet to announce that their products can be bought with mb8coin. Lasr time I see they were discussing about accepting half with mb8coin. How can they say like this?
How many utility token/coin you know have real acceptance in their said/promised network? Please share some of them.

I agree with you, I think the term utility is more on theory than in practice, we have so many project that claim their tokens are utility, yet no single usage has been made with the token anywhere, not in their so-called platform or any other platform for that matter,
And what is even more funny is the money raised during this ieo/ico sale where suppose to aid towards the development of this platforms to enable the usability of this coins/tokens, but for some reason all you will get is excuses and promises of given updates soon, so far only few coins/tokens can boast of being a utility.
1974  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think CREDITS (CS) is a very well organized SCAM? on: April 21, 2020, 11:56:45 AM
Eventually, you will know if the project is genuine or not, the only thing that is worrisome is when a user get banned from asking basic questions that anyone who cares about the future of the project should be able to ask, as long a question is right on the cause of the project and not a fud, it shouldn't be enough to ban users,
This are some of the reasons why long term investment in some project is not so advisable, crypto is still very young, lots of things are not properly done, so better to take care while investing.
1975  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DON'T APPEAL TO ANY ONE'S EMOTION on: April 21, 2020, 09:30:19 AM
The catchy part of the teaching was when the few who participated in the airdrop was able to see it through their local fiat currency,  people often believe in things they can see, things put in practice, if not for that little display, many will not show any interest,
It is a good thing you warn them about market fluctuations, better to have full knowledge of what they are involved in than start apportionning blames at the end, most times many people are not too concerned about the technology, only the money aspect.
1976  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ways in which you can promote bitcoin. on: April 21, 2020, 09:08:43 AM
Social media is the most effective way to promote btc or other crypto, as an active social media user with a good number of followers it is very easy to occasionally drop post about btc or make a post about btc on your timeline so that your followers can read and ask questions, social media is very effective, it doesn't require any special skills to do it,
Word of mouth sometimes also good but can't capture a good amount to audience like the social media, good effort.
1977  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Well Organized Scam Projects on: April 20, 2020, 08:02:32 PM
How can we safe ourselves from well organized scam projects? Some projects are so well crafted and in the end they scam people,
Good project or not that's all your luck, in this forum, if you get paid after you work at a certain bounty and get a token.

There is nothing you can do when you find a scam project at the end of the story.
Many cases happened to members here, after working 6 months to one year, finally they were told by KYC, even though from the beginning they were not KYC, like this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5189364.msg52624092#msg52624092
That's all you can do, nothing more, the project still does the deception.

Exactly, most times luck plays an important role when it comes to bounty hunting and getting paid or not getting screwed over, even though you do some extensive research and dyor still when you are not lucky the bounty will turn out to be a scam,  and when this happens,  there is nothing you can do about it,
Yes the forum may tag the project but is the really enough to put a dent in their project and stop people from investing?  It is not, so best thing you can do is hope luck is on your side, because you are gonna need it if you are a hunter especially in altscoin project.
1978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hacken ai IEO failed on: April 20, 2020, 07:42:48 PM
What will happen to hacken ai now? The project planned for IEO on oceanX exchange, damn I did warned them about such exchanges, they only sold 18% of 100% tokens for the IEO in 24hrs, that's a big failure, any solution to this?

I think the first thing project owners need to consider when building their project idea is the exchange,  if they are not privately funded and they intend to source for funds through ieo, then it is very important they consider the kind of exchange they want to be in before they start promoting their project,
A serious project will not consider conducting ieo in this exchange, they ought to have done a background check in their ieo history to see how successful it has been, you don't just take a good project and hand it over to low level exchange to kill it for you, if you know your project is worth something, then strive to conduct ieo in a decent exchange at least.
1979  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which projects do you hold? Which ones do you believe in? on: April 20, 2020, 07:33:51 PM
When you are making investments by believing into someone's project and their promises about future developments, why not invest into a company's stock in your country instead, because when you deal in stock there are plenty of chances for not getting scammed (making profits will be possible only we are sure about not choosing a scammy thing) as they may have a real business unlike how most alcoins/tokens doing in this crypto space.

ICOs had changes crypto space just like stock investments/trading. But, I guess it would be much better to invest only on bitcoins rather than investing ICOs based coins. If you look for ICO's big promises of enormous profits then investing in stocks could be a btte options rather than struggling in crypto spaces.

I totally agree with you, there are too many uncertainties revolving around crypto that could make one to have a rethink about long term investment especially new projects,  after my recent experience with some coins I thought I trusted,  I think the safest thing to do is invest on stocks in your location,  this has a very limited chances of becoming a scam, invest in a well known company stock in your location or country and have a rest of mind with your investment,
investment in new project have very little guarantee,  anything can happen at anytime and your investment is gone.
1980  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is your expectation still high on the halving on: April 20, 2020, 07:25:59 PM
Can't really say high because as we all know,  the warld is facing a huge crisis as we speak, the economy is at a very bad state, this has also affected crypto in a great deal, people are more concerned amount staying alive and be healthy than putting money on other things, feeding and healthcare are the most important thing people are concerned about now,
So I guess it is safe to say, halving of this year will not have much impact like previous years, although I would very much like it to be the opposite. So let's hope everything turns for the better.
