1281  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Elon musk 5000 BTC give away scam ad on: April 11, 2021, 06:45:33 AM
How Youtube allow this shit? I can imagine tons of people fall for this and actually send him Bitcoin.

Send 0.3 BTC and double it and get 0.6 BTC lmao

https://prnt.sc/11955a9

And youtube appove that? are they idiots?

Who is really to blame here! youtube or those greedy people who fall stupidly for an obvious cheap scam? There is no such thing as free money, nobody hands out thousands to you just like that and certainly not Elon Musk,
How people can be so greedy and gullible to fall for shit like this still beats my imagination, people really need to wake up,  when it sounds too good to be true then watch out because it is not real.

Youtube can't control everything people those in their site, reason why there is a disclaimer,  almost like using this forum and you fall into scam in the process would you be blaming bitcointalk for your own actions! I don't think so.
1282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC losing its dominance big time on: April 11, 2021, 06:36:53 AM
As far as I can remember during the 2017's bullrun, Bitcoin's dominance is around 43%-45% and yet it reaches a new all time high. So I guess with 50% and up, we are still good, last 24 hours we touch $60,000 again, a indication that we are not losing momentum and could still go higher even if it's dominance is going down.

Some altcoins in the top 10-20 have really been on a massive tear, reaching it's all time high. But still with Bitcoin's rally, I'm sure there will be a time that investors are going to shift again to BTC.

I don't even think there is a major shift yet from btc to alts otherwise it would have been game on for alts holders, agreed btc dominance has dropped a little (around 54.61% according to cmc) perhaps this is why many sites like yahoo finance thinking soon there will be another alts season, let's hope this drop is enough to trigger the alts season movement,
To me, I feel most of the new money coming in are on btc, so many institutions investing on btc not alts, maybe part of the reason why the so awaited alts season has a slow pace.
1283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Prepared for the big and long dump this year. on: April 10, 2021, 11:33:48 AM
I can't help but make a qoute of this post, according to the @op eth don't have the capacity to reach $2000, misteriously as i type eth is currently trading at $2,102.93 which is definately above $2k, and eth falling back to $1k, perhaps that will happen in the future who knows, howeve, going by what the majority are saying about the upcoming alts season, there is high probability eth will surpase current price by good margin,

And speaking of xrp, the wonder project, lol, right now xrp is few numbers away fro $1, $0.95 to be precise, who ever thought this coin will see another rise in price after all their shenanigans with the SEC, it seems this coin is stronger than what people give it credit for, i bet @op will agree with me  Cheesy

Dot, @op beleives this is a bubble that will soon fade away, well so far so good, dot has been performing tremendously, many new project on polkadot blockchain, even though i can't seem to understand why the op think otherwise (of course we are each entitled to our opinion) but i believe dot is just getting started, just like i believe the dump of this time won't be as hard as it was few years back.
You are 100% right. And to be quite honest when someone says "it can't be x amount" and it beats that amount it is a proof that everything else said in that message is not credible neither. When someone is wrong about just one thing they will not be cared, doesn't mean that they will be wrong on the others it just means I will not care about it.

So, we know that he was wrong about ETH price and now it is over 2k that means we should not care about OP and what he said any longer, it's over, it should not be credible enough to talk about him. I believe eth will be bigger, I believe alts will be bigger, I believe we are just at the start of everything. For another year or so we are going to keep seeing big increases in altcoins, people made money on bitcoins but more people came in hearing that and now they want to make money like bitcoin investors did so they are all putting money into altcoins.

It is not as if the op is entirely wrong in his prediction because market always fluctuate and if you are not good at reading chart, just base prediction on personal opinion it will be hard to arrive at any meaningful conclusion,

That is not enough to judge his/her credibility, even the most technical analysts can make a wrong judgment too, the reason I decided to quote the post is for record keeping purpose, more like a reflection of all our speculation when eth hits $3000 sooner than later from the look of things, and again when the bear market comes how low will it go and if it will hit the speculated price of the op.
1284  Economy / Economics / Re: Investment the way to economic stability on: April 10, 2021, 10:16:31 AM
Economic stability comes with proper planning and management, if you don't have a proper future plan it will be difficult to invest wisely or spend your earnings wisely,

Aside from investing on crypto (btc) I also like to look into real estate, made some little investment there, property investment is also very profitable if you follow the right part, it is always good to diversify, am also thinking Gold, a very stable kind of investment that will value as time passes with a peace of mind.
1285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Could Be Chinese ‘Weapon’ on: April 10, 2021, 06:21:05 AM
Quote
Thiel opined that, assuming China is long bitcoin, the cryptocurrency could pose a threat to the U.S. dollar’s reserve currency status.

If it is to be that kind of weapon then there's really nothing bad in it for us investors. It's the central banks that should be worried.

I'm a EU citizen and I couldn't care less about USD losing its status. I've never bought anything using USD. I've never even held a dollar bill in my hand.
I try not to play "their" game simply because they don't care about me. All they need me for is to take a loan and deposit my hard earned money in their bank.

Why would you when you have your currency but then again if for any reason you find yourself in the United States am pretty sure you will be compelled to have dollar in your wallet,

Between I don't see what is so bad in depositing money in the bank, isn't it for safe keeping! Or would you rather have cash lying around in your apartment with the danger it may bring,

And let's imagine there isn't anything like digital currency (btc) and all you have got is the bank, what would you do? Just curious.
1286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have $150,000 US dollars and my target is a 10x gain. Stop me going all in now on: April 10, 2021, 06:10:28 AM
~

I have a few specific questions and I know it's just your opinions.

1.  Starting today on April 10, 2021 if I invested 150k in bitcoin, how much do the gurus expect me to have in 1, 2, 5, and 10 years?  Like would any idiot who just invested today and didn't sell expect a 5x increase within the next 10 years?
2.  I would use dollar cost averaging, but over what time horizon?  Invest 150k over the next six months?  Or just invest it all today since we all know it's going up?
3.  I could withdraw the old retirement fund and get the initial investment up to 300k.  Would you go all in using that?  I would not have much of a backup plan for retirement if this is the case, but like I said I have a high risk profile.  I do believe this is once in a lifetime.
4. If I want to pursue some alt coins, and again, I have a high risk profile, what % mix would you recommend?  33% alt-coins and 66% bitcoin, or 50-50, etc?

Thank you!!

1. $150k is reasonably good amount for 10 years stretch investment, depending on how btc performed from now till 10 years I would say it is very likely you can 5x or more, again nothing is certain.

2. I would invest 50% now and 50% in next few months (only if there will be correction otherwise it could be a lot higher)

3.Better to always have a plan B so won't be advising you to take that route except you are ready to take whatever outcome, it could be at your advantage or disadvantage.

4. Better to go %70 - 30% because as you know alts investment have a higher risk but also a good chance of making high roi than btc, but to be on a safer side a higher % on btc will be much better,  with btc there is less risk and safer.

And lastly, always remember to put in what you can afford to lose,  best of luck with your journey in crypto, Welcome on board.  Cool
1287  Economy / Services / Re: Ideaology Signature and Avatar campaign[OPEN] on: April 10, 2021, 03:51:22 AM

Regret to say I won't be continuing with campaign as I have been accepted in another, thanks for the opportunity and best of luck to everyone.
1288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Sovryn - price prediction when public sale will be open on: April 09, 2021, 02:16:34 PM
Sovryn (SOV) has a quite good and promising project and developer, but still we can't never predict the price of this coin, onl time can answer the question,
but in my opinion, i think at first launch of this coin the price will take about $0,003 - 0,006,
it's all depend on their team and the investors.

Obviously you didn't read anything, lol, $0.003 - $0.006 for sov that was bought by pompliano for 12k sat each which is around $7, even the Genesis sale buyers don't get sov at that price,
Certainly you have zero or very less idea about this project,  if you want you can do some research by visiting their Web page or official telegram for information.
Between I heard opening price is around 15k sat which translate in usd to $8.77 Wink
1289  Economy / Economics / Re: MicroStrategy Buys $250M in Bitcoin, Calling the Crypto ‘Superior to Cash’ on: April 09, 2021, 02:05:27 PM
I remember reading a thread where the @OP describe btc as "the institutional coin" and seeing this post just made me reflect back to the post,
Is it a good thing to have few rich and influential investors have so much btc under their control! I mean it is exciting to see all this institutions and corporations investing on btc (which also make me wonder why the sudden change of mind, is it because btc is so high compare to 10 years ago and there is a lot profitto be made, or they are truly interested in the technology which has always been around since 10 years ago  Huh)

I can't help but wonder what their plans are, do they plan to hold for a longer period and what will be their strategy to liquidate when the time comes, just brainstorming over all this institutional investors sudden display of interest and what impact it might have later on , nonetheless,  good to hear.
1290  Economy / Economics / Re: Are "Work Ethics" & "American Dream" a way to keep people working hard? on: April 09, 2021, 01:47:23 PM
Your family and society expect something from you, first as a son or daughter then as a citizen,  there is a saying that goes "an idle mind is the devil's workshop" if as a person you are not engaged in any activity that will keep you busy or active you tend to be bored and think about irrelevant stuff,

Work can varies, nowadays some people don't need to work hard to achieve their "American dreams" ever heard of "born with silver spoon" yeah this category of people don't need to sweat much to have their dreams come true,
Others who fall below this category perhaps needs to work hard to achieve their dreams, and don't forget dreams also varies, depending on individual interests, does not necessarily mean having a mansion and fleets of cars Cool

It doesn't matter how hard you work, what matters is the process taken to achieve that dream, your obligation mostly lies to your family before society,
Society can demand something but it is up to you to consider fulfilling it or not.

1293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFTs everywhere ! on: April 08, 2021, 03:54:23 PM
why are NFTs adopted by more and more projects in the world of crypto? because they want to ride the trend / hype of the moment and somehow increase their earnings, when the hype will be over no one will incorporate the nft in their projects anymore

Yeah, at the end only few of this project providing NFT will survive, many of them are temporarily, make hey while the sunshine kind of thing, same thing with all the defi hype, it is surprising to see how much people are willing to throw into a single NFT art, if some people are willingly to pay so much on a single art it means this trend will be huge, i can tell things are just getting started.

1294  Economy / Economics / Re: Janet Yellen to call for unified global corporate tax rate on: April 08, 2021, 01:21:12 PM
You can not call for a global unified corporate tax rate when you are not fully aware of the economic state of other countries,  there are many countries who's economic are in a bad state and needs the support of advanced countries like the USA for continuous survival, how do you tell such countries to increase tax rate from 21% to 28%, maybe with the 21% tax most companies already producing at loss, some must have fold up and seek better alternatives elsewhere,
I don't see many countries accepting this call, otherwise that will mean a deliberate economic self destruction. The earlier they forfeit this ridiculous idea the better for everyone.
1295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: DoveWallet stole my ETH and now is not responding on: April 08, 2021, 12:58:30 PM
Between, out of the numerous known eth wallet we have available why would you settle for dove! Sounds like a new one because am just hearing that name for the first time,

Am not trying to criticise this product but it is sometimes good to stick to well known products or services with track record to avoid situations like this, especially when it requires safe keeping of funds,

Just like @franky1 suggested, try contact them from a different mail like a fresher and see if they will respond, if they did it means they are deliberately avoiding you and the issue, which will be bad for their rep ( if they have any).
1296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple smashes your expectations on: April 08, 2021, 11:29:44 AM
Thats an over-exerggerated price, $10 per xrp with a total supply of 100 billion is highly unrealistic if you ask me, for the issue with sec is the hanging and not yet given a final decission, whatever the outcome may be, xrp already has a questionable part which some investors would take into account while investing on this project,
i don't know what the op is basing his price prediction on but i still doubt xrp will achieve such price target withing the aforementioned time frame.
1297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cheap coins flying to my attention! on: April 07, 2021, 03:53:54 PM
As long as it is money you won't get affected by if this decission of yours turned out to be a bad idea, then prepare yourself for some fun moment, who knows, this may turned out to be the best thing you do this 2021 Cheesy
sometimes things we underestimate finds a way to surprise us.
1298  Economy / Economics / Re: Why you can't be rich by owning crypto on: April 07, 2021, 03:30:30 PM
I think the point is not just owning btc, yeah i agree the early adopters of btc already made fortune from it that they can afford to lay back and watch their money make more money for them, but at present, btc is quite expensive, for anyone to buy enough btc that will enable his/her retirment must be ready to throw in some good amount of money,
On the other hand, maybe buying some alts can still give such opportunity, but how many people really have the patience and zeal to hold through to the point where they can be considered a millonaire! maybe @op argument will occure some time in the far future, right now, not so many people can say they are millonaires through crypto.
1299  Economy / Economics / Re: holding bitcoin from early 2010 till today on: April 07, 2021, 03:20:08 PM
Anyone who is still holding btc since from 2010 till now have really fought through a huge temptation over the years to still retain the amount of btc they bought long ago,
Or some of those who are still holding since 2010 can niether access their wallet because they can't find the p/key, because am finding it hard to understand what will make someone to be a die hard hodler  Grin, those people should be awarded for having so much courage.  Cool
1300  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin are good and not USDT what else? on: April 06, 2021, 02:26:48 PM
what else?
if btc are good and nobody cant take it from you by freezing your balance but the problem is btc are volatility.

so my conclusion: banks and bitcoins are good and best? banks are best becouse you can hold your stable fiat currency safe there

Since you already figure it out then why bother to post it! to enlighten us perhaps, thanks for the heads up, will give it a serious consideration  Wink

On a more serious note, banks and btc are both equally important and good for your finanacial wellbeing, i would say they work hand in hand, banks plays an important role in your investment process, btc plays a different role in helping you to grow your investment. Keep both of them close if you are the type who uses bank Grin
